Abstract: The objectives of this study were to estimate genetic parameters (heritabilities and correlations), non-genetic effects, genetic tendency and response to selection for growth (standardized weights at 120, 210 and 450 days) and reproductive traits (age at first calving and scrotal perimeter to 450 days) of Nelore males and females raised in Amazon region. Database consisted of 211,744 records of Nelore cattle, participants in the Genetic Improvement Program of Nelore (PMGRN Nelore-Brazil). The consistency of the data, descriptive analysis of variance and model selection for each trait were performed using Statistical Analysis System. The estimated mean and standard deviation were 122.9 19.0, 179.6 28.1, 262.4 45.5, 227.2 29.2, 37.1 4.7, respectively for P120, P210, P450, PE450 and IPP. The heritabilities for P120 were 0.24, 0.21 and 0.36 for h²d, h²m and h²t , respectively, for P210 were 0.29, 0.16 and 0.45 h²d, h²m e h²t , respectively and P450, PE450 and IPP, were 0.48, 0.49 and 0.22, respectively. The genetic correlations between weights ranged from 0.51 to 0.78, among PE450, and weights ranged from 0.26 to 0.46, among IPP and weights were low and negative, and between IPP and PE450 was null. In all traits, the genetic gains were higher than phenotypic, except for IPP. The results of response to selection ranged from 0.27 to 0.11 kg / year, from 0.49 to 0.20 kg / year, from 1.32 to 0.53 kg / year, from 0.08 to 0.03 cm / year and 0.06 to 0.02 days / year for P120, P210, P450, PE450 and IPP, respectively. Therefore, all traits can be used as selection criteria, in order to improve productivity.
