Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Aspectos clínicos e epidemiológicos da infecção genital pelo Papilomavírus humano (HPV) em adolescentes da região metropolitana de Belém(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-05-10) CAMPOS, Ana Carla Araújo; FUZII, Hellen Thais; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0026958665547973Adolescence is a period of a woman’s life marked by biological and psychological transformations that intensely influence future health. These women are more susceptible to STD. HPV infection is one of the most frequent STD, it is important to evaluate its prevalence because its link to uterine cancer. This study evaluated the prevalence of the HPV genital infection in the adolescent female population in Belém. These data were correlate to sociodemographic factors including social conduct, and reproductive behavior. A transversal study was conducted between August 2009 and August 2011 with 134 women between 13 and 19 years of age who visited the Maternal Unit for Children and Adolescents of Belém for Pap screening tests. The selected patients answered a questionnaire on sociodemographic data, behavioral and reproductive. Cervicovaginal material was collected for conventional cytology and for DNA HPV test by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique. The association of HPV infection and selected risk factors was assessed using the chi-square 2χ and/or the Fisher exact test, all with an alpha level of 0.05. The HPV genital infection had a prevalence of 22%, HPV 58 being the most prevalent with 31% and the least common HPV 11 with 3.4%. Among the HPV positive adolescents, there were 51% HPV infections that were not included in the quadrivalent vaccine (6, 11, 6, and 18). 72,2% had infection with at least one of the HPVs in the high risk group. There were cytological changes in 6.2% of pap smears. Risk factors associated with genital HPV infection in this study were schooled for more than eight years, with first sexual intercourse after 14 years, use of oral contraceptives for more than a year, and current use of oral contraceptives, pregnancy at 14 years or less, and abnormal cytological findings. The study results showed the prevalence of high risk HPV in non-immune-preventable cervical samples, demonstrates the need for new policies for primary and secondary prevention involving adolescents through instruction and guidance thus motivating them to actively participate in promoting their own health.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Aspectos clínicos e epidemiológicos da infecção pelo Papilomavírus Humano (HPV) em mulheres da população urbana e ribeirinha no município de Santarém-PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013) LIMA, Maria Mônica Machado de Aguiar; FUZII, Hellen Thais; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0026958665547973The human papilloma virus (HPV) is a virus that infects the skin and mucosa and is associated with cancer of the cervix, by increasing the likelihood of this happening, but parallel to this, other behavioral risk factors should be investigated. Focusing research on the prevalence and the clinical epidemiology of genital infection by HPV in women of urban and riverside municipality of Santarém-Para State proposed a comparative study to be observational, descriptive and analytical , transversal, where there was a selection of 511 women, with 391 women (38.54 ± 11.4 years) and 120 for Urban sample comprised the sample riverfront (37.2 ± 11.7 years). For data collection an interview was conducted, containing information about the factors that may be associated with the incidence of HPV and cervical cancer, plus a collection of biological material that was analyzed by cytology, DNA isolation and PCR . The analysis of these data was performed using the tab in excel and subsequent treatment through statistical software Bioestat 5.0, with the results a low prevalence of HPV compared with surveys from other regions, and homogeneity of results between urban and riverside, differing only in the topics of education, smoking status, number of sexual partners during their lifetime, and oral contraceptive used during life. Concluding that despite geographical location, there is for the municipality of Santarém a big change in the profile of woman between data found in the urban area and the waterfront on the epidemiology of HPV.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Aspectos clínicos, epidemiológicos da infecção genital pelo Papilomavírus humano em gestantes do município de Imperatriz, Maranhão(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012) SOUSA, Graciene Pereira de; FUZII, Hellen Thais; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0026958665547973It is known that infection with human papillomavirus (HPV) is widely distributed in the population, and is considered a sexually transmitted disease (STD) more frequent worldwide. Its transmission occurs through sexual exposure in about 98% of cases and its positive peak is observed among women of reproductive age, especially in the first years of sexual activity. In general, the infection is limited by the action of the immune system, which eliminates the virus within 2 years. Changes that interfere with the action of the immune system can influence the course of HPV infection, such as people with AIDS. During pregnancy, physiological changes occur that alter the immune response to non-rejection of semi- allogeneic fetus. This could interfere with the evolution of HPV infection, but this is still controversial. This study aimed to analyze the prevalence of HPV infection in pregnant women in the city of Imperatriz, MA and investigate possible associations between genital HPV infection and sociodemographic, behavioral, sexual, contraceptive and reproductive clinic - gynecological selected. We conducted a cross-sectional study of 168 pregnant women in the city of Empress-MA. The selected patients answered a questionnaire on socio demographic, behavioral and reproductive. Material was collected cervicovaginal cytology and conventional cervical brushed to detect HPV DNA by the technique of polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The association of HPV infection and selected risk factors was evaluated using the chi-square (x²) and/or Fisher exact test, all with an alpha level of 0.05. We studied 200 samples of cervical material was collected for Pap smear testing and identification of HPV DNA by PCR. The prevalence of genital HPV infection in pregnant women in the city of Empress was 17.6%, with the highest prevalence was in the age group between 18 to 25 years, which was 21.5%. Regarding marital status, note that unmarried pregnant women had a higher risk of acquiring HPV infection than married women (OR = 4.03, p = 0.0046). As for reproductive traits, there is the women who reported being primigravidae had higher prevalence of HPV infection, with 29%, which was statistically significant (p = 0.001), and 4 times more likely to acquire HPV infection than women who became pregnant two or more times. Interestingly, women who were taking the first PCCU on occasion, had a higher prevalence of HPV infection (25%) compared to those who had performed this test anteriormente.Os results showed a high prevalence of HPV in young pregnant women aged less than 25 years in primigravidae and among those who underwent PCCU first, so there is a need for measures to promote prevention and health of pregnant women with this specific target within the service routine Hospital. Thus, it is believed that such data can be very useful in planning programs, including the control of STDs, especially HPV.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Aspectos clínicos, epidemiológicos e moleculares do papilomavírus genital em adolescentes gestantes(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-08-14) CAVALCANTE, José Carlos Wilkens; FUZII, Hellen Thais; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0026958665547973Cervical cancer represents the third most common cancer in the world. Its etiologic agent is HPV. HPV is the most prevalent sexual transmissible disease in the world, affecting mostly young women. Adolescence is a time of behavioral, social and body changes, which reflects on the adolescent’s conscious awakening for sex, that can lead to contact with sexual transmissible diseases and early pregnancy. Being so, it is a time when the woman is more susceptible to infection, such as HPV. This project was dedicated to estimate the prevalence of HPV and to evaluate factors associated to this infection in pregnant adolescents in the Health Unique System, Pará State. It was a prospective transversal study including 257 pregnant women aging 12 to 19 attended at municipal (Curió and Tapanã) and state (Mother-child Reference Unit and Woman’s ambulatory of Holy House of Mercy of Pará Foundation Hospital) health units. The selected patients were submitted to a clinical-epidemiological questionnaire and to harvest of cervical-vaginal material for detection of DNA-HPV through polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The association of HPV infection and risk factors was evaluated through chi-square test (χ2) and/or Fisher’s exact test, with an alpha significance level of 0,05. HPV prevalence was 38.1% (98/257), affecting preferentially pregnant adolescents on the third gestational trimester (44.4%; p = 0.0312), between 11 and 14 years-old, with less than 6 years of schooling and those who did not have a mate. The risk factors associated to HPV infection in the population, also varied according to the gestational trimester, were “two or more sexual partners in life”, “first pregnancy” and “genital problems”. These findings show the adolescents susceptibility to HPV infection and, consequently, to the development of pre-neoplastic and malignant lesions. Therefore, there is the need of educational public measures in health promotion.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Avaliação clínica e epidemiológica do papilomavírus humano em mulheres idosas em unidades de saúde em Belém –Pará -Brasil(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-08-27) FREITAS, Wiviane Maria Torres de Matos; FUZII, Hellen Thais; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0026958665547973Aging is a real phenomenon that brings individual and social changes. Among these current modifications is the permanence of the elderly population in the field of sexual activity. Once this event was particularly the young, the elderly today and are sexually active still increasingly exposed to sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), including infection with the human papillomavirus -HPV, not to adopt safe habits such as condom use. The STD rates in the elderly are of concern when associated with increasing number of cervical cancer in this population. The study aimed to evaluate clinically and epidemiologically HPV in older women to health facilities in Belém / PA. It is a cross-sectional, analytical and quantitative study. Information was collected through clinical and epidemiological questionnaire containing variables on first sexual intercourse, sexual partners, alcohol consumption and smoking habits, etc. Cells of the uterine cervix for performing Pap smear, DNA extraction and detection of HPV DNA were collected. The HPV detection was performed by PCR and subtyping of the real-time PCR. The collections are given after approval of the Center for Tropical Medicine / UFPA Research Ethics Committee under the number 401.991 and analyzed by means of the construction of the database and the Chi-square and Fisher exact tests applied level of significance accepted of α ≤ 0.05. For data analysis, counted with 159 samples of older, averaged 67.98 years of age, widows and with incomplete primary education most. Registered a 6.28% prevalence of HPV infection in these elderly surveyed, there was a significant relationship between infection with multiple partners (p≤0,006) and the habit of smoking in the life (p≤0,03) . Another important fact is older in sexual activity as a higher prevalence of HPV (14.28%) than those without activity (2.72%). Added the event of an elderly infected with viruses having a subtype of high oncogenic risk (HPV16), in addition to all older received cytology within the normal range. It is concluded that despite the prevalence is decreasing in this present age, the elderly are exposed to risk factors that may contribute to increased rates of cervical cancer, highlighting the importance of this research and the constant screening in these women.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Correlação entre a avaliação clínica e o padrão de resposta imunológica periférica de pacientes acometidos por Paraparesia espástica tropical/mielopatia associada ao Vírus linfotrópico de celulas T humanas do tipo 1 (HTLV-1)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012) DIAS, George Alberto da Silva; FUZII, Hellen Thais; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0026958665547973Human T lymphotropic virus type 1 (HTLV-1) is an exogenous retrovirus that persistently infects 20–30 million people worldwide. This virus is etiologically related to the development of adult T-cell leukemia (ATL) and HTLV-1-associated myelopathy/tropical spastic paraparesis (HAM/TSP) a chronic disease of the central nervous system. The majority of HTLV-1-infected individuals remain lifelong asymptomatic carriers (ACs) of the virus. However, about 3-5% can develop ATL or HAM/TSP. The virus preferentially infects CD4+ T cells – main host cell of HTLV-1 – and rapidly induces cell activation and proliferation and expression of many host genes, including IFN-γ. The exact mechanism underlying these immunological and clinical events still remains unknown. In the current study, we evaluated the peripheral immune response and correlated with clinical symptoms like spasticity and weakness of the lower extremities, and gait abnormalities. 28 HTLV-1 infected patients were studied. Eight of them developed HAM/TSP and 20 were ACs. Total RNA was extracted from peripheric limphomononuclear cells using the TrizolR reagent (Invitrogen, Carlsbad, CA, USA). The quantitative real-time PCR was performed to quantify IFN-γ, IL-4, IL-5 and IL-10. Total RNA (1μg) of each sample was subjected to reverse transcription with Superscript III (Invitrogen). Real-time PCR was performed in StepOne Plus (Applied Biosystems, Foster City, CA) and signal detection was obtained with the Sybr Green reagent (Applied Biosystems). The amount of mRNA in the sample was expressed as the relative amount to the GAPDH and β-actin genes, according to the formula 2-ΔCT, where ΔCT is CTgene – CThousekeeping. The clinical symptoms of each patient were examined. Spasticity was assessed on the Modified Ashworth Scale, the weakness of the lower limb was measured using a manual scale, and the gait was given scores to the devices that assist in gait. The HAM/TSP patients showed higher expression of IFN-γ (Median: 2,9 x 10-3) than Acs (Median: 1,1 x 10-3), with p = 0,0710. The IFN-γ expression was positively correlated to spasticity (r = 0,2795), weakness (r = 0,6580) and gait (r = 0,7216). Interestingly, patients who need wheelchairs had a higher IFN-γ expression than those who don’t need wheelchair (p = 0,0371). The HAM/TSP patients showed higher Th1 response than ACs. The higher IFN-γ expression is correlated with the development and progression of the HAM/TSP.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estudo da função tímica em portadores de HTLV-1 com PET/MAH(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017) GOMES, Jéssica Antonia Nunes; FUZII, Hellen Thais; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0026958665547973In HTLV-1 infeccions 90% of carriers remain asymptomatic, 2-3% develop Adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATL) and 0.25-4% develop HTLV-associated myelopathy/tropical spastic paraparesis (HAM/TSP). In HAM/TSP, specific CD8 + T cell infiltrates are found in the marrow that destroy infected CD4 + T cells, leading to a chronic activated immune response. Recently emigrated T cells (or naïve T cells) have excised circles by the rearrangement of T cell receptor (TREC) genes that do not double in cell proliferation, being a good indicator to quantify the number of naïve T cells and thus evaluate the thymic function. This study aimed to verify the thymic function of patients with HTLV-1 infection by quantifying the number of TREC in peripheral blood mononuclear cells. This is a cross-sectional, analytical study of 39 patients over 18 years of age, divided into two groups: HAM/TSP (PET) and without HAM/TSP (NPET). We performed a clinical and physiotherapeutic evaluation, blood collection, lymphomononuclear cell separation, DNA and RNA extraction, absolute TREC curve, DNA and RNA quantification, TREC particle detection and quantification, cDNA synthesis, cytokine IL-7 and statistical analysis with the Mann-Whitney tests and Spearman's correlation, with p ≤ 0.05 as significance level. Of the 39 patients studied, two were excluded from the study because they presented autoimmune disease. Regarding the comparison between groups of TREC quantification: there was a difference between the PET and NPET groups (p = 0.01), in patients with age ≤59 years between the PET and NPET groups (p = 0.04), in the (p = 0.003) and the group with a wheelchair and without a wheelchair (p = 0.05). As for the comparison of IL-7 gene expression between groups: in the NPET group there was a difference between the group ≤59 years and the ≥60 years (p = 0.02), in the female there was a difference between the PET and NPET groups (p = 0.04). Thymic function was impaired in patients with HTLV-1 with HAM/TSP compared to those without HAM/TSP, as there was a loss in naïve T cell production in this population, shown by the differences between variables in both PET and NPET groups With respect to the quantification of TREC. Although the importance of this compromise in the triggering and / or evolution of HAM/TSP is not yet clear, it is inferred that the reduction of naïve T cell production can alter the immunological response in these patients, directly affecting their clinical picture. Approximately 291 million women worldwide are carriers of this virus. HPV is the cause of cervical cancer, that the incidence is higher in women after 40 years old, the same age of climacteric. Therefore, it is important to investigate the presence of HPV genital infection and risk factors in climacteric women to evaluate cervical cancer susceptibility. This study is to investigate HPV genital infection in climacteric women in Belém city. We evaluated 213 women between 35 and 60 years old, whose are assistance at Ambulatório da Mulher da Fundação Santa Casa do Pará. Clincal and epidemiologic data were collected using a questionnaire. Cervical cells were collected using cytological brush to detect HPV DNA. HPV DNA was detected using PCR with MY9/MY11 primers. To type HPV 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 52 e 58, it was performed using real time PCR with specific probes. Among 213 women, HPV genital infection was 11,7%. Associated risk factors were irregular use of condom and sexual initiation before 14 years old. Subtypes HPV frequency were 4% to HPV 11, 16, 31, 33 and 8% to HPV 6 e 35.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estudo da prevalência da infecção pelo Papiloma Vírus Humano (HPV) em mulheres portadoras de Lúpus Eritematoso Sistêmico (LES) em um hospital de referência de Belém(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012) AMARAL, Juliana Lasmar Ayres do; FUZII, Hellen Thais; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0026958665547973Introduction: Worldwide, cervical cancer is the third most common type of cancer. Almost all cervical cancers are caused by HPV (human papilloma virus), however, autoimmunediseases, such as Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) are also linked toan increased risk of cervical cancer. Objective: To analyzethe prevalence of HPV infection and associated risk factors in SLE patients, who are treated at referred care center in Belém-Pará. Methods: In this study, was investigated 70 women who has lupus and underwent cervical cancer screeningusing the Pap smear. The patients were divided into two groups of patients: women infected with HPV (n = 16) and not infected (n = 54). The detection and subtyping was performedby polymerase chain reaction (PCR). It was applied the Chi-square, binomial test, Fisher test and tstudent test with level alpha = 0.05 for rejecting the null hypothesis. This procedure was performed by using BioEstat software version 5.3. Results: The prevalenceof HPV in these patients was 22.8% with significant statistical results noted in women at the ages between 18-25 (p-value <0.001). Changes in the Pap smear and musculoskeletal symptoms at the time of collection, had also significant statistical results (p-value = 0.0360*, p-value = 0.0463 * respectively).Regarding the use of immunosuppressive drugs, the results were not associated with the virus infection. The most prevalent subtypes were HPV type 58 (37.5%) and HPV type 31(31.3%), and two patients manifested an infection of more than one genotype. Conclusion: InSLE patients studied the age factor has been implicated in an increased risk of infection, most of these patients had1-5years ofdiagnosis andallpatients with HPVpositive had abnormalities on examination of the PCCU.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estudo do HPV em fragmento uterino de mulheres com câncer do colo do útero(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012) FREITAS, Maria da Conceição Nascimento; FUZII, Hellen Thais; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0026958665547973Cancer of the cervix is an important public health problem, is the second highest incidence in females. HPV is the main risk factor for developing the disease, though not enough to cause it, requiring other associated factors. This study aimed to delineate the epidemiological profile and assess the prevalence and subtypes of HPV in women with cervical cancer. To this was applied a form epidemiological and viral DNA detection and typing of subtypes 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 52, and 58 for PCR. Ninety-seven percent of the samples about cancer of the cervix were positive for HPV. The prevalence of subtype HPV 16 was 48.6%, HPV 58 subtype was 10.8%, HPV 52 subtype was 5.4% and subtypes of HPV 18 and HPV 33 was 2.7%. Women in general were married had first sexual intercourse after the age of 15, had low education. Could not detect differences in variables among women aged 45 years and over 45 years, except the condom use was greater than 80% in women no more than 45 years, being statistically significant.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estudo epidemiológico da infecção genital pelo Papilomavírus humano (HPV) em mulheres do município de Bragança, Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-04-27) COELHO, Thaís da Conceição Costa; FUZII, Hellen Thais; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0026958665547973The cervical cancer is a problem of global public health. Despite the easy tracking and have high cure rates when detected early, it is still responsible for the death of approximately 230,000 women, of which 80% occurred in developing countries. Therefore, the objective of this research was to conduct a study of the prevalence of genital infection with human papillomavirus (HPV) and associated risk factors in women living in the city of Bragança, in the state of Pará. It was a cross-sectional observational clinical study and analytical, held in Bragança Regional Hospital Antonio Maria Zaccaria and in health units that municipality, through data collection was conducted with a clinical epidemiological form and collection of biological samples of cervical cells, and then the detection of HPV molecular biology technique known as "nested PCR (polymerase chain reaction). The prevalence of HPV was 37.5% in women from Bragança city, having identified subtypes: 11, 16, 18, 31, 35, 52 and 58, the most prevalent were 16 and 35 and three cases coinfection of subtypes. Infected women were predominantly married, were between 18 and 25, had high levels of education, non-smokers, but were alcoholic, had first sexual intercourse after 15 years, more than 5 partners in life, one or more sexual partners in the last year, and at least one new partner, did not make regular use of contraceptives, they had up to two pregnancies, childbirth, at least one abortion and were taking the first examination of PCCU. A high prevalence of HPV in these women was found but no risk factors was associated with statistically. However, one can trace a profile of the infected women to support health actions and minimize the transmission of this virus through educational activities, mainly focused on the proper use of condoms, in addition to increasing nastiness for cervical cancer in especially the awareness of the preventive test.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Padrão de resposta imunológica periférica em pacientes infectados pelo HTLV-1 e sua correlação com as manifestações neurológicas funcionais nos indivíduos com PET/MAH(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014) DIAS, George Alberto da Silva; FUZII, Hellen Thais; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0026958665547973Human T-cell lymphotropic virus type 1 (HTLV-1) is associated with adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATL) and HTLV-1-associated myelopathy/tropical spastic paraparesis (HAM/TSP). HAM/TSP is an inflammatory disease of the central nervous system (CNS); however, the mechanism by which HTLV-1 induces HAM/TSP is not yet clear. The virus–host interaction may provoke changes in the immunological response, such as the enhanced production of inflammatory cytokines, which are implicated in the pathogenesis of HAM/TSP. This work aimed to analyze the peripheral immune response of patients infected with HTLV-1 and correlate it with functional neurological manifestations in patients with HAM/TSP. In the current study, 69 HTLV-1 infected patients were studied. 26 of them developed HAM/TSP and 43 didn’t develop HAM/TSP. In patients with HAM/TSP was evaluated the functional neurological manifestations like muscle strength, muscle tone, balance and walking aid. Five mL peripheral blood was collected into a tube with EDTA and lymphomononuclear cells were separated on a Ficoll-PaqueTM Plus density gradient (GE Healthcare). Total RNA was extracted from 106 cells with Trizol reagent. After RNA quantification, 1 μg of total RNA was submitted to reverse transcription for the generation of cDNA using the Superscript III kit (Invitrogen). IFN-, TNF-, IL-4, IL-10 and TGF- gene expression was measured quantitatively with the StepOnePlus Real-Time PCR System (Applied Biosystem) using SYBR Green reagent (Applied Biosystem). The amount of mRNA in the sample was expressed as the relative amount to the GAPDH and β-actin genes, according to the formula 2-Ct, where Ct is Ctgene – Cthousekeeping gene. The gene expression showed higher expression of Th1 cytokine in patients with and without HAM/TSP, principally IFN-. In HAM/TSP patients also showed higher TNF- expression. The gene expression showed lower expression of Th2 cytokine in patients with HAM/TSP. As regards the anti-inflammatory response, gene expression of IL-10 showed impaired in patients with HAM/TSP and expression of TGF- initially showed higher in both groups. After ratio analysis between TGF-andIL it was observed that the expression of TGF-wasequivalent to the expression of IL-10, suggesting its involvement as a non-inflammatory cytokine, but as possible repair action tissue. The inflammatory profile was positively associated with the walking aid and balance, showing significant results only for the expression of IFN-. The patients infected with HTLV-1 who developed HAM/TSP showed increased Th1 response compared to patients who did not develop HAM/TSP, and this increased expression of IFN- is related to the development and progression of the disease.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Prevalência do papilomavírus humano em mulheres portadoras do vírus da imunodeficiência humana atendidas no serviço de atendimento especializado de Imperatriz-MA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012) CASANOVA, Franciara Batista; FUZII, Hellen Thais; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0026958665547973This work aims to assess the prevalence of HPV and the risk factors associated to the co-infection HIV HPV. Seventy-eight cervical samples of HIV-positive women attended at the SAE of an STD/ AIDS Program of the city of Imperatriz, Maranhão, Brazil, were analyzed. Cytopathology exams and amplification by PCR were realized. A questionnaire was used as instrument for data collection. The DNA positivity of HPV was 74,36%. In our study, the cytology diagnosed alterations in 16 (20,51%) of the cases. DNA HPV in 71% of the patients with inflammatory cytology was detected, and 93% of cytologies altered. Amongst the alterations we feature ASCUS with 100%; ASCUH 100%; LIE low level 100%; LIE high level 66,6%. By analyzing the social-demographic risk factors of this population in relation to the prevalence of infection by HPV, it was noticed that women who assumed they never had alcohol showed higher prevalence (87,5%), and women who presently use tobacco (84,6%) were infected by HPV. No differences were noticed amongst the variables “marital status”, “education”, “number of partners”, “use of preservatives” and “use of contraceptives”, with similar profile occurring. This study was a pioneer in the city of Imperatriz and confirmed a high prevalence of co-infection. The fight against uterine cancer must be adopted as a priority of public health services since it is a disease with potential to prevention, whose tracking is effective.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Prevalência e aspectos clínicos e epidemiológicos de mulheres HIV positivas infectadas pelo Papilomavírus humano (HPV) genital na Amazônia Brasileira(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014) CHAGAS, Elcimara da Paixão Ferreira; FUZII, Hellen Thais; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0026958665547973The Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) has been shown to potentiate the oncogenic mechanisms of Genital Infection by the human papillomavirus (HPV) , it is believed that the state of immunocompetence of the host may play a role in the evolution of cervical lesions . HPV infects a large proportion of women worldwide , with an STD (sexually transmitted disease) more common in the world with approximately 291 million carriers of this virus women. This keeps information related to the annual incidence of nearly 500,000 cases of cervical cancer . According to the National Cancer Institute (INCA) , this is the second most frequent cancer in a Brazilian population and more common in Pará The objective is to detect the prevalence and clinical and epidemiological aspects of the HIV -infected women postivas HPV. It is cross - analytical study . The samples are from patients treated at the Counseling and Testing Center (ATC) of the municipality of Tucuruí from March 2011 to July 2013 for detection and enumeration of CD4 and CD8 T cells was performed the technique of nested- PCR , and qPCR , and the slides were stained by the Papanicolaou method. The prevalence of HPV was 68 % . Most were married / common-law marriage (63.5 %) , illiterate / incomplete primary (50 % ). Regarding gynecological history, 94.59 % used condoms in all relationships , the median age of first sexual intercourse was 13 years , and only 24.3 % had their first intercourse at age 14 or less . Among the respondents, 82.4 % had 2 or more sexual partners during their lifetime , with a median of 6 partners . HIV infection is considered a risk factor for development of cervical cancer and during the survey data showed that the CD4 + count is inversely proportional to the emergence of this disease were correlated . Eighty percent of the samples that were positive for HPV DNA were detectable after 9 subtypes (6, 11, 16 , 18, 31 , 33, 35 , 52, 58) studied, and 88% positive DNA HPV of the samples were subtyped with one or more subtypes high risk for cervical cancer . The population estimate of HIV positive women for the presence of HPV and its subtypes were of great importance to aid in the early diagnosis and treatment , provide subsidies to regionalized programs for the prevention and management of these infections.
