Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Uma abordagem para otimização do período de sensoriamento em rádio cognitivo com algoritmo genético multiobjetivo(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-08-25) YOSHIOKA, Peterson Marcelo Santos; COSTA JÚNIOR, Carlos Tavares da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6328549183075122The spectral efficiency in networks based on cognitive radio (CR) technology can be compromised if the radio is used for a long time for the detection instead of data transmission. So it becomes necessary sensing schemes that have the purpose of obtaining the maximum possible use of spectrum, avoiding unnecessary sensing, as well as obtaining a minimum of interference in the transmission of the primary user due to incorrect detection of its transmission. In this paper, we propose the use of genetic algorithms for the adaptation of the sensing period. The goal is to obtain an optimal channels sensing period in order to maximize the discovery of spectrum opportunities and minimize the overhead due to the sensing. Most related works to this issue adopt fixed sensing overhead, not taking into account that some channels may have less tolerance to interference than others. The proposal presented in this work can adapt to the requirements of tolerance to interference with licensed channel by determining a period of sensing that optimizes the opportunities for any set amount of overhead. Our proposal achieves a gain up to 90% compared to nonoptimized techniques in terms of the number of opportunities found up to 40.9% gain in useful transmission and obtained a reduction in the time of interference of 66.83%. In addition, our proposal also achieves similar results to those obtained by an optimized proposal in the literature, with the advantage of allowing the adaptation of the sensing overhead.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Análise de um regulador de velocidade digital para a Usina Hidroelétrica de Curuá-Una(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-01-21) ARAGON, Luis David Gonçalves; COSTA JÚNIOR, Carlos Tavares da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6328549183075122This paper makes an analyze of a digital controller for the speed control in a hydroelectric factory of Curuá-Una. It’s used two design strategies, one that uses the indirect approach where the controller design is still done on the continues plane and then discretized and direct strategy , where the controller is designed entirely in the discrete plane. The knowledge generated using simulated tests is of great importance because it is one of the major tools to evaluate the performance of digital controllers in a secure environment. The study also contribute with the replacement of old equipment ( with a discontinued production) for digitalized equipment that allow the implementation of modern controllers, this way providing the replacement of classic continues controllers for advanced modern digital controllers, maximizing the efficiency of the system under adverse operation conditions. The work raises the differences, advantages and disadvantages of each controller, in order to assist in choosing the most suitable driver for the design of advanced controllers: adaptive control, fuzzy control or neural control. The difficulties of design and simulation results were the main indicators in assessments of the two digital speed regulator (SR) projected. In overall the SR Direct Digital had the best performance, stability and less effort, however, SR indirect digital performance showed similar, less degradation due to nonlinearities and less design effort.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Aplicação de filtro harmônico em sistemas elétricos de baixa tensão utilizando Lógica Fuzzy(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010-09-02) CIRINO, Weverson dos Santos; COSTA JÚNIOR, Carlos Tavares da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6328549183075122In an electric system several circuits and industrial equipments that behave as no-lineal devices exist. That behavior generates distortions in the electric system. Those distortions are called of Harmonic. This article introduces one of the several solutions to minimize that problem through the use of passive harmonic filters. The application of that filter will feel through a tool of computer generated to analyze and to detect which harmonic are present in the entrance sign and they harm the quality of the supply service, as well as, in projecting the passive filter. Presented in this work, the implementation of an improvement in the exhaust control system for the anodes baking ovens used at the ALBRAS-Aluminio Brasileiro S.A. smelter, located in Barcarena in the state of Pará, aiming at to minimize the pollution caused by the fuel burning in the ovens without compromising the efficiency of the process. In practice, this relationship is obtained when each producing unit is aligned to a test separator for production estimation. Data were obtained when the well is aligned to a test separator. Those data are used for training a Neural Network of Radial Basis Function (NN - RBF). The goal is to make the NN - RBF to recognize the patterns of the wel l head variables (input RBF) and the phases flow in the separator (out RBF), through using, as the training set, the patterns obtained during the production test previously executed.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estratégia de redução de consumo de energia em redes de sensores sem fio heterogêneas utilizando lógica fuzzy(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-10-26) MACIEL, Christiano do Carmo de Oliveira; COSTA JÚNIOR, Carlos Tavares da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6328549183075122The increase in wireless communication and microelectronic devices enables the development of micro sensors with monitoring capable for large areas. Consisting of thousands of sensor nodes, working collaboratively, the Wireless sensor networks have severe energy constraints, due to the limited capacity of batteries of the nodes that compose the network. The power consumption can be minimized by allowing only a few special nodes, called Cluster Head, are responsible for receiving data from its cluster nodes that form and propagate this data to a collection point called Base Station. The choice of optimum cluster head influence on increasing the period of stability of the network, maximizing their useful life. The proposal, presented in this thesis, uses Fuzzy Logic and k-means algorithm based on centralized information on Base Station for election of ideal Cluster Head for Heterogeneous Wireless Sensors Networks. The criteria used to select the ideal Cluster Head are based on the node centrality, energy level and proximity to the Base Station. This dissertation presents the disadvantages when the local information are used to the cluster leader election and the importance of discriminatory treatment on the energy discrepancies in the network. This proposal is compared with the Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH) and Distributed energy-efficient clustering (DEEC) algorithms. No âmbito da matemática determinística, muitos trabalhos, já consagrados na literatura, se propuseram a resolver tal problemática. Recentemente, técnicas que envolvem métodos metaheurísticos em um espaço de busca pré-determinado, utilizando Inteligência de Enxames, vêm sendo utilizados com bastante êxito e tem se mostrado uma nova ferramenta como solução. Com base neste contexto, este trabalho apresenta a compreensão do problema sob o ponto de vista da teoria de sistemas lineares; realizando um estudo comparativo entre as Inteligências de Enxames: Firefly Algorithm, enxame de partículas (PSO do inglês - Particle Swarm Optimization) e SFLA (do inglês - Shuffled Frog Leaping Algorithm).Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estudos de estratégias de identificação paramétrica para detecção e diagnóstico de faltas em um processo industrial do tipo tanques comunicantes(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-04-22) SILVA, Raphael Diego Comesanha e; BARRA JUNIOR, Walter; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0492699174212608; COSTA JÚNIOR, Carlos Tavares da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6328549183075122This dissertation presents a technique for detection and diagnosis of incipient faults, which cause changes in behavior of the system under investigation and are reflected in the mathematical model’s parameters values variation. As a testbed, was constructed a model of an industrial system computing environment Matlab/Simulink, which consists of a dynamic plant composed of two tanks linked to each other. The modeling of this plant was carried out by physical equations that describe the dynamics of the system. The fault, which the system was submitted, represents a gradual clogging in the exit pipe of the tank 2. This bottleneck causes a gradual reduction, up to 20%, of the pipe section. The technique of fault detection was performed by real-time estimation of parameters Auto-regressive models with exogenous inputs (ARX) with fuzzy and Recursive Least Squares (RLS) estimators. Already, the percentage clogging diagnosis of the pipe was obtained by a fuzzy system parameter tracking, fed back by the integral of the residue detection. Using this methodology, it was possible to detect and diagnose the simulated fault in three differents operating points of the system. In both techniques tested, the RLS method perform well, only to detect fault. Otherwise, the fuzzy method performed better, in detect and diagnose the fault applied to the system, noting the work propose.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Handoff de espectro em redes baseadas em rádio cognitivo utilizando redes neurais artificiais(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-02-03) BALIEIRO, Andson Marreiros; COSTA JÚNIOR, Carlos Tavares da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6328549183075122Nowadays, the radio spectrum is one of the most important natural resources in the world. According to the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) report, the licensed bands are abundant but poorly utilized. The Cognitive Radio (CR) technology aims improving the spectral efficiency through the opportunistic access to the electromagnetic spectrum. It enables that new applications based on wireless communications are supported, without causing interference at the licensed communication and trying to ensure the quality of service to the applications. Thus, the efficient spectrum handoff is a critical requirement to be taken into account for the success of CR systems. This work outlines concepts about the cognitive radio technology. It proposes and evaluates a proactive strategy based on Artificial Neural Networks for spectrum handoff in CR networks. The performance of the proposal regarding the inference level to the primary user, spectrum handoff number triggered by secondary user and spectral utilization is compared with that one obtained by a reactive scheme. Differently from previous works, this study considers measured traces made available by IEEE Dyspan 2008 in order to evaluate our proposal. Numerical results show the superiority of the proposed scheme.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) LABEXP - Laboratório de experimentação remota em tempo real(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2009-08-14) SANTOS, Diego Lima; COSTA JÚNIOR, Carlos Tavares da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6328549183075122This work proposes the Real Time Remote Experimentation Laboratory’s (LabExp) development and implementation process. This laboratory is actually working in Universidade Federal do Pará aiming to act as an auxiliary tool for teaching and learning of control systems disciplines. Teaching and learning were included through experiments availability, where users may interact with them, changing parameters and observing this interaction results. Besides experiments availability, it is believed that in online learning environments it is interesting to make available for students tools that provide greater interaction between students and teachers and with the remote laboratory, providing a more collaborative approach to learning, encouraging the student. This way, it is available to students three applications: one to submit their own experiments, another for interaction with other students through a forum, and another to send your opinions/criticisms. Before LabExp’s development and implementation process, it was make a brief analysis about online education, because this is the laboratory’s purpose. This analysis provided more knowledge about this method of education, guiding the rest of LabExp’s development. It is understood that the technologies used are not critical for a remote laboratory’s development, directed to online education, however remote experiments of control systems have a temporal restriction, i.e. need to obey restrict time limits, working in real time. To achieve this behavior it was used the Real Time Application Interface (RTAI), with the RTAIXML component. Beyond used technologies, this work also presents LabExp’s modeling process, according to Unified Modeling Language (UML) standard, principles and resources, applied to web applications. In this study, it is presented a comparison of three autoregressive models used for the mentioned optimization, with the fuzzy logic model, dimensioned through the extended autocorrelation function. The electric energy consumption data presents a seasonal time series structure, provoking a historical cut with the electric power consumption characteristics of the State of Rondônia, and in this object was implemented a methodology of prediction by means of already sedimented models and in comparison to a new model, presented in Fuzzy Identification Methods for Autoregressive Models Using the Extended Autocorrelation Function. The performance of the models and application for short-term electricity demand forecasting, 5 (five) five business days of the week, was analyzed for the purpose of contracting electric energy packages with the electricity distribution concessionaires, in compliance with the legislation current agreement on auctions and purchase agreements. In the course of the work, we analyzed the results of electric energy prediction, by the models presented, the proposed model in Fuzzy System related to Extended Autocorrelation, being the most satisfactory one confirmed by errors of forecast in relation to the demand of electric power for the State of Rondônia, and complying with legislation on forecasting and demand of electric energy in Brazil.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Projeto de controlador preditivo: abordagem polinomial e no espaço de estados(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-09-28) SILVA, Mauro Gomes da; SILVEIRA, Antonio da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1828468407562753; COSTA JÚNIOR, Carlos Tavares da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6328549183075122In this study, predictive controllers of the Generalized Predictive Controller (GPC) and MPCSS (Model Predictive Controller State Space). The main objective is to provide a comparative study of performance and dynamic stability between these control structures, when submitted to processes with distinct dynamic characteristics and in the presence of load disturbance at plant output and noise. The study presents the design of unconstrained GPC and MPCSS controllers, applied to monovariable systems, using the process model and the cost function incrementally. For the GPC controller design, a predictive model is used to predict the output of the process over a time horizon with the output being composed of measured signals of the past inputs-outputs and the future control signal. However, the MPCSS project is developed in the state space representation domain, with feedback of estimated states using a state observer using the Kalman Filter equations. The MPCSS controller has its inherited structure from the project model, where variables of states with physical behavior, enter into obtaining a law of control by feedback of estimated states. Numerical simulations are applied to evaluate the designs of the presented controllers.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Sistematização de projetos de controladores fuzzy através de programação orientada a objetos(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2009-10-06) LEITÃO, Álvaro Luís dos Reis; COSTA JÚNIOR, Carlos Tavares da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6328549183075122By using object oriented language programming and, applying a specific programming technique, it‟s possible to generate a set of generic classes whose objects represent each block of a fuzzy controller as well its linguistic variables. Such classes, being applied in a systematic way, make easy the programming of a set of controllers of this nature. This work presents this technique and shows the results obtained via a model simulation of a inverted rotational pendulum which is controlled by a control system composed by three fuzzy controllers designed and built under this point of view.
