Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Ação do vento na estabilidade global efeitos de segunda ordem em estruturas de concreto armado na cidade de Belém-PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-02-23) MEDEIROS, José Odilon Barros de; MACEDO, Alcebíades Negrão; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8313864897400179Due to the exponential growth of urban populations, the need for space for housing has grown significantly. To meet these demands, increasingly tall and slender buildings are designed, always aiming at the need to reduce costs and raise profitable margin by the construction companies. New materials and methods of structural analysis are created and improved so that maximum performance and structural safety are extracted at the lowest cost. Thus, this dissertation aims to contribute to the studies concerning the analysis of global stability and evaluation of the effects of 2nd order in the structures, from the comparative analysis of stability parameters, with the premises described in NBR 6118 (2014). In relation to the ultimate limit state, the following coefficients were evaluated: α and γz - suggested by NBR 6118 (2014), as well as FAVt and 𝑅𝑀2𝑀1 - obtained by the CAD/TQS System. With regard to the service limit state, the results concerning the horizontal displacements at the top of the buildings were analyzed and compared with the normative limits. For this, computational modeling was performed representing nine distinct fictitious structures submitted to the actions of the usual project loads on residential buildings, according to the aspects of NBR 6120 (1980), besides the evaluation of the influence of the consideration of the wind loads in the mentioned models structures. As for the development of the structures, usual techniques of discretization were employed, using the finite element method, through the CAD/TQS program. From the results obtained, it was observed that in the higher structures the parameters related to the ELU and ELS exceeded the normative limits, and that the fact regarding the lack of consideration of the wind action in the structures can significantly compromise the behavior and structural safety, since the calculated 1st and 2nd order final efforts can be up to 41% lower in relation to the efforts calculated by applying the criteria described in NBR 6123 (1988), in turn causing undersized structures and consequently, leading such structures to results catastrophic, such as ruin through progressive collapse.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Análise da manutenção de pavimentos urbanos: uma proposta de implantação de um sistema de gerência de pavimentos(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-09-19) BARRA, Renata Brabo Mascarenhas; NEVES, Renato Martins das; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6538317425557058; MACEDO, Alcebíades Negrão; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8313864897400179The absence of urban planning and management is the factor that most contributes to driving municipalities to a precarious stage of their infrastructure. The management of the maintenance of the urban pavements is important for a good management of the public services offered by a municipal body, being a great challenge to its managers. The development of an internal management system better incorporates the needs of the agency responsible for interventions in the road network, besides, it aims to generate economy and improve the quality of the services provided. The urban road network is one of the main components of the municipal infrastructure system, and yet the concern of public managers with the systematization of procedures for the management of this road system is small. In view of the above, this research has the objective of proposing the implementation of an Urban Pavement Management System to a public Road Works Department. As a research strategy, the case study was adopted, since a field research was carried out by means of the application of a structured questionnaire, analyzing in depth the research focus. In addition to the bibliographic review stage, the study comprised the execution of three phases, the first one referring to the presentation of the idea (motivation) and the initial diagnosis of the focus of the research, the second phase corresponded to the software development stage the elaboration Of the Urban Pavement Management System - SGPU and the third phase corresponded to the implementation and use of the developed system. The main results are: the creation of a computational tool capable of generating an inventory of the municipal road network, generating support reports for decision making considering the type of existing pavement, type of last maintenance done on the road, Services per neighborhood of the analyzed region, the condition of the subgrade and its drainage system, the type of roadway covering and its Pavement Condition Index. These reports provide senior management with the foundation needed to plan the short, medium and long term actions correctly, increasing efficiency and assertiveness in meeting the demands. Finally, it was concluded that the developed system met the general objective of the research, generating in a satisfactory way the inventory of the routes of the analyzed region, aggregating information for management decision-making in the organ, in addition, this research becomes important for the environment For its innovative character in the analyzed region, consolidating itself as one of the references regarding the management of maintenance of urban pavements in public agencies.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Análise do comportamento mecânico de tubos de concreto com fibras de aço produzidos com materiais da região metropolitana de Belém do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-09-25) OLIVEIRA, Marco Antonio Barbosa de; POMPEU NETO, Bernardo Borges; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6564259204591721; MACEDO, Alcebíades Negrão; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8313864897400179The steel fibers in the concrete pipes have provided better mechanical performance levels. In the northern region, uniquely in Belem, no studies on the technical feasibility of this technological resource, although there is considerable deficiency of urban infrastructure. Thus become relevant conduct studies on alternative technology. This study seeks to analyze the mechanical behavior of concrete pipes with steel fibers, aiming at the technical feasibility of replacing the concrete pipe with conventional armor. The research methodology we used steel fibers in loose state and glued comb DRAMIX® 3D type 65/35 and 80/60 DRAMIX® 3D type. For each fiber type were adopted contents of 20 kg / m³ (0.25%), 30 kg / m³ (0.38%) and 40 kg / m³ (0.50%) by weight and volume fraction, respectively. The size of all concrete pipes was 600 mm diameter, wall thickness of 60 mm and effective length 1000 mm, and the cylindrical bodies of the test piece of 100x200mm and prismatic of 150x150x500mm and 150x150x550mm, which were subjected to the tests for mechanical behavior evaluation and durability. In the production of concrete with the fibers was reviewed in the fresh state with frustoconical rebate between 0 and 10 mm. The dosage of concrete with fibers was routinely employed by the company for concrete without fibers, and the strength of the fibers takes place under the rule of the mixture. The results obtained that the concrete pipe with fiber type 80/60 loose at all levels and pasted comb the levels of 0.38% and 0.50%, reached the minimum breaking load and post-cracking set by the NBR 8900 (ABNT, 2007), thus would be technically feasible as the replacement of reinforced concrete pipes conventionally, under the conditions and specifications of this study.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Análise do desenvolvimento de competências gerenciais na construção civil através do modelo da aprendizagem baseada em problemas adaptado ao contexto organizacional(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-01-11) MARTINS, Vitor William Batista; NEVES, Renato Martins das; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6538317425557058; MACEDO, Alcebíades Negrão; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8313864897400179With the growing and changing competitiveness in the construction business, the speed at which new technologies have been made available, the quantity and quick access to information featuring a turbulent environment that requires a great capacity of adaptation and learning in organizations. In this context, the work was carried out in the municipality of Tucuruí in the State of Pará, with the objective of evaluating the economic feasibility of implementing a RCC Recycling Plant. Research was carried out to diagnose the management of RCCs by the public authority of the city and it was verified that management does not take place efficiently. Thus, through the collection of information, it was possible to estimate the generation of RCC in Tucuruí, the daily generation is around 1.566,33 m3. Thus, to carry out the economic feasibility analysis, the annual gross revenue was determined, where the costs of implementation of the project and operation were calculated, and from the calculated net values, the cash flow from the Recycling Plant and the investment analysis method was calculated using the Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR) Payback (PB) and the Profitability Index (IL) for the time horizon of 20 years, not considering the inflation. In order to define the Minimum Attractiveness Rate (TMA), a rate of 12% was adopted, since it is close to the SELIC rate for the year 2017, 12.25%. The results show that there is economic and financial feasibility in the implementation of this investment, thus, NPV R $ 1,148,946.06 positive, IRR 14%, PB will be completed in 4.2 years and IL 1.71, demonstrating the economic viability of the project. The estimation of three different scenarios was also done, with 5% increase in gross revenue, 5% increase in expenses and increase in TMA by 15%, thus concluding attractive results for the investment.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Análise quantitativa da degradação de fachadas em revestimento cerâmico: estudo de caso em edifícios de Belém– PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-06-15) SANTOS NETTO, Clementino José dos; MACEDO, Alcebíades Negrão; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8313864897400179This study approaches the collect and identification of pathological manifestations in the façades of five buildings, with ceramic coating system (SRC), in the Metropolitan Region of Belém / PA, using Silva 's adapted damage quantification model (2014). The proposed methodology consists of a systematization of the inspection process, with identification, mapping and quantification of the pathological manifestations in the façades of the buildings, applying the Damage Factor (FD) as a way to evaluate the degradation behavior as a function of influence factors such as type of manifestation, age and solar orientation of the facades, also analyzing agents of degradation such as directed rain, solar radiation and humidity. Subsequently, the Combined Damage Factor (FDC) was applied, which assigns weighting indices to the FD, related to the repair cost of each observed anomaly. Analyzing the results, it was verified that the pathological manifestation stain (MA) on the ceramic coating was the one that presented the highest percentage of occurrence, that is, greater degraded area, among the types of anomalies observed. In addition, this manifestation presented high values of FDC in all cardinal orientations and expressive values of this index of degradation, both in façades under 20 years and in those with more than 20 years. These results are directly influenced by the extremely aggressive climate of the region, which presents constant rains and high humidity (up to 95%), favoring the propagation of this anomaly (staining) already in the first ages of the building, since the façades (10 and 16 years old) already had considerable degradation rates of this pathological manifestation. The orientation that presented the highest degradation factor was the South direction (FDTotal=9.42%), influenced directly by the phenomenon of directed rainfall, which presents its highest Directed Rain Index (ICD) in the North direction, affecting the facades oriented in the South direction. After the application of FDC, the pathological manifestation of ceramic detachment / displacement (DC) presented the highest degradation index (FDCMédio=39.22%), due to its high restoration cost, when compared to the repair value of the other anomalies evaluated. By means of the histograms of FDTotal and FDCTotal, a characteristic exponential curve was observed that shows a decrease in the frequency of occurrence as the value of the degradation index increases. This characteristic curve was also observed in Silva (2014) and Souza (2016).Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Aprendizagem Baseada em Problemas (ABP): identificação das dificuldades docentes para a utilização do método no curso de Engenharia Civil.(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-08-28) SILVA, Sidnei Silva e; MACEDO, Alcebíades Negrão; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8313864897400179; NEVES, Renato Martins das; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6538317425557058The technical training of engineering teachers brings with it difficulty in mediating in an educational process way of building knowledge, which negatively influences student training. To minimize such effects, we used the Problem Based Learning (PBL) as an alternative. Therefore, this paper aims to present the difficulties identified in the teacher's perception for the use of the method in the civil engineering course through the construction of an implementation proposal in two disciplines in a public university of Marabá. The research is characterized as action research and was developed in eleven cycles proposed in the disciplines. These problems were built based on the contents offered for these subjects and a technical visit to a teaching institution that uses PBL as a curricular basis. Besides, we used observations of similar studies developed on the use of the PBL method. The results demonstrate the feasibility of using the technique, shown by the good acceptance of both the teacher and the students involved in the research. Besides that, we observed which the students have gotten excellent performance at the end of each discipline. However, some difficulties were found: the cultural elements, the curriculum, and the lack of some teaching skills as factors that can hinder the use of the PBL either by the student or by the teacher himself. From these results we concluded that the studies demonstrate the feasibility of using the method, however, essential elements present in the educational process would need to be enhanced so that the PBL could be fully used within the institution, such as teacher training, or curriculum-related issues could contribute to the development of the topic addressed in this study.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Avaliação de sistemas de indicadores de desempenho para empresas da construção civil da Região Metropolitana de Belém(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-02-25) BUENO, André Ricardo; NEVES, Renato Martins das; NEVES, Renato Martins das; MACEDO, Alcebíades Negrão; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8313864897400179Globalization and the demand for sustainable actions of the current market, increasingly require the companies to strive for continuous improvement. Corporate managers seek at ali times to achieve maximum positive results for profit, with low production costs and that its activities are increasingly sustainable. The use of performance indicators is an alternative system for measuring organizational performance, being a reflection of this concern. This performance should be evaluated not only on financial information, because in this way would be insufficient for understanding the dynamic business environment of today. The use of indicator systems constitutes one of the major initiatives that can be implemented to track the necessary modernization and development of the construction industry in the pursuit of increased efficiency, efficacy and effectiveness in generating various processes that constitute the system of production. The search strategy used is a case study therefore aims to understand systems performance indicators used in the metropolitan region of Belém and the relevance of these for business decision making. To search 5 steps were taken: 1) development of templates for data collection, 2) selection of companies for conducting the research, 3) survey of indicators, 4) meetings with the participating companies and 5) proposed indicator system standardized. The main results were: (a) understanding of the dynamics of use of performance indicators in the region; (b) understanding of entrepreneurial behavior of firms in the construction of the metropolitan region related to the use of performance indicators systems; (c) proposed a standard set of performance indicators as a management tool to assist in business decision making system. R appears with the results obtained need to develop academic studies that encourage the creation of enabling environments for the realization of collaborative management practices, in line management of construction, especially in the development of clubs using best practice performance indicators.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Caracterização dos agregados da região do baixo Amazonas: elaboração de traços para a produção de blocos de concreto estrutural(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-07-03) NEVES, Paulo Henrique Lobo; MACEDO, Alcebíades Negrão; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8313864897400179With the growing demand for aggregates for the construction industry in the city of Santarém and surrounding cities, and with the emergence of construction processes still little known in the region, such as the use of concrete blocks, the need to develop an experimental research for verification arises insusceptible of the characteristics of aggregates to be used in order to study the feasibility of applying them to the production of concrete blocks with structural function, class B – 4,0MPa ≤ fbk <8.00 MPa. A complete characterization, identification of exploration areas with their distances to block production sites in the city Santarém was approached. With the results were developed traits with the dry mixture of aggregates depending on their characteristics seeking to optimize and better compactness thereof, to more economic traits and which give the final product a better finish and resistance. The experiment was developed from a standard feature used in the city's factories and which served as a benchmark for the other elaborate experimental features, complying with the steps below. In the first stage was carried out to identify the aggregate producing sources in the city of Santarém and surrounding areas. Following a second stage, held expeditions collecting and packaging the samples. For the latest steps were carried out the characterization tests being: Kids grain size and coarse aggregates, mass determination and specifies apparent, fine materials and abrasion Los Angeles. Later traces were designed with optimized framework in the ideal particle size range, with the production of concrete blocks with structural function of families 14x29 and 14x39. In the last step tests were performed to verify the dimensional analysis, absorption index and resistance to compression individual blocks. Were choosed two types of substrate, one with a 30 Mpa resistance and other with 40 MPa resistance, also were used two types of mortar, one with additive and other lime based, two thicknesses of coating layer, from 15 mm and 30 mm, and was simulated the exposure condition that the region has.For this, tests were performed to characterize the mortar in the fresh state (consistency, water retention, air entrainment and mass density) and in the hardened state (compressive strength, tensile strength in bending, specific gravity, water absorption, voids and density). After preparation of the samples for evaluation, were taken the measures of superficial movement of the mortar for 28 days and the occurrence of cracks and detachment, as well as the verification of the bond strength of the coating and also the loss of water by evaporation of mortars. As a result of this research, it was observed that the variation of the resistance of the substrate analysis not showed a significant difference in the shrinkage, as well as the thickness of the layer to some series. It was also found that the type of mortar, or the material composition, has a direct influence on retraction. With regard to water loss by evaporation from the mortar, it can be seen that the additive achieved greater success in water retention materials. In the test of bond strength, was found that the most significant influence was in relation to the composition of the mortars and that they had values above the minimum allowed by regulatory norm.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Concreto com utilização de agregado graúdo sintético produzido a partir da lama vermelha: estudos de dosagem, propriedades e microestrutura(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-08-13) ROSÁRIO, Kátia Alrelhia do; MACEDO, Alcebíades Negrão; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8313864897400179Currently sustainability issues have gained prominence on the world stage in various sectors of society. Several researchers (LIMA, 2006; Hildebrand, 1998; SOUZA, J., 2010, ROSSI, 2009, etc..) Have tried to propose an interaction between the construction industry and those who engage in mineral production and processing, such as the beneficiation of bauxite. In this context, finding viability for the recovery of waste generated in large quantities and no use would contribute to the preservation of the environment, insofar as it would reduce consumption of resources from natural sources and increase the supply of inputs in construction market. This work is discussed the feasibility of producing a concrete, it has characteristics which renders itself to use as raw material in the construction industry, by using an synthetic aggregate obtained from the red mud (bauxite waste improvement) . According to the experimental program to be executed, the aggregates and the concrete produced will have their properties analyzed in order to study the production process and measurement respectively. Aggregates are analyzes of: porosity, water absorption, bulk density and Los Angeles abrasion and concrete, workability, density in fresh and hardened, compressive strength, tensile strength by diametrical compression, tensile bending, water absorption and elastic modulus. It is noteworthy that significant importance is given to the transition zone paste / aggregate, by analysis of the microstructure of concrete produced. Analysis is performed by means of tests: Mercury intrusion porosimetry (MIP) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The results of the analyzes of the synthetic aggregates and concrete produced satisfactory results, showing that they have potential for use in the construction industry.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Contribuição para o desenvolvimento de compósito cimento-madeira com materiais da região amazônica(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2005-06) FONSECA, Fábio de Oliveira; MACEDO, Alcebíades Negrão; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8313864897400179This work intends to propose an application for tropical wood waste from wood industry as saw dust; from the region of Belem, in the fabrication of wood-cement composite. Due to the natural chemical incompatibility between wood and cement, this procedure results in a set retarding effect, with wood specie depending intensity. This by-effect can be beaten by using a procedure like additives, wood mineralization, accelerated carbonation and others. Analysis were made with axial compression strength at 28 days age data, for mortars made with 2, 3.5 and 5% wood content in mass; using cements type CP I and CP II; with and without Calcium Clorets-based set accelerator additive. Then, obtained data were statistically analyzed for evaluation on wood content and additive use over mechanical resistance. Most of existing researches uses reforesting species, being the tropical ones almost never studied. So, this work represents a pioneer effort in developing a cement-bonded wood composite with our regionally available materials and residues.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Desempenho estrutural de blocos, primas, mini-paredes e paredes de alvenaria estrutural confeccionadas com blocos cerâmicos produzidos a partir da mistura de lama vermelha com argila(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-03-27) COSTA, Diogo Henrique Pereira e; MACEDO, Alcebíades Negrão; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8313864897400179New techniques for the improvement of residues have become increasingly important in constructions, especially when it comes to the use of residue from other industries and the reduction of natural raw materials. The objective of this study was to evaluate the use of a residue from the production of metallurgical alumina known as red mud (RM), the structural performance of blocks, prisms, mini-walls and walls made of ceramic blocks with reticulated and circular cross sections, produced from the mixture of clay and RM. Experimental tests were performed corresponding to the characterization of the materials used and testing of compressive strength of units, blocks, prisms, mini-walls and walls. All materials and units met the standard requirements for their correct use in experimental tests. The results of compression tests have shown that elements of the blocks made by mixing clay and RM parameters met the standards and showed satisfactory and superior results to the components made of composite ceramic blocks with 100% clay, usually employed in constructions.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Emprego de resíduo de silício metálico na produção de cimento portland composto(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-12-19) CUNHA, Rodrigo Rodrigues da; MACEDO, Alcebíades Negrão; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8313864897400179The reuse of industrial waste and alternative raw materials in construction is fundamental to sustainable development with reduced consumption of natural resources and CO2 emissions. In this line, the present study contemplates the use of a powdered waste, originating from the production of metallic silicon, which is designated as pre-separator residue. In this way, the objective of this research is to produce and evaluate properties of Portland cement composite CP II-E with the addition, during its manufacture, of metallic silicon industrial residue after calcination. For this purpose, the residue was used in partial replacement to blast furnace slag, in mass contents of 30%, 50% and 70%, in addition to the reference situation, in which no silicon residue was added to the cement (0%). Cement properties, produced with residues, were evaluated for their chemical composition, mineralogical, physical parameters (fineness, picking times, fire loss and insoluble residue), compressive strength, water absorption, absorption by capillarity, microscopic techniques and analytical techniques (DR-X, chemical composition and thermal analyzes of TG / DTG). As results, there were no significant differences in the physical parameters of the cements produced. Cement mortars produced with higher residue contents (70% and 50%) had the highest values of compressive strength and lower values of capillary water absorption, voids index and water absorption by capillarity than mortars produced with standard cement ( without siliceous residue). The same was not observed for cement mortars with 30% silicon residue. Analytical techniques of scanning electron microscopy images indicated a more closed porosity for cement mortars in the contents of 70% and 50% of cement with residue. Thus, as a conclusion, the utilization of the residue studied as partial replacement material of granulated slag in composite cement type "E" is technically and environmentally feasible.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estudo da viabilidade econômica da implantação de coberturas termoacústicas com painéis fotovoltáicos em edificações: estudo de caso em uma instituição de ensino superior(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-03-20) BRAZ, Sérgio Cabeça; MACEDO, Alcebíades Negrão; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8313864897400179With the evolution of humanity and the appearance of new technologies in civil construction combined with the need for environmental comfort, reduction of environmental impacts and consumption of electricity, it becomes indispensable to use new materials and sources of renewable energy in buildings for reduction costs and environmental impacts. In this scenario, the coverage of the buildings of a higher education institution in the state of Pará was studied aiming at the environmental comfort and reduction of costs in the consumption of electric energy. Exploratory research was carried out, considering the area of the building, type of coverage, the consumption of electric energy and calculations through the projected cash flow with a time horizon of 25 years compatible with the useful life of the system. We thus obtained discounted cash flow, payback and net present value. The results showed that the use of the hermoacoustic tile in the roofs with the implantation of the photovoltaic solar energy system as an alternative for cost reduction is feasible for the studied buildings with a saving of around 13%, time of return 12/13 years (50% of the system's useful life) and NPV of, on average, 44% of the initial investment. For the covered walkways of the Institution that in its totality is approximately 5km, the implantation of the photovoltaic system was not viable.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estudo do comportamento mecânico de um eco-compósito para aplicação como painéis divisórios de ambientes(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2007) MIRANDA, Rossana Martins; DIAS, Carmen Gilda Barroso Tavares; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2113791118142177; MACEDO, Alcebíades Negrão; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8313864897400179The purpose of this research was to study the mechanical behavior of a laminated structural eco-composite applied as divisional panels of ambients, constructed by commercial resin polyurethane based on castor oil, another commercial resin of unsaturated polyester and jute fabric, from sacks. Residues of variegated compositions (hardwood) collected at sawmills of the Metropolitan area of Belém were used, and the effects of the following treatments were studied: drying in stove, thermal bath and the mineralization with aluminum sulfate. The first step of the research was the survey of the theoretical references as support for the experimental program. Next, the constituent materials of the composite were characterized according to methods prescribed by the Brazilian Norms and after being homogenized, lab tests were carried out in the fresh state. The tests in the hardened state were driven in such a way that the mechanical characteristic observed for the evaluation of the effect of the referred treatments was the tensile strength. The results indicated that the used residues inhibit the hydration of the cement matrix, as well as they influence the resistance negatively the tensile strength. The residues treated with drying in stove provided the smallest resistances to the compression observed for the composites; the treatment of thermal bath and the treatment of mineralization presented better results. However, even presenting a slight difference among the medium values for the rupture tensions, they presented statistical equivalence, and they corroborated the statement that the treatment typology used in the residues is preponderant factor to mitigate the harmful effects of the extractives of the wood in the resistance to compression of the mortars.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Patologias em fachadas: análises de casos na Universidade Federal do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-03-28) CARVALHO, Isabella Chaves; PICANÇO, Marcelo de Souza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4535052395600357; MACEDO, Alcebíades Negrão; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8313864897400179The system of external cladding of the building acts as a protective layer and contributes to the proper aspect. The facade is subject to the action of agents of degradation as one of the most exposed areas of the building, with the presence of pathology becoming responsible for high repair costs. Research suggests as a general goal, assess conditions affecting building facades of higher education in the Federal University of Pará, guided by a theoretical basis (literature review) responsible for the first information on the subject. To such as research methodology, we sought to first do a physical survey of facades of 30 buildings in UFPA, identifying cadastral records in the main degradation mechanisms. Then, after quantify / qualify the anomalies present in the sample and point out the most critical building with key injuries and their causes, listed up to this, basic intervention measures in order to solve efficiently the problem caused by proposing a document that acts as technical support for inspection of facades generally. We also used the test to characterize samples in order to prove the origins of those damages which at first could not identify the cause. The results showed that the analyzed buildings have pathological damage of different nature and degree of complexity, ranging from the most complex requiring specific tests to discover their origin, even the most simple, with scheduled maintenance can be eliminated. We conclude that much of the damage happen by human negligence, but that even with an emphasis on quality of execution in facades, there is no way rule out failures or ignore the time of use and the actions of external factors lead to degradation Nature of the building. We conclude that much of the damage happen by human negligence, but that even with an emphasis on quality of execution in facades, there is no way to reject the hypothesis failures or ignore the time of use and the actions of external factors lead to natural degradation of the building. Therefore, to prevent the early onset of pathologies in facades, bringing its useful life and reducing extra costs, it is suggested, implementation procedures based on technical standards enforcement of them, following project criteria and presenting periodic inspections so that preventive measures are taken in apt time.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Substituição parcial do cimento portland por cinzas de Bambu (Bambusa Vulgaris)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-06-28) MENDONÇA, Marcelly de Figueiredo; MACEDO, Alcebíades Negrão; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8313864897400179The partial replacement of Portland cement for industrial waste or materials of natural origin with renewable source is a way that has already been used to minimize the environmental impacts generated during its manufacture, such as CO2 emission, high energy expenditure and exploitation of the limestone deposits. The partial replacement of this binder can further improve certain properties of concrete and mortars and reduce the cost of their production. In this context, bamboo appears as a material with potential to use its ashes in partial replacement to the Portland cement, because it’s a natural material with renewable source and fast growth. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to evaluate the use of bamboo stem ashes (Bambusa Vulgaris) as partial replacement of Portland cement. For that, bamboo stem ashes were produced at three calcination temperatures: 500°C, 600°C and 700°C. The ashes produced at 600ºC obtained a performance index with Portland cement at 28 days higher than that established by NBR 12653 (ABNT, 2014). It was evaluated the hydration of the Portland cement partially substituted by this ash, in proportions of 0, 6, 10 and 14% and it was verified the decrease of the concentration of calcium hydroxide, being more expressive with the incorporation of 10% of ashes. Mortars with the same replacement proportions were evaluated in the fresh and hardened state. The consistency in the fresh state remained constant, while the compressive strength, in the hardened state, increased between 10 and 15% with the addition of the ashes. Therefore, it was concluded that the partial replacement of the Portland cement by bamboo stem ashes calcined at 600ºC presented benefits to the studied samples, characteristic of pozzolanic materials.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Tilojo solo cimento com adição de rejeito de manganês do sudeste paraense(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-04-24) NASCIMENTO, Antonio Carlos Santos do; MACEDO, Alcebíades Negrão; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8313864897400179The housing issue, with regard to constructive inputs used, it is urgent for a paradigm shift that provides the adequacy of the project, many local specificities, as well as playing practice in man in its territory. Considering the Amazon that, like other areas of the country goes through an intense densification of cities, it is still the scene of action, not always positive, large mining projects, which in its wake, bring the issue of disposal of the waste to add the local issues. This work proposes as a solution path for the problem of mineral waste and constructive input: the soil-cement with the addition of mineral waste brick, reject it originates from the southeast of Pará manganese exploration Because the soil with cement brick. waste mineral manganese meet the requirements set by the NBR 8491/2012, presented compressive values above individually to 1.75 MPa, water absorption values lower than 20%, and negligible dimensional change, it still demonstrates its suitability major weather of the region - ultraviolet radiation and humidity - due to the results obtained in the accelerated aging test chamber. The results show promise, and beyond to suit the rules do not interfere significantly in the production process already developed, has large membership possibilities, contributing to building a new paradigm of development.
