Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Amazônicos e tecnológicos: os Suruís de Rondônia e suas articulações globais(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-08-03) COSTA, Tamiles do Espírito Santo; AMARAL FILHO, Otacílio; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2605877670235703This work aims to describe and analyze the experience of the indigenous community Paiter-Suruí, located between the states of Rondonia and Mato Grosso, which experiences a process of technological integration. From materials posted on the internet about the Suruí´s partnerships, specially the partnership formalized with Google, is done a study of the position change of the Amazonian Indians, historically relegated to a subordinated position, who, in this new technological scenario, gains voice and ability to interfere in their own narrative, in particular using the internet. The concepts of "to see" and "to look", "social capital" and an overview on the imaginary built about the Indians, intends to subsidize a brief phenomenological analysis supported by a field research, which aims to understand how the Suruís see subjectively the objective phenomena they experience. In addition, other discussions will be raised during the work, such as post-colonialism, the dialogue between tradition and modernity and hybridization of cultures.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Anti-homofobia no futebol paraense: engajamento social nas torcidas de Remo e Paysandu(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-06-25) SOUSA, Milene Costa de; AMARAL FILHO, Otacílio; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2605877670235703This dissertation addresses the configuration of social engagement against homophobia by the fans of Remo and Paysandu and both clubs from Pará on the internet. As an empirical object, the positions of the barras bravas organised supporters' groups of football Camisa 33 and Banda Alma Celeste were selected; and the Remo and Paysandu clubs, published on their official Facebook pages. The sociation processes in the sense of visibility brought by the communication have enabled discussions about homophobia, which in 2019 was criminalized in Brazil by the Superior Federal Court. Such discussions reached the football arenas and the cultural spectacle of football, where homophobia is often performed by fans. The guiding question is: how is the anti-homophobic social engagement process being carried out amidst the cultural spectacle of Pará football? The main objective is to explain the social engagement against homophobia in Pará football, which in turn is marked by the rivalry between Remo and Paysandu and their respective fans, not just explaining, but went further by proposing a reflection on the universe of football and the practices of homophobia and against homophobia.. The methodology used is content analysis according to Laurence Bardin (1977), and qualitative and bibliographic research to obtain adequate theoretical references, such as Édison Gastaldo (2005), Itamar Gaudêncio (2003), Georg Simmel (1983), Roberto DaMatta (1982) , Manoel Tubino (2001), Frederico Coelho (2006) and Mauricio Murad (2012), for studies that made it possible to approach the proposed subject. The result of the research points out that the engagement against homophobia means a new context in football, which has the internet as a fundamental piece so that it is more relevant and developed in the midst of the Paraense and Brazilian soccer spectacle.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Belém metropolitana: representações midiáticas sobre o modo de vida urbano de Belém nas webséries a Solteirona e Sampleados(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-06-02) SOUZA, Victor Lopes de; AMARAL FILHO, Otacílio; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2605877670235703This work deals with media representations about the city of Belém presented in the productions "A Solteirona" (2013) and "Sampleados" (2015). We assume that hegemonic media represent elements that invisibilize populations and urban nuclei as much as they value the demographic void and biodiversity of the Amazon region. In this way, we argue that webseries present a differentiated approach by making urban environments the protagonists of their narratives. Thus, we establish as a research problem "how do belenian webs elaborate elements of representations about the urban way of life in Belém?" Our general objective is to identify the media representations about the urban way of life of Belém in webseries from Belém/PA. The specific objectives are: to identify the Central Core of the Representations in the fictional media context on Belém, through analysis of comments in the websodes posts; to identify the peripheral system of representations in the fictional media context about the city of Belém, based on the analysis of comments in the posts of the websodes; to identify the themes through which the webseries represent the urban context of the city of Belém. In this study, we used two methodological approaches. The first one is to observe the media representations. For this, we anchor ourselves in S. C. Cole's proposition of analysis from the pragmatic and cognitive dimensions of the representations. The second approach has the objective of identifying the central core of the representations researched from the comments published in the websodes’ posts. We use J. C. Abric's methodological procedures, based on the writings of C. P. Sá. As results, we observed that both webseries present different approaches on Belém. We also identified that comments feature music as the main element of the central core of representations.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O canto de um presságio: a ressignificação de tradições socioculturais no Cordão de Pássaro Colibri(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-03-30) PELAES, Laís Teixeira da Silva; AMARAL FILHO, Otacílio; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2605877670235703Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A emersão do carimbó urbano: um gênero marginal do carimbó(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-11-05) LEITE JÚNIOR, Daniel da Rocha; AMARAL FILHO, Otacílio; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2605877670235703This research aims to demonstrate that the urban carimbó has emerged in recent years as a movement and also a lifestyle for the Stampers of the Metropolitan Region of Belém (RMB). In this way, the intention is to show why this type of cultural manifestation is configured as legitimate - despite the absence of its registration in the patrimonialization process carried out by the Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional (IPHAN) during the years 2008 to 2013 that generated the research on the identity of the carimbó and resulted in the Carimbó Dossier in 2014, therefore, there is no investigation a deep investigation on the carimbó produced in urban spaces, therefore, this research focused on the absence of registration and on the existence of an urban resignification of the carimbo. In this way, the focus of this research was to recognize the matrices that constitute the bases for the emergence of the urban carimbó, from a methodology of participant observation conceptualized by Malinowski (1975) and anchored in convergence with the multi-situated ethnography of Marcus (1995), focusing on the subjective character of the subjects and objects analyzed, as well as an analysis of the trajectory of the carimbó sets Caruana and Cobra Venenosa based on a bibliographic clipping provided in the research on carimbó by Salles (1969), Gabbay (2012) and Amaral (2004). ), in addition to cultural studies on the hybridization processes postulated by Canclini (2003) and cultural diaspora by Hall (1996) and, also, studies on urban spaces made by Lefebvre (2006) and Harvey (2014) to demonstrate how this movement urban carimbó reshapes the identity of the traditional manifestation of carimbó, by developing new forms of sociality.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Espetáculos Culturais Amazônicos: a festa como resistência e experiência estética(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-03-24) LIMA, Nair Santos; AMARAL FILHO, Otacílio; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2605877670235703; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5467-8528The thesis deals with the Amazonian cultural festivals with an emphasis on cultural shows, which, over time, have been re-signified from their traditional places. The visibility of these events occurs through mediatization, a process obtained by the technological means of communication and enhanced by a model of globalization, which naturalizes them as a marketing product. In conducting the research, the difference between "Amazonian festivals", which are cultural manifestations within the scope of the Brazilian territory (Legal Amazon), and "Amazonian cultural festivals" - culminating with the "Amazonian cultural shows", which are those constituted of the aesthetic experience of the imaginary of these populations and, therefore, typical of the riverside or caboclo culture. It was noticed, even though the term “caboclo” has been reconfigured since the knowledge of these peoples revealed a unique importance in the cultural context and inserted in the academic spaces of the various sciences, consubstantiated, above all, in the idea of a specific Amazonian culture, of intrinsic characteristics of the Amazonian being, as well as the understanding of Amazonian researchers on the subject. The locus of enunciation takes place in the cities of Juruti and Santarém, in the state of Pará and in the city of Parintins, in Amazonas, whose corpus of analysis are the festival of the tribes, the festival of Sairé, and the folkloric festival of Parintins. Bibliographical research was the procedure that conducted all phases of this study and the analysis of the phenomenon is theoretically and methodologically based on semiotic conversion – mental activity of a symbolic nature produced by human thought and which acts in the production of new meanings. The corpus is based on three documentaries contemplated by the Aldir Blanc law referring to the three parties, however, other audiovisuals about the environment of the parties posted on YouTube, and selected by criteria of relevance, representativeness and participation of the organizers and/or “party makers”. served as support for the analysis. From this perspective, it is understood that the Amazonian cultural shows are means of expressiveness and resistance of a culture that operates as a form of communication, and that through the YouTube platform and languages of digital or mediatized communication, the place is transposed, gains visibility, profit and produces new meanings, whether through the re-establishment of belonging ties with the local culture or the ways of celebrating and being- together.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Festa e fé: o afeto como produtor da comunicação midiática no espetáculo Çairé de Alter do Chão(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-04-28) BARBOSA, Erika Siqueira; AMARAL FILHO, Otacílio; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2605877670235703This dissertation reflects on the communicational phenomenon that occurs from the sense that the community of Alter do Chão confers to the cultural spectacle of Çairé. It analyzes culture in postmodernity, tradition and invention of the party in daily and routine activities in a study of interactions. Based on the study of the lived human, it seeks to understand the communicability of feelings from the perspective of the sensitive, from what affects the other, from the change of life and from the transformations suffered in the community with the cultural consumption of Çairé. Through participant observation, during and after the event, he investigates the changes faced in the community, the mediatization of the feast and the introduction of amazonian legends, such as that of the porpoises in the Çairé, which has the first records of its origin in the evangelizing missions of the Jesuit priests with the Indians Borari, 350 years ago, in the village of Alter do Chão, in Santarém, in western Pará. IN THE STREETS: An Archaeology of Power and Resistance in the June Days" aims to discuss the subject of respect, power and strength from the thought of Michel Foucault. Discuss the contraconduta of young people in the events of June Days by anarchaeology analytical perspective of knowledge, a term invented by him in the course 'government of the living' delivered in 1980, which focuses on the interplay between discourse and history, practices government through historical processes by which truth and subjectivity are indexed to the obedience of production in the exercise of power that Foucault will equip the concept of governmentality. It discusses, from historical conditions of possibilities opened up by the "disobedience of subjects" on the streets an opposition culture and resistance potentially insurgent citizenship. The problem that we propose, is configured in the following premise: what this guy can say about, for or against the power that assujeita? In fact, as the power that is exercised over indiscipline, rebellion, insurrection produced the true discourse of freedom, pleasure and politics? In this perspective o¬s events June structure and restructure the discourse orders a transgression posture anarchic face the truth regimes.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Like a pro: dinâmicas sociais no e-sport(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-04-04) MACEDO, Tarcízio Pereira; AMARAL FILHO, Otacílio; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2605877670235703Starting from an understanding of the social coming from the simmelian work, this research seeks to understand the social dynamics of a team of semiprofessional players of the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) League of Legends (League or LoL) in the local competitive community of Belém, in the Pará. Through a micro-sociological approach, the objective is to understand the process of formation and maintenance of the social fabric among players who engage in the organized competitive digital game, also known as electronic sport (e-sport) or pro gaming. This study specifically focuses on understanding how group dynamics between players and teams is manifested in this particular competitive context, of how the social fabric is created and developed at the core of that group by trying to understand how it constitutes a variety of nuances in social dynamics, inserting more specifically in communication, camaraderie and team organization. In order to do so, based on an ethnographic study carried out with a team from the city, a theoretical framework based on a multidisciplinary theoretical matrix is developed, engendering elements of the fields of Communication Studies, Game Studies, sports and social sciences, articulating these through an anthropological and sociological sensibility. In general terms, it is concluded that the path to competitive career progression for professionals is strongly dependent on an active process of socialization between players and teams in a professional identification resulting from a whole series of actors and forces. In addition, the research demonstrates that although a functional bias is responsible for stimulating the formation of the social fabric in most teams of the local scenario, there is a particular social experience of growing relevance, an ethos of camaraderie created both among players in a team, as well as between teams, that operates as a powerful vector either for the maintenance of the social fabric or for an instrumental/functional end - of the competitive progression - facing the challenges towards professionalization. The period of coexistence, observation and contact with the interlocutors dates from June 2016 to February 2018.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Luta por reconhecimento: uma análise intersubjetiva das histórias de vida de catadoras de materiais recicláveis(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-08-30) CORTEZ, Flávia Celeira; AMARAL FILHO, Otacílio; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2605877670235703The recycled garbage pickers as a labor category constitute a social phenomenon in the global south and expresses economic, social and environmental contradictions in the dynamics of global capitalism. In Latin America, this category is organized through the Latin American and Caribbean Network of Recyclers - RedLacre, on a national scale by the National Movement of Gabage Pickers - MNCR, and in Pará through the networks: Rede Recicla Pará, Rede CataPará and Rede CentPará, composed of several cooperatives and associations in the Metropolitan Region and interiors. Throughout the research, it is clear that the struggle for recognition is the statement that unites both the discourse of the social movement and the history of life and subjectivity of these people, the major theme on which work and life are based. Based on this perception, the aim of this research was to understand how the relationship between the dimensions of the Fighting to be Recognition proposed by Axel Honneth (2009) dialogues and makes explicit the relations of Coloniality of Power (Quijano, 2005) from the narratives of life stories of garbage pickers. The research presents in chapter 1 the contextualization of garbage pickers today within cooperatives and associations based on research carried out at the Federal University of Pará, and discusses research potentialities within this context. Chapter 2 deals with the coloniality of power from Quijano and Mignolo (2005) to understand other perspectives for interpreting the subjective and material complexities in Latin America. Chapter 3 presents the concept of Fighting to be Recognition in Honneth (2009) from the dimensions of love, law and social esteem, as concepts for analyzing the life stories of recyclable pickers from a perspective of how these statements they approach the fighting to be recognition and permeate the construction of subjectivities in coloniality.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A marca Instituto Evandro Chagas e a Amazônia enquanto território produtor de ciência(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-06-26) BASTOS, Fábio Augusto Silva; AMARAL FILHO, Otacílio; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2605877670235703; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5467-8528This study analyzes the brand discourse of the Instituto Evandro Chagas (IEC) considered one of the most important research institutions in the North region founded in 1936, to understand how this discourse presents the Amazon region as a territory that produces science. Four institutional disclosure documents of the IEC from 1990 to 2021 and semi-structured interviews with researchers from the institution were used as research corpus, in addition to documents referring to the history of the Institute. This is an exploratory qualitative research, as a methodology for brand analysis, it uses a multiperspective approach (BONIN, 2008) with brand concepts and project/manifestations model proposed by Semprini (2010) together with the theory of social discourses, media discourse analysis, and reading contract of Verón (1983; 1986; 1987; 2004). As a theoretical view to observe the investments in the brand's meaning, the concept of the Amazon Brand (AMARAL, 2011, 2015, 2016) is used with other authors who analyze the Amazon region, its history, imagery, and symbolic constructions (COSTA, 2017; DUTRA, 2003; GONDIM, 2007; LOUREIRO, 2022). Decolonial theories (QUIJANO, 1993; MIGNOLO, 2003, 2017) and abyssal thinking (BOAVENTURA, 2009) are also used as an epistemological basis for a critical point of view about symbolic constructions of the hegemonic model of science as a way of legitimizing Eurocentric superiority and as a factor of geopolitical hierarchization in the production of knowledge. As a result, there is an ambiguous condition: it appears that the Amazon region is discredited and peripheral when the local production of science is in focus, but at the same time, it retains a high degree of visibility in the production of science in/ and about the Amazon.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O movimento da Zwanga African fashion: comunicação e moda ativista como prática decolonial na Amazônia-amapaense(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-12-20) NEVES, Lúcio Dias das; AMARAL FILHO, Otacílio; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2605877670235703; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5467-8528The thesis analyzed the understanding of the communicative experience of women who participated in the fashion shows proposed by Zwanga in the 2020, 2022 and 2023 editions, as well as a small sample of men who participated in the 2023 edition. Studying Zwanga as a locus of doctoral research transcends fashion, as it articulates the creative economy, entrepreneurship, and the restoration of the self-esteem of Afro-Brazilians. The theoretical foundation was based on the works of researchers from the Amazon como Amaral Filho (2016), tendo suas idéias reforçadas em autores como Tarcízio Silva (2020), Joaze Bernardino-Costa, Nelson Maldonado-Torres e Ramón Grosfoguel (2018) e Molefi Kete Asante (2009) who strengthen the ideas about decoloniality based on local culture, racism, maraçá, quilombismo and other manifestations of Afro-Amapaense culture and an important approach to Zwanga and other cultural manifestations of Amapá . Communication research is basic in nature, using as a case study the means for investigating the Afro-Amazonian traditions and heritages that permeate the Zwanga movement. Under this approach, we opted for an explanatory and participatory type of research – since the author is part of and knows himself in this process, to study specific phenomena, in an analytical and critical way, referring to the universe of Afro-entrepreneurial fashion in Amapá – the experience of Zwanga. For data collection and analysis, several open interviews were used with the Afroentrepreneur and semi-structured interviews with women and men who participated in Zwanga's fashion and social events between the period 2020–2023.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Música e tecnointerações na Amazônia paraense: retóricas e identificações culturais em materialidades do Terruá Pará e da Banda de Thrash Metal Antcorpus(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-08-09) BAENA, Talita Cristina Araujo; AMARAL FILHO, Otacílio; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2605877670235703There are times mankind has experienced a long process of social mediatization, intensified by the advent of the playing techniques of art and culture. This process, in contemporary times, enabled the transformation of real experience in the music-historical experience media. In this context, culture and business merge and globalize, restructuring each other. In Paraense Amazon, the complexity and possibilities of this media experience of music has led the region to another wave of adjustments to global contexts. The dissertation deals of communication processes and cultural identity through materiality of two phenomena of contemporary music experience perceived in Paraense Amazon: the dissemination of music project - Terruá Para - and thrash metal band Antcorpus. The analysis started from the reflection that the communication can be understood as a hermeneutic of existence, crossed by a mediatical ambiance. Among the observations recorded, stood out because of its importance: the social mediatization through technological interactions, namely, tecnointeractions that vectorize appropriation, and incorporation of musical expressions, both groups of young as professionals related to local cultural industries. To vectorize these processes through mediatical images of musical experiences, the tecnointeractions exhibit sound experiences of the town, which in some cases suffered metonymic processes that evidence a standard system of feeling, which here is called aesthesis policy.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Narrativas orais: vestígios da história da Comunidade da Praia do Crispim-PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-05-03) SANTOS, Maria Mirlley Farias dos; AMARAL FILHO, Otacílio; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2605877670235703; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5467-8528The present research carried out a communication study with the purpose of collecting and registering, in written form, the oral narratives in order to identify possible traces of the history of the Community of Praia do Crispim-PA, so as to understand how the community emerged and became one of the most relevant to the Salgado region. To collect the narratives, we counted on the collaboration of social actors who are important to the community, because both were among the first to migrate to the place, and because they have memories, practices, and knowledge about the beach region, besides having a strong relationship with the place they live in. The interest in this research arose after finding out that there are no official records that relate the history of the community. Thus, the goal of this research is to show how oral narratives can contribute to the anderstanding of the history and memory of the community. As well as to register the oral narratives, so that one can understand how the Crispim community emerged, as well as how the environment and the social life of the community changed over time. As a theoretical basis we rely on those who address the study of narratives: Ricoeur (1994), Souza (2010), Halbwachs (2013) and Benjamin (1985). About the concepts of memories and history: Le Goff (1990), Maciel (2017), and Sodré (2002). The field research emerged in the methodological molds of narrative research by Motta (2013, 2017) and the notes of Jovchelovitch & Bauer (2008) on the narrative interview, which is considered a qualitative research method, unstructured and in-depth interview.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Narrativas orais: vestígios da história da Comunidade da Praia do Crispim-PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-05-03) SANTOS, Maria Mirley Farias dos; AMARAL FILHO, Otacílio; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2605877670235703; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5467-8528The present research carried out a communication study with the purpose of collecting and registering, in written form, the oral narratives in order to identify possible traces of the history of the Community of Praia do Crispim-PA, so as to understand how the community emerged and became one of the most relevant to the Salgado region. Therefore, the research provides a discussion of these concepts that guide consumption practices as cultural shows, social network and online digital consumer , besides deepening themes as online and offline media bios, consumers , fans , Facebook as online media consumption , among others . For this research, we chose as the methodology proposed by Muniz Sodré (2007) , the tripartite model, which proposes the description, analysis and interpretation of communication phenomena, and as a method of procedure netnography (Amaral , Recuero and Fragoso , 2011), for own research online ambiences. The observation and analysis of the research being carried out from November 2012 to December 2013.
