Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Alô, Alô Amazônia: o rádio que o ouvinte também faz(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-12-20) WANDERLEY, Patrícia Teixeira Azevedo; COSTA, Luciana Miranda; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1310961057480638; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3843-4499This research proposes to analyze the discourse produced by the listeners of Rádio Difusora de Macapá, seeking to understand the relationship between the radio station and its audience. By addressing the characteristics of the amazonian persona, through messages and notices spread by the Alô, alô Amazônia broadcast, we seek to analyze the text, its marks and attributes. The main theoretical and methodological framework is based on authors such as Benetti, Bakhtin and Bourdieu. We acknowledge the relevance of radio for the riverside communities from the states of Pará and Amapá, even with the effervescence of social networks, emphasizing the relation established between listeners and radio broadcasters. The quantitative analysis of 117 messages also revealed that the female audience is the one that sends the most messages and the male audience is the one that receives the most. The texts draws attention to the kinship that precedes these people's names; to the river, its main avenue; to the river network, its main mean of transport; and to the different religions, which are part of the daily life and habits of the riverside dwellers.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Amazônia ameaçada: análise do discurso jornalístico nos portais de notícias O Liberal.com – PA e A Crítica – AM sobre desmatamento e queimadas no contexto da pandemia da COVID-19(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2022-07-26) MANGAS, Laiza Monik de Oliveira; COSTA, Luciana MirandaThe year 2020 was marked by the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and the increase in deforestation and fires in Brazilian Amazon. Data from Inpe (2020) recorded 10,312, 88 km2 of consolidated deforestation in the region, in addition to 103,161 outbreaks of fires during that year. Months of August and September were the ones with the highest rate of fires and the states of Pará, Mato Grosso and Amazonas accounted for 70% of deforestation. Meanwhile, "the herd passed" [a figure of speech refering to Ricardo Salles speech] with the approval of 593 acts by the federal government related to changes in rules on environmental protection in Brazil (OBSERVATÓRIO DO CLIMA, 2021). Amid the health, political and environmental crisis, journalism played an important role in providing information to population (CASERO-RIPOLLÉS, 2020). In this context, this research analyzes how was the coverage on deforestation and burning in two of the main news portals of the North region of the country: “O Liberal.com – PA” and “A Crítica – AM”, during the month of September 2020, considering the pandemic period and its adversities. The main theoretical and methodological framework chosen was the Critical Discourse Analysis - CDA (FAIRCLOUGH, 2001). Through the analysis of the newspapers it can be concluded that Jair Bolsonaro government, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, managed to occupy a privileged space in the publications, with a speech aimed at alleviating the problems in the Amazon and widely reproduced by the two newspapers without significant counterpoints. Justifications that attributed deforestation and burning to the climate itself in Amazon and to agricultural activities traditionally carried out by rural, indigenous and quilombola communities were used. In addition, the credibility of scientific data on the subject disclosed by institutions such as the National Institute for Space Research - INPE was questioned.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Amazônia ameaçada: análise do discurso jornalístico nos portais de notícias O Liberal.com – PA e A Crítica – AM sobre desmatamento e queimadas no contexto da pandemia da COVID-19(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2022-07-26) MANGAS, Laiza Monik de Oliveira; COSTA, Luciana Miranda; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1310961057480638; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3843-4499The year 2020 was marked by the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and the increase in deforestation and fires in Brazilian Amazon. The investigation was based on documents and literature to support the discussions of representation processes, construction and circulation of meanings in games, especially on digital games, and briefly introduces the transformation of representative capacities of these media products over its history. For the description and analysis of the empirical object, it was sought the construction of analytical model representations in digital games, based on theoretical contributions of Denise Jodelet (1989), Mikhail Bakhtin (1995), Stuart Hall (2003, 2005) and José Luiz Braga (2012) and in the methodological proposals directed to digital games of Ian Bogost (2007, 2008), Cristiano Pinheiro (2007) and Felipe Teixeira (2007), respectively, procedural rhetoric, the digital game model and dynamic hermeneutics. Following the proposed model of analysis, it was conducted a survey of digital games which submitted representations of Amazon in its contents to verify aspects relatable to those found in BRO. It was found that the meanings built in BRO reinforce numerous stereotypes about the Amazon region, in order to present similarities with the meanings contained in digital games discovered in mapping. Nevertheless, it is believed that digital games are configured as a potential media to value and debate about the Amazon region, showing a reality that enables forthcoming researches.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Antagonismo político na arena midiática: escândalos na eleição ao governo do Pará em 2014(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-03-20) MORAES, Lázaro Cardoso de; COSTA, Luciana Miranda; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1310961057480638This research analyzed newspaper articles published during the political campaign in 2014 for governor of Pará State in the local newspapers O Liberal and Diário do Pará aiming to identify phrases, key-words and other editorial resources – such as headlines, photo captions, photographs, infographs and facsimiles – in order to check if both papers took part in the construction of media political scandals so as to demage the opponents’ simbolic capital and influence the electors’ opinion. Considering that O Liberal declared support for the re-election of governor Simão Jatene and Diário do Pará for Helder Barbalho – who is son of senator Jader Barbalho and former mayor of Ananindeua municpality, in Belém Metropolitan region, we collected 100 articles published in both papers. Each of them was analysed based on two forms referring to quantity and quality data – such as if the article was the main headline of the newspaper; internal page headline; if it was published on even or odd pages or if it showed graphical resources; and another for the quality information: if the two sides involved were interviewed; if the article was against the candidates’ administration, their relatives or political allies; if the article was framed as political scandal, or even if there was omission of any public agent accused. Among the authors who provided theory reference to embase our research are Thompson (2002), Bourdieu (1998), Bakhtin (2006) and Mainguenau (2013), references for discourse analysis of the articles published in both newspapers. Based on the quantitative as well as qualitative data collected, we analysed how the newspapers do to say what they say, going through the discourse strategies each of them used on the construction of media political scandals aiming to conquer political power. In the end, we concluded that both newspapers not only worked on the attempt to influence the electors’ votes, as well as adopted similar discourse strategies, characterizing a sui generis form of political antagonism between the two communication groups which suported their respective candidates for governor of the State.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O aplicativo alerta clima indígena: digitalização das terras indígenas à luz da ecologia da comunicação(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-11-17) RAYOL, Clarissa da Silva; COSTA, Luciana MirandaThis dissertation aims to analyze, in the light of the ecology of communication, the digitization of Indigenous Lands experienced by the Alerta Clima Indígena application, developed by Ipam together with the Raoni Institute, Indigenous of Roraima (CIR) and the Commission of Chiefs and Leaders of the Araribóia Indigenous Land (CCOCALITIA), whose purpose is to disseminate scientific data on climate, fire and deforestation of Indigenous Lands in the Brazilian Amazon. The platform also has resources for creating alerts against threats to Indigenous Lands and inserting information about traditional uses such as hunting, fishing and gathering. In this context, based on ecology of communication (DI FELICE, 2017), this characterization is an experimental and qualitative research context of the immersive perspective in which the researcher enters the networks and integrates as supplying all in das. In the investigative path, we present a description of the app's partner associations and the collaborative construction of indigenous workshops while, later, we immerse ourselves in the app's interactive architectures and then analyze the independent processes experienced by the Mẽbêngôkôkókre (Kayapó) people, from the perspective of two residents of the Capoto/Jarina Indigenous Land located in the state of Mato Grosso. In this sense, the experience of digitization, of Indigenous Lands, from the Alerta Clima Indígena app in the “creation of hybrid worlds” (DI FELICE, 2021), where scientific data, technologies, rains, wind, animals and how trees have their own capabilities and are transformed by them, as well as indigenous peoples and creativity in the forms of appropriation of the invention from the new practices for the Management of Indigenous Lands.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Ciência em comunicação: estudo exploratório sobre os processos comunicacionais no Clube do Pesquisador Mirim do Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-07-05) LOPES, Suzana Cunha; MALCHER, Maria Ataide; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5418062253829906; COSTA, Luciana Miranda; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1310961057480638The communication of science is commonly associated to the contents and media formats that contemplate the theme of science. Besides the media centrality, the conceptions and practices of communication of science are usually based on a diffusion and linear model that separates, in opposite poles, people who “have knowledge” (scientists) and the society in general. In this dissertation, however, we ask what is communicational in the relationships between science and society, that we realize to be beyond the presence of a technological apparatus, as well as it involves relationships more complex than a simple transfer of knowledge. So, we invest ourselves in order to understand the communicational dimensions of an Amazon experience developed by the Museum of Pará Emílio Goeldi: the Club of the Little Researcher. The club has the proposal to offer to the students of basic education some experiences of sharing and production of scientific knowledge, in a collaborative and interactive way. Our challenge was developing an exploratory research, by a transmethodological perspective, congregating qualitative and quantitative procedures in the construction of an object of study in the area of Communication. In this course, the analysis of the communicational processes developed and triggered by the Club happened from the constant relationship of our referential with what the empiric made us possible to observe and interpret. We work with a collaborative and dialogic methodology, through procedures of reception, that allows us to analyze the communicational processes in the Club and also analyzing it from the perception of the participant subjects on, besides experiencing the communicational dimensions in our own process of research. From a bigger discussion about science and communication, we developed the critic of the communication of science and other denominations related, which led us to work with the concept of communication of science as a process that puts in circulation practices and several conceptions, joining the functional and the normative, the positivist and the post-modern, the functionalist and the dialogic, the simple and the complex, the subject and the object, in varied measures and proportions, in immediate and infinite times. We found, in the club experience, some communicational dimensions (sharing, seduction, affection, conviction and convincing, negotiation and coexistence, appropriation, active role of the subject and incommunication), which are constituted as elements that promote the beginning and the continuity of the communicational flows of the science. So we understand that the contribution of our area to the discussion about the theme of communication of science is to reflect, evidence and problematize that the communication isn’t only in the diffusion of the results of a research, but it is inherent to the process of construction of the scientific knowledge, above all, in the contemporaneity.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Ciência, comunicação e meio ambiente: processos comunicacionais e estratégias de socialização do conhecimento no projeto Espaço ITEC Cidadão na UFPA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-12-03) QUEIROZ, Fábrício Natalino Bentes; COSTA, Luciana Miranda; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1310961057480638; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3843-4499The interaction between science and society through initiatives of socialization of knowledge has been intensely developed since the 18th century. However, in a scenario of paradigmatic transformations in science, these actions are reconfigured from the influence of several factors, such as criticism of the principles of modernity, the appreciation of different social groups, their knowledge and their cultures, and the strengthening of the communication field. This research starts from the understanding of these phenomena to discuss the interrelation between science, communication and environment to investigate the role of environmental communication in an extensionist action called Espaço ITEC Cidadão, held in the Camillo Vianna and Benito Calzavara woods, located on the Guamá campus of the Federal University of Pará. The main thread is the notion of public communication of science applied to environmental issues, which, in our view, dialogues with the critical debate on the strategies of domination and coloniality, in which science and communication are involved. The exploratory research uses secondary source information about the activities carried out in the Espaço ITEC Cidadão over 15 months and published in the project's profile on the social network Instagram. In addition, the research is supported by an interview, data collection in records of the activities and other materials that reference the project's performance in order to understand the dynamics of interaction between the three fields in this case. The results indicate that there is an interface between science, communication and environment verified by the parallels existing between the different perspectives and models proposed in each area. In the case of the Espaço ITEC Cidadão, this manifests itself in the way the project articulates conceptions of instrumental content to the promotion of a broad debate about sustainability, encompassing the idea of resistance, collectivity and solidarity, for example. Thus, it is evident the tensions and negotiations existing in this relationship, as well as its reflection on the debate abourt social role of knowledge and universities.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A construção da imagem da mulher no cinema de ficção produzido na Amazônia paraense(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-03-01) SOUSA, Raissa Lennon Nascimento; COSTA, Luciana Miranda; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1310961057480638The main goal of this resarche was to observe the construction of the woman’s imagine in the fiction movies made at paraense Amazon, according to the constant speeches in the plots and its main iconic elements. We can understand that the presence of women in cinema is very significant, assuming relevant characters in contemporary. Thus, contemporary movies highlight the woman as the main subject of the plots selected. The analysis corpus consists of short movies released in a period of effervescence of Para cinema, from 2010 to 2012: " Matinta " (2010 ) , Fernando Segtowick ; " Bordering the Asphalt " (2011 ) , by Jorane Castro ; "Birds Walkers and Bois Flying " (2011 ) , Luiz Arnaldo Campos ; and " Juliana Against Jambeiro Devil by John the Baptist Heart " (2012) , Roger Elarrat . Authors from the area of communication and especially the cinema , linguistics and Philosophy were used in analytical construction of the chosen corpus , as Michel Courtine (2005 ) , Jacques Aumont (2002 ; 2008) , Walter Benjamin (1994 ) , Pêcheux (1995 ; 1997) and Michel Foucault (2000 ; 2008) . Based on the four movies analyzed, we can conclude that the image of contemporary Amazonian woman in fiction movies is the women who while maintaining submission elements in relation to man , they conquisted their space using courage, work, seduction and femininity, spaces of action and emancipation in the environments they live ( urban or rural ).Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Desenvolvimento e socioambientalismo: uma análise do discurso jornalístico de O Liberal e Diário do Pará sobre a Usina Hidrelétrica de Belo Monte(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-07-24) SILVA, Josiele Sousa da; COSTA, Luciana Miranda; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1310961057480638The debate on Belo Monte Hydroelectric construction feasibility, in Xingu region of Pará state, came back to the pages of two major newspapers in Pará, O Liberal and Diário do Pará, after 30 years of project creation by the federal government of Brazil. In the period from May, 5th 2009 to set, 30th 2010, the publications reconstructed the established combat atmosphere among various social agents and institutions about the hydroelectric project, publishing 475 newspaper articles on the subject, considering editorials, interviews, articles, notes, headlines, factual news and reports. To understand the communication process/discursive production and repetition of meanings embodied in the journalistic texts, it opted for the French methodology of discourse analysis, with attention to the relationship between communication and discourse, presented discursive formations in the texts as well as the expression of interdiscursivity. The result of the analysis, exemplified by the presentation of discursive sequences, taken from 32 selected texts of the main body and divided into subthemes, showed that there is a predominance of the development discourse at the expense of social and environmental discourse, with strong links to other speeches already said about Amazon. This is still seen as a place full of riches to be exploited and to serve the interests outside the region. It is also evident the appreciation of officials statements and conservationist NGO representatives, artists and researchers. The Forest Folks remain in a visibility lower level in the reconstruction of the controversy about Belo Monte Hydroelectric.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O discurso midiático sobre mudanças climáticas: análise da cobertura ambiental de o Liberal e Folha de São Paulo(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-03-21) SILVA, André Luiz Palmeira da; DUTRA, Manuel José Sena; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2597192749872675; COSTA, Luciana Miranda; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1310961057480638The study objective consisted of analyzing the discourse of climate change produced by O Liberal and Folha de S. Paulo newspapers in their coverage of the environment in 2015, when the Paris Climate Conference, also known as COP-21, was held. A comparative analysis among the discourses of the newspapers was performed, embracing the same period and using the same theoretical-methodological reference, which presents as main basis the Semiology of Social Discourse, through concepts such as Polyphony. In order to define our scope, we approached the work of authors such as Eliseo Verón and Mikhail Bakhtin. The research methodology is anchored in the Discourse Analysis of French strand. The concept of Discursive Formation, by Michel Foucault, was also employed. In order to operationalize our methodology, we referred to the online platform of the respective newspapers to consult the editions and analyze the journalistic texts. In total, 38 texts of Folha de S. Paulo and 27 texts of O Liberal newspaper were analyzed.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Mídia e violência: os discursos construídos pelo programa de rádio Estação Direitos sobre maioridade penal(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-03-01) ESTEVES, Lorena Cruz; COSTA, Luciana Miranda; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1310961057480638Several Brazilian publications inform against the fragmented, superficial and decontextualized treatment when the media deals with adolescents who have committed infringments (CARLSON & VON FEILITZEN, 1999; 2002; BALLAS..., 2000; NJAINE & VIVARTA, 2005; ANDRADE, 2006; NERY, 2008; ANDI, 2005, 2011, 2012a, 2012b, 2013; ROTHBERG, 2014; VARJÃO, 2015; ESTEVES et al., 2015). By analyzing the bibliographic research, it appears that media coverage is biased negative and often violates the human rights of adolescents, guaranteed by the Statute of Children and Adolescents (BRAZIL, 1990). This type of coverage ends up generating diversified directions on the perception that Brazilian society has regarding adolescents in conflict with the law, influencing the public debate on reducing the penal age. From this context, this research defined as the object of study the Estação Direitos radio show, produced by the non-governmental organization Radio Margarida, for presenting itself with a different proposal from the allegedly commercial media. In this sense, the overall goal was to identify whether and especially how the program is countered to a dominant discourse, which permeates the collective imagination, without repeating the most common discourse used by the media, according to existing literature, on the coverage of offense and criminal responsibility. As methodology, the corpus of the research was delimited from the cut of the 5 programs that directly addressed on the subject and also issues related to it. The analysis method was the french Side of Discourse Analysis (BRANDÃO, H., 2012; FOUCAULT, 1995; MAINGUENEAU, 1987). Based on the methodology adopted, the intention was to make a correlation between the discursive formations found with the ideological formation, since the speech is one of the instances where ideological materiality is concretized (FIORIN, 1995). So this is an ex-post-facto research, which studies the fact that has already happened (PANCERA, 2009), but it helps to map an entire discursive memory regarding an already-said on the subject, which may contribute to future research in area. The final remarks indicated that the Estação Direitos station radio show, treating about legal age, managed to achieve the proposed goal which was to address the issue in a different way from the undertaken routing by the mainstream media, bringing to light, other perspectives with a targeting that went against the Statute of Children and Adolescents, despite exalting some speeches, to the detriment of others, and little to address the rights violations committed by the mainstream media. In general, it can be seen that the programs analyzed, prioritized a differentiated approach, covering speeches that have little space in media coverage.
