The choice of the ethnographic method provided a qualitative and closest approach of the avenue residents‘, allowing us to an analysis of the interactions, the memory of the residents, the daily lives of passersby, traditional activities of formal and non-formal working, from the first decades of the XX century. During the immersions in the avenue, we use the interviews to record the historical and affective memory of the passerby, who works and who lives on the avenue, as well as we use the photographic record as a way of highlighting the transformations in the architecture. In response to the guiding research question "How to preserve the architectural diversity of the Avenue, considering the changes that have occurred and the social dynamics of the place?" We conclude that the knowledge gained from the incursions in the field will allow the appreciation of the cultural heritage found in the stretch where a marked change in the customs and local ambience is visible. Through actions adapted by cultural institutions located in the Avenue, we can make the daily activities of the streets, where the human relationships are found, work and friendship ones, as well as routine activities that have the testimony of personal and social events. The study is restricted to the type of residential basement and a deck in specimens without definite authorship. The research also considers the importance of facades in construction of collective identity, based on a sense of belonging in the community. Therefore, using the ethnographic method in the apprehension of memory, since the interventions historic preservation often disregards the need to address the conflict between the old (original stylistic features of the building) and the new (current needs or preferences ), an old dilemma between permanence and change. To conduct the analysis, we created three categories of facades: pure classicist facades, classical facades with eclectic elements and eclectic facades. By considering the facade classicist pure source eclectic facade, it was preferred to the polychromatic geometric and analyzes a) Comparative analysis over time of iconographic images of the search, b) compositional analysis of the relationships proportions, dimensions and arrangements of façade elements based on proportionality golden c) Visual observation of chromatic patterns found from prospecting pictorial. From this study it was possible to say that the pure classicist facades have a limited vocabulary in the composition of its grammar, with well defined rules, but the projects in its origin, do not obey the compositional principles learned, which leads us to conclude that based on imitation of other works, possibly without relying on the guidance of professional architecture. As the ratio of chromatic ranges between the various elements of the composition of their facades, we identify the existence of a principle chromatic. We believe that the model is not found chromatic complex and not contrasts, but nuances of tone, used with meanings. This study contributes to the understanding of the eclectic civil architecture of Belem.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Hospital D. As an example of the historical building that houses the current João de Barros Barreto Hospital, we try to gather the multiple functional dimensions and the meanings connected to the architecture in order to characterize it as a form of assistance patrimony. The six-story monoblock building was built between 1938 and 1959, showing the influence of modern architecture precepts in the way of building public buildings in Brazil, translated mainly in the architectural detailing, such as the use of brise-soleils and cobogos in the rectilinear façades. In this context, the way the hospital's social agents create, register and propagate meanings is apprehended and interpreted through the ethnographic method, whose attribution also addresses the memories that permeate the former Barros Barreto Sanatorium, as well as demonstrates the articulation between architectural space and the relationships developed in it. Thus, the evidence of the importance of the perceptions of the social, historical and cultural contexts point to the process of patrimoniality, from the point of view of social agents, corroborating to demonstrate the importance of the recognition of a heritage based on lived experiences, narratives, affective relationships, in addition to history, which characterize its existence and, in the case of HUJBB, the resistance in face of the transformations given in the name of a modernization of the hospital space.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A Linguagem Arquitetônica Tradicionalista: estudo das residências neocoloniais no bairro de Nazaré, em Belém do Pará (1910-1940)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-03-13) AZEVEDO, Felipe Moreira; MIRANDA, Cybelle Salvador; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3254198738703536The study of the Neocolonial architecture that is present in Belém – PA consists of analyze Pará’s architectural history, from that, understanding the intention on its shapes and rethoric which set an important moment for Brazil. However, there is a section of the neighborhood that compounds the surroundings of the Historic Center of Belém and that can be considered as the "new" Cidade Velha for having characteristics that differ from the “patrimonial” Cidade Velha, as an occupation that relates to a period after the foundation of the initial nucleus and the fact that, above all, the renovation architectures, which in its place a new construction is allowed by the law, predominate in there. Thus, motivated by the fact that the author and researcher is a resident of the neighborhood, the main objective of the dissertation is to analyze the "new" Cidade Velha and understand how the materiality that refers to the existing architecture and the different perceptions that the individuals have about this area contribute to construct the identity of an area located within a neighborhood in which the predicate “old” usually defines it as a whole. The present research also addresses the themes of the search for a regionality and rescue of Amazonian roots and the relationship of individuals with architectural heritage, which implies the existence of particular memories and values attributed to places and buildings in the neighborhood. Through the ethnographic method, especially the variant of street ethnography, it was possible to establish a dialogue with residents and visitors of the area. In addition, the dialogue with heritage agents also contributed to the final result of the research, which intends to highlight an understudied area of that continues to be transformed, contributing to make Cidade Velha a unique and complex neighborhood.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O palácio dos governadores sob anacronias e traduções: percepções etnovisuais e vivências no antigo Palácio de Landi restaurado por la Rocque(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-08-27) SILVA, Vithória Carvalho da; MIRANDA, Cybelle Salvador; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3254198738703536; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5913-989XThe dissertation comprises studies on the Palácio dos Governadores, in Belém do Pará, from the analysis of the monument in 250 years of history, as well as its current relevance to the society of Pará. Thus, the analysis is segmented into three main periods to be addressed: the legacy of its architect creator Antônio José Landi in the construction of the Palace, in 1771, as Residence and Governmental Office; the restoration intervention operated by Roberto de La Rocque Soares in 1972 with the aim of recovering part of the original essence of the work; and the effects of such actions in contemporaneity, given that the space currently houses the Museum of the State of Pará (MEP), with fixed and temporary exhibitions, which shows not only art and architecture, but the history of Pará manifested in its ambience, receiving daily visitors experiencing the monument. About this, the argument is built from two main questions, which discuss how the translation of Landi by La Rocque was made during the restoration, and how this translation is perceived by the public that currently visits the Palace. For this, the ethnographic method together with the anachronistic review of the Palace's historiography served as a guide for the development of the research, pointing out ethnovisual perceptions from the author's view to that of the museum's visiting public, as well as producing new debates on the relevance of La Rocque as translator of Landi's original work during the restoration.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Raio que o parta! assimilações do modernismo nos anos 50 e 60 do século XX e seu apagamento em Belém (PA)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015) COSTA, Laura Caroline de Carvalho da; MIRANDA, Cybelle Salvador; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3254198738703536This work is result of a research developed by the Laboratório de Memória e Patrimônio Cultural (LAMEMO), from the Faculdade de Arquitetura e Urbanismo, Universidade Federal do Pará about the movement of non-classical architecture present in the State of Pará in the mid-twentieth century, who lent modernism elements to compose what is known today as "Raio que o parta" (RQP), contemplating his historiographical analysis from previous studies on the subject and the characterization of these types on the facades of three residential neighborhoods: Cidade Velha, Umarizal and Telégrafo. In all these three sites, one can see a considerable amount of copies, though each one presents a different context. In Cidade Velha, houses with these characteristics are common, which is a curious fact because it is an area where eclectic buildings toppled by organs of national heritage dominate the landscape. In Umarizal, although sensitive changes to their social and real state speculation over its history, it has great number of houses, but also high erasure rate. The number of copies and the popular characterization on the facades also justify the choice for the third cut, the neighborhood of the Telégrafo, where we find the most architectural renewal rate which has deactivated the RQP lines. Using tools such as street ethnography and semiotic analysis of facades, we identified 90 RQP homes in those neighborhoods, taking into account the relationship of the resident / owner with them, regarding to conditions for its removal / erasure, and aspects such as house modernization desires or judgment of changing value, identified by Riegl (2006).Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Rua Dr. Assis: uma incursão pela paisagem patrimonial transfigurada da Cidade Velha, Belém do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-03-19) TUTYIA, Dinah Reiko; MIRANDA, Cybelle Salvador; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3254198738703536This research investigate Dr. Assis street landscape transformation – located in Cidade Velha neighborhood of Belém – based on rereading of buildings its classified as "renewal" by the Law 7.709 of 1994. This law is responsible for Belém’s protection and preservation Historic, Artistic, Environmental and Cultural Heritage. The “renewal” category fits the properties with no interest of preservation, which can be replaced by new ones. Thus these lots in the historic center, “opens custody” to the dynamics of transformation, a city's intrinsic characteristic. The transfigured landscape which escapes from the “cultural heritage aesthetic” consolidates a new “Cidade Velha” – Belém’s genesis district – which along with Campina are the city’s Historic Center. Based on street ethnography method, an incursion is made into this landscape, which keeps in its, the building’s materiality and in the memories of the local residents and traders, the transformer process of the protected urban fabric. Thus, the space (re) cognition, aims to bring out the material-immaterial relation, eclipsed by the legislation category of 1994.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Manaus (AM): história, patrimônio e significância cultural(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-05-05) SILVA, Camyla Lorena Torres; MIRANDA, Cybelle Salvador; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3254198738703536; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5913-989XThe Santa Casa de Misericórdia of Manaus / AM is one of the oldest public hospitals in Amazonas and its assistance and health activities are linked to the long tradition of the Misericórdias.
