It investigates the journalistic narratives described in the headlines of the newspapers Folha do Norte and O Liberalrelated to the politician Magalhães Barata during the period in which he was Senator of the Republic for the State of Pará, in the 1940s. The relations of confrontations between the journalistic headlines about the image Magalhães Barata's policy, in both newspapers, report on the importance of the history of the reception's communication regarding the image of public figures and their effects of representation in society. For this reason, the discussion about the construction of the negative political image of Magalhães Barata is made problematic through the headlines in the opposition newspaper, Folha do Norte, and the positive image of support, O Liberal, respectively. From the methodological point of view, the study outlined here arises from an interpretative and documentary research based on the bibliography and is a procedure based, above all, on the Critical Discourse Analysis (ADC) and the media images of Magalhães Barata, which were broadcast in both newspapers for readers in the capital of Pará. In this context, when we refer to the policy of Magalhães Barata, we refer to its importance and historical legacy from a cut in the news headlines through which the construction of statements, statements and images in the relevant newspapers will be analyzed.

(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-11-11) TOSTES, Ana Letícia Lopes; SANTOS, Luiz Cezar Silva dos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2449524316115443
In this dissertation, we seek to explore the narratives of newspapers from Pará in the years 1918-1920 which had as main character a medium named Anna Rebello Prado. News that were a cause of astonishment for readers and annoyance for the Catholic Church because the medium gained allies and critics by allowing press coverage of her deeds, especially the materialization of spirits, and showing how journalism easily surrendered to the fantastic and unusual, at the dawn of the 20th century in the city of Belém do Pará. The objective of the research is to see the journalistic coverage of fantastic elements, such as the medium and her powers, and its acceptance by journalism as important components of reality the social and history of a community. To understand these aspects, we will also conduct a study on Belém in the 1920s, and who were the main characters of the intriguing medium that aroused the curiosity and attention of daily newspaper readers in Belém.

This research intends to do an analysis of discourses present in two advertising videos and six tourism posters authored by the Government of State of Pará. The objective is to identify and compare the narratives and arguments, as well as the forms of representation of cultural identities of Pará, as a state, and of Pará's people, in order to reflect on the construction of meanings that can reinforce stereotypes and colonial discourses about Amazon. We also seek to reflect about city, its appropriation and the visibility of the spaces designed by advertisements. The objects of this research are the advertising video “Pará te encantar” (2017, tourist commercial), the advertising video “Stay at home” (2020, commercial with alert about agglomerations in the Covid19 pandemic context), and six posters of the campaign “Rediscover Pará” (2020). We will use authors such as Stuart Hall, Homi K. Bhabha and Amaral Filho as a theoretical reference to discuss cultural identities, stereotypes and coloniality in Amazonian context. Our methodological framework is based on Eni Orlandi, Martine Joly and Diana Rose for development of Discourse Analysis and moving images. The concept of publiCIDADE (publiCITY) proposed by Santos (Luiz LZ Cezar) will also be used, as well as other authors on the Amazon, such as Paes Loureiro, and on Communication Science, such as Martín-Barbero.

characters. It seeks to understand which are the representations of fat female characters on webcomics made by women authorship from Amazon, if there are those representations and which are the readings of those artists about fat bodies, as artists, drawers, and women, and if there are comic artists who identify as fat women. The relevance of the discussions involving the studies of the fat body in Brazil is highlighted, as research are still under development in the Social and Communication Sciences. It is considered that social representations in hegemonic media products play a fundamental role in the conception and maintenance of social models constitutive of the imaginary, ordering what will be accepted or repressed in society. Thus, it is important to emphasize that comics, as media, are vectors of speeches and stereotyped representations (BOFF, 2014; EISNER, 2005; THENSUAN, 2020), creating and strengthening social stigmas as in the case of fatphobia (ARRUDA, 2021, JIMENEZ, 2020). Therefore, this study aligns the idea that the media bios (SODRÉ, 2002) develops fatphobia, which highlights the importance of an approach from the perspective of communication science (ARRUDA, 2021). We intend to contribute to the research and debate on communication as a vector for maintenance or transformation of models, stereotypes and social stigmas; reflecting on fatphobia and the field of studies on gender and comics. In order to analyze the representation of characters and the production of meanings about fat corporality in webcomics produced by female comics authors from Amazon, we seek to identify fat characters in webcomics and illustrations of female artists from Brazilian Amazon region; dialogue with comics authors through semi-structured interviews (DUARTE, 2005; GASKELL, 2002) about the representation of fat women in webcomics; to analyze the meanings apprehended about fat corporality in the data collected from the analysis of the images (JOLY, 2007) of the illustrations and webcomics; and to discuss the representations of the female fat body and the senses produced and apprehended by these representations. We conclude that the senses seized in the representations present convergences with the discourses of acceptance and self-love diffused by the hegemonic media based on the body positive movement in line with the biosociabilities of consumption of the plus size industry (AIRES, 2019), generating resignifications in the regimes of visibility of the fat body, creating positive stereotypes, with invisibilities of larger fat bodies.
