Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Arranjos produtivos locais de agricultura temporária no estado do Pará: uma aplicação do modelo de análise de componentes principais(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017) CARVALHO, Abner Vilhena de; CARVALHO, André Cutrim; CARVALHO, David Ferreira; FILGUEIRAS, Gisalda Carvalho; ARAÚJO, Ana Cláudia de Sousa; SOARES, André Araújo SombraThe objective of this article is to discuss the Local Productive Arrangements of temporary agriculture in the State of Pará, from the analysis of the cluster process, since they present a great potential for the formation of productive chains. The methodological procedure consists of the grouping of productive activities belonging to the same class, whose actions are completed in the production chain horizontally or vertically, which makes the model constructed through the analysis of principal components more robust. The main conclusion is that temporary crops are able to form the basis of potential APLs in Pará, even though the production of temporary crop products is still provided by small and medium producers and sold to intermediaries or directly to informal networks of the region. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a rural development policy aimed at production based on the rational cultivation of temporary crops capable of attracting rural agroindustries to the formation of productive chains.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Biotechnological innovations and medicinal plants of agriculture in the brazilian Amazon(International Journal of Engineering Research and Applications, 2018-03) CARVALHO, André Cutrim; FILGUEIRAS, Gisalda Carvalho; CARVALHO, Abner Vilhena de; BENTES, Elisabeth dos Santos; ARAÚJO, Ana Cláudia de SousaThe fundamental aim of this research is to establish an analysis with regard to non-sustainable economic models to the environment, also known as Business as Usual, and as an alternative proposal sustainable ecosystem model called Sustainable Ecosystem Management, which has a target to reverse this unsustainability of logic in the Brazilian Amazon. The main conclusion is that the growth trend of the pharmaceutical industry demand for products derived from the medicinal plant agriculture may constitute a window of opportunity for interesting application of sustainable development, especially for the countries possessing broad biodiversity - like Brazil - which features unique ability to develop biotechnological innovations, from the application of the ecosystem sustainability model.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Desenvolvimento local sustentável através da produção concentrada de madeira em tora no estado do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017) FILGUEIRAS, Gisalda Carvalho; CAIRES, Maria do Socorro de Lima; CARVALHO, André Cutrim; ARAÚJO, Ana Cláudia de Sousa; CARVALHO, Abner Vilhena deThe expansion of the agricultural and cattle-raising frontier, in the State of Pará, increased from the 1960s until the beginning of the year 2000, which resulted in a permanent class struggle, from the economic, social, institutional, but mainly environmental, point of view. In 2012, Pará became the main timber producer in Brazil, according to statistics from the extractive sector and forestry. Given this production, the present work sought to analyze the wood market at world, national and regional level, with emphasis on the concentration of this product in Pará territory. The results indicate the existence of continuous production and, still, concentrated in a few municipalities of Pará, both through the Locational Gini Index and the Normalized Concentration Index. Therefore, shared management among local productive actors and the adoption of sustainable local development practices - forest management - are of the utmost importance for the production of wood products to continue generating employment and income for of Pará.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Dynamics of forest deforestation in the amazon of pará: an approach centered in space econometry(International Journal of Development Research, 2018-06) CARVALHO, André Cutrim; SILVA, Raimundo Nelson Souza da; FILGUEIRAS, Gisalda Carvalho; CARVALHO, Abner Vilhena de; FREITAS, Tatiana Pará Monteiro de; BENTES, Elisabeth dos SantosThis article aims to theoretically discuss the main factors responsible for the dynamics of forest clearing in the Amazon of ofPará, an approach perspective performed through spatial econometrics. The basic hypothesis is that the expansion of the agricultural frontier is the conductive element from forest deforestation phenomenon in Pará. In this context, the spatial econometrics served as an extremely important tool to measure, from the results obtained in spatial econometric model the effects that the forest clearing has led in Pará. The main conclusion is that the increased expansion of cattle ranching in the Amazon frontier driven by demand from abroad has directly influenced the increase of deforestation, hindering the development of sustainable activity in the region. The period chosen for the spatial econometric analysis covers the years 2000 and 2008 due to high forest deforestation rate in the state of Pará.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Legislação ambiental e economia do crime na BR-163 e PA-370: análise do mercado madeireiro ilegal(Companhia Brasileira de Produção Científica, 2018-08) CARVALHO, Abner Vilhena de; SILVA, Fabiane Miranda da; CARVALHO, Rhayza Alves Figueiredo de; GUIMARÃES, Jarsen Luis Castro; CARVALHO, André Cutrim; ALMEIDA, Rodolfo Maduro; TANAKA FILHO, Mario; SANTOS FILHO, Manoel Bentes dosThe state of Pará is home to a significant portion of regional vegetation, and this opens the economic eye toward profitability - licit and illicit, that the forest can generate through logging. The Environmental Crimes Law was created to combat and punish environmental illicit such as illegal logging. In this sense, the general objective is to carry out the environmental economic analysis about the seizure of illegal wood from processes processed / judged and finalized under the jurisdiction of the archive of the Santarém Forum (PA), registered in the years 2006-2016. The data come from cataloging performed in the archive of the Forum of Santarém, tabulating: the year of infraction; the type of person who committed the crime; the type of charge seized - identifying the volume and the species (s); as well as the fine imposed by environmental agents and the final fine paid. From this, through statistical programs, the methodological technique of cost-benefit estimation of the illegal timber market was applied, which compared the estimated value of the load - environmental economic loss, with the fine that was paid by the offender after the final decision given by the judge. The analysis of the results was based on the specificity of Law 9.605 / 98 regarding illegal logging and, in Gary Becker's economic theory, focused on the analysis of criminal activities. In sum, it was observed in the results that the estimated value of the charge seized, in almost all cases was greater than the fine imposed, the latter can still be paid in installments, making the environmental recomposition is minimal. It is evident that if the initial penalty were applied, the offender's average profit margin would be approximately 31.74% in relation to the potential benefit, which, according to Becker's theory, would keep the illegal activity in full employment. operation. However, the results show that, on average, that profit margin of the potential crime benefit amount is approximately 67%, which makes logging illegally attractive and rewarding, as the 'potential benefit' of the activity has been quite higher than the economic costs of the penalties. Therefore, it is necessary to apply more effectively the Law on environmental crimes, as well as governance activities in relation to hiring more environmental agents to prevent, combat and seize loads that are out of illegality, as well as greater activity judiciary in judging cases.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Panorama e importância econômica do café no mercado internacional de commodities agrícolas: uma análise espectral(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017) CARVALHO, André Cutrim; CARVALHO, David Ferreira; FILGUEIRAS, Gisalda Carvalho; ARAÚJO, Ana Cláudia de Sousa; CARVALHO, Abner Vilhena deThis paper aims to discuss the panorama and importance of coffee for Brazil, especially in economic terms, by making use of the empirical and analytical instruments of the spectral analysis, based on the time series of coffee prices in the international agricultural commodities market. New York (USA). In fact, coffee is an important component of total exports from several countries, including Brazil. Over time, coffee has become an economically important product of many families around the world. From the methodological point of view, the research used the statistical-econometric framework derived from the spectral analysis of time series. The results of this analysis show that climate shocks on coffee prices may have longer effects and those agricultural policies that directly affect the coffee production chain may have longer lasting effects. Moreover, the results indicate that the coffee price trend is in a combination of deterministic and stochastic trends.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Proposta de indicadores de desenvolvimento socioeconômico e ambientalmente/ecologicamente sustentável – o IDHA e o IDHE(Companhia Brasileira de Produção Científica, 2018-08) CARVALHO, Rhayza Alves Figueiredo de; CARVALHO, Abner Vilhena de; TANAKA FILHO, Mario; ALMEIDA, Rodolfo Maduro; GUIMARÃES, Jarsen Luis Castro; BARROS, Márcio Júnior Benassuly; CARVALHO, Ednéa do Nascimento; CARVALHO, André CutrimThis paper aims to propose the development of two indicators that incorporate the sustainable perspective in its methodological framework, from the inclusion of an environmental / ecological dimension, together with the other traditional dimensions of human development (standard of living, life expectancy and access to knowledge. ), in order to verify the importance that this environmental metric reflects in the analyzes of a broader development, filling a gap left by the traditional indicators, which do not consider the environmental dimension as an integral part of the analytical instrument. The inclusion of such a dimension is extremely relevant in the development and sustainability analysis, as it has a direct impact on the population's quality of life. Therefore, the environmental quantification is proposed through two indices: the Environmental Quality Index and the Ecological Footprint, which verify aspects of the quality of the environment as well as biophysical aspects. Then, these environmental indices will be incorporated into the economic (per capita income) and social (education and health) dimensions, allowing to identify the level of human development of a given locality. The results of the study allow us to analyze the level of environmental quality, as well as to indicate the level of human development, showing the essentiality of the environmental dimension in the construction of development indicators, especially of a sustainable nature, which may present itself as a factor that reduces or it increases the level of development of a locality when compared to different ones, allowing comparative analyzes by the ranking method or by the impact estimation through economic-environmental modeling.
