Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O embate entre o visível e o invisível: a construção social da violência no jornalismo e na política(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010) COSTA, Alda Cristina Silva da; BARP, Wilson José; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6546508090587542This research aims to examine the use made of violence as a social problem in journalistic and political contexts, from articles published in the Jornal Nacional, from Rede Globo and in political speeches of the candidates for president, Geraldo Alckmin (PSDB ) and Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT), on the electoral timetable, here called television campaign, on the elections of 2006. As the main methodological contributions have been used the analysis tools of hermeneutics and frameworks (frame analysis), with the intention of revealing this focus on the violence and make a theoretical reflection on this social problem in the "post-media", a term known in this research as to the process of exacerbation of the media and its insertion as an institution that builds the sense of reality to people's lives. Television news and the election campaign, tested in August, September and October 2006, were taken as important programs of references the social construction of reality. It appears that there is a superficiality and homogenization in the treatment of this social problem.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Jovens e interação comunicativa na Amazônia paraense: entre o rural e o urbano(Associação Nacional dos Programas de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação, 2015-06) CASTRO, Fábio Fonseca de; COSTA, Alda Cristina Silva da; IGREJA, Monique FeioThis article proposes a reflection about the way that communicative interactions are established among young people living in Murutucu island, Belém PA, belonging to a territory with practices marked by the articulation between the urban and the rural. And what cultural marks are present in the voices of those who speak to it? Our purpose in proposing this reflection is to analyze the mobilizing elements that construct the cultural sense of the Amazon in the encounter between the television and literary languages. That is, taking the word as an ethical act, action on the world and the other. As a scope of analysis, we selected the literary novel Dois Irmãos, adapted by Rede Globo de Televisão, in a miniseries and screened in January, 2017. Milton Hatoum's work narrates the family plot of the Lebanese descendants in Manaus in the first half of the twentieth century. We reflect that the television language, when narratively adapting the literary text, potentiates a dialogism and a polyphony of social voices, in the necessary relation of any expression with other expressions, recreating the verbal text and visually materializing the cultural elements of possible interpretation of the Amazon. That is, in narrative analysis the river becomes the metaphor of human existence, as streams of life that indicate, at the same time, serenity and current, tension and restlessness. The river represents memory and cultural construction.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Narrative identities and the plebiscite in Pará: an analysis of the front pages for O Liberal and Diário do Pará(Associação Brasileira de Pesquisadores em Jornalismo, 2017) COSTA, Alda Cristina Silva da; BRAGA, Thaís Luciana Corrêa; AQUINO, Evelyn Cristina Ferreira deOn December 11, 2011, a plebiscite was held in Pará proposing to create two separatist states, Carajás and Tapajós, out of the state of Pará. The public voted against both projects. This article analyzes the narrative identities found on the front pages of O Liberal and Diário do Pará newspapers about the plebiscite in Pará. Depth Hermeneutics (DH), as proposed by Thompson (2011), was used as the methodological reference. DH emphasizes the object of analysis as a meaningful symbolic construction requiring interpretation. Narrative analysis, as proposed by Motta (2007), was the main research technique used to highlight the movement of construction of journalistic (discursive) characters. The narrative identities built by the two newspapers showed that both were against the creation of the new states, but for very different reasons. The flag of Pará was the main object used to induce the idea of unity.
