In this direction, we intend to analyse this mythical figure in the context of oral narratives that talk about possible "sightings" that occurred in the community of Curuçambaba, which is a rural area of the municipality of Bujaru, in the north-eastern region of the state of Pará, Brazil. At the theoretical level, the study uses a bibliography that incorporates the contributions of Cascudo, Fares and Silva Júnior to contextualize the myth in its different meanings and to help the understanding of what was heard among the local people. In its empirical conception, the study is drawn based on the oral narratives collected in 2015 in the area in focus. According to the narrators, in Curuçambaba there are Matintas living among them, involving situations of "sightings". In general, the narratives collected about the Matinta Perera point to Amazonian representations on gender, old age and poverty transmitted by the gesture of a story narrating that at the same time scares and educates the younger ones, especially in the rural areas of the Paraense’s Amazon.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) As práticas informacionais relacionadas ao saber e ao fazer das erveiras do Ver-o-Peso: uma análise interdisciplinar(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-05-31) DANTAS, Cleide Furtado Nascimento; BENCHIMOL, Alegria Celia Benchimol; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9550647395377220This research deals with information practices related to the traditional knowledge of the erveiras Ver-o-Peso Fair in Belém do Pará. In general, the objective is to analyze, in an interdisciplinary perspective, the processes that involve the information on the know-how and do of these individuals who work at Ver-o-Peso. To fulfill this objective, it uses bibliographic research and field research as a methodology, based on a qualitative approach and making use of research instruments such as semi-structured interviews and the photographic camera. From the data collected in the field, together with the adopted theoretical framework, the establishment of eleven (11) categories of analysis and the presentation of a flow of information in the context of the activities of the erveiras were obtained. It shows that orality is the means by which the herbs have been used to transmit their knowledge to possible successors. The daughters or the helpers of the herders absorb information by assisting at home and / or the daily work of Ver-o-Peso, store them in memory and in the face of a need trigger a mental process of retrieving information for effective use. It concludes that understanding the information practices embedded in the daily life of people with traditional knowledge can support conditions that favor the continuity of this knowledge structured by a legacy of information transmitted in the movement of the generations and, in this case, one of the most famous popular fairs of the Brazil: the Ver-o-Peso.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A produção científica da UFPA sobre conhecimentos tradicionais: análise das teses e dissertações disponíveis no Banco de Teses da Capes(Universidade de São Paulo, 2018-10) DANTAS, Cleide Furtado Nascimento; BENCHIMOL, Alegria Celia; BARROS, Thiago Henrique Bragato; MORAES, João Batista Ernesto deInvestigates the scientific production of the Federal University of Pará on traditional knowledge, based on the theses and dissertations available at the Coordination of Improvement of Higher Level Personnel Bank of Theses, in order to verify how the subject has been approached in the institution.
