Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estrutura e dinâmica de famílias com um filho com necessidades educacionais especiais(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2009-06-15) FREITAS, Hilda Rosa Moraes de; SILVA, Simone Souza da Costa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9044423720257634In the Brazilian context, research on the special educational needs focuses on the study of the difficulties and possibilities for inclusion of these students in regular classes of instruction, emphasizing the processes of teaching and learning. Few studies, in Brazil, see the family as the object of analysis, while not questioning its importance in child development. Thus, based on the bioecological model and the structural systemic theory, admitting to the family as a field of development common to all members it is necessary to know how it is structured to meet the demands arising from the special needs of your child and the effects of this dynamic in the group. From this it was aimed to describe the structure and dynamics of families of children with special educational needs, in addition to: analyze the interactions and relationships established within each subsystem (family, parent, sibling) and between them, and identify the organization family, from the mechanisms of cohesion and hierarchy in accordance with the structural systemic model. As the search strategy used the study of multiple cases, two families of children with special educational needs, a deaf girl, of ten years, and a boy, of twelve years old, with learning difficulties. The tools and techniques applied were: Roadmap for Semi-Structured Interview, Inventory of Routine (IR), Systematic Observation, Diary of Field, Family System Test (FAST) and Genogram. The scores obtained in the FAST were consistent with the results of IR, demonstrating greater cohesion in parent-child dyad that the father-child dyad, the two families, and the flexibility of borders in general, the perception of family was of border rigid, in systems, family, parent and sibling, and that the distribution of hierarchy was perceived by the parental dyad, in the two families, as a sign of preference for the sibling subsystem, and domination, for the parent subsystem, which interfered in the structures relational perceived by members. In assessing the sibling subsystem, the lack of power, represented by parents and representation by the children of this variable resulted in differences of perception in the group. Therefore, this study has, through the identification of relations and perceptions of members of families, to understand its dynamics and influence of, in developmental trajectory of children and the group, from, the demands arising from the diagnosis and strategies peculiar to each family to address the special needs of their children. Realizes that the family, the school's main partner in education, must be seen as a relational system whose strategies are fundamental for the child to have stimulated their skills and, thus, overcome their difficulties.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Metas e estratégias de socialização que mães de crianças surdas valorizam para seus filhos(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-12) FREITAS, Hilda Rosa Moraes de; MAGALHÃES, Celina Maria ColinoResearch in Brazil has drawn attention to the prevalence of distinct models for creativity that arise from the social background, which are as follows: interdependent, independent and autonomous-relational. In light of this, the purpose of this study is to uncover the socialization goals and expectations of mothers of deaf children with regard to the future of their children. Interviews were conducted with 13 mothers of deaf children enrolled in a deaf public school; the study was carried out using a semi-structured questionnaire (officially recognized in Brazil) comprising questions about the goals and strategies of socialization. The group of participants consisted of the following: low-income mothers residing in an urban environment, with little formal education and aged between 31 and 40. The study reported 20 socialization goals that were divided into the following categories: social expectations, good behavior and self-improvement-in descending order-which suggests a tendency towards a 'sociocentric' dimension. The interdependent category was the predominant model of creativity. With regard to strategies of socialization, 37 were described, one of which (the category centered on itself) obtained the highest score with stress being laid on its cognitive features. It should be understood that although the model of creativity is independent, the strategies were concentrated on the figure of the mother. One possible analytical approach is to examine the linguistic barriers that are caused by deafness and which prevent the child and the environment from being taken into account by mothers as mediators of the children.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Percepção de conflito em uma família recasada constituída por um filho com paralisia cerebral(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-03) FREITAS, Hilda Rosa Moraes de; SILVA, Simone Souza da Costa; PONTES, Fernando Augusto RamosThe increase in the number of separation/divorce has favored the emergence of new family structures. Thus, remarriage becomes a possibility for developing the family group which requires emotional, social and economic reorganization of the family, as well as greater flexibility to negotiate association, space, time and authority. The objective of this article was to describe the structure and dynamics of a stepfamily having a child with cerebral palsy, based on the members' representations of conflict situations. In this case study focused on a family, made up of three members: mother, son and stepfather. A semi-structured interview and the Family System Test (FAST) were applied. The FAST scores showed closeness in the mother-child dyad and distance in the stepfather-stepson dyad, with the hierarchy focused on the mother figure. As to the flexibility of boundaries, the couple's perception indicated rigid boundaries, both for the family and for parental systems, while the child's perception of the family system revealed diffused boundaries. Therefore, some factors highlighted in the literature and evident in this family such as differences in the couple's life cycle, short period of marriage, emotional baggage between mother and son, added to demands of child care, resources and biopsychological provisions, constituted a rigid standard with low flexibility, which made it difficult to include the stepfather in the group, resulting in less commitment to co-parenting in the care and education of the stepchild.
