This atlas describes and maps the linguistic variety of Afro-Brazilian Portuguese spoken in the remaining quilombo communities in the Northeast Mesoregion of Pará. The semantic field chosen for analysis is composed of questions that express the religious dimension and the beliefs of the interviewed informants in research. In this study we will present and discuss the results of the following maps: L104 -devil and L106 -spell. The atlas adopted as a starting point for obtaining the data, the assumptions of Linguistic Geography, a method of Dialectology that instrumentalizes the treatment and description of linguistic data in the socio-spatial scope, considering the diatopic, diassexual and diagerational dimensions. The results indicate different degrees of competition between the identified variants, as well as showing the use of nicknames to refer toforms considered taboo.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A vogal média pretônica nas capitais da região norte do Brasil(Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, 2016-03) DIAS, Marcelo Pires; OLIVEIRA, Marilúcia Barros deThis paper aims to describe the behavior of the unstressed back mid vowel based on the speech of informants of six capital cities of northern Brazil (Belém-PA, Manaus-AM, Rio Branco-AC, Macapá, AP, Porto Velho and Boa Vista, RR-RO), from phonetic-phonologicall(QFF) and lexical-semantic(QSL) questionnaire data, data collection instruments from theLinguistic Atlas of Brazil (ALiB). Data were transcribed with the use of Transcriberand then processed through the use of the variable rule program called VARBRUL which provided the useful relative weights for the analysis and variationist linguistic reflection. The instituted factors Groups for the description and linguistic analysis of the behavior of middle back unstressed vowels were the following: the phonetic nature of the consonantal segment; nature of the stressed vowel; distance between the stressed andthe unstressed preceding vowel, age, education, gender and origin. The research is justified by the importance of describing the variety of Brazilian Portuguese spoken in the Brazilian Amazon and contribute to the linguistic description of Brazilian Portuguese (BP).
