This work is a thesis about the regional development project of Brazilian 1964 dictatorship, specifically about the Amazon region and in the period called as the Nova República (1986-1989). The text discusses the dissimulation conceptual basis of this regional development project to barbarian notions that characterized the region during the so-called Regional Development Projects such as the hydroelectric of Tucuruí, Brazil and its impacts on the period.
