A estrutura socioespacial da região metropolitana de Belém: de 1990 a 2000

The paper presents a study on the social structure of the RMB, main urban formation of the Pará State from 1990 to 2000 period. Georreferenciated statistical analysis has been used with IBGE data census in order to reflect the sociospacial structure of Metropolitan Belém and taking the spacial urban clip of the five municipalities together which comprises officially the Metropolitan Region of Belém, concerning Belém, Ananindeua, Marituba, Benevides e Santa Bárbara do Pará. Comparison has been done on social formation by the means of the sociocupational categories defined hence the factorial analysis besides components in order to relate both social and labor divisions and its impacts caused by economic projects envolving both mineral and energetic exploration in its intraurban space.

This dissertation does a reflection on the absence of an effective planning system and administration of the Metropolitan Area of Belém (RMB), fundamental to set out their mutual municipal districts problems. It is a work that besides doing such reflection, he suggests fundaments to contribute to the construction of a planning proposal and administration of RMB, with base in the adaptation certain instruments instituted by the National Politics of Hydric Resources, Law number. 9.433/97. This adaptation was possible starting from the understanding and identification of the hydrographic structure of the territory of RMB that, associated to the administration instruments adopted by the referred Law, it resulted in institutional and technical instruments that use of the metropolitan hydrographic basins as strategic units of planning and administration and for the use of principles of democratic participation in the solution of the problems of interest of the municipal districts of that area.
