This study aims to analyze the status of Environmental Education in undergraduate courses at the Federal University of Pará, University Campus Ananindeua, located in the Amazon region of Pará. To this end, a theoretical and documental research is carried out, based on the curricular prescriptions, pedagogical projects of the courses and subject programs. It is concluded that Environmental Education must occur in an interdisciplinary way, so that there is an approximation between environmental issues, academic technical content and social responsibility.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) A educação ambiental na floresta de Caxiuanã: reconstituindo significados(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-04) SILVA, Marilena Loureiro daThis article discusses the approach necessity between the cultural and educational activities made in the forests, with all its diversity and complexity to those practices activities in these cities. it is tried to formulate theoretical discussions about the importance of environmental education in overcoming the separation between nature and human subjects, related to the need of install new forms for this relationship based on the search for understanding environmental complexity. To this end, we present a literature review about the forest resources in the state of Para, as well as analysis of how these features are perceived and separate from the dynamics of city life. It also presents Environmental Education in its critical aspect, understood from a historical dialectical discussion and under the systemic and interdisciplinary approach, as an indispensable focus in the current context of integrated public policies for risk management, in order to highlight its potential in the construction of the process of sensitization and environmental rationality.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) “A voz da selva” – educomunicação socioambiental e possibilidades de desenvolvimento local sustentável: experiências e práticas na Comunidade Boa Esperança – RDS Amanã/AM(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-09) SILVA, Marilena Loureiro da; FIGUEIREDO, Thiago Antônio de SousaThis work was carried out from the discussion about communication and local development, with the aiming to verify whether the use of social communication from residents of the communities, inserted inside Conservation Units of Sustainable Use, has contributed to the organization and consequently with the development of community activities in the locality, based on the concept of social and environmental sustainability. The work was carried out from a case study method and participant observation, a community located within the Sustainable Development Reserve (RDS) Amanã, in Amazonas state, using the analysis to two theoretical orientations: a) the critical theory, b) the theory of the reception that dislocates the studies of the communication for the cultural phenomena. In this context the results refer mainly to: a) the communication developed in the community of study, is associated in some elements of popular communication and community alternatives b) communication, alternative, popular, and community or in this case has contributed to the organization and conduct of community activities through the expansion of information concerning such activities related mainly to the social dimension of work, community organization, school and health; c) The radio, as a vehicle for oral and easy handle is the vehicle most used by residents of the community under study, as a tool for expansion on local information.
