Violência social e relações de poder: crianças e adolescentes nos entreatos da violência doméstica

Description of various aspects of social violence, constitution of power relations, gender relations and powers of the adult towards the child. Presentation of a historical and conceptual retrospective over the family. It is evidenced the existence of Domestic Violence against Children and Adolescents and it is performed an analysis of violence towards children and adolescents reports in the Metropolitan Region of Belém. As a second step, it discusses the reproduction of the relations of social violence in the home environment and the naturalization of violent practices of interaction between parents and children, fruit of a work developed with fathers and mothers of adolescent offenders in a phenomenological approach. This paper came to the conclusion that the Domestic Violence against Children and Adolescents is directly related to the other forms of violence prevalent in the society, which are cause and effect, and may not be analyzed as an isolated phenomenon; that the Domestic Violence against Children and Adolescents is transmitted through generations; that fathers and mothers beat for fear to protect their children and themselves; that Domestic Violence against Children and Adolescents is recognized as a spiral of continuous and uncontrolled graduation.
