This study aims to describe adolescent perceptions of stress and future expectations. It is a mixed-methods study of 17 high school students, selected from a sample of 295 adolescents, aged 14 to 18 years, who are pupils in a private school system in the metropolitan region of Belém do Pará. The Stress Scale for Adolescents was used, in addition to focus groups. The results indicated higher stress levels in female adolescents. The participants who had no stress had good family relationships and well-defined future expectations. However, the adolescents who had stress associated their family context with stressors and had no expectations for the future.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Atividades acadêmicas na rotina de crianças ribeirinhas participantes do Programa Bolsa Família(2013-06) FREIRE, Viviam Rafaela Barbosa Pinheiro; SILVA, Simone Souza da Costa; PONTES, Fernando Augusto Ramos; BORGES, Júlia de Almeida Roffé; MOURA, Maria Lucia Seidl deThis article aims to describe the routine related to academic life of children who participate in the Bolsa Família Program in an Amazon riverside community. A Sociodemographic and a Routine Inventory were administered to 30 children: 16 girls and 14 boys. The main results indicate attending school occupies 16% of their weekday, homework 3% and no reading activities take place outside the school. In the weekend, children do not make homework or develop reading activities. Parental participation in the routine of their sons and daughters is restricted. Actions to stimulate involvement and qualification of those riverside community families are necessary so they can participate and organize academic activities in the routine of their children.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Caracterização das pesquisas sobre eficácia coletiva docente na perspectiva da teoria social cognitiva(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-03) RAMOS, Maély Ferreira Holanda; FERNANDES, Ana Patrícia de Oliveira; PONTES, Fernando Augusto Ramos; SILVA, Simone Souza da CostaCollective efficacy of teachers refers to the way faculty members judge the capabilities of this group to perform the specific tasks of the ir function. This study aimed to systematic ally review studies on collective teacher efficacy from a social cognitive perspective. The refore, articles in the CAPES database published between 2010 to 2014were reviewed .The survey resulted in 12 articles which contemplated pre-established inclusion criteria. The results indicated by means of analysis of the objectives of the articles that the variables most commonly used to study the collective teacher efficacy were: self-efficacy and job satisfaction. It was also noted that the majority of the studies useda quantitative approach, indicating a necessity to expand the studies applying qualitative techniques.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Comportamentos de crianças do espectro do autismo com seus pares no contexto de educação musical(2015-03) NASCIMENTO, Paulyane Silva do; ZANON, Regina Basso; BOSA, Cleonice Alves; NOBRE, João Paulo dos Santos; FREITAS JUNIOR, Aureo Deo de; SILVA, Simone Souza da CostaThe Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is characterized by impairments in the areas of social interaction, communication, behavior and sensory processing. Aspects related to difficulties in social interaction repertoire, as well as strategies to help them behave more adequately have been widely studied. Among these strategies, those using music have received attention. The present study aims to investigate the benefits of music education to the social interaction of children with ASD, with their peers, focusing on both the quality and frequency of these behaviors. Two ASD children, aged 5 and 6 years respectively, who attended a percussion class group, participated in the study. The Demographics and Development information enabled the children´s profiles to be drawn. The social interaction behaviors were coded using a Behavioral Observation Protocol during 8 sessions (240 minutes). The results suggest that both tended to increase initiatives and spontaneous responses and to decrease non-functional behaviors as the sessions progressed. It was found that stereotypies were used by the ASD children when attempting to interact with others, albeit sporadically. The role of context, of the children's profile and of adult behavioral management of children in promoting interactions was highlighted.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Efeitos da comunicação alternativa na interação professor-aluno com paralisia cerebral não-falante(2013-03) SILVA, Rafael Luiz Morais da; SILVA, Simone Souza da Costa; PONTES, Fernando Augusto Ramos; OLIVEIRA, Ana Irene Alves de; DELIBERATO, DéboraSpeech has been regarded as a social communicative modality required for building relationships in different contexts and cultures. Nevertheless, this is not always a readily available resource, especially for those who have developmental disorders. In this sense, Augmentative and Alternative Communication resources and strategies have been used by nonspeaking students with disabilities as useful tools to achieve greater social participation in different environments. Therefore, the present study examined the interaction between teachers and a student with cerebral palsy before and after the use of Alternative Communication strategies in the classroom. The study had a quantitative and qualitative nature and was designed as an intervention study. There were four main stages: 1) filming before the introduction of the resources in the classroom, 2) training the school teachers 3) providing technical assistance regarding the use of alternative communication to the child's teacher 4) filming teacher-student interactions using these technological resources. The interactions were transcribed and grouped into links. In this research, a link means the initiator's behavior directed to the exchange partner and the response in sequence from the interlocutor back to the initiator. It was found that the established interactions presented a maximum of four links, with greater frequency for episodes of 1st and 2nd links. After the intervention, there were different contexts with the presence of interactions up to the 6th link, often greater frequency for episodes of 1st, 2nd and 3rd links. In addition, the teacher showed a tendency to use symbols only as a tool for evaluating and teaching concepts. This perception changed as the teacher became familiarized with the Augmentative and Alternative Communication technology resources.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Envolvimento parental na tarefa escolar(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-12) FERNANDES, Ana Patrícia de Oliveira; PONTES, Fernando Augusto Ramos; SILVA, Simone Souza da Costa; LIMA, Mayara Barbosa Sindeaux; SANTOS, Cláudia Oliveira dosIn this work we investigate the feelings and perceptions of the parents towards their involvement in the homework of their children. A qualitative research was made with emphasis on the use of the focal group. The study had 12 participants : people responsible for teenagers who were in the 7th, 8th and 9th grade of the basic education from a private school. The data were analyzed by content analysis. The results indicated that the parents see the homework as an element which belongs to the dynamics of school activities, despite the negative feelings that permeate their involvement in the mentioned schoolwork.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estresse e características resilientes em alunos com deficiência e TFE na UFPA(Conselhos Federal e Regionais de Psicologia, 2019) PEREIRA, Rosamaria Reo; SILVA, Simone Souza da Costa; FACIOLA, Rosana Assef; PONTES, Fernando Augusto Ramos; RAMOS, Maély Ferreira Holanda; RAMOS, Edson Marcos Leal SoaresThere are few studies dealing with the presence of stress and resilience on undergraduate students with disabilities and with specific functional disorders in higher education, which indicates the need for these two themes to be more studied and better understood in the university environment. The present study aimed to describe the sociodemographic and academic characteristics of 50 university students who participated in the study and correlate them with levels of stress and resilience. The instruments used were a semi-structured questionnaire and two scales: Perceived Stress Scale and Resilience Scale. The results were analyzed through descriptive statistics and the exploratory statistical technique. The results showed that students with high levels of stress have moderate and low levels of resilience. From this result, it was concluded the need to develop programs that aim at the maintenance of effective coping strategies in adverse situations within the academic context. It is expected that this study may contribute to the construction of institutional policies that favor the inclusion in fact of students with disabilities and with specific functional disorders at the Federal University of Pará and other higher education institutions.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Models of self in families of people with spina bifida(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-12) FREIRE, Viviam Rafaela Barbosa Pinheiro; VALENTE, Mário Diego Rocha; PONTES, Fernando Augusto Ramos; SILVA, Simone Souza da Costa; KAPPLER, Christoph de OliveiraModels of self reveal cultural views regarding the competences that children should acquire, and these views tend to be shared by people within the same environment. Thus, this study aims to evaluate the models of self in families of people with spina bifida. Seventeen caregivers answered an online questionnaire containing socio-demographic questions and three scales of self: autonomous, related and autonomous-related. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and techniques of multivariate analysis. The main results indicate that the most valued model of self was the autonomous-related model, reflecting the desire that children develop autonomy as well as interpersonal relationships. Such a model, however, is distinct from that of family groups of people with typical development living in the same cultural environment, indicating the need for families of people with spina bifida to receive support to reach their developmental goals.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Parental Stress and Social Support of Caregivers of Children With Cerebral Palsy(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-08) LIMA, Mayara Barbosa Sindeaux; CARDOSO, Vagner dos Santos; SILVA, Simone Souza da CostaStress and social support are relevant variables for understanding the impact of disability on the care relationship. Thus, this study investigates the association between the parental stress index, social support indicators, and the sociodemographic variables of caregivers of children with cerebral palsy in a capital city of the Eastern Amazon. The following instruments were applied to 100 caregivers: the Sociodemographic Inventory, the Gross Motor Function Classification System, the Parenting Stress Index, and the Medical Outcomes Study Social Support Survey. For data analysis, descriptive statistics were used, in addition to techniques of multivariate analysis. It was found that most participants had high parental stress and a high perception of social support. Specific aspects of the perception of social support and sociodemographic indicators were associated with stress. This knowledge favors the design of more assertive interventions because it outlines the aspects of these variables that appear to have a more effective impact on parental stress.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Percepção de conflito em uma família recasada constituída por um filho com paralisia cerebral(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-03) FREITAS, Hilda Rosa Moraes de; SILVA, Simone Souza da Costa; PONTES, Fernando Augusto RamosThe increase in the number of separation/divorce has favored the emergence of new family structures. Thus, remarriage becomes a possibility for developing the family group which requires emotional, social and economic reorganization of the family, as well as greater flexibility to negotiate association, space, time and authority. The objective of this article was to describe the structure and dynamics of a stepfamily having a child with cerebral palsy, based on the members' representations of conflict situations. In this case study focused on a family, made up of three members: mother, son and stepfather. A semi-structured interview and the Family System Test (FAST) were applied. The FAST scores showed closeness in the mother-child dyad and distance in the stepfather-stepson dyad, with the hierarchy focused on the mother figure. As to the flexibility of boundaries, the couple's perception indicated rigid boundaries, both for the family and for parental systems, while the child's perception of the family system revealed diffused boundaries. Therefore, some factors highlighted in the literature and evident in this family such as differences in the couple's life cycle, short period of marriage, emotional baggage between mother and son, added to demands of child care, resources and biopsychological provisions, constituted a rigid standard with low flexibility, which made it difficult to include the stepfather in the group, resulting in less commitment to co-parenting in the care and education of the stepchild.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Rede social e papéis de gênero de casais ribeirinhos de uma comunidade amazônica(2010-12) SILVA, Simone Souza da Costa; PONTES, Fernando Augusto Ramos; LIMA, Leandro Cavalcante; BUCHER- MALUSCHKE, Julia Sursis Nobre FerroThis study describes the social network of two couples from a bordering community (Araraiana River, Municipality Ponta de Pedras, Marajó Island/Pará). Data were collected through a socio demographic inventory, a routine inventory and a field diary and analyzed by a network map. It was observed that the relation of the couples is based on economic and work alliances, company for leisure or religious activity. It has also been found that these relationships are marked by gender patterns which delimit the environments of daily activities, define the status that each one holds in the family and condition the formation of bonds in social networks.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Resiliência familiar: o olhar de professores sobre famílias pobres(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-12) MATOS, Larissa Araújo; CRUZ, Edson Júnior Silva da; SANTOS, Thamyris Maués dos; SILVA, Simone Souza da CostaThis research aims to describe the professor’s perspective about family resilience of their student’s family. The data collect phase took place in a public school, located in the outskirts of Belém-Pará city. Eleven professors who teaches from the first to the fifth year participated answering a semi-structured interview and speaking their opinions in a group interview dynamic. The data categorization was made accordingly to Bardin [Análise de conteúdo (2011)] and through the software Nvivo 10 version. The results showed that teachers understand the familiar resilience elements but they underestimate those elements in the school’s family; tend to have a negative and pessimist perception about the success possibilities and resilience in those groups; have a stereotyped vision of family; a stigmatized perspective about poverty and about the social benefits those family have access.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Rotinas familiares de ribeirinhos amazônicos: uma possibilidade de investigação(2010-06) SILVA, Simone Souza da Costa; PONTES, Fernando Augusto Ramos; SANTOS, Thamyris Maués dos; BUCHER- MALUSCHKE, Julia Sursis Nobre Ferro; MENDES, Leila Said Assef; REIS, Daniela Castro dos; SILVA, Sarah Danielle Baia daFamily routines have been revealed as an interesting strategy that allows the knowledge not only of its operation, but also the development of its members. Nevertheless, investigating routines constitutes a challenge to researchers interested in this subject, mainly when it is about groups inserted in differentiated cultural contexts. In order to provide a methodological contribution, this work describes an instrument of qualitative investigation (IFR – Inventory of Family Routines). This instrument was used to collect data about the routines of families who live in an Amazonia's riverside community, and whose main feature is the geographical and social isolation. The steps of the instrument construction are presented along with the necessary adaptations and the manner of results organization (FAD – Family Activities Diagram), all of them illustrated through an investigative case.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Satisfação no trabalho docente: uma análise a partir do modelo social cognitivo de satisfação no trabalho e da eficácia coletiva docente(Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, 2016-06) RAMOS, Maély Ferreira Holanda; FERNANDEZ, Ana Patrícia de Oliveira; FURTADO, Karla Cristina Nina; RAMOS, Edson Marcos Leal Soares; SILVA, Simone Souza da Costa; PONTES, Fernando Augusto RamosThe teacher job satisfaction: An analysis from the social cognitive model of job satisfaction and collective efficacy from teachers. Whereas job satisfaction is an aspect that has an effect on the motivational states of teachers, it is necessary to investigate its implications for teaching. Thus, this study aims to: identify factors related to job satisfaction based on the assessment of the dimensions of the Social Cognitive Model of Job Satisfaction (MSCST) and collective efficacy. For this, research was conducted on a sample of 495 teachers of private schools using mixed approach (quantitative and qualitative). Technical data analysis statistics were applied to the information collected concerning the total sample (495). The content analysis (qualitative approach) was applied at the open of 40 teachers from the sample answers. The results indicated that the efficacy beliefs (self-efficacy and collective efficacy) has no effect on satisfaction in teaching and other factors such as economic, may be more related to satisfaction.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Sensibilidade materna durante o banho(2002-12) SILVA, Simone Souza da Costa; LE PENDU, Yvonnick; PONTES, Fernando Augusto Ramos; DUBOIS, Michel JeanThe theory of the attachment has been considering the mother-child relation as a determinant of the development. Its quality has been being related with the sensibility of the caretaker, and consequently with the quality of the relations with its own caretakers. Recently, maternal sensibility has been related with several factors such as social class and education. The goal of the present work is to investigate some variables that influence the maternal sensibility in the bath situation. Sixty baths given by mothers belonging to low or average classes were filmed. The dyads were constituted by mothers that had between 18 to 40 years and children of 0 to 1 year old. Sensitive behaviors were less frequent among mothers of low class than among mothers of middle class, which were more educated, older and which have the possibility to share the care of their infant with someone. These results suggest that the maternal sensibility is a phenomenon related to sociocultural variables.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Use of virtual questionnaire and dissemination as a data collection strategy in scientific studies(Programa de Pós Graduação em Enfermagem, Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, 2016-10-24) CASTRO, Fabiana Faleiros Santana; KÄPPLER, Karl Christoph; PONTES, Fernando Augusto Ramos; SILVA, Simone Souza da Costa; GOÉS, Fernanda dos Santos Nogueira de; CUCICK, Cibele DiasThis study describes the use of online questionnaires and their virtual dissemination as a data collection strategy in Germany. The online questionnaire was elaborated using a virtual platform, creating a link that was disseminated in virtual environments. Participants were 100 Germans with Spina Bifida; 149 people visited the link, 83 of them coming from virtual forums, 27 from emails, 26 from social networks, ten from the German association of spina bifida site and three from the university website. With 55.7% of the participants, the virtual forum was the most agile dissemination medium to capture the data. This data collection mode should be used in future research, involving different countries, due to the speed, saving, good use of answers and help to overcome the language barrier. Public policies that support people’s access to the Internet are necessary, so that these studies can be conducted successfully.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) O uso do diário de campo na inserção ecológica em uma família de uma comunidade ribeirinha amazônica(2015-04) AFONSO, Tatiana; SILVA, Simone Souza da Costa; PONTES, Fernando Augusto Ramos; KOLLER, Silvia HelenaThe present study aims to demonstrate the use of daily field research in the natural context from the perspective of Bronfenbrenner's bioecological model. For purposes of illustration are presented data that were part of the masters research of the first author that investigated the perceptions of a family with a child with intellectual disabilities in the Amazon's river context. After data collection, data were organized based on the concepts proposed by Bronfenbrenner. The field diary allowed the deepening of analyses that were included both contextual factors (Amazon's river culture) and personal (characteristics of the child and parents) and procedural (relationships, family roles and shared activities). The data are discussed considering the contribution of the field diary in research that investigating families in context.
