This dissertation deepens the study about the class of descriptives in Parkatêjê and has as principal objective the refinement of the evidences than confirming the verbal status these lexical items. The Parkatêjê is a Timbira language belonging to the Macro-Jê linguistic stock; the speakers living in villages located at Bom Jesus do Tocantins, next to Marabá, in Pará State Southeast. In Parkatêjê, the descriptives present morphosyntactic properties similar to names and verbs and, semantically, express notions usually manifest by adjectives, in languages that present that class of words. As a result, from a functional-typological perspective, initially presents a discussion, based on studies such as Givón (1984), Dixon (1982), Bhat (1994), Thompson (1988) and Schachter (1985), about the names, adjectives and verbs, considering the various natural languages. Then, approaches the main features of these word classes in Parkatêjê language, based in Araújo (1989) and Ferreira (2003). In addition, expose the hypothesis of possible classification for the descriptives, for, then, to present the proposal of analysis this dissertation. This considers, principally, the morphosyntactic aspects inherents in descriptives, such as the time particles group, aspect and mode that may occur. In this way, the present study show evidences as to the fact of the descriptives lexicals items are considered intransitives verbs.
