Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Uma abordagem SDN para virtualização de redes(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-11-25) PINHEIRO, Billy Anderson; ABELÉM, Antônio Jorge Gomes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5376253015721742The virtual SDN networks (vSDNs) have emerged from the association of virtualization and Software-Dened Networking (SDN), providing greater control and better use of network resources. Several studies have already shown the feasibility and benets of this approach. However, the issue still lacks solutions that can virtualize a network in a scalable, intuitive and simplied manner. Thus, this thesis proposes an SDN approach to network virtualization with the aim of reducing the limitations on vSDNs. Therefore, it is suggested to adopt in network virtualization the separation between data plans (distributed) and control (centralized), the global network view and use of ow abstraction to manage the communication between the dierent points. To support our proposition, three solutions were developed: the CIM-SDN (Common Information Model for Software-Dened Networking), to enable the use of formal representation of the new elements of vSDNs; The NVP (Network Virtualization Proxy), to provide greater scalability by separating the control plane into centralized and decentralized parts; And Graph Virtualization Layer (GVL), to provide greater use of abstractions between the hypervisor and controllers, thereby simplifying the understanding and use of the network. Proof of concept tests was carried out for the three proposed solutions, demonstrating the feasibility of the approach.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Avaliação da tecnologia femtocell como canal de retorno para TV digital(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-08-26) COSTA, Allan Barbosa; CARDOSO, Diego Lisboa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0507944343674734; CAVALCANTE, Gervásio Protásio dos Santos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2265948982068382Traffic measurement on Digital TV interactive applications for fourth generation networks, especially WiMAX and femtocell, has been a challenge to researchers around the world. The traffic pattern of an interactive application on the Brazillian System of Digital TV (SBTVD) was identified. Simulations on a wireless network were carried out using data obtained of traffic analysis. In this work a WiMAX and a femtocell network were chosen to simulate the return channel of a Digital TV application on a WMAN (Wireless Metropolitan Area Network). In order to reduce signal attenuation, femtocell arises as a promising solution, reducing macrocell usage, as femtocells cover indoor environments. The simulations is this work were executed using OPNET software. Through them it is possible to estimate the feasibility of femtocell and WiMAX technologies as return channel for Digital TV.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Avaliação de técnicas de paralelização de algoritmos bioinspirados utilizando computação GPU: um estudo de casos para otimização de roteamento em redes ópticas(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-03-06) TADAIESKY, Vincent Willian Araújo; SANTANA, Ádamo Lima de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4073088744952858The applications on distribution logistics are diverse, such as the transportation planning and delivery of goods or in telecommunication networks data routing. Given the breadth and capillarity of these problems, studies have been developed to reduce network operating costs of this magnitude, especially regarding the demand for electricity. Therefore, this work proposes a method of resolution of routing problems with high demand. The proposed method is based on bio-inspired algorithms, which combined with other methods, ensure the integrity of the solutions, as well as its proximity to optimum. Nevertheless, such algorithms becomes computationally expensive as the application complexity in question grows and, therefore, multiprocessor environment, like GPU Computing platforms, has being widely used to increase bio-inspired algorithms performance. Thus, this work aims perform tests about the widespread parallelization techniques of these algorithms, intending to make an evaluation of which strategies has better relation with each tested algorithm. In order to do this, the routing problem in WDW optics networks with high demand level was used as a case study, in which it is needed define which are the better routes to demands sent simultaneously. The algorithms that assisted the tests were Genetic Algorithms and Swarm Particle Optimization, which are highly disseminated. The results show that the parallelization strategy to be used depends as much on the platform in which has been implemented, as the problem to be treaty.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Desenvolvimento, implementação e testes de um sistema de comunicação sem fio heterogêneo para acesso à serviços: aplicações na telemedicina e domótica(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-01-31) SATO, Roberto Masanori Vale; CASTRO, Agostinho Luiz da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2798180168487751In the last 20 years, economy and technology have evolved in many directions and into new areas. Many of these developments have created opportunities that are being considered in the conception of future communication networks. These new possibilities are related to, specially, use the internet to access services and include: mobility, low cost technologies, growth and jobs (over the Internet it is possible to participate in each business process and production) services, education (opportunity for people to grow and thrive), entertainment (virtual worlds for entertainment, shopping and games), a high traffic volume (text, voice, images, video). As a result, the Internet has become, like electricity or water, a public good. With almost 2 billion of users (about 28% of world population), the Internet is becoming, increasingly, a pervasive infrastructure providing anywhere and anytime connectivity and services. This world of the Internet current is the result of successive changes that have occurred since its inception and became the communications infrastructure of critical importance. In terms of communication technologies, mobile wireless systems have a special place because of its exceptional propagation in the last decade and, along with the Internet, has allowed the emergence of smart devices, the introduction of new innovative services and demand for an environment that supports innovation and creativity. However, the various network standards to support, mainly to access to last mile are disadvantages to the user's perspective, because it has to enable these networks (to contract the services) and often to have specific terminals to access them. The idea of a single standard for these networks did not achieve satisfactory results and a solution points for the integration of these networks to provide unique and transparent access to the user. This paper therefore presents an embedded solution for integrating wireless communications standards such heterogeneous IEEE 802.15.4 ZigBee, IEEE 802.20 GSM / GPRS and Wi-Fi IEEE 802.2. This heterogeneity of wireless technologies enables a user moving through your local or remote terminal access applications and services in the transparent way. Performance evaluation of the solution was performed using two types of services: home automation and telemedicine. The results indicated that the proposed solution can integrate and provide services with safety and reliability.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estratégias de planejamento para otimização do consumo residencial de energia elétrica: uma abordagem baseada em smart home e sistemas fuzzy(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-08-04) ANDRADE, Sérgio Henrique Monte Santo; FRANCÊS, Carlos Renato Lisboa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7458287841862567Residential energy consumption has grown steadily over the last decades, becoming a problem for companies in the electricity sector, for consumers and for the environment. The traditional measurement systems are not sufficient and have limitations in providing adequate real-time information about consumption. As also, they are not prepared to deal with variable energy costs in the context of a market with dynamic prices that depend on the energy mix. The future of electric grid, called Smart Grid, will not only be designed with measurements based on the residences, but also on the individualized equipment consumption level. From the residential side, consumers generally suffer from a lack of information on the specific equipment energy consumption impact and, consequently, on the required behavior to reduce its consumption. In this context, this work aims on a smartphone monitoring system concept, to control energy using fuzzy logic, in order to provide to the user ways to maintain his energy consumption, through consumption profiles, within the user-defined consumption patterns. The energy reduction demand through the consumption profiles working with habitant dependence degree on the electrical equipment present in the residence, promote a smaller impact on inhabitant well-being and the daily life.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estratégias evolucionárias para otimização no tratamento de dados ausentes por imputação múltipla de dados(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-02-16) LOBATO, Fábio Manoel França; SANTANA, Ádamo Lima de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4073088744952858The data analysis process includes information acquisition and organization in order to obtain knowledge from them, bringing scientific advances in various fields, as well as providing competitive advantages to corporations. In this context, an ubiquitous problem in the area deserves attention, the missing data, since most of the data analysis techniques can not deal satisfactorily with this problem, which negatively impacts the final results. In order to avoid the harmful effects of missing data, several studies have been proposed in the areas of statistical analysis and machine learning, especially the study of Multiple Data Imputation, which consists in the missing data substitution by plausible values. This methodology can be seen as a combinatorial optimization problem, where the goal is to find candidate values to substitute the missing ones in order to reduce the bias imposed by this issue. Metaheuristics, in particular, methods based in evolutionary computing have been successfully applied in combinatorial optimization problems. Despite the recent advances in this area, it is perceived some shortcomings in the modeling of imputation methods based on evolutionary computing. Aiming to fill these gaps in the literature, this thesis presents a description of multiple data imputation as a combinatorial optimization problem and proposes imputation methods based on evolutionary computing. In addition, due to the limitations found in the methods presented in the recent literature, and the necessity of adoption of different evaluation measures to assess the imputation methods performance, a multi-objective genetic algorithm for data imputation in pattern classification context is also proposed. This method proves to be flexible regarding to data types and avoid the complete-case analysis. Because the flexibility of the proposed approach, it is also possible to use it in other scenarios such as the unsupervised learning, multi-label classification and time series analysis.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) FOG: função de objetivo genérico para roteamento e alocação de comprimentos de onda em redes ópticas com tráfego de demanda estática(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-04-29) CARDOSO, Afonso Jorge Ferreira; COSTA, João Crisóstomo Weyl Albuquerque; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9622051867672434; FRANCÊS, Carlos Renato Lisboa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7458287841862567This doctoral thesis proposes a mathematical formulation to simulate routing and wavelength assignment in optical networks, without the inclusion of constraints that are not inherent to the basic problem and in order to be applicable to any type of optical network with a static traffic demand. The establishment of a route followed by wavelength assignment is one of the keys to the smooth operation of an optical network, as this influences on how the resources of the network will be managed. Thus, the process of routing and wavelength assignment (RWA) in optical networks, needs a solution that seeks its optimization. However, despite numerous studies aiming to optimize RWA, it is observed that there is no solution, a priori, that could lead to a standardization of RWA process. Whereas consolidating standardization is desirable in the use of any technology, the thesis described in this work is a Generic Objective Function(GOF) that deals with the process of routing and wavelength assignment to establish a basis from which we can develop a standard or several standards for optical networks. The GOF was tested by simulation in the process of wavelength assignment (WA) and the RWA process as a whole. In both cases, tests were performed considering opaque networks, bringing surprising results, considering the simplicity of solution for a non-trivial problem.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Game Serra Pelada: projeto, implementação e avaliação de um jogo educativo para o ensino de geometria para alunos do 9° ano do ensino fundamental(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-01-20) ELIANE SOBRINHO, Maria; RIBEIRO FILHO, Manoel; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9329438229733907This article presents the project, implementation and evaluation of an educational game platform, whose user the geometry concepts the Math Reference Matrix 9th grade elementary school with the subject I space and form. This new technology requires accurate parametric cable models for simulation, design and performance evaluation tests. Most existing copper cable models were designed for the VDSL spectra - i.e., frequencies up to 30 MHz - and adopt assumptions that are violated when the frequency range is extended to G.fast frequencies. This thesis presents new simple and causal cable models that are able to accurately characterize copper loops composed by single or multiple segments, in both frequency and time domains. Results using G.fast topologies show that, besides being accurate, the new models are attractive due to their low computational cost and closed-form expressions for fitting their parameters to measurement data.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Output-only methods for damage identification in structural health monitoring(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-04-27) SANTOS, Adam Dreyton Ferreira dos; FIGUEIREDO, Elói João Faria; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2315380423001185; COSTA, João Crisóstomo Weyl Albuquerque; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9622051867672434In the structural health monitoring (SHM) field, vibration-based damage identification has become a crucial research area due to its potential to be applied in real-world engineering structures. Assuming that the vibration signals can be measured by employing different types of monitoring systems, when one applies appropriate data treatment, damage-sensitive features can be extracted and used to assess early and progressive structural damage. However, real-world structures are subjected to regular changes in operational and environmental conditions (e.g., temperature, relative humidity, traffic loading and so on) which impose difficulties to identify structural damage as these changes influence different features in a distinguish manner. In this thesis by papers, to overcome this drawback, novel output-only methods are proposed for detecting and quantifying damage on structures under unmeasured operational and environmental influences. The methods are based on the machine learning and artificial intelligence fields and can be classified as kernel- and cluster-based techniques. When the novel methods are compared to the state-of-the-art ones, the results demonstrated that the former ones have better damage detection performance in terms of false-positive (ranging between 3.65.4%) and false-negative (ranging between 0-2.6%) indications of damage, suggesting their applicability for real-world SHM solutions. If the proposed methods are compared to each other, the cluster-based ones, namely the global expectation-maximization approaches based on memetic algorithms, proved to be the best techniques to learn the normal structural condition, without loss of information or sensitivity to the initial parameters, and to detect damage (total errors equal to 4.4%).Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Projeto de um controlador Fuzzy Takagi-Sugeno para uma estação de tratamento de esgoto por lodos ativados(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-01-24) OLIVEIRA FILHO, José Haroldo Sena de; BARREIROS, José Augusto Lima; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1246564618922453The mean goal of this work is the design of a Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy controller on an activated sludge wastewater treatment plant. This kind of process requires oxygen and aerobic microorganisms in the mixed liquor that are necessary to remove the carbonaceous matter and the nutrients based on nitrogen compounds. The controller acts on the aeration valve engine and has been designed to interpolate the proportional and integrative gain of three fixes controllers designed from the linearization of a continuous model of oxygen mass balance. The controller assists to keep the desirable dissolved oxygen concentration necessary to the nitrification, an oxi-reduction chemical reaction that transforms ammonia into nitrite and it is also possible to save electric energy used by the aeration engine. It is imperative the nitrification occurs for the success of the whole process. The Assays were performed by computerized simulation in four idealized scenarios analyzing the performances of the fuzzy controller and the fix controller designed to a different operation point of the set point defined in the plant. Applying a degree in the set point established in the scenario it was analyzed the rise time, settling time, overshoot and steady-state error. After the assays, the fuzzy controller performed better than the fix one at rise time and settling time criteria and equivalent performance at overshoot and steady-state error. After analysis, it was conclude that the control strategy chosen in the work is viable, according the dissolved oxygen measure at the plant entrance, the fuzzy controller interpolate the proportional and integrative gains of a fix controller designed near this value and thus act quite satisfactory.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Proposta de um algoritmo híbrido de agendamento de grants baseado na priorização de filas para gerenciamento de recursos em WDM-PONs(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-04-06) ALEIXO, João Gabriel Evangelista; CERQUEIRA, Eduardo Coelho; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1028151705135221Passive Optical Networks (PONs) have been experiencing solid growth in the last few decades because were designed as an excellent alternative to solve the major problem for telecommunications networks: the bottleneck in access networks. The next generation of this technology, called Next-Generation PON (NG-PON), is the consequence of developments in optical technologies and provides support to the next generation services, improving TDMPONs performance parameters and expanding the coverage area of these networks. This geographical expansion benefits telecom companies that focus their efforts to simplify the network infrastructure by the unification of metropolitan, access and backhaul networks, decreasing the amount of local exchanges and even the number of nodes and, as a consequence, operational and financial costs. It means significant changes in the access networks scenario that tend to have large distances between ONUs and OLT, and a wide variety of services, making essential the presence of scheduling algorithms that are able to manage all shared resources efficiently, while ensuring fairness and the control in the upstream and downstream traffics dynamic allocation. It is through this context that this dissertation aims to present a hybrid grant scheduling algorithm based on priority queues, which gives efficiency and control to the OLT in the dynamic traffics scheduling. The results presented were obtained by the scenarios developed in a computational simulation environment and were based on the delay and throughput metrics for evaluating the algorithm performance. It will be also evaluated how the amount of resources in the OLT interferes in these metrics.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Provendo soluções de comunicação em ambientes industriais inóspitos via PLC - um estudo de caso aplicado a uma empilhadeira de bauxita da refinaria da Alunorte(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2009-12-14) QUEIROZ, Normando Pantoja; COSTA, João Crisóstomo Weyl Albuquerque; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9622051867672434; COUTINHO, Mauro Margalho; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1214312180610688This work has as main objective to make a study about a system of data communication, using the power network between equipment as the physical media in a harsh industrial environment. In this case, it was implemented a pilot project in an alumina refinery, located in Barcarena in Para state, in a bauxite stacking movable machine, which had a system of data communication via radio, where many communication failures occurred due to electromagnetic interference, RFI, etc., prejudicing the process of production of the refinery. As an alternative, it will be presented the use of a technology more immune to interference which can improve the performance of the system for communication between equipment. This is the technology PLC - Power Line Communication, which is full-duplex and uses OFDM modulation, which reduces the undesirable effect of interference. In the conclusion, some comments were made to the obtained results and the expected ones about the reliability of the technology and its use for future applications in several areas where this technical can be used.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Smartcom: uma arquitetura inteligente de gerenciamento de consumo de energia para smart home(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-08-25) OLIVEIRA, Edvar da Luz; FRANCÊS, Carlos Renato Lisboa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7458287841862567With advances in information technology for a variety of areas, such as health and wellness, Smart Home based solutions using Internet of Things (IoT) technologies are gaining in popularity, including energy-saving alternatives based on Home Energy Management Systems (HEMS). This thesis defines an innovative architecture, called SmartCoM, which is implemented to monitor and manage residences using IoT technologies. Such a strategy involves defining the parameters that can affect the interoperability between measurement, management and the layers of data communication, which are the resources necessary for the hardware devices to perform the intended monitoring and measurement. In addition, an interface is defined by a middleware layer to integrate the management of external installations and the visualization of data through cloud services. The SmartCoM architecture is defined end-to-end in detail from the consumer's point of view and optimization strategies are employed for both the end customer and the utility. In order to evaluate the proposed architecture, a case study was elaborated, from which the viability of developing solutions for Smart Home according to the requirements described in SmartCoM is observed.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Um software de reconhecimento de voz para português brasileiro(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010-06-17) SILVA, Carlos Patrick Alves da; KLAUTAU JÚNIOR, Aldebaro Barreto da Rocha; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1596629769697284This work describes a speech recognition software for Brazilian Portuguese. There are some a little years ago was known what to do with such amount of stored data, in the days you act is known already that the organization that best to dominate the coming information of the is half that more chance will have to be well happened. Based on the mentioned premises is necessary that the responsible for the take of decision use tools of information visualization to aid in the ruling process, doing with that the same if turns more reliable, fast, intuitive and accurate. The information visualization uses techniques of data presentation with the objective of turning them more perceptible and intuitive for the user, however when there is need to present great amounts of data, the visualization is prejudiced for several reasons. To resolve this visualization problem, the use of the Virtual Reality (VR) if it turns essential due to the possibility that this interface provides just as interaction and navigability, characteristics that turn the most productive and interesting visualization. However, usually the ruling of decision is not made by a single person, and the tools in his great majority are mono-users, harming the ruling decision, mainly if the people are distant some of the other ones. With a collaborative environment of data visualization, it is possible to discuss on the same vision of data decreasing the time and unnecessary misunderstandings to the ruling decision. This work has for aim project and implementation a tool of information visualization in an environment three-dimensional virtual collaborative to aid the user in the ruling decentralized decision. Therefore it was used in the development of this characteristic tool of the areas of Database, Information Visualization and Collaborative Virtual Environments.
