O Programa de Pós-graduação em Sociologia e Antropologia (PPGSA) é vinculado ao Instituto de Filosofia e Ciências Humanas (IFCH) da Universidade Federal do Pará (UFPA) e foi aprovado pela CAPES no ano de 2002, ainda com o nome de Programa de Pós-graduação em Ciências Sociais. Iniciou suas atividades no primeiro semestre de 2003, com o funcionamento da primeira turma de Doutorado. Atualmente o Programa oferece também curso de Mestrado Acadêmico.

Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Cidade Velha e Feliz Lusitânia: cenários do Patrimônio Cultural em Belém(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2006-10-31) MIRANDA, Cybelle Salvador; BELTRÃO, Jane Felipe; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6647582671406048The Thesis was motivated by the rediscovery of Cidade Velhas district, in Belém, state of Pará, rediscovered by the authors childhood and the district as a memory space and landmarks for the risorgimento of Pará state. Analyze the concepts of patrimony in modern city, as though the mythic imaginary which lives in the citizens memory in tree stages: Pombal Colonization; the Belle Èpoque and the New Pará. The argumentation is constructed by actors narratives such as: old residents, new residents, business men, patrimony technician, so by the images reading which help to tell the districts history and to tell how is it saw as a heritage. The ethnographic method and the semiotic were the reading guides for the written spoken and visual materials, helping to the researchers position as an older habitant, architect and plastic artist. Drawing a map with the culture concepts in the Cidade Velhas district, since the residents point of view to the planers of Feliz Lusitânia Project, this work is as open view of the theme heritage in Cidade Velha, which revels contradiction between the definition of patrimony of the patrimony technician and the social groups.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) "É a festa das aparelhagens!": performances culturais e discursos sociais(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2008-04) LIMA, Andrey Faro de; MOTTA-MAUÉS, Maria Angélica; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7861116876230464This work is a research about the called festas de aparelhagem that, in generic way, are inserted in the set of festive popular promoted by aparelhagens, undertakings identified by the use of pomps electronic/sounds structure and differentiated by the “style” of parties that propose, the audience that attract and by his dimensions and different outlines. The festas de aparelhagem shape a wide and well-known scenary in Belém, through the relations that establish between audience, party and aparelhagens, marked by certain symbolic articulation that unfold for besides the festive moment properly stated. In these terms, this dissertation constitutes an interpretative study on the relation existent between the dynamic of reproduction aesthetic/performative of the festas de aparelhagem and the different hues semantic/discursive that these acquired: publicly (your communication in the large mídias) and in plans more intersubjectives, where there emerge the protagonists (audience/aparelhagens) of this universe.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Falando de amor: discursos sobre o amor e práticas amorosas na contemporaneidade(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011) GONÇALVES, Telma Amaral; MOTTA-MAUÉS, Maria Angélica; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7861116876230464This study has as its focus the discourses about love and loving practices experienced by dyads that constitute two partnerships in specific universes – the heterossexual and homossexual, both belonging to the urban middle classes. He falls in the field of more recent studies on the gender approach focusing on the new settings that affective and sexual relationships have assumed nowadays. In this sense, my interest about that subject was to investigate the discourse of partnership affairs, the idea of love (this love) and his expression in daily life which enabled me to identify its different versions and translations, as well as the approximations, defferences and ambiguities in the discourse and practice of love.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Menino que faz menino ainda é menino?: homens jovens e pais construindo o seu protagonismo(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-05-06) SANTOS, Jorge Luiz Oliveira dos; CANCELA, Cristina Donza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8393402118322730The proposal of this Thesis was to investigate the subjective aspects that are related to parenthood among the young parents that belong to the middle class urban population, in the city of Belém, Estate of Pará, who are living or lived through this experience. Due to the theoretical opacity, which is practical as well, the paternity event in young ages, the work shows an centrality of references that identify issues about the pregnancy amongst those Young parents as an exclusive female problem. At the same time, it was discussed in which way this phenomena can be shaped, among other things, in relation with gender and social class, which revealed very heterogeneous paths and profiles. The deconstruction of ideas coming from the common sense about young parenthood, with the support of the ethnographic method, that gives the voice, or better saying, listens to the young male parents and guided by an anthropological look, shows how those actors have been contemporarily constructing their role as protagonists in the parenthood event.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Sendo mãe, sendo pai: sexualidade, reprodução e afetividade entre adolescentes de grupos populares em Belém(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2007-11-23) PANTOJA, Ana Lídia Nauar; MOTTA-MAUÉS, Maria Angélica; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7861116876230464This study it focuses the events related to the affective-sexual trajectories of young people (men and women) of popular layers, in its majority, students of a public school. Guided for an antropological look, the research contemplated beyond the 36 adolescents (24 women and 12 men), main interlocutors, pertaining people to its nets of relations in the family and the school, such as: mothers, aunts, sisters, grandmothers, godmothers, teachers and friends. The direct comment in the contexts of sociability of the group was increased of informal colloquies and the use of the field’s diary, having been carried through deepened individual interviews with the 36 participants. In the interior of the different trajectories analyzed here, the contexts and unfoldings of the pregnancy during the adolescence, the maternity and the paternity, the conflicts, the impasses, the arrangements, rearrangements and the nets of relations established around the mentioned events are pointed, in the scope of the family and the school. The cultural logics that preside over the affective-sexual experiences, informed, over all, for the sort gender differentiations are detached. The objective was to formulate the understanding, as next as possible translated in a interpretation to the cultural meanings attributed to the events for that they live deeply them.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Sociabilidades no Mercado de Peixe do Ver-o-Peso durante o Círio de Nazaré(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010-03-12) NASCIMENTO, Lícia Tatiana Azevedo do; RODRIGUES, Carmem Izabel; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5924616509771424This paper aims to analyze some aspects of the practices carried out by fishmongers, rockers and glaciers from Ver-o-Peso through the sociability they perform. Assuming that the social practices are responsible for the signification or re-significations of the spaces, the Ver-o-Peso, the oldest commercial area of the city of Belém, is daily presented as a place for expressive activity of work, but eventually it is also a place of entertainment for those who work daily on it. From the festival, that takes place during the Círio de Nazaré in Belem, in order to render honors to the Saint, Our Lady of Nazareth, will be interpreted in the prism of an anthropological approach, the existed playful side in Ver-o-Peso. To perform the analysis, were carried out direct observation and interviews with those who work in the fish commercialization in Ver-o-Peso, more precisely in the Mercado de Ferro (Iron Market), as also known as Mercado de Peixe (Fish Market), which are responsible for carrying the Feast.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Ver-o-peso, patrimônio(s) e práticas sociais: uma abordagem etnográfica da feira mais famosa de Belém do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2008-05-30) LIMA, Maria Dorotéa de; CONRADO, Monica Prates; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6141735247260273This work aims at identifying and interpreting, by the means of ethnography, the cultural heritage of people who work at the Ver-o-Peso, the most famous open-air market of Belém do Pará. The focus is not the architecture and landscape as it was acknowledged as cultural patrimony by Brazilian state law in 1977, but the heritage as a means for aggregating a social group, conveying a sense of belonging and collective identity, as well as a way for attributing values and meaning, even by people who are largely unaware of it. The investigation methods included participant observation and formal and informal interviews, in four field stages, from 2005 to 2007. The cultural heritage that was identified has an intangible nature, but also is present in tangible form, around a space, one territory according a proper timing, which is also considered a place, defined by its users social practices and everyday routines, that reach other dimensions of social life. In that space, objects, body expression, feelings and sociability associated and developed during everyday practices, full of meanings and possibilities stimulate imagination and activate memories. From generation to generation, this legacy is responsible, together with those who preserve, reinterpret, and transmit it, for the maintenance of the essence of Ver-o-Peso, as well as for the sense of belonging and identification of its workers with the place over the years. The despite of the negligence of institutions, these workers preserve their culture.
