Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Aspectos clínicos e epidemiológicos da infecção genital pelo Papilomavírus humano (HPV) em adolescentes da região metropolitana de Belém(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-05-10) CAMPOS, Ana Carla Araújo; FUZII, Hellen Thais; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0026958665547973Adolescence is a period of a woman’s life marked by biological and psychological transformations that intensely influence future health. These women are more susceptible to STD. HPV infection is one of the most frequent STD, it is important to evaluate its prevalence because its link to uterine cancer. This study evaluated the prevalence of the HPV genital infection in the adolescent female population in Belém. These data were correlate to sociodemographic factors including social conduct, and reproductive behavior. A transversal study was conducted between August 2009 and August 2011 with 134 women between 13 and 19 years of age who visited the Maternal Unit for Children and Adolescents of Belém for Pap screening tests. The selected patients answered a questionnaire on sociodemographic data, behavioral and reproductive. Cervicovaginal material was collected for conventional cytology and for DNA HPV test by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique. The association of HPV infection and selected risk factors was assessed using the chi-square 2χ and/or the Fisher exact test, all with an alpha level of 0.05. The HPV genital infection had a prevalence of 22%, HPV 58 being the most prevalent with 31% and the least common HPV 11 with 3.4%. Among the HPV positive adolescents, there were 51% HPV infections that were not included in the quadrivalent vaccine (6, 11, 6, and 18). 72,2% had infection with at least one of the HPVs in the high risk group. There were cytological changes in 6.2% of pap smears. Risk factors associated with genital HPV infection in this study were schooled for more than eight years, with first sexual intercourse after 14 years, use of oral contraceptives for more than a year, and current use of oral contraceptives, pregnancy at 14 years or less, and abnormal cytological findings. The study results showed the prevalence of high risk HPV in non-immune-preventable cervical samples, demonstrates the need for new policies for primary and secondary prevention involving adolescents through instruction and guidance thus motivating them to actively participate in promoting their own health.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Aspectos clínicos, epidemiológicos da infecção genital pelo Papilomavírus humano em gestantes do município de Imperatriz, Maranhão(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012) SOUSA, Graciene Pereira de; FUZII, Hellen Thais; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0026958665547973It is known that infection with human papillomavirus (HPV) is widely distributed in the population, and is considered a sexually transmitted disease (STD) more frequent worldwide. Its transmission occurs through sexual exposure in about 98% of cases and its positive peak is observed among women of reproductive age, especially in the first years of sexual activity. In general, the infection is limited by the action of the immune system, which eliminates the virus within 2 years. Changes that interfere with the action of the immune system can influence the course of HPV infection, such as people with AIDS. During pregnancy, physiological changes occur that alter the immune response to non-rejection of semi- allogeneic fetus. This could interfere with the evolution of HPV infection, but this is still controversial. This study aimed to analyze the prevalence of HPV infection in pregnant women in the city of Imperatriz, MA and investigate possible associations between genital HPV infection and sociodemographic, behavioral, sexual, contraceptive and reproductive clinic - gynecological selected. We conducted a cross-sectional study of 168 pregnant women in the city of Empress-MA. The selected patients answered a questionnaire on socio demographic, behavioral and reproductive. Material was collected cervicovaginal cytology and conventional cervical brushed to detect HPV DNA by the technique of polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The association of HPV infection and selected risk factors was evaluated using the chi-square (x²) and/or Fisher exact test, all with an alpha level of 0.05. We studied 200 samples of cervical material was collected for Pap smear testing and identification of HPV DNA by PCR. The prevalence of genital HPV infection in pregnant women in the city of Empress was 17.6%, with the highest prevalence was in the age group between 18 to 25 years, which was 21.5%. Regarding marital status, note that unmarried pregnant women had a higher risk of acquiring HPV infection than married women (OR = 4.03, p = 0.0046). As for reproductive traits, there is the women who reported being primigravidae had higher prevalence of HPV infection, with 29%, which was statistically significant (p = 0.001), and 4 times more likely to acquire HPV infection than women who became pregnant two or more times. Interestingly, women who were taking the first PCCU on occasion, had a higher prevalence of HPV infection (25%) compared to those who had performed this test anteriormente.Os results showed a high prevalence of HPV in young pregnant women aged less than 25 years in primigravidae and among those who underwent PCCU first, so there is a need for measures to promote prevention and health of pregnant women with this specific target within the service routine Hospital. Thus, it is believed that such data can be very useful in planning programs, including the control of STDs, especially HPV.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Aspectos clínicos, epidemiológicos e moleculares do papilomavírus genital em adolescentes gestantes(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-08-14) CAVALCANTE, José Carlos Wilkens; FUZII, Hellen Thais; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0026958665547973Cervical cancer represents the third most common cancer in the world. Its etiologic agent is HPV. HPV is the most prevalent sexual transmissible disease in the world, affecting mostly young women. Adolescence is a time of behavioral, social and body changes, which reflects on the adolescent’s conscious awakening for sex, that can lead to contact with sexual transmissible diseases and early pregnancy. Being so, it is a time when the woman is more susceptible to infection, such as HPV. This project was dedicated to estimate the prevalence of HPV and to evaluate factors associated to this infection in pregnant adolescents in the Health Unique System, Pará State. It was a prospective transversal study including 257 pregnant women aging 12 to 19 attended at municipal (Curió and Tapanã) and state (Mother-child Reference Unit and Woman’s ambulatory of Holy House of Mercy of Pará Foundation Hospital) health units. The selected patients were submitted to a clinical-epidemiological questionnaire and to harvest of cervical-vaginal material for detection of DNA-HPV through polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The association of HPV infection and risk factors was evaluated through chi-square test (χ2) and/or Fisher’s exact test, with an alpha significance level of 0,05. HPV prevalence was 38.1% (98/257), affecting preferentially pregnant adolescents on the third gestational trimester (44.4%; p = 0.0312), between 11 and 14 years-old, with less than 6 years of schooling and those who did not have a mate. The risk factors associated to HPV infection in the population, also varied according to the gestational trimester, were “two or more sexual partners in life”, “first pregnancy” and “genital problems”. These findings show the adolescents susceptibility to HPV infection and, consequently, to the development of pre-neoplastic and malignant lesions. Therefore, there is the need of educational public measures in health promotion.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Conhecimento sobre a toxoplasmose e associação com os fatores de risco pelas parturientes de um hospital de referência materno infantil(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011) COSTA, Alfredo Cardoso; BICHARA, Cléa Nazaré Carneiro; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2161704040280760BACKGROUND: Toxoplasmosis is a parasitic infection usually asymptomatic, but with important consequences when it affects the fetus and immunocompromised. However, even in areas of high prevalence little is known about the problem among pregnant women who receive little or no information on prevention and risk factors for transmission in prenatal consultations. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the knowledge of pregnant women on toxoplasmosis in association with exposure to risk factors, socio-demographic and prenatal care. METHODOLOGY: We conducted a cross-sectional study analytic, from January to May 2011, the Santa Casa de Misericórdia do Pará, regional reference in maternal and child health, with 307 mothers of a total of 2,000 hospitalized in the period . Data were collected through interviews with plug consent protocol, three times a week, between 6-48 hours after delivery, stored in a database. RESULTS: According to the responses to each item in the form of protocol, the sociodemographic data showed the predominance of (p<0.0001), aged 19-24 years (n = 118/296, 39.9%), Pará (n = 290/305, 95.1%), residents in the metropolitan region of Belém (n = 191/307, 62.2%) of mixed ethnicity (n = 156/307, 50.8%), an education incomplete elementary (n = 106/307, 34.5%), Catholic (n = 148/307, 48.2%), in a consensual union (n = 174/307, 56.7%) who identified themselves as housewives (n = 171/299, 57.2%) and income from 1 to 3 minimum wages (234/281, 83.3%), data regarding prenatal care was higher (p <0, 0001): those who received prenatal care (n = 281/295, 95.3%), with the first quarter (n = 97/157, 61.8%), performing 1-3 consultations with a doctor (n = 134/256, 52.3%) in the same way with nurses (n = 152/249, 61%) who presented to the Determine HIV- negative (n = 253/259, 97.7%), VDRL non-reactive (n = 231/237, 97.5%), HIV negative (n = 226/262, 86.3%) underwent obstetric ultrasonography (n = 280/298, 94%) and serological tests, predominantly toxoplasmosis serology (n = 122/307, 39.7%) in relation to risk factors were significant (p <0.0001) information regarding the consumption of meat (n = 305/307, 99.3%) and cooked (n = 289/305, 94.5%), contact with animals, especially dogs (n = 158/307, 51.5%) and cats (n = 121/307, 39.4%), the use piped water (n = 169/297, 56.9%) and filtered (n = 55/129, 42.6%) and does not reside in wetlands (n = 231/292, 79.1%). In relation to knowledge about toxoplasmosis and their associations, it was observed that: 76.9% do not know (n = 210/273, p <0.0001), this knowledge is independent of the implementation of prenatal care (p = 0.0421 ), since only 25% of those who received prenatal care know, and 100% of those who did not know, independent of education (p = 0.0004), with a chance of not knowing (OR) 3.9 times higher in patients with less education, not knowing toxoplasmosis is related to family income (p = 0.0089) and have an income below Minico salary increases (OR) 10.7 on the chance it unknown; guidelines on infectious diseases in pre-natal non- improved knowledge about toxoplasmosis (p = 0.4586) and there was no correlation between knowledge of toxoplasmosis and risk factors, such as cooking meat (p = 0.8743), contact with animals (p = 0.9344) and treatment Water consumption (p = 0.1990). CONCLUSIONS: It is actually the lack of knowledge about toxoplasmosis among pregnant women of the country's largest public maternidde in an area of high prevalence of this disease. No approach to prenatal care on knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women about toxoplasmosis. The cautionary statements should be part of prenatal care, and this information should include a set of actions undertaken by public education and global health, coupled with professional training.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Epidemiologia da infecção genital pelo Papilomavírus humano (HPV) em população feminina geral e população carcerária(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012) PLÁCIDO, Waléria da Silva; QUARESMA, Juarez Antônio Simões; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3350166863853054The genital infection by human papillomavirus (HPV) is considered a sexually transmitted diseases (STD) more common, representing an important problem in Public Health, in addition to being directly related to promotion of cervix cancer. This study was to investigate the epidemiological aspects of genital infection by HPV into two distinct groups: Women of general population and incarcerated women. For both a cross-sectional study was conducted analytical with 423 women from the age of 18 years who underwent preventive examination of cancer of the uterine cervix being 233 women of the general population from a basic health unit of the city of Belem and 190 from the Rehabilitation Center in female Ananindeua in the same State In the period from January 2008 to March 2010. Samples of the uterine cervix were collected for the achievement of conventional pap tests and for the detection of HPV DNA by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) mediated by oligonucleotide universal primers MY9/11. All the women answered a form clinical and epidemiological. Among the 423 women surveyed, the overall prevalence of genital infection by HPV was 13,0 % with a variation of 15,0 % for the general sample and 10,5 % for the prison. The most affected age group was 13 to 25 years (19 %) in the overall sample; And in women with 45 years or more (21,1 % ), in prison. Abnormalities Colpocitologics, marital status, number of new sexual partners the use of oral contraceptives, history of STDS and genital symptoms, in addition to current smoking, were factors that were associated with associated with genital HPV infection by Differently Between samples of the General Population and prison.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estresse oxidativo associado à infecção pelo HPV e às lesões precursoras do câncer de colo uterino em mulheres ribeirinha(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016) BORGES, Bruna Emanuelle Sanches; PINHEIRO, Maria da Conceição Nascimento; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6353829454533268This study aimed to evaluate the responses of oxidative stress associated with HPV infection and precursor lesions of cervical cancer in women riverside of the Amazon. Involved 126 riverside women two Itaituba city communities, 68 riverine two communities of Limoeiro do Ajurú and 43 women of a community of Braganca city district, all in the state of Para, aged 14 to 60 years, attended the cervical Cancer Prevention Program Uterine (PCCU) in the years 2013 and 2014. Was realized the Pap test and PCR (polymerase chain reaction) to HPV detection. Collection of blood samples were also obtained for evaluation of lipid peroxidation (MDA) and determination of total glutathione (GSHt) and oxidized (GSSG). Sociodemographic information was obtained during an interview prior to the collection. MDA levels were higher in those with HPV infection in all communities studied and those with low-grade precursor lesions in Itaituba. In Limoeiro do Ajurú and Bragança women the concentrations of total GSH and GSSG were presented suggesting high expression of an oxidative response in women with pre-malignant lesions of low grade uterine or cervical HPV. While women with HPV Itaituba LIEBG or the full GSH levels were higher than GSSG levels, suggesting the antioxidant GSH response. Which is the first work that investigates responses of oxidative stress associated with pre-malignant lesions of cervical cancer and HPV infection in riverside communities in the Amazon, the results showed a significant association between oxidative responses and HPV infection, become relevant studies which investigate the main factors influencing the responses of oxidative stress in this population.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estudo da frequência das neoplasias intra-epiteliais cervicais em mulheres portadoras do vírus da imunodeficiência humana(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2003) AZEVEDO, Valéria Nascimento da Gama; FRAIHA NETO, Habib; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9202245658963683; LIMA, Fábio André Souto; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1304485376972715Cervical cancer and its prescursor lesions are the most important gynecologic manifestations of human immunodeficiency virus infection. Thirty six women infected with human immunodeficiency vírus (HIV) and fifty four uninfected were studied to evaluate the frequency by cervical squamous intraepithelial lesions (SILs), the precursors to invasive cervical cancer. All pacients were interviewed and had a gynecologic examination including Papanicolaou (Pap) test and colposcopy. Biopsies were done on colpocopic abnormalities. The CD4 cell levels were assessed in HIV infected women and we asked about use of antiretrovíral therapy on incidence of SILs, and almost all them used the drugs. The results showed that the frequency of SILs was similar in the two groups. The most of infected women had CD4 levels over than 200 cells/mm3. They were considered immunocompetent. And thirty three women trom thirty six used antiretroviral therapy. In our study the women infected with human immunodeficiency virus, using antiretroviral therapy, with immunocompetent status, had the same frequency of SILs observed on uninfected women. Approximately 291 million women worldwide are carriers of this virus. HPV is the cause of cervical cancer, that the incidence is higher in women after 40 years old, the same age of climacteric. Therefore, it is important to investigate the presence of HPV genital infection and risk factors in climacteric women to evaluate cervical cancer susceptibility. This study is to investigate HPV genital infection in climacteric women in Belém city. We evaluated 213 women between 35 and 60 years old, whose are assistance at Ambulatório da Mulher da Fundação Santa Casa do Pará. Clincal and epidemiologic data were collected using a questionnaire. Cervical cells were collected using cytological brush to detect HPV DNA. HPV DNA was detected using PCR with MY9/MY11 primers. To type HPV 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 52 e 58, it was performed using real time PCR with specific probes. Among 213 women, HPV genital infection was 11,7%. Associated risk factors were irregular use of condom and sexual initiation before 14 years old. Subtypes HPV frequency were 4% to HPV 11, 16, 31, 33 and 8% to HPV 6 e 35.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estudo da prevalência da infecção pelo Papiloma Vírus Humano (HPV) em mulheres portadoras de Lúpus Eritematoso Sistêmico (LES) em um hospital de referência de Belém(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012) AMARAL, Juliana Lasmar Ayres do; FUZII, Hellen Thais; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0026958665547973Introduction: Worldwide, cervical cancer is the third most common type of cancer. Almost all cervical cancers are caused by HPV (human papilloma virus), however, autoimmunediseases, such as Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) are also linked toan increased risk of cervical cancer. Objective: To analyzethe prevalence of HPV infection and associated risk factors in SLE patients, who are treated at referred care center in Belém-Pará. Methods: In this study, was investigated 70 women who has lupus and underwent cervical cancer screeningusing the Pap smear. The patients were divided into two groups of patients: women infected with HPV (n = 16) and not infected (n = 54). The detection and subtyping was performedby polymerase chain reaction (PCR). It was applied the Chi-square, binomial test, Fisher test and tstudent test with level alpha = 0.05 for rejecting the null hypothesis. This procedure was performed by using BioEstat software version 5.3. Results: The prevalenceof HPV in these patients was 22.8% with significant statistical results noted in women at the ages between 18-25 (p-value <0.001). Changes in the Pap smear and musculoskeletal symptoms at the time of collection, had also significant statistical results (p-value = 0.0360*, p-value = 0.0463 * respectively).Regarding the use of immunosuppressive drugs, the results were not associated with the virus infection. The most prevalent subtypes were HPV type 58 (37.5%) and HPV type 31(31.3%), and two patients manifested an infection of more than one genotype. Conclusion: InSLE patients studied the age factor has been implicated in an increased risk of infection, most of these patients had1-5years ofdiagnosis andallpatients with HPVpositive had abnormalities on examination of the PCCU.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estudo do HPV em fragmento uterino de mulheres com câncer do colo do útero(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012) FREITAS, Maria da Conceição Nascimento; FUZII, Hellen Thais; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0026958665547973Cancer of the cervix is an important public health problem, is the second highest incidence in females. HPV is the main risk factor for developing the disease, though not enough to cause it, requiring other associated factors. This study aimed to delineate the epidemiological profile and assess the prevalence and subtypes of HPV in women with cervical cancer. To this was applied a form epidemiological and viral DNA detection and typing of subtypes 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 52, and 58 for PCR. Ninety-seven percent of the samples about cancer of the cervix were positive for HPV. The prevalence of subtype HPV 16 was 48.6%, HPV 58 subtype was 10.8%, HPV 52 subtype was 5.4% and subtypes of HPV 18 and HPV 33 was 2.7%. Women in general were married had first sexual intercourse after the age of 15, had low education. Could not detect differences in variables among women aged 45 years and over 45 years, except the condom use was greater than 80% in women no more than 45 years, being statistically significant.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Investigação dos genes Bla SHV, Bla TEM e Bla CTX-M produtoras de beta-lactamases de espectro estendido em E. coli e Klebsiella spp isoladas de gestantes com infecção do trato urinário atendidas em unidade básica de saúde de Imperatriz-MA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012) OLIVEIRA, Adriana dos Santos; ISHIKAWA, Edna Aoba Yassui; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3074963539505872Beta-lactamases are produced by gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. About 40% to 50% of women developed a urinary tract infection during their adult life. The aim of the present study was the characterization of genes Bla SHV, Bla TEM e Bla CTX-M beta-lactamase-producing extended-spectrum E. coli and Klebsiella spp isolated from pregnant women with urinary tract infection treated at a Basic Health Unit of Empress - MA from May to August 2012. The study included 50 pregnant women over 18 years who presented with symptoms clinical characterization of urinary tract infection (UTI), referenced in the clinic in the Basic Health Empress - MA. Urine was collected for urine culture and sensitivity of achievement, subsequently was performed Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) to detect the presence of genes Bla SHV, Bla TEM e Bla CTX-M, enzymes producing beta-lactamases. The mean age of these patients was 21 years, 42% being aged 18 to 25 years, 70% of these fixed address in Empress and the other 30% come from other municipalities. Among these, 24% of the volunteers already had UTI during pregnancy and pregnancy out of state and 80% of them reported using antibiotics without prescription. Of the 12 samples with positive microbiological growth, 11 were positive for Escherichia coli with the antibiogram results that were resistant to the antibiotic cephalothin at 91.7%. Being isolated, a strain of Klebsiella spp, and this was resistant to all antibiotics tested. By analyzing the results of PCR samples isolated three genes Bla SHV, Bla TEM e Bla CTX-M, were not observed in samples P9, P11 and P12, but in the other samples was the occurrence of at least one of the genes. This study confirmed the presence of three types of genes (Bla SHV, Bla TEM e Bla CTX-M) among the samples studied.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Perfil epidemiológico de grávidas HIV positivas em maternidade pública no estado do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012) MENEZES, Labibe do Socorro Haber de; BICHARA, Cléa Nazaré Carneiro; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2161704040280760Infection with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) affects more women of reproductive age, which consequently favors the growth of vertical transmission. With the proposal to obtain information on the epidemiological situation of HIV-infected pregnant women in most public hospital in northern Brazil, was conducted a descriptive retrospective study involving 770 pregnant women attending the obstetric triage of Santa Casa of Misericórdia of Pará, from 2004 to 2010. After analyzing the data obtained from medical records under the ethical guidelines recommended, we obtained the following results: the prevalence and incidence in the period were 1.87% and 0.40% respectively, the predominant age group was between 18 and 23 years (42.1%), and 50.4% had incomplete primary education, 68.2% had home activities, 89% were single and most came from municipalities with over 50,000 inhabitants (Belém, 53.9 %; Ananindeua, 13.0%, 4.8% Castanhal; Paragominas, 3.6%, Tailândia 3.5%, 3.1% Barcarena; Marituba, 2.9%; Abaetetuba, 1.8% and São Miguel do Guamá, 0.6%). Prenatal care was performed by 91.9% of pregnant women, with 4 to 6 appointments (61.0%), 85.2% sought Units Basic Health Units and 12.8% of the reference service and follow-up care of HIV positive women, 75.1% knew that before the current pregnancy were infected with HIV, 3.6%, learned during the prenatal and 21.3% at delivery through the rapid test, totaling 78 7% coverage of the diagnosis of HIV infection before the arrival of motherhood, and of these 75.1% had specific treatment during the prenatal period. The surgical delivery was the most frequent (85.1%), 89.7% of pregnant women received zidovudine prophylaxis at birth, 85,1% of these had cesarean and 14,9% vaginally. Knowledge of epidemiological variables of the largest sample of pregnant HIV-infected Brazilian Amazon, arriving motherhood, concluded that the profile of age, education, adherence to prenatal care and number of appointments is consistent with national data, however, most pregnant merits of municipalities of medium and large are opposed to the phenomenon of internalization of the epidemic as the smaller municipalities in the country is being observed. A rate of 21.3% fault coverage diagnosis of HIV infection at birth, which is still observed in many Brazilian services, militate against the implementation of health programs with quality and above all shows that the care team need to better accommodate pregnant women during prenatal care, regardless of the number of queries, since the HIV test must be requested during their first consultation. These measures should be strengthened in the state of Para, which showed a high prevalence rate, in contrast with other regions of the country where there is a decrease, which has favored the increase in the number of children infected with HIV in Brazil.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Pesquisa de Streptococcus Agalactiae em gestantes residentes em Belém-Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2003-12-12) RIBEIRO, Kleber Dias; VIEIRA, José Luiz Fernandes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2739079559531098In the Steptococus agalactiaie infections in newly born two forms are recognized, that of precocious beginning, whose clinical picture is characterized by bacteremia with lung involvement, meningitis, septic shock and neutropenia, and the of late beginning, where the bacteremia associated to the meningitis is the predominant clinical manifestation. Being considered the gravity of the pathology, the absence of information about the incidence of this bacterium in resident pregnant women in the north area of Brazil and the importance of diagnosis, is fundamental the determination of the occurrence of the estreptococos of the group B in this population. Therefore, this study aimed the laboratorial diagnosis of streptocuccus agalactiae in the pregnant women feminine genital treat, in the last quarter of gestation, determining the incidence and alerting about the importance of the diagnosis in the prenatal exam. This study was realized in the period of February to August of 2002, in 50 pregnant women resident and domiciled in the city of Belem-Para, coming from the section of gynecology of the Federal University of Para. The bacteria identification carry out through the bacterioscopy and culture of the vaginal contents. Of the 50 studied pregnant women, seven (14%) presented positive culture for Streptococcus agalactiae. Of these, two (28,6%) were first gestation and five (71,4%) second gestation. This results to indication the significant presence of the bacterium, indicating the need of the adoption procedures for prevention of the infection by this agent, due the high index morbidade and mortality associated to the estreptococo of the group B.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Prevalência de HPV em material cérvico-uterino de mulheres de Tomé-Açú – PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011) PRAZERES, Benedito Antônio Pinheiro dos; SOUSA, Maísa Silva de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1775363180781218; BATISTA, Evander de Jesus Oliveira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2206444845201080The human papillomavirus (HPV) infects basal of stratified epithelium and develop proliferative benign lesions in skin or mucous. The infection has a universal distribution however many studies have demonstrated a strong association of infections by high risk species in cases of cervical cancer. In Brazil, this type of cancer is the second most common among women, while the north and northeast region of this country have the highest incidence. Therefore, this study has as focus the determination of infection prevalence in a group of women screened to cervical cancer. During the period of July 2008 to March 2009 were collected cervical samples from 144 women received at Laboratório de Citopatologia of Hospital Amazônia from Quatro Bocas, Tomé-Açú, Pará. All women were informed about the purpose of that research and then signed the Consent Form and answered the epidemiological questionnaire. The data obtained from the questionnaire correlated with the infection through the testing qui -quadradot. The HPV prevalence was 6,94% and the majority age was between 18-28 years. Samples from 76 patients showed inflammatory aspect (52,02%) and 60 patients did not showed any change (41,09%). Among smears with cytological ASC-US in the most of cases (6/10) followed by LSIL (2/10), and ASC-H (1/10) and HSIL (1/10). The HPV infection is statistically significant correlated PCR-HPV test with the age group, and cytomorphology. Prevalence found in this study corroborants with other findings reported in the literature. The predominance of infection in women with abnormal cytology strengthens the concept that infection is, in most of cases, asymptomatic, and the Pap smear method is lesser efficient to detect infection than techniques of molecular biolology.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Prevalência e fatores de risco da infecção pelo HPV em mulheres atendidas no município de Imperatriz – MA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012) ALMEIDA, Josenólia Araújo; PINHEIRO, Maria da Conceição Nascimento; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6353829454533268Infection with human papillomavirus (HPV) is sexual transmission disease (STD) of great magnitude for women, especially in developing countries contributing to increased morbidity and mortality indicators for being the main factor associated with cervical cancer. This study evaluated the prevalence and risk factors associated with HPV infection in population of women seen at Center of Medical Specialties from Imperatriz-MA, in the period May-June 2012. The study was conducted in 103 women enrolled in Cancer Prevention Program Cervix, residents in Imperatriz city who underwent sampling for cervical-vaginal Papanicolaou testing and determination of HPV DNA by PCR. The demographic and clinicalepidemiological data sheet were taken from each woman's gynecological records which occurred on day of harvest survey. The profile of women was predominantly age over 25 years old, married, african descent and education with over eight years. The prevalence of HPV infection was 10.68%. There was no association with any of variables multiple partners ((20%), condom use (23.5%), not holding an annual PAP (13.6%), cigarette smoking (22.2%). Prevalence of HPV infection in women attending in Department of Women's Health Care at Imperatriz-MA was relatively low compared to other cities. Though no variable demonstrate association with the risk of infection, early sexual initiation, multiple partners, STDs showed high prevalence.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Prevalência e variabilidade genotípica de Chlamydia trachomatis em amostras cervicais de estudantes universitárias em Belém, Pará, Brasil(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015) SANTOS, Leonardo Miranda dos; SOUSA, Maisa Silva de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1775363180781218Infection with Chlamydia trachomatis is a Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) more prevalent bacterial in the world and can be asymptomatic in up to 80% of cases and is associated with late complications. The university students are part of a differentiated demand of the population for their high level of education. Objective was to assess the prevalence and variability of the genotypes of C. trachomatis in cervical infection of public university students in the state of Pará, Brazil, and to evaluate the association of the respective socio-behavioral characteristics and gynecological complaints. They included 438 college students from September 2012 to October 2014 and cervical samples were obtained during gynecological examination. It was performed phenol-chloroform technique for extracting total DNA from the sample cervical secretion, and for the detection of C. trachomatis used the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) PCR-seminested the type for amplification 224pb gene omp1. For the identification of genotypes, we carried out a nested PCR for the amplification of the gene omp1 990pb, which was purified and subjected to ABI3130 sequencer, then the nucleotide sequences were compared with GenBank. The prevalence of cervical infection by C. trachomatis was 12.5% (CI: 95% ± 5.89) and genotypes were identified J genotype (36.3%), followed by D genotypes (18.2%) E (18.2%), F (18.2%) and la (9.1%). There was no significant association for age, first sexual intercourse, number of partners, and condoms are used, the presence of gynecological complaints and genotypes found in the study population. Although the prevalence found present itself high among university students, the lack of statistical significance may be due to small sample size and/or result in socially acceptable answers. Efforts are made to trace the expansion of C. trachomatis infection in restricted populations.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Risco ocupacional da infecção pelo vírus da hepatite B em centro obstétrico de hospital público de Porto Velho, Rondônia(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2003-12-16) SANTANA, Elaine Maria de; ISHAK, Ricardo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5621101706909450The prevalence of HBsAg and anti-HBc was described in 168 individuals, distributed in 3 groups: 88 in-patients of the obstetric service, 61 health professionals of the obstetric center (PA CO) and 19 administrative employees (control group), all working at the Hospital de Base Dr. Ary Pinheiro - in Porto Velho, capital o fthe state of Rondônia. In the period of November and December of 2000 and January of 2001 serum samples were collected, for HBV detection using an enzyme immunoenzymatic assay (ELISA). The prevalence of the HBsAg was 1,1% of the obstetric patients, 3,3% in PAS/CO and 52,6% in the control group. For anti-HBc the positive results were 5,3% in the control group, 27,3% in the patient's group and 42,6% in the PAS/CO group. The study by age groups related to the positive serology, demonstrated that from 15 to 25 years and 25 to 35 years the prevalence of HBV was larger, for the patients and control, and in the groups of PAS/CO the higher prevalence was from 45 to 55 years. The high prevalence of HBV in the patient's way lead to a high prevalence of vertical transmission. The positive numbers of 1he control group is in agreement with the endemic characteristic of the population of Porto Velho. Factors as the number of sexual partners, the use of preservatives and the level of education in the PAS/CO group were compared with serological results for HBV. The organic fluid and the most referred exposure via of contamination or PAS/CO were the blood and cutaneous, 43% and 22% respectively.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Soroepidemiologia da sífilis em gestantes e seus recém-nascidos(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2003) RASSY, Maria Elizabete de Castro; CORVELO, Tereza Cristina de Oliveira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7253864056606024Syphilis is a systemic infectious-contagious disease caused by Treponema pallidium, a parasite that is exclusive to humans and whose transmission is essentially carried out through sexual contact. The incidence of congenital syphilis has reached truly epidemic proportions, although measures that could control this disease are known. The investigation described pregnant women with syphilis hospitalised at the FSCMPA during the period of January 2001 to June 2003, as to socio-demographic characteristics, behaviour for promoting sexual and reproductive health and serological and clinical data related to syphilis in the mother-newborn relationship. The study is of a crosscutting, analytical and descriptive nature, with 245 pregnant women. Medical records of these patients were reviewed, with positive serology for syphilis and the newbom, tested by the VDRL method. The incidence of syphilis in pregnant women was 1.73% of the total of patients hospitalised in the last two and a half years. The epidemiological profile demonstrated that the main risk factors for acquiring syphilis during pregnancy were: absence of prenatal accompaniment and treatment, including for the sexual partner. According to postpartum maternal seropositivity, it was found that the possibility of a newborn having syphilis, if VDRL positive, was 98.68%. Jaundice and low weight were the most common clinical signs of syphilis, and prematurity was also a clinical sign observed. These analyses reveal the need for educational campaigns of a broader scope related to risk factors for acquiring this infirmity and better care for pregnant women during the prenatal period, with accompaniment and diagnostic control for the pregnant women.
