Globalization and the demand for sustainable actions of the current market, increasingly require the companies to strive for continuous improvement. Corporate managers seek at ali times to achieve maximum positive results for profit, with low production costs and that its activities are increasingly sustainable. The use of performance indicators is an alternative system for measuring organizational performance, being a reflection of this concern. This performance should be evaluated not only on financial information, because in this way would be insufficient for understanding the dynamic business environment of today. The use of indicator systems constitutes one of the major initiatives that can be implemented to track the necessary modernization and development of the construction industry in the pursuit of increased efficiency, efficacy and effectiveness in generating various processes that constitute the system of production. The search strategy used is a case study therefore aims to understand systems performance indicators used in the metropolitan region of Belém and the relevance of these for business decision making. To search 5 steps were taken: 1) development of templates for data collection, 2) selection of companies for conducting the research, 3) survey of indicators, 4) meetings with the participating companies and 5) proposed indicator system standardized. The main results were: (a) understanding of the dynamics of use of performance indicators in the region; (b) understanding of entrepreneurial behavior of firms in the construction of the metropolitan region related to the use of performance indicators systems; (c) proposed a standard set of performance indicators as a management tool to assist in business decision making system. R appears with the results obtained need to develop academic studies that encourage the creation of enabling environments for the realization of collaborative management practices, in line management of construction, especially in the development of clubs using best practice performance indicators.

Delays in public construction projects execution lead to serious problemas because these projects are planned to provide services to the community and financed by resources from taxpayers, thus, the public project managers must always seek to meet the stipulated execution and construction deadlines. This study objective is to measure the consequences of public constructions delay through the opportunity cost. As a case study it was adopted a Public University construction project aiming at the expansion of a Health Care Center for children with autism sprectrum disorder. The methodology presented applied characteristics with exploratory objectives, using qualitative and quantitative approache. This research aimed to characterize the time delay of the construction project, as well as the services that couldn't be provided, both for the number of attendances that were not performed and for graduate and undergraduate students who coundn't increase their qualification because they coundn't have experience of participating in such project. Through the study, among other things, it was possible to envisage that if autistic children needed to be treated in a private clinic to have similar care they would have to provide approximately R$ 236.50 per session. Another relevant factor is that with the completion of the construction project there would be a 34% increase in the number of services performed from the year 2014 to the year 2018. The result has shown that non-compliance with the deadline of a public construction project is much more damaging than a mere delay in time of the construction and should be avoided or minimized to the maximum extent.

Desempenho acústico das edificações segundo a NBR 15575 (ABNT, 2013): desempenho das vedações e validação dos requisitos normativos com base na opinião dos usuários

With the growth of large urban centers in Brazil, the population density and the need for housing led to high demand for semi-detached homes and apartment houses with numerous apartments, however, with the passage of time they became the result of user complaints in consequence of the low performance of the buildings. The normalization of the performance of the buildings was necessary. Several international standards address the issue, but only in 2013 was published the Brazilian standard of buildings performance NBR 15575 (ABNT, 2013), stipulating among other things, requirements for acoustic performance of internal and external walls, and slabs about the noise impact and air. However, there are some questions, such as: does the current construction typology meet these performance acoustic criteria? Are these criteria suitable? Among to answer these questions, field tests and questionnaires were performed with residents. Among the seals whose acoustic performance is required, the results show the inner walls are more distant to meet these criteria, and the external meet with difficulty, even as perceived by users. About the regulatory requirements for acoustic performance, are significant the annoyed levels generated by impact loads on slabs, highlighting the low accuracy, and even more worrying that the latter is the fact in not require acoustic performance criteria regarding the impact noise between walls, highlighted by the vast majority of respondents as the main source of noise.

O prejuízo no atraso de empreendimentos residenciais na ótica do comprador: por uma definição do custo de oportunidade na engenharia civil

The wish and need of possess a fix dwelling are recurrent on Brazilian families. That require a planning with sacrifices for the family's, the same that should be seriously impacted by the recurring delays on delivery of housing units. The objective is measure monetarily the prejudice or damages adopting opportunity cost to value measure. Two parameters were considered, divided into 3 factors: The first parameter consists of two factors: 1) a physical disease due to the sum of frustrations(psychological disease) named effectiveness cost, 2)The living cost on overtime of property delivery contract to the client wich in theory will have to support two residencies. The second parameter correspond to legal costs that covers the cost of court proceedings and attorney fee cost. Three scenarios were built. : 1°) there is no psychological harm, or will not be considered, there being no cost effectiveness, 2°) damage restricted to one family member and 3 °) psychological damage throughout all the family. In a case study involving a single major construction company, conducted in another well-established research, found that the delay is on average 55.4 months. Being science fragmented in several areas of knowledge, which often do not interact with each other, multidisciplinarity was essential to achieve the proposed objective. It can be concluded that the opportunity cost ranges from R $ 76,371.69 to R $ 383,661.37 in absolute values, ranging from 16.30% to 70.16% of the apartments market value, depending on the scenario.

Reciclagem de resíduos industriais na fabricação de argamassas e placas cerâmicas premoldadas fabricadas a partir de matriz sílico-aluminosa destinadas a construção civil

It is proposed to manufacture plates in structured network of PVC pipes, filled with mortar composed of rejected materials of civil construction, and coal fly ash, hydrated lime and Portland cement, inspired by the traditional technique of earth construction called “taipa de mão”, employed in the State of Pará, Brazil. The final product is a contemporary and ecological construction system for the execution of partition panels, aiming the decrease and the reuse of waste construction’ materials, whose disposal causes environmental damage. The rejected materials have physical-chemical characteristics which allow its recycling, increasing the duration of their Life Cycle. Aiming to develop mortar’s material having characteristics as plasticity, elasticity and mechanical strength were made experiments with traces consisting of construction waste and Portland cement, duly processed and dosed for the confection of test bodies. These were submitted to the tests absorption of water, porosity, density, compressive strength and toughness, resulting in the selection of the most appropriate compound, in respect to use in manufacturing mountable ceramic plates for use in partition panels. The plates were submitted to the tests of compression and tension.
