Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Ações de eficiência energética em navios: estudo de caso e um navio patrulha da Marinha do Brasil(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-08-26) AQUINO, Suzane Cruz de; MORAES, Hito Braga de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5044859479302394; TOSTES, Maria Emília de Lima; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4197618044519148Due to growing concern about the environment, the IMO (International Maritime Organization), through MARPOL (International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships), has developed the first mandatory regulation of the area about the energy efficiency of ships aiming the reduction of greenhouse gases emissions and costs related to energy consumption. This dissertation proposes a methodology of energy efficiency measures in a patrol ship of the Navy of Brazil. The analyzed ship, the P-49 or Guarujá, is a 19 years old vessel just as almost all its equipments. The Guarujá is electrically a isolated propulsion system from the power generation, then the target of this research were those systems with the highest electricity demand: the lighting system, cooling, electric power generation, saving and cold storages. However, the information available above those systems have proven scarce, thus it was exploited only the bulbs and some compressors and fan motors. The actions proposed to equipment available verification were 1. the exchange of the reference case bulbs with LED lamps; and 2. replacing the engines with similar specimens of higher yield. They were analyzed financially and environmentally by RETScreen software, an important tool for energy efficiency and renewable sources studies developed by the Government of Canada; with the aid of PROCEL simulator, BD Motor, promoting greater focus on the engines due to its complexity and significance in the optimal functioning of the ship's systems. The actions proved viable, with the total turnaround time of two years, reducing emissions by 164 tCO2 in 20 years and saving about R$ 352,974.80 at the end of the project time, thus justifying their implementation.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Adequação do laboratório de alta tensão da UFPA - LEAT aos requisitos gerais para a competência de laboratórios de ensaio e calibração da norma ABNT NBR ISO/IEC 17025(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2022-02-24) BRASIL, Alexandre de Souza; NUNES, Marcus Vinícius Alves; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9533143193581447Phenomena that cause electrical imbalances in power systems occur constantly, which generates the need to study them in order to allow the development of electrical networks and equipment that behave more reliably and robustly in the face of such disturbances. These studies are generally carried out in specialized High Voltage and High Power laboratories. Over the years, the market started to demand that these studies also provide results that comply with quality standards certified by official bodies. In this sense, this dissertation aims to propose the necessary adaptation of the High and Extra High Voltage Laboratory of the Federal University of Pará (LEAT) to the requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories defined by the ABNT NBR ISO/IEC 17025 standard, with a focus on development and implementation a Quality Management System; creation of operational procedures and safety guidelines; establishment of a calibration program for laboratory equipment; and identification of motivations, advantages and impacts related to the implementation of the requirements of that standard, as well as the difficulties and solutions found. For this, first, a literary survey was carried out that sought to know the national panorama of higher education institutions with accredited laboratories under the referred standard. Then, the process of implementing the requirements of the standard began, which was based on the methodology adapted from Grochau (2011). Finally, the lived experience allowed us to observe that the adaptation to the standard requirements in laboratories linked to public institutions, although complex at first, is fully capable of providing several benefits and advantages, as long as the peculiarities of this type of institution are respected, such as: bureaucracy; resource limitation; training of the personnel involved and; reconciling research and teaching activities with services provision.Tese Acesso aberto (Open Access) Análise de esforços eletromagneto-mecânicos nos enrolamentos de um transformador sob condições de correntes de inrush(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-04-27) FONSECA, Wellington da Silva; SOEIRO, Newton Sure; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7303174583088137; NUNES, Marcus Vinícius Alves; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9533143193581447This thesis presents an analysis of the effect of electromagnetic origin forces on structural deformation, stress and safety factor in power transformers when they are subjected to inrush currents. The methodology adopted is based on a magneto-mechanical assessment of the transformer using the finite element method (FEM). In this sense, the operating condition of its transformer energization is considered to accurately estimate the magnetic field density in the ferromagnetic structure and to find the values of mechanical stresses or forces in the axial and radial directions on the windings. These components are distributed over energized the high-voltage windings for observing the mechanical loading, which are more susceptible to such current actions. With this goal, it is implemented two- dimensional (2D) and threedimensional (3D) modeling of the discretized transformer structures in consolidated software, which are based on the Finite Elements Method, intended so to obtain more precise results in calculating the variables described. Comparisons between the results from the numerical method with those obtained by analytical methods are made, demonstrating that the FEM provides more precise distribution of stresses along the windings of the transformers when subjected to operating limits conditions as under currents inrush. It is also presented the magnetic flux distribution in the transformer, with high currents circulating in concentric winding of this. It modifies the flux path, causing in a significant increase in the leakage field and consequently on radial and axial forces. The results obtained for the structural behavior of the windings during inrush currents were also seen that the ends of the windings, where the spacers are located, producing high structural weakness due to the axial electromagnetic forces. This also implies a reduction in the safety factor at the ends windings ends and should be considered on the design of power transformers.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Análise de estabilidade transitória em geradores distribuídos: considerações sobre a proteção 78PS.(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-09-09) HERINGER, Wesley Rodrigues; NUNES, Marcus Vinícius Alves; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9533143193581447This dissertation aims to present the transient stability analysis in Distributed Generators, considering the performance of 78PS protection, against loss of synchronization. In this context, the studies developed in this work will be considered For two distinct real cases of two cogeneration plants with synchronous generators of different powers, being a sugar-alcohol plant, which will soon be connected to An extensive rural feeder of Equatorial Energia’s Paragominas 34.5 kV substation, being in the second case analyzed a fruit pulp industry that uses biomass Resulting from the processes as fuel for the steam boiler, which connects to the a turbine, to drive a generator. In turn, this system will be interconnected in a predominantly urban feeder, in a distribution substation of 13.8 kV at Castanhal in the interior of Pará. The analyses are carried out by means of complete simulation in the time domain through software Anatem© , considering two modes of voltage control of synchronous machines: 1) without voltage control; and 2) with voltage control. The studies provide the margins of transient stability of the machines and considerations on the protection against the loss of timing of synchronous generators. The results indicate that the use of the voltage control mode of the automatic voltage regulator and the coordination between the protection of the internal feeders of the industrial consumer and the protection of the plant are fundamental to ensure the maintenance of the timing of distributed generation. Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Análise de tensões induzidas em linhas de distribuição de baixa tensão frente a uma descarga atmosférica(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2009-09-15) CHAMIÉ FILHO, Ricardo Hachem Thomé; SOUZA SOBRINHO, Carlos Leônidas da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1450994881555781Numerical full-wave solutions of induced voltages on low-voltage energy lines due to atmospheric discharges on cell phone radio base stations (RBS), installed at the proximities of such lines, are presented for the first time in this work. Structures, such as towers and buildings, which present high structural complexity, have been modeled in order to obtain realistic results. In particular, this paper shows the importance of considering the effects related to real electrical conductivity and permittivity of the soil (in technical literature, PECs have been used to represent the soil in similar problems). For this purpose, a software has been developed in which Maxwell’s equations are numerically solved by using a parallel implementation of the Finite-Difference Time-Domain Method (FDTD), producing full wave solutions for the problem. The thin wire formulation has been implemented for representing thin cylindrical electric conductors and transmission lines.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Análise dinâmica da condição de runaway em reguladores de tensão devido á presença de geração fotovoltaica nas redes de distribuição(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-08-19) COSTA, Juliana Portugal da; VIEIRA, João Paulo Abreu; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8188999223769913Intelligent Transport Systems are several information and communication technologies applied to vehicular transportation. It is called intelligent due to its memory capacity, sensing, communication, information processing and adaptive behavior. Within this universe, the Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANET) provide communication between vehicles, as well as the telecommunications infrastructure over the roads. In order to achieve connectivity continues with high data rate and low latency, the integration of vehicular networks with LTE system is pointed as a potential access technology solution. There are many challenges found to reach the QoS requirements characteristic of entertainment applications, road safety and traffic efficiency. Therefore, this dissertation proposes a methodology for the study of the impact of radio resource scheduling algorithms for vehicular networks using LTE as the access technology. This study uses a discrete simulation approach, carried out with NS-3 and SUMO tools, to evaluate five scheduling algorithms: RR, PF, TTA, CQA and PSS. The criteria used in the analysis are throughput, delay, packet loss, spectral efficiency, fairness and qualitative analysis of computational complexity. The results indicate for vehicular networks is more appropriate to apply strategies that guarantee high level of fairness between connected vehicles. The evaluation also confirm the need to use algorithms more specific, taking into account the data generation pattern of these kind of application, with the aim to ensure the best performance for the network.Tese Acesso aberto (Open Access) Análise do enxofre corrosivo em óleo mineral isolante e remoção do dibenzil dissulfeto com nanotubos de carbono baseados em matriz metálica(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-05-07) SARAIVA, Augusto Cesar Fonseca; DEL NERO, Jordan; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5168545718455899Unexpected failures in transformers led to the identification of copper sulphide formation, deposited on the conductors. The qualitative presence evaluation of corrosive sulfur in insulating mineral oil, led to a change in the Brazilian standards ABNT NBR 10505, which assesses the presence of corrosive sulfur in mineral oil, change in the time and test temperature to 150 °C / 48 hours. Performing the chemical speciation of organosulfur compounds (by gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry), were found 13 compounds in the Nynas oil and 9 compounds in the Petrobras oil. DBDS, which was found only in the Nynas oil, and it was the compound with the highest concentration. To perform the determination of the presence of DBDS in insulating mineral oil, a method by gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry was developed, and it was possible to quantify the amount of DBDS in insulating mineral oil samples derived from the power transformer. The passivation process by tolutriazol and benzotriazol, used as anticorrosive additives in the core of electrical equipament, was evaluated; after a while the effect of the addition of passivating agent becomes ineffective with time. The solution for the remotionl of DBDS from mineral oil was realized by using carbon nanotube reinforced by metallic matrix as agent to remove the DBDS. It was found that the adsorption agent was able to realize the complete DBDS remotion from insulating mineral oil up to a volume of 4000 mL (oil contaminated with DBD).Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Análise dos impactos harmônicos em uma indústria de manufatura de eletroeletrônicos utilizando árvores de decisão(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-03-27) NOGUEIRA, Rildo de Mendonça; SANTANA, Ádamo Lima de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4073088744952858; TOSTES, Maria Emília de Lima; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4197618044519148The Power Quality (PQ) is constantly the subject of many studies, mainly those that are related to the industrial production sector, where are concentrated large loads of the electrical systems. With the evolution of industrial production processes and the introduction of new technologies in the industrial sector, quantities of electronic equipment bars were added that are sources of disturbances in the systems, and affecting the quality of the product "electricity". In order to minimize the inconvenience resulting from low quality of energy and damage to utilities and consumers (industrial, commercial and residential), it was developed in Brazil, distribution procedures in the national grid (PRODIST), created and developed the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL). The PRODIST aims to regulate and standardize activities related to energy distribution, including product quality standards. This work was concentrated and held in a company of the industrial pole of Manaus (PIM), which has a three-phase electrical system low voltage, in order to monitor the quality of the product "electricity" through the harmonic content generated by the electrical network involved in manufacturing. The data generated were subjected to computational intelligence technique (HF), using the process of knowledge extraction discovery in databases or KDD. The objective is to analyze, identify and diagnose the coupling points and processes that have representative harmonic content for the system, so being able to check how much each analyzed process may be affecting the power quality within the industry itself and the point of coupling with the concessionaire, through the generations of harmonic distortion, thus avoiding penalties and other sanctions regulated.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Análises multifísica via método de elementos finitos para o auxílio à manutenção preditiva em transformadores de potência.(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-09-21) SOUSA, Antonio Roniel Marques de; NUNES, Marcus Vinícius Alves; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9533143193581447The National Interconnected System (NIS) is an organ of fundamental importance in the Brazilian panorama. Its function is to electrically connect generating centers and consumer centers, whether they are business, commercial or residential. The main equipment responsible for the connection and transmission of electric power from the generating centers to the consumers are the power transformers. This equipment is subject to several types of faults that can affect its components, in some cases compromising the operation of this equipment, and consequently the supply of electric energy. In this work, a multiphysical analysis is performed on power transformers, coupling thermal and structural electromagnetic simulations with the objective of providing the operator with information about the ideal moment for performing predictive maintenance, avoiding unplanned shutdowns. For this, computational simulations using the Finite Element Method (FEM) were used and from this, we analyzed the different situations that these equipments can be submitted, in the nominal condition, as well as extreme conditions of operation like current of inrush and current short-circuit. In this perspective, analyzes of the effects that the thermal expansion and the axial forces and radia exerted contributing to possible defects in these equipments were carried out. As a study object, the simulations were performed in a 50 MVA single-phase transformer, which is an equipment that is in operation in the northern region of the country. For a more validation of the methodology used in this work the simulations were validated with real measurement data and with results present in current literature. In this way, this work presents a methodology that can help the technical framework of an industry in the decision of the appropriate moment of stop in a power transformer for the accomplishment of predictive maintenance.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Aplicação de método de reconstrução de sinais baseado em decomposição variacional de modos no processamento de sinais de descargas parciais(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-09-23) ALMEIDA, Vanilze Vaz Monteiro de; NUNES, Marcus Vinícius Alves; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9533143193581447High-voltage equipment in electrical systems is subject to electrical insulation degradation, which promotes the evolution of partial discharge activity (PDs), a key factor in operational failures of these assets, resulting in significant losses. Therefore, the analysis of PD signals for accurate representation of operational conditions is essential, as it aids in making assertive decisions in predictive maintenance of equipment, as well as understanding their impacts. The procedure for acquiring PDs involves measurements using invasive or non-invasive devices, which show the occurrence of this phenomenon under field or laboratory operating conditions. However, this acquisition is subject to interference, leading to PD signals embedded in noise, which may arise from the electromagnetic nature of the equipment used or from external sources. This highlights the need to implement noise reduction and signal reconstruction techniques that ensure good representation of PDs, allowing for precise analysis by minimizing the loss of signal characteristics for further studies. Thus, in this work, a study was conducted on four noise reduction techniques for PD signals: Variational Mode Decomposition (VMD), Adaptive Filtering with Least Mean Squares algorithm (LMS), Wavelet Transform with Hard Thresholding (HTWT), and Wavelet Transform with Soft Thresholding (STWT), for reconstructing real PD signals obtained from measurements with High-Frequency Current Transformer (HFCT). The results from the signal filtering process were evaluated using metrics such as Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR), and Correlation Coefficient (CC), demonstrating the importance of filtering methodology with the incorporation of VMD and the variation of parameters and filtering sequences established.Tese Acesso aberto (Open Access) Aplicações de controle preventivo baseadas em árvore de decisão para aumentar a capacidade de sobrevivência a afundamentos de tensão dos geradores de indução duplamente excitados em sistemas de potência(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-09-21) VIEIRA, Dione Jose Abreu; NUNES, Marcus Vinícius Alves; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9533143193581447The development of a preventive control methodology to increase the capacity of voltage sag recovery (Fault Ride Through Capability (FRTC)) of a doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) connected in an electrical network is presented. This methodology, which is based on the decision trees (DT) technique, assists with monitoring and support for security and preventive control, ensuring that wind systems remain connected to the power system even after the occurrence of disturbances in the electric system. Based on offline studies, DT discovers inherent attributes of the FRTC scenario related to electrical system behavior and provides a quick prediction model for real-time applications. From the obtained results, it is possible to check that the DFIG is contributing to a system’s operation security from the availability of power dispatch and participation in the voltage control. It is also noted that the use of DT, in addition to classifying the system’s operational state with good accuracy, also significantly facilitates the operator´s task, by directing him to monitor the most critical variables of the monitored operation state for a given system’s topological configuration.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Avaliação da influência da configuração de controladores de carga no desempenho de geradores fotovoltaicos suprindo uma nanorrede de distribuição em corrente contínua(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2022-09-09) ALBUQUERQUE, Luana Oliveira de; MACÊDO, Wilson Negrão; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3386249951714088This thesis presents an evaluation of photovoltaics generators productivity, using different configurations charge controllers used in isolated system, which them are interconnected and constituted a distribution nanogrid in direct current. This research is based on the use of real data of residential energy consumption collected from the region of East Midlands, United Kingdom, as well as electric vehicle charging data collected through an experimental project also conducted in the United Kingdom. This study examines transformer hottest-spot temperature and evaluates the transformer accelerated aging factor that influences the equipment's lifespan according to the thermal model presented in IEEE Standard C57.91. As a result, this study reveals that the effects caused by long-range vehicles are more pronounced, as they charge at higher power level and the charging process is longer. As the penetration level of electric vehicles increases, transformer load and hottest-spot temperature increases, especially during winter season, where residential demand escalates. In the case of vehicles with 75 kWh, penetration levels starting from 30% already causes severe violations on transformer hottest-spot temperature, contributing to a reduction in the equipment's lifespan.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Cálculo de equivalentes dinâmicos de sistema de potência usando algoritmos genéticos(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-08-07) SANTOS, Pitther Negrão dos; BEZERRA, Ubiratan Holanda; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6542769654042813; VIEIRA, João Paulo Abreu; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8188999223769913This dissertation presents a genetic algorithm-based method for calculating of power system dynamic equivalents aiming to represent parts of a power system for transient stability analysis. High temperature and humidity characterize this region climatically, where achieving adequate comfort conditions implies a high demand for energy for air conditioning systems. Different Energy Conservation Measures are evatuated in order to achieve a better use of daylighting; and to reduce thermal loads for cooling, with the installation of a thermal insulation material in the eastern and western walls, and a thermal insulation and air chamber in the roof, which are the external surfaces that receive higher solar radiation in the building. Additionally, various photovoltaic generation systems are considered, one of which is integrated as an architectural element and another adapted on the roof of the building. In the building, two types of analysis are conducted: dynamic and static. For the dynamic analysis, the EnergyPlus software is used to know its thermal and energy consumption performances, analyzed for the entire year and for the design day, and the Daysim/Radiance software to know the autonomy of daylighting attained, using data measured with an on-site meteorological station. Concerning the static analysis, the level of energy efficiency is evaluated by the prescriptive method according to the current national regulations. Subsequently, the same building is simulated for the nine capital cities of the states of the Legal Brazilian Amazon Region, with the aim of knowing its energetic performance and the economic feasibility depending on the climatic characteristics and electrical energy tariffs of each city. With the assessments performed, it is determined that the ECM have a direct and significant influence on the reduction of the thermal load for cooling, through the reduction of radiation effects, the shading in the eaves and the reduction of the transmittance of the surfaces treated. The possibility of maximizing the daylight in internal spaces, to improve the comfort of the users is also verified, allowing better performance and energy savings with artificial lighting. In terms of energy consumption and economic feasibility, the ECM achieve an annual energy savings of 52 % in the building taken as a case study, and the solutions adopted show a good return on financial investment, and are also suitable for energy saving and economically feasible in regions with similar climatic characteristics.Tese Acesso aberto (Open Access) Desenvolvimento de framework para análise e simulação dinâmica de sistemas elétricos de potência(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-01-18) SENA, José Adolfo da Silva; BARRA JUNIOR, Walter; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0492699174212608This thesis presents a flexible Object Oriented (OO) methodology for the design and implementation of simulation software system used to perform dynamic studies of large electrical power systems. In order to solve this problem, many researchers and scholars in the field of large rotating machines found that these failures were often related to the increased level of partial discharges (PD) of electrical insulation of the machine. Occurrences of PDs in insulating systems of high voltage equipment are symptoms of weakness in their dielectric withstand, whose evolution can cause serious consequences for the equipment. The PDs can be detected by measuring quantities associated with current pulses, radio frequency signals (electromagnetic waves), acoustic signals, among others. Among these methods the detection of electromagnetic waves radiated by PDs are proving to be a reliable technique to follow the default process of evolution. In comparison with other techniques such as the detection method based on capacitive couplers (conventional method), the use of electromagnetic broadband sensors is not invasive to isolation. In this way, this paper aims to show the evaluation of three different electromagnetic sensors of Ultra High Frequency (UHF) designed to be installed in hydrogenerators. The sensors used in the experiments are: microstrip directional coupler, loop antenna and log-periodic antenna. The sensors were evaluated by high-voltage tests to measure partial discharges which were evaluated all kids of discharges found in hydrogenerators, like internal discharges, delaminations, slot discharge, bar-bar and surface discharges, and through the accelarated aging test. The results obtained in the laboratory demonstrated that the directional coupler showed a high sensibility to all types os simulated discharges which results were validated by log-periodic antenna, and the loop antenna showed a low sensibility. The results also demonstrated that is possible to identify discharges through the UHF characteristics. The evolution of the PDs levels were evaluated through the directional coupler during the accelarated aging test, it was possible to observe the appearance of two types of discharges, delaminations and corona, the results were similar to those measured by the capacitive coupler.
