Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Detection of determinant genes and diagnostic via Item Response Theory(2004) TAVARES, Héliton Ribeiro; ANDRADE, Dalton Francisco de; PEREIRA, Carlos Alberto de BragançaThis work presents a method to analyze characteristics of a set of genes that can have an influence in a certain anomaly, such as a particular type of cancer. A measure is proposed with the objective of diagnosing individuals regarding the anomaly under study and some characteristics of the genes are analyzed. Maximum likelihood equations for general and particular cases are presented.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Evaluation via multivariate techniques of scale factor variability in the rietveld method applied to quantitative phase analysis with X ray powder diffraction(2006-12) OLIVEIRA, Terezinha Ferreira de; AVILLEZ, Roberto Ribeiro de; EPPRECHT, Eugenio Kahn; QUEIROZ, Joaquim Carlos BarbosaThe present work uses multivariate statistical analysis as a form of establishing the main sources of error in the Quantitative Phase Analysis (QPA) using the Rietveld method. The quantitative determination of crystalline phases using x ray powder diffraction is a complex measurement process whose results are influenced by several factors. Ternary mixtures of Al2O3, MgO and NiO were prepared under controlled conditions and the diffractions were obtained using the Bragg-Brentano geometric arrangement. It was possible to establish four sources of critical variations: the experimental absorption and the scale factor of NiO, which is the phase with the greatest linear absorption coefficient of the ternary mixture; the instrumental characteristics represented by mechanical errors of the goniometer and sample displacement; the other two phases (Al2O3 and MgO); and the temperature and relative humidity of the air in the laboratory. The error sources excessively impair the QPA with the Rietveld method. Therefore it becomes necessary to control them during the measurement procedure.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O emprego da geoestatística na determinação do tamanho "ótimo" de amostras aleatórias com vistas à obtenção de estimativas dos volumes dos fustes de espécies florestais em Paragominas, estado do Pará(Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazônia, 2011) SANTOS, Paulo Cerqueira dos; SANTANA, Antônio Cordeiro de; BARROS, Paulo Luiz Contente de; QUEIROZ, Joaquim Carlos Barbosa; VIEIRA, Tiago de OliveiraThe objective of this study was to determine the appropriate size sample to estimate the stem volumes stems of tree species from a population of trees to be cut in the forest management system of the timber company Cikel Brasil Verde Madeiras – Pará State, Brazil. The methodologies of systematic sampling and geostatistical kriging with sequential simulation were used, respectively, for the choice of samples and estimation of stem volumes of trees. The results showed that the methods can be used to calculate the stem volumes of trees. However, the kriging method has a smoothing effect, which resulted in an underestimation of the volumes. In such case, a correction factor was applied to minimize the effect of smoothing. The sequential simulation indicative presented more accurate results compared to kriging, since this method has certain advantages over kriging, such as not requiring samples with normal distributions and no smoothing effect characteristic of the interpolation methods.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Bioactivity of aqueous extracts of Clibadium sylvestre (Aubl.) Baill. and Derris amazonica Killip on the aphid Myzus persicae (Sulzer, 1776) (Hemiptera: Aphididae)(2011-12) FILGUEIRAS, Camila Cramer; FARIAS, Paulo Roberto Silva; CARDOSO, Maria das Graças; VENDRAMIM, José Djair; RAMOS, Edson Marcos Leal Soares; CANTÃO, Fernando Rodrigo de OliveiraStudies with botanical insecticides have become more popular as an alternative to Integrated Pest Management. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of leaf and fruit aqueous extracts, from the species Clibadium sylvestre, and leaves and root of Derris amazonica species at concentrations of 0, 1, 2, 4 and 8%, in the control of the aphid Myzus persicae (Hemiptera: Aphididae). Four experiments were conducted; two tests with choice preference and two tests with no choice preference, giving nine treatments and five repetitions. Phytochemical screening was carried out from the leaves and fruit of the species C. sylvestre and leaves and root of D. amazonica. Evaluations of mortality, number of nymphs, and deterrence index of the insects were conducted 24, 48 and 72 h after the application of the extracts. The aqueous extracts tested from C. sylvestre fruit concentrations had the highest mortality compared to the control; in the analysis of the number of the nymphs, the aqueous extract from fruit at 8% concentration had a higher efficiency than the other treatments. The D. amazonica leaves extract at 1% concentration showed the highest mortality and the lowest number of nymphs. The D. amazonica root extracts increased mortality at all concentrations tested, and the 8% concentration had the fewest nymphs. All treatments showed a deterrent effect. The 72 h period showed the greatest effect of the extracts, on two species of insects.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estimação volumétrica de resíduos lenhosos de madeira em uma floresta tropical através da Krigagem Ordinária, Paragominas, Estado do Pará(2014-12) SANTOS, Paulo Cerqueira dos; SANTANA, Antônio Cordeiro de; QUEIROZ, Joaquim Carlos Barbosa; BARROS, Paulo Luiz Contente de; SANTANA, Ádamo Lima deThe objective of this paper was to test the application of geo-statistical models to estimate the volume of wood timber residues in a forest area managed in Paragominas, state of Pará. The Warren and Olsen's and Ordinary Kriging methods were used to estimate the volume of forest residues in sampled and not sampled points. The results confirm that the applied methods were appropriate, given that the estimates for the volume of wood timber residues, in the area of study, showed a small difference of 5.2%, when compared to the actual value obtained.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Modelo de efeitos fixos com medida repetida aplicado em experimentos de melhoramento genético do cupuaçuzeiro(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-12) ALVES, Rafael Moysés; TAVARES, Maria Regina Madruga; TAVARES, Héliton Ribeiro; LOBATO, Tarcísio da Costa; OLIVEIRA, Terezinha Ferreira deThis study was conducted to evaluate vegetative performance of cupuassu progenies, in the immaturity phase, through analysis of repeated measures. The experimental area was installed in the municipality of Tomé Açu, Northeast of the state of Para. We employed 25 full-sib progeny of cupuassu, who had vegetative growth (height and diameter of the plant), monitored for three years. Because of the nature of longitudinal observations it was assessed primarily through Mauchly sphericity test, which type of statistical analysis should be applied. For the variable diameter, sphericity condition was not violated, therefore, proceeded to review the design scheme of split plot. For the height variable, the test was significant, indicating necessarily evaluate the best structure to explain the correlation of errors, being chosen the covariance structure Heterogeneous Composed Symmetry. Differences were found between the progenies only in the third year of evaluation, and the variable diameter of the plant allowed better discriminate the progenies.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) HS-SPME as an efficient tool for discriminating chemotypes of Lippia Alba(Mill.) N. E. Brown(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-01) SILVA, Aiêrta Cristina Carrá da; BARBOSA, Francisco Geraldo; MAFEZOLI, Jair; OLIVEIRA, Maria da Conceição Ferreira de; OLIVEIRA, Terezinha Ferreira deLippia alba (Mill.) N. E. Brown (Verbenaceae) is a medicinal plant for which several biological activities are reported, such as sedative, anxiolytic, anti-ulcer, antifungal, antimicrobial, antioxidant, antispasmodic, anti-nociceptive and anti-inflammatory. It is characterized by the production of essential oils which have been used to classify the plant in different chemotypes. In the Northeast region of Brazil, the presence of three chemotypes are reported: myrcene-citral (chemotype I), limonene-citral (chemotype II) and carvone-limonene (chemotype III). In this work, headspace-solid phase microextraction (HS-SPME) was used on the analysis of the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) of three chemotypes of L. alba from the Northeast region of Brazil, and compared to the essential oils of the plants extracted by hydrodistillation. Volatile compounds from each chemotype were more effectively differentiated when extracted by HS-SPME than by hydrodistillation.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Economic injury level of citrus black-fly in commercial ‘pera-rio’ orange area(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-07) LIMA, Bruno Gonçalves; FARIAS, Paulo Roberto Silva; RAMOS, Edson Marcos Leal Soares; SALES, Tiago de Melo; SILVA, Anderson Gonçalves daCitrus black-fly (Aleurocanthus woglumi) has become an important pest in many citrus-producing regions in Brazil, causing direct and indirect damage to plants. Due to the lack of studies on the economic injury level (EIL) for this insect, control efficiency can be impaired. The objective of this research was to determine the EIL and the influence on the productivity of orange trees colonized by A. woglumi nymphs in an orchard located in the municipality of Capitao-Poço, Pará, using statistical analysis and damage prediction models through multivariate statistics. Population levels varied along the experiment. Infestation by A. woglumi nymphs negatively influenced orange production in Capitao-Poço with the highest population densities of the pest associated to lower plant productivity. The level of A. woglumi infestation on orange trees resulting in economic losses was, on average, 47.63% of infested plants, ranging from 22.75 to 89.92% and EIL is expressed by equation Y = 97.39 – 8.43x.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Modelo de resposta gradual para estimação de habilidades com itens pré-ponderados: uma aplicação comparativa do indicador de competitividade agropecuária de propriedades rurais da região Sul e do Norte(Universidade da Amazônia, 2017-08) SOUZA, Ailton Corecha de; TAVARES, Héliton Ribeiro; GOMES, Sérgio Castro
