Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) 1952: a poesia de O Estranho de Max Martins(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-08-31) ALENCAR, Melissa da Costa; CHAVES, Lília Silvestre; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4273510661737259This dissertation studies the poetry of the book O Estranho, 1952, the poet from Para Max Martin and his knot with modern poetry. For this, we consider the poetry of Max dialogues with the texts of Brazilian poets of national renown and universal. According to Haroldo de Campos, a poetic relationship with the literary tradition and the project that requires the artistic text is a meeting between codes, in a rare ability to transfer the ephemeris even closer to the horizon of doing in the creation, fighting hand to hand with the word. This struggle with the verb is a fundamental part in the game poetic Max Martins. O Estranho, by questioning the place of poetry in his own time, the poet breaksdown the text and reveals the man and writing in the margins. The poetry of the stranger – the gauche drummondiano term suggests – is a “dialect” perhaps uninteligible to some. As the poem suggests that initial work, the language can even be incomprehensible, hence the word “stranger” (the title of the book and the first poem), in other words, a language shock, which is strange with reality, however, is whatever the poet, the transmutation of everyday reality in poetry. In this paper, we draw the relevant aspects of modern lyricism from a study on the concepts of Modern, Modernity and Modernism, passing quickly through modernism in Brazil, for to get to Pará modernism, and specifically the generation of Max. Finally, we propose an interpretation of the poems from the book (especially analyzing them in light of critical and reflective reading Benedito Nunes, the first critic of poems by Max Martins). Was also made publishing history of the poems before and after the publication of O Estranho. With this, we intend to contribute to literary studies regarding talk more al lenght about the important aspects of the poetry of Max Martins, especially about his initiation into the poetic world.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A consagração periódica de José Veríssimo (1877-1884)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2009-04-27) PAMPLONA, Alessandra Greyce Gaia; SALES, Germana Maria Araújo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8723885160615840It discusses the social, political and cultural life of the writer José Veríssimo through his production between the years 1877 to 1884, in Belém do Pará. To support this objective, four chapters are contributed which focus on in his texts published in magazines and newspapers that show the theoretical and thematic evolution of the writer in his treatment of national issues. The main purpose of this dissertation is to show the importance of the press in the middle of the nineteenth century for the changes in his representation of Brazilian culture at that time.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A presença inglesa no Brasil e sua influência nas obras de escritores brasileiros do século XIX(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2005-08-31) PEREIRA, Rosamaria Reo; SALES, Germana Maria Araújo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8723885160615840This thesis has the main objective to investigate the presence of the English writers on the works of the Brazilian writers of the XIX century. The English novelists who were important at that time were Daniel Defoe, Samuel Richardson and Henry Fielding. They contributed to the rising and consolidation of the novel as a literary genre. In Brasil, the novel developed itself with a greater freedom and attracted the public reader. The new public started to read the novels which re-created the cities, the streets and the lives of the people who were emerging from a social class called: bourgeoisie. The new genre which appears in England increased business, with the proliferation of magazines and newspapers of popular and literary topics. The Brazilian writers such as José de Alencar and Machado de Assis were influenced by these English writers; however, this influence was not only reflected on the novels of those writers, but also on business, on culture and on the social life in Brazil. Some narratives, written by José de Alencar, show in a subtle way, the British influence, their habits and customs over the economic, political and cultural life of Brazil of the XIX century. Some other examples of this presence are reveled on the works of Machado de Assis through quotations, references and allusions. Machado de Assis in his novels does some references to English writers either from the XVI and XVIII century or from the XIX century, such as Shakespeare, Swift, Fielding, Sterne, Lamb and Dickens, among other English writers.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) À procura de Mário Faustino tradutor(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-03-31) VERÍSSIMO, Thiago André dos Santos; LEAL, Izabela Guimarães Guerra; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2507019514021007The 1940s and the 1950s are significant for the process of cultural diffusion in Brazilian newspapers, with notable performances of writers, poets and scholars on many journals of that time. Thus, the ambiance of the newspapers became modern and creative on behalf of culture and literature. At that time, there were two newspapers which contributed, through their literary supplements, to the cultural movement in Belém, state of Pará, Brazil, which were: “Arte Literatura”, from Folha do Norte and “Arte e Literatura”, from A Província do Pará. In this ambiance, Mário Faustino has initiated his literary life publishing chronicles and poems in newspapers, and, above all, he worked as a translator of poetry. At the age of only 16 years old, Faustino has begun translating a laundry list of writers of international literature, from the Spanish, the French and the English. This analysis work aims to map Mário Faustino’s training as a translator, from his early translated poems. For this purpose, we discuss the notion of translation as a process of training and critical development.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O abaixamento das médias pretônicas no português falado em Aurora do Pará – PA: uma análise variacionista(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-08-19) FERREIRA, Jany Éric Queirós; CRUZ, Regina Célia Fernandes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3307472469778577This research has as an object of study investigating the lowering of the average unstressed variety of Portuguese spoken in Aurora do Pará (PA). It was based on the assumptions of quantitative sociolinguistics Labov (1972), and support needed to investigate systematic variation of a language community. In addition, some methodological procedures adopted by Bortoni - Ricardo (1985) for analysis, important for the study of dialects in communities of migration, social networks were used as in the case of Aurora do Pará, located in the Northeast of Pará and Mesoregion its particularity that the fact of having received significant emigration in the decades of 60,70 and 80 of the last century. The corpus was formed from recordings of interviews of 28 informants were divided into two groups: a) a tether, with 19 migrant informants of Ceará ( nine (9) male and 10 (ten) female), distributed in the age groups 30-46 years and above 50 years; b) a control group, with nine (9) informants (three (3) males and six (6) female), group descended paraenses anchorage. The corpus data submitted to analysis totaled 4,033 occurrences of vowels object, previous (2394) and later (1639). Were established as extralinguistic variables: sex, sample group, residence time, and location. For linguistic variables were considered: the nature of the stressed vowel, pre- pretonica vowel when oral, pre-pretonica when nasal vowel, vowel contiguous distance on the stressed syllable, atonicidade, nature of the suffix, depending on the onset of the syllable vowel target, depending on the onset of the following vowel syllable and syllable weight. After statistical analyzes computed by Goldvarb software, the results showed that in the dialect of Aurora do Pará/PA predominant variants not lowering – [i,e].71 and [u,o] .74 at the expense of lowering - [ E] .28 and [O] .26 . For lowering favoring the variables were: ( i) the nature of the stressed vowel, (ii) pre- pretônica vowel, where oral, (iii ) vowel contiguous, (iv) distance from the syllable tonic, (v) atonicidade (vi) Nature of the suffix , (vii) depending on the onset of the syllable of the target vowel, (viii) depending on the onset of the following syllable, (ix) syllabic weight in relation to syllable vowel target, (x) sex, (xi) range age, (xii) residence time. The results revealed loss of dialectal brand of Ceará migrants because of the dialect contact with other dialects and showed that vowel lowering in the dialect in question is caused mainly by the vowel harmony process. These results are a reflection of the social network of informants which has low density and is uniplex, characterizing them as more likely to cultural changes and linguistic innovations.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O abaixamento das vogais médias pretônicas em Belém/PA: um estudo variacionista sobre o dialeto do migrante maranhense frente ao dialeto falado em Belém/PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-02-23) FAGUNDES, Giselda da Rocha; CRUZ, Regina Célia Fernandes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3307472469778577This study aimed to investigate the lowering of the middle unstressed vowels in the variety of Portuguese spoken in Belém (PA). We base ourselves on the assumptions of quantitative sociolinguistics of Labov (1972), and used some methodological procedures adopted by Bortoni-Ricardo (1985) for the analysis of social networks, which are important for the study of dialects in migration communities, as is the case of Bethlehem, which received intense migration in the 50 to 80 of the last century. Also used for comparison, results Castro (2008), Jones (2010), and Ferreira (2013). The corpus was formed from recordings of 18 informants interviews, divided into two groups: a) a tether, with twelve (12) migrant informants state of Maranhão (six (06) male and six (06) female), aged 50 or more, and who reside in Bethlehem more than twenty-five years; b) a control group, with 06 (six) informants (three (03) male and three (03) were female), Pará descendants of the anchor group, aged between 20 and 30 years, or who migrated to Bethlehem very new, with up to three years. The corpus of data submitted to analysis totaled 3.099 occurrences of vowels object, before (1.948) and later (1.151). Were established as extralinguistic variables: sex, sample group and educational level. For linguistic variables were considered: height stressed vowel, the tonic decrease of degree, degree of nasality of tonic, pretônica position in the word, adjacent vowel, distance on the stressed syllable, previous segment, next segment and type of rhyme. After statistical analysis computed by Goldvarb X software, the results showed that in the dialect of Belém / PA there is a predominance of maintenance variants - [e] and 40.7% [the] 43.5% at the expense of the increasing height - [ i] and 23.9% [u] 16.1%, and lowering - [E] 35.5% and [O] 40.4%, however, to be lowering the most productive variant in Maranhão, this was the phenomenon analyzed. The linguistic variables that favored the lowering of the studied variants were: (i) time of stressed vowel, (ii) the degree of decline of tonic, (iii) degree of nasality of tonic, (iv) contiguous vowel, (v) distance on the stressed syllable, (vi) the previous segment, (vii) next segment and (viii) type of rhyme. With regard to extra-linguistic variables (ix) the sample group favored lowering both much and variable (x) sex only favored the lowering . The results revealed maintenance of dialectal brand of Maranhão migrants even under interdialetal contact with another dialect and showed that vowel lowering dialect in question is motivated mainly by vowel harmony process. These results reflect the social network of informants, which has high density and whose vernacular is a symbol of identity.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O aberto na obra de Paulo Plínio Abreu(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-07-05) SANTIAGO, Rúbia de Nazaré Duarte; FERRAZ, Antônio Máximo von Sohsten Gomes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5982898787473373This dissertation presents a study about the opening issue on the Works of the paraense poet, Paulo Plínio Abreu. Such issue is very marked in the poem “Oitava Elegia” by Rainer Maria Rilke and brought many ideas to Martin Heidegger’s philosophy. In his work Parmenides, the german philosopher shows how the Greeks understand the opening as the essence of truth and with this insight he makes a parallel with Rilke’s poem. Paulo Plínio was a translator of Rilke’s works and incorporated the opening in his own poems, in the work of truth, however in a singular way. This presented study concerns about how each of the authors cited above show the opening issue, focusing in Paulo Plínio’s works. He uses the opening issue by the hearing of night images, the travel, the angel and the death present in his work Poesia.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O aconselhamento linguageiro como forma de intervenção e formação docente(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-06-24) NONATO, Rejane Santos; SILVA, Walkyria Alydia Grahl Passos Magno e; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6129530461830312This research aims at finding ways to improve the in-service training of English teachers from countryside public schools of Pará State. In order to do so, I use the language advising (LA) which is a form of language support that through conversations, aims at promoting selfdirected learning (GARDNER; MILLER, 1999; MOZZON-McPHERSON, 2007; RILEY, 1997; VIEIRA, 2007). I base myself on Vygotsky (1984) studies, which discuss human development and knowledge construction; Benson (2001), which deals with the process of autonomization, and Mozzon-McPherson (2001), which is about language advising. The research methodology belongs to the qualitative research method since it is an action research. The sequence of procedures was nested in the project coordinated by Magno e Silva (2013), in which firstly, the advisee’s personal experience of learning the FL was analyzed and an area of personal preoccupation was identified; then it was planned proactively targeting the area of personal preoccupation, the third step was to exert a monitored intervention, and finally, as a last step, it was done the evaluation and the replanning. To carry out this research it was used as instruments of data collection learning narratives, needs analysis questionnaire, reports of advising sessions. Subsequently, the data obtained through these instruments were organized and analyzed in the light of the theory raised. The results indicated that the LA can help in the formation of teachers in practice favoring the development of autonomy of these professionals, once the advising period allowed teachers reflect on their language knowledge, their beliefs, difficulties and strategies to overcome these difficulties, leading these teachers to perform actions in search of their linguistic and professional development.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O aconselhamento linguageiro na autonomização de aprendentes surdos no processo apropriação da Língua Portuguesa sob a ótica da complexidade(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-08-15) CRUZ, Eder Barbosa; SILVA, Walkyria Alydia Grahl Passos Magno e; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6129530461830312Language advising (LA) is a modality of accompanying language learners, which aims at leading them to a reflection on their own learning in order to make them more autonomous. Mynard (2012) presents a model for LA based on three interconnected axes: dialogue, tools and context. Magno e Silva, Sá e Matos and Rabelo (2015) sought in the theoretical contribution of the Complexity Paradigm the subsidies to show that LA in the model of Mynard (2012) benefits from an approach with the Complex Adaptive Systems Theory (MORIN, 2010, LARSEN-FREEMAN and CAMERON 2008). This dissertation follows the framework of the expansion of this model of LA to meet deaf learners of Portuguese language and who communicate through a language modulated in the visual-spatial context. Thus, our purpose is to investigate LA as an autonomy nurturing of deaf students in the Portuguese acquisition process. To this end, we carried out this case study with seventh year deaf learners of a public school in Belém, Pará. For the data collection, advising sessions with deaf Portuguese learners were filmed. The results showed that the Dialogue, Tools and Context Model for LA (MYNARD, 2012), in its understanding as a complex adaptive system (MAGNO E SILVA; SÁ AND MATOS; RABELO, 2015), if rethought, considering the specificities of Deaf learners and their sign language, can favor the practice of advising with these learners, foster their autonomy and improve their learning of Portuguese.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Aconselhamento linguageiro, motivação e autonomia: um estudo de caso em escrita acadêmica em inglês(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-09-04) MARTINS, Marja Ferreira; SILVA, Walkyria Alydia Grahl Passos Magno e; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6129530461830312The difficulty reported by my classmates to write their final papers and the recent studies about language counseling started by me at the time prompted me to promote a research where I could verify the impact of counseling techniques in the students’ learning process of English as FL with difficulties in academic writing. Making connections with other areas such as autonomy and motivation, which had already been the focus of my attention. I decided to conduct a research aiming to verify how the language counseling can work as a scaffold to the autonomy of undergraduate students in English as a foreign language focusing on the academic writing skills improvement and, at the same time, to analyze the impact of this experience on their motivational process. For this, I search to verify, through a case study, how is the relationship between counselor and advised develops and describe, using multiple data collection resources (facebook chat, recording and transcription of chat sessions related to their writing problems and a final interview) to a better performance in academic writing. The results obtained through analysis of the collected material allowed me to observe that actually there is a considerable impact of language counseling techniques described by Kelly (1996), Stickler (2001) and Mynard (2012) both in autonomy and in student’s motivation process toward to the development their his writing skills for academic purposes.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Agulhas e galhofas no romance A Família Agulha (1870) de Luís Guimarães Júnior(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-07-07) BORCEM, Rogerio Pereira; QUEIROZ, Juliana Maia de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0783166655929922; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1741-1725Luís Guimarães Júnior was born on February 17, 1845 in Rio de Janeiro and died on May 20, 1898 in Lisbon. The writer most often forgotten by literary stories and criticism in general was an important man of letters in the 19th century. He produced a considerable number of texts of the most diverse genres and among all this diversity of writings published mainly in the Diário do Rio de Janeiro there is the work A família da Agulha (1870). In view of the rescue of this important literary production of the 19th century, in this research we intend to carry out a critical analysis of this novel, highlighting the issues present in the work and the mechanisms of construction of the narrative itself. Moreover we intend to highlight aspects related to the author's life, his relations with the publishing market of the time, the engagiment with the reading public as well as the critical receptions about his publications in general and more specifically the novel in question. Such appreciation was consolidated mainly from the analysis of some primary sources due to the scarcity of research and studies that target both the writer and his work. Among these sources, the newspaper Diário do Rio de Janeiro from 1869 to 1872 is cited as an example, a period in which Guimarães Júnior served as the writer of this periodical.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Álbum de leitura de Rachel de Queiroz(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-08-31) SILVA, Joana Angélica de Souza; SALES, Germana Maria Araújo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8723885160615840In Brazil, in the decades of 1930 to 1960, a novel collection became very popular and consumed by young women from the medium class. These romances were translated and edited by Companhia Editora Nacional (SP), they were sold all over the country with the title Coleção Biblioteca das moças. The collection was composed by 175 volumes and most of them were written by M. Delly (35 volumes). M. Delly was a pseudonym of a couple of French brothers – Fréderic Henri Petitjean de La Rosiére (1870 – 1949) and Jeanne-Marie Henriette Petitjean de La Rosiére (1875-1947). One of the readers of this collection was Rachel de Queiroz (who will be emphasized in this work). Rachel in one of her books called Tantos Anos – Uma biografia, mentions three books from this collection: Corações Inimigos, Freirinha and Mitsi. Rachel, exactly like other thousand of Brazilian readers, found in these books an escape of this sad reality. Knowing the importance that this collection had for the feminine public during the decades of 30 to 60, this work intends to talk about the well succeed relation between the books of this collection and the readers, and wants to recover the image of the empiric writer Rachel de Queiroz.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Alteridade e morte em "Páramo", de Guimarães Rosa(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-02-03) PEREIRA JÚNIOR, José Antônio Braga; HOLANDA, Sílvio Augusto de Oliveira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0928175455054278This dissertation aims to investigate the relation between the themes of otherness and death in “Páramo”, by João Guimarães Rosa, based on Hall (2006), Bhabha (1998), both about the concept of otherness, and Ariès (2012) and Levinas (2000), both about the concept of death. Published in Estas Estórias (1969), “Páramo” is a singular writing among the works of Guimarães Rosa, because it is the most autobiographic text of the author and is set on a urban space of a foreing city. In this tale, a brazilian ambassador is sent to an andean city where he has to execute a diplomatic service, but after to be shoked by extreme otherness of that place he begins feeling a process of decentering of his identity, that culminates with premonition of his death and a need of renovation of Being. The relevance of this research is that it brings new discussions about the inevitable relation between Me, Other and death in the text of “Páramo”, so that we can reflete about the philosofical and cultural outspread of this relation. This research is divide into three parts: the first part of this study will deal with the concepts of otherness and death acordding the authors related above. In the second part of this study we will launch a reflection about the philosofical and cultural problems based on the intertwined relation between otherness and death on the text of “Páramo”, accomplishing a dialogue with the concepts and categories of Being, Other and the Stranger. In the third and last part of this research, we will realize a dialogue between the conceptions presented in this research and the perspectives presented in most relevant works published about “Páramo”, as studies from Hector Olea Galaviz (1987), Maria Thereza Scher Pereira (2007 e 2009), Bairón Escallón (2011, 2012 e 2013), Luciano Antônio (2013), Gisálio Cerqueira Filho (2013), Betina Cunha (2014), Maria Magnabosco (2003), Edson Oliveira (2010) e Paulo Moreira (2013), aiming to contribute to studies dedicated to this narrative of João Guimarães Rosa.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Alternância de códigos em narrativas orais do povo Parkatêjê: aspectos linguísticos do contato com o português(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-09-28) NEVES, Cinthia de Lima; FERREIRA, Marília de Nazaré de Oliveira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4291543797221091“Irregular mixture of two distinct systems” (Labov, 1971, p. 457). This afirmation reflects what has been thought for decades about a linguistic behavior common in bilingual speakers: code-switching. This phenomenon, characterized by the change from one language to another without any change of topic or speaker, is, however, systematically organized and is subject to grammatical constraints, occurring at specific points and repeated in sentences, it is not random. One of the commonly used theoretical models to account for the grammaticality of code-switching has been proposed by Poplack (1978/1881), which suggests two constraints on the phenomenon: the “free morpheme constraint”, whereby the switch can occur after any constituent unless it is a fixed morpheme, and the “equivalence constraint”, which predicts the occurrence at points where the elements of both languages are equivalent, so there is no violation of syntactic rules of languages involved. This study presents the application of this model to a descriptive analysis of code-switching between Portuguese and Parkatêjê, a Timbira language spoken in southeastern of Pará. The data that support this study are traditional stories of the people, collected between the years 2008 and 2011, in which we can find many instances of the phenomenon.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Análise acústica da relação acento versus entoação no português falado em Mocajuba: contribuições para o Projeto Amper-Norte(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-02-27) COSTA, Maria Sebastiana da Silva; CRUZ, Regina Célia Fernandes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3307472469778577The present dissertation is part of AMPER-NORTE project (Atlas Prosódico Multimédia da Região do Norte do Brasil) and is linked to AMPER-POR project (Atlas Prosódico Multimedia do Português). Its main objective is to contribute to AMPER-NORTE project, featuring the dialectal prosodic variation of the Portuguese spoken in the urban area of Mocajuba (PA). The methodological procedures have been previously established by AMPER project. The corpus has been built with a speech sample of six informants, three males and three females: a woman (BF51) and a man (BF52) of elementary education, a woman (BF53) and a man (BF54) of middle education, a woman (BF55) and a man (BF56) of higher education, variety of Portuguese spoken in Mocajuba. Therefore, the corpus of the city of Mocajuba consists of 102 sentences of the type SVC (subject + verb + complement) with adjectival complement and indicators of place. Each sentence was repeated six times, totaling 612 sentences per informant. The analysis was made from data relative to the six informants. Therefore, 42 sentences were selected, 21 affirmative and 21 total interrogative with noun phrases simple or compound, they were selected to take account of the three accentual guidelines of Portuguese presenting a total of 14 oxytones, 14 paroxytones and 14 proparoxytone. The acoustic analysis of vowels was made in six stages and the results show that acoustic physical parameters of fundamental frequency (F0) and duration (ms) showed significant results for this analysis, confirming such parameters as complementary in the distinction of phrasal modalities in this range under study. The F0 becomes relevant, by moving on clamp format, which preferably occurs in the stressed syllable of the target word, nominal, in the three accentual guidelines and the duration shows that the accentual guidelines (oxytone, paroxytone and proparoxytone) recorded inversely proportional values and it is confirmed as a distinctive parameter. In the intensity, there was not enough satisfactory distinction to confirm it as complementary to F0 and ms in the variety of Portuguese spoken in Mocajuba.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Análise acústica das sílabas tônicas em Apurinã (Aruák)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-08-30) SANTOS, Benedito de Sales; FACUNDES, Sidney da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9502308340482231This paper investigates the acoustic correlates of the prominent syllable, henceforth accent mark in the apurinã language, taking in consideration the hypotheses of Facundes (2000) and Brandão ( 2010). The research investigates possible acoustic correlates of the stress such as F0, intensity and duration of the vowels in stressed syllables with secondary stress and unstressed syllables to verify, from statistical analysis, which one is the most important correlate associated with stress in the language. This paper is divides into three parts: 1) the introduction, where the people, language aspects, the methodology and the theorists used in the analysis are presented; 2) a brief approach about the stress described by Facundes and the application of the metrical stress theory proposed by Hayes (1995) explained; and in 3) is the acoustic analysis in itself and the result of the statistical tests as well as a brief conclusion and list of the words used in the research.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Análise de livros didáticos do povo indígena Mebêngôkre(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-08-30) QUARESMA, Francinete de Jesus Pantoja; FAIRCHILD, Thomas Massao; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1771292039081039; FERREIRA, Marília de Nazaré de Oliveira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4291543797221091Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Análise perceptual da harmonia vocálica na fala Belenense(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-08-29) XAVIER, Francisco Cavalcante; CRUZ, Regina Célia Fernandes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3307472469778577The present work aims to investigate, perceptually, the productivity of vowel harmony (VH) triggered by low vowels in the variety of Portuguese spoken in Belém, PA (Brazil). To this goal, a corpus was formed with 42 paroxytone words, mostly in the CV'CV.CV syllabic mold, in which /e/ and /o/ alternate in the pretonic syllable and /i, e, ɛ, a, ᴐ, o, u/, in the tonic syllable. Using the Wideo Text-to-Speech Software converter, three variants were generated as sound stimuli for each item in the corpus, according to the height of the pretonic vowel: for , [i], [e ], [E]; for , [u], [o], [O]. A sample of 60 Belenenses (people from Belém), stratified by gender, age group and education, responded to a questionnaire implemented on the Gorilla Experiment BuilderTM platform, version 4, with two data collection protocols: I - Frequency Assessment (FA); II - Identification Assessment (IA). For the FA, the main protocol, participants attributed to the variants of , an approximate frequency of occurrence/use in Belenense speech, based on the following scalar indexes: Never, Rarely, Sometimes, Almost always. In the IA, the participants’ assessment was taken to identify the three variants as, in fact, different. For the statistical treatment of the 10,080 data collected, Simple Correlation and Binary Logistic Regression analyzes were applied, using the R Program, version 2024.04.1. Taking , as dependent variables and the seven stressed vowels as independent ones, the results revealed that, in Belém's speech, in general, based on the choice of the full occurrence index, Almost always: (a) the high variants are the least frequent – [i], with a relative frequency of .13 and [u], with .20; (b) the medium variants are largely predominant, adjusting relatively well to all stressed vowels – [e], .77 and [o], .75; (c) the low variants are in second place as most frequent – [E], .43 and [O], .41 –, but, strongly attracted by low stressed vowels, they take the hegemony of the mids in this structural context – [E] , .82; [O], .78. Finally, for the external factors: (a) older speakers highlighted the hegemony of VH – [E], .83; [O], .83; (b) younger speakers attenuated it – [E], .72; [O], .65; c) individuals trained in the research area had higher discrimination rates between the three variants in IA – , .89; , .87. In this view, in the perceptual field, a phonological rule of HV triggered by low vowels was attested in full operation in Belém speech, as acoustic studies had already pointed out (Sousa, 2010; Fagundes, 2015; Souza, 2020). The phenomenon proved to be productive with all low vowels in stressed syllables, both on and , contradicting, at this specific point, the acoustic signal (Souza, 2020).Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Anjos & cronistas: Dybbukim entre a ditadura e o futebol(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-02-24) MUINHOS, Breno Pauxis; CORNELSEN, Elcio Loureiro; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2420574923794; SARMENTO-PANTOJA, Tânia Maria Pereira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3707451019100958This research aims to analyze the perceived antagonism in sports chronicles written by the poet Carlos Drummond de Andrade and the playwright Nelson Rodrigues, published in two anthologies post-mortem Quando é dia de futebol, organized by two of the miner poet grandchildren, and À sombra das chuteiras imortais, a selection made by Ruy Castro. The antagonisms are described in this work by pointing to the opinions of the authors, about the direction of national politics and Brazilian society in the period of the Civil-Military Dictatorship; here perceived in critical view of modern works such as angels, and categorizing them as literary dybbukim: from reflections suggested in História & Modernismo of Monica Velloso and O anjo da história of Walter Benjamin. This shall be held a brief discussion about the chronic gender, some traces of its origin in Brazil, and the relationship between chronic, journalism and literature. In addition to an exposition of studies on chronic sports written by writers like Coelho Neto and Lima Barreto, and discussions dealing with the concept of Modern and Modernism, finally selected some of the chronicles of two authors about soccer and politics, in which to exemplify the proposed categorization.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Antônio Tavernard: vida em versos de um flâneur estático(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-02-02) JANGOUX, Izabela de Almeida Alves; CASTILO, Luís Heleno Montoril del; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3519128535996125AntônioTavernard is a poet whose literary work has not inspired many cientific studies. The little that is known about him is the little part taught: a sad poet and pessimist and romantic poetry. Therefore, Tavernard´s writing brings more elements than we use to think. The real drama the poet lived represents a lot for the ones who aims to understand his texts, but it shall not be the only way to be followed by Tavernard´s readers. The life he lived on the backyard of his house and the social segregation due to an uncurable illness made possible the revelation of new views over a common situation. This research proposes a different path through Tavernard’s poetry work, recognizing its poetic spaces. With Walter Benjamin’s definition of flâneur, this adjective is applied to the poet on a metaphoric way, because even on a physically static form, he wanders through Belém in the beginning of the 20th century using his feelings and readings, showing the city singularly, much like Baudelaire has once done to Paris.By the reading of many editions of the now exctinct ‘A Semana’ magazine, this research also shows the relation the poet’s work had with a contemporary audience made up by many famous writers from the local scene like, for example, Bruno the Menezes.
