Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Avaliação do desempenho portuário do porto de Santana no contexto do projeto arco norte através da análise hierárquica de processo - AHP(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-12-07) SILVA, Álisson Sousa da; TOBIAS, Maisa Sales Gama; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9635266655242384; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-0888-0685Brazil has significant agricultural production, the flow of which represents a logistical and operational challenge due to restrictions and limitations of transport infrastructure. The assessment of port performance is an issue to be observed, in particular, in the North region, with enormous hydrographic potential for navigation and economic importance, and proposals for logistical solutions for the more efficient flow of agricultural production. Special emphasis is placed on agricultural production coming from the Center-West, with grain transport routes leaving this region, partly to the states of Pará and Amapá and, via the Madeira River Waterway, through the State of Amazonas. From this perspective, the Arco Norte project emerged at the beginning of the 2010s, proposing the formation of an intermodal network, taking advantage of existing transport infrastructures and also new investments, based on production estimates for grain exports from the State of Mato Grosso in particular, soy. Among the ports considered, the Port of Santana - AP stands out for its proximity to the sea and soybean destinations, available area for expansion and low current occupancy rate. In view of the above, this work presents research of a documentary and data nature, with the objective of evaluating the criteria that influence the performance of the Port of Santana within the scope of the Arco Norte project, promoting a hierarchical process analysis of its priorities in the composition of the efficient intermodal regional transport network at the port, in light of demand expectations and future expectations. To this end, the methodology was based on a bibliographical review of studies on Arco Norte and, also, on-site visits to port stakeholders, to select the criteria for the Port of Santana. With the criteria in hand, a questionnaire was applied to support the application of the Hierarchical Process Analysis (AHP) method, involving stakeholders linked to the port, for the hierarchization as a response to the evaluation criteria of the Port of Santana and its critical aspects. In the results obtained from this dissertation, there is a prior selection of criteria, based on existing literature and empirically validated with stakeholders. Also, the proposition and use of an instrument (questionnaire) to identify and classify port assessment criteria, using the AHP method. At the end of the dissertation, the order of priority of the criteria and alternatives and the relationship between them were established, as well as a recommendation for the investments necessary to accredit the Port of Santana in the Arco Norte project, highlighting the pressing need to expand the pier to enable the attraction of long-haul vessels. Furthermore, improving land access, together with the opening of new expansion areas, is a priority for improving operations. The administrative integration of institutions in the port system also stood out as a strategic element. In this context, the alternatives highlighted, such as the optimization of port movement, investment in dredging and the introduction of technology, emerged as fundamental responses to meeting defined demands, promoting efficiency, competitiveness and preparation for future challenges.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Otimização e análise de risco da capacidade portuária da bacia amazônica, quanto ao crescimento da demanda de grãos e ao porte dos navios(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2022-06-03) MORAES NETO, Luciano Pinto de; MORAES, Hito Braga de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5044859479302394; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-0214-0587Maritime transport in recent years has brought about a great change in ports around the world due to the advancement of technology which allowed the construction of increasingly larger vessels to reduce freight and transport more cargo. Aware of this reality, this work develops an assessment of port terminals in the Amazon basin, using queuing theory combined with risk analysis and optimization to evaluate port capacity in the face of future grain demands for the region, given that with the advance technology, larger ships are being manufactured and capable of transporting large amounts of cargo, with this advance, the existing ports need to adapt their infrastructure according to the new trends in shipbuilding. In this dissertation, data was collected of movement of cargo and capacity of the existing port terminals in the Amazon region with a focus on long-haul export terminals. A model was developed using the queuing theory to gauge the capacity of terminals and the productivity of ships for use in the @RISK platform, which uses optimization combined with risk analysis, generating distribution and tornado graphs, enabling the analysis of the terminals. help in decision-making on the performance of terminals and ships in an integrated manner. The research allows, through generated simulations, the analysis of various scenarios for the movement of grain from these terminals and the impact that larger ships will bring to the region's port infrastructure. Considering that the estimated movement of terminals in the Amazon basin for 2030 is approximately 60 million tons, where it was observed that the terminals are not prepared to achieve this stipulated target if they do not invest in their development. However, passenger water transportation lacks economic models that assist in the design and implementation of strategies for its viability. In this study, a cost model for passenger water transportation was developed based on activity-based costing principles and linear programming. The aim was to optimize costs and maximize profits, considering demand and service level constraints in a water transportation company in the city of Belém, Brazil. The model was applied to three crossings that operate passenger, cargo, and vehicle trips between Belém and Ilha de Marajó. Various simulations were conducted to explore opportunities and conditions for reducing operational costs. The objective was to find the best cost-profit relationship, with the model parameters including variable costs, profits, and the maximum number of possible trips. Based on the results, alternative cost reduction strategies were established to achieve maximum profit and the highest number of trips. The model proved to be useful through the analysis of viable and effective cost reduction strategies
