Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A produção de pequenos objetos de madeira: um estudo de caso: a empresa "Móveis Souza"(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2006-02) MONTEIRO, Shirley do Socorro Magalhães; ANTONAZ, Diana; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7547028254641362This research was organized around the production of a small wooden object, so as to try to depict its biography, from a point of observation at enterprise Móveis Souza, where it is conceived and made. In achieving the production of this object cooperate the owner and his son, as well as the wife of the former who manages the family business. Object creation, which means art to the owner, as well as the specific work organizatioen constitute unique conditions which are essential to achieve the production of such object. Moreover, the circumstances in which the owner starts using wood residues, and how this decision attaches environmental quality to production, which on its turn is the central elements connected to the invention of a regional production. The introduction of design in the state of Pará mediates the invention of Pará and Amazonian regional products.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Aventura espiritual: terapêutica na irmandade dos alcoólicos anônimos(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2006-03-07) PAES, Anselmo do Amaral; BELTRÃO, Jane Felipe; ttp://lattes.cnpq.br/6647582671406048The purpose of this work is to understand the therapeutic process called “recovery” in Alcoholic Anonymous (AA) at Belém, Pará. This group presents itself as a “brotherhood”, which seeks to welcome those it considers carriers of a disease, of physical and spiritual nature, the alcoholism, offering them support to achieve the so-called “sobriety”. The transition from a life full of misfortunes to a happy and useful one, in their conception, is possible through practicing principles of conduct, considered to be spirituals, which substitute the alcohol addiction for the addiction to the so-called “Higher Power”. Therefore, “recovery” in AA refers to the therapeutic process to which the participants of the Brotherhood are submitted and, in this sense, to a process to be administrated for the whole life through participating in the group. When an AA member affirms “to have recovered” or “to be in recovery”, it wants to communicate not only that it no longer ingests alcoholic beverages, but also that it participates in the Brotherhood, following the precepts as recommended. In this way, it is truly “sober”. This work found that personal “recovering” means more that not ingesting alcoholic beverages, because it entails sharing with the other AA members the institutional views on categories related to reality (health, work, family, sexuality and spirituality), accepting AA as a “way of life”.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Conflitos socioambientais na gestão de Unidades de Conservação: o caso da Reserva Biológica do Lago Piratuba/AP(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010-08) BRITO, Daguinete Maria Chaves; BARP, Ana Rosa Baganha; BARP, Wilson José; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6546508090587542Social conflicts are present in all relations of mankind, and it incited from the modern and contemporary society. Among the social conflicts, those involving the use of nature are the most worrisome, especially because of the shortage that natural resources are currently subjected. The environment is part of diffuse interests, the individuals that the environment would be preserved, however, there are few who embrace these goals as dominant in their socioeconomic activities. This behavior increases the pressures on environmental resources, including the legally protected areas. The environmental conflicts related to the management of these areas are present at all stages of their institution, and occur from the conceptions of the major theoretical and philosophical currents that support the preservation and conservation of nature. In Brazil it is common to establish protected areas to resolve the tensions between natural resource exploitation and sustainability of ecosystems. However, what happens in general is the escalation of conflicts in areas constituted. Amapá stands on the national scene as one of the states which have a high degree of preservation and a significant percentage of protected areas. But the conflict between managers and users of these areas are constant and intense in many cases, causing degradation of natural resources of these spaces. The orthodox alternative to solve the conflict do not appear effective and it is necessary to adopt measures such as negotiations to alleviate or resolve the tensions related to the sustainability of environmental resources. To support the negotiation literature provides methodologies, techniques and tools that facilitate the process of negotiation and decision making to solve the conflicts present in these areas. The use of techniques and tools, although more laborious and requires a long time becomes more effective. For when the actors participate actively in the negotiations and find solutions, commitment and accountability become part of the process management unit, and this performance depend not only the sustainability of natural resources, but stay in your own area.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O corpo da alma: cosmos, casa e corpo espírita kardecista(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-09-27) PAES, Anselmo do Amaral; MAUÉS, Raymundo Heraldo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0915136632611666The object of this study is to understand and highlight the role of the body in religious field by investing in an analysis of brazilian kardecist spiritual embodiment, which is constructed by social representations and imaginary. The analytical effort and the distribution of the chapters are based on the schema macro/microscopic – “Cosmos-house-body”. The first part deals with the construction of kardecism by its encoder, the French intellectual Hippolyte Rivail, known as Alan Kardec (Paris, 1804-1869), and its pretensions to unify “science, philosophy and religion”, producing a Cosmos. The second part presents the Spiritist Centre as a sacred space of its ritual universe. The third and last part is focused on the “body”, as semantic referential, which appears too as heuristic tool for analysis. Analyzing the conceptions and imaginary over the body in Kardecism, this work proposes that relations between the spiritual world, the Spiritist Centre and the body are crucial for understanding the spiritist person.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) De caco a espetáculo: a produção cerâmica de Cachoeira do Arari (ilha do Marajó, PA)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2007-09-25) LINHARES, Anna Maria Alves; BELTRÃO, Jane Felipe; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6647582671406048Artisans from Cachoeira do Arari, located in Marajó fields, in the State of Pará, they reproduce copied ceramic pieces of archeological objects found in stiff of the place. Nowadays, the objects are exposed in the Museum of Marajó, located in Cachoeira. The museum was created by Giovanni Gallo, Italian priest that arrived in the area in the 70's. The objective of this work is to analyze the several appropriation forms and reverse-significance of that archeological patrimony, the artistic and/or expository, the scientific and marketing, in other words, their several metamorphoses. It is worth to stress that the spectaclelization of that patrimony felt starting from the moment that of mere bits of Indians that lived in the area, called marajoaras, and that they cared the residents when found them in their houses yards, according to narratives orals, they turned tourist spectacles, commercial and cultural identification.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Entre o trabalho na roça e a venda na beira: um estudo da dinâmica no modo de vida das famílias de Caraparu-Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2007) NOBRE, Mariléia da Silveira; FURTADO, Lourdes Gonçalves; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1828475659148260This dissertation intends to do a reflection over the dynamic of the way traditional agriculture families from Caraparu live. This village belongs to Santa Izabel do Pará city. The main purpose is to understand how that dynamic promote a commerce parallels to a traditional economy constituted through a family basis, that is familiar agriculture which those families call work in arable land . That way, to accomplish an ethnographic study of both economic activities coexistent in that area, is essential to apprehend the causal effects of such change in local living. I must explicit that is not my intention to understand those effects through isolated events such as the mythic beliefs and the Caraparu Taper. My goal is to observe and analyze those families way of living in order to understand how the social dynamic can make them reorganize and create new economic arrangements with the introduction of a new activity as a commerce generated with a tourism in that region. This commerce is called border selling by the natives of Caraparu. That way, is important to understand that process as a causal factor which comes to the center of any social group with a local dynamic.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Entre o "Zaca” e o "Madre”: ofensas raciais, processos identitários e discursos de mestiçagem em duas escolas de Belém(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011) RIBEIRO, Alan Augusto Moraes; CAMPELO, Marilu Marcia; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8338592541775616This dissertation is an ethnography of everyday school life, conceptually driven from the markers of differentiation color/race, gender, social class and sexual orientation. The motivation of the research which started production of this thesis was the following question: offensive verbal processes are identity processes that are built from referrals and educational discourses teachers in each school? Based on a research trajectory that began in 2006, initially performed in school Alexander Zacharias de Assumpção College and later extended to Madre Zarife Sales in the neighborhood of Guamá, outskirts of Belém do Pará, I try to discuss the scope of these educational institutions in the daily living out of them by their students, to identify practical dynamics of the urban life of the city from the walking to and from school. Both schools are defined as reference schools in the district as symbolized, to clients of the students they met, the possibility of post-school career success among many families in the neighborhood. Moreover, I show the internal contradictions in the two schools, to suggest the occurrence of differential access to educational services and cultural capital to own teaching as the turn is studied. Discuss clearly the occurrence of exchanges of verbal insults and non-racial race among students as markers of differentiation indicated, to try to answer the questioning of the research. Then try to identify the various modalities symbolic of discourse of mestizaje as a comprehensive discourse that is designed by me as the reverse side of the racial and verbal offenses of non-recognition of racism in them by existing institutional body, this is, by faculty, staff and managers.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Folia de São Benedito: um estudo de mudança em uma manifestação religiosa na comunidade do Silêncio do Matá(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2008-10) VIEIRA, Daniel Hudson Carvalho; FURTADO, Lourdes Gonçalves; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1828475659148260This study deals with structural changes associated with religious manifestations, in particular one known as the Folia de São Benedito, held in Silêncio do Matá, a community of Obidos, in Pará. It is shown here that Folia de São Benedito exhibits classic properties of popular Catholicism. However, based on actual observations, it is argued that the changes observed in this particular Folia is not only driven by exogenous factors, but also orquestrated by community members, yielding a connotative application of its original meaning.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Infidelidades: representações femininas e masculinas(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2006-03-08) ABREU, Rachel de Oliveira; BELTRÃO, Jane Felipe; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6647582671406048Love wakens pleasant memories, feelings and emotions that are associated with romantic stories, which hardily mention the conflicts that are spread through love relationships. Love is daily lived and told not only from the beautiful but especially from the conflicts that produce disharmony. Love experienced in conjugality is ruled by monogamy, which is fostered by the desired ideal of fidelity as an option. However, many people establish sexual and affective relationships out of the conjugal bond, awakened by sexual and affective dissatisfaction, lack of tenderness, love and care, or perhaps desire, pleasure, passion, vengeance or competition, considered to be socially undesirable behaviors. This work tried to unveil how relationships of infidelity are daily lived by eight women and five men in Belém, Pará, which have agreed to share their stories and secrets about the subject with the researcher. As there was a circularity of ideas in the narratives, the informants allowed finding many visions of and innumerous justifications to the practice of affective or sexual infidelity, as well as different nuances that inform the feminine and masculine representations about infidelity. This gave the opportunity to read the limits that structure conjugal relationships, because infidelity – thought as a disarrangement element – is in general juggled and serves as a strategy for the love game, assuring sometimes, when it is undiscovered, the maintenance of the couples bonds.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A inserção das pessoas com deficiência visual no mercado de trabalho: um estudo em empresas da Região Metropolitana de Belém no período de 2000 a 2006(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2008) MORAES, Liliane Vieira; PALHANO, Eleanor Gomes da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2097579030181428This work investigates the insertion of people with visual deficiency in the labor market focusing on private companies in the Metropolitan area of Belém, from 2000 to 2006. Labor market is considered in this study as a complex system which results from the predominant rules of the relationship between capital and work. However, at the same time, there are insertion mechanisms based on criteria which are not always explicit and that can lead to discriminatory outcomes. The research was mainly based on data collected from private companies of the Metropolitan Region of Belém. This research shows that, throughout that period, the insertion of people with visual deficiency in the labor market in Belém was short, and that there was a significant disparity between the insertion of people with low vision and blind ones, the latter being almost non-existent in private companies within the Metropolitan Region of Belém.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Justiça marginal: sociabilidades complexas subjacentes às práticas de linchamento(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010-08-30) PAVÃO, Bruna H. S. Menezes; BARP, Wilson José; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6546508090587542The communication to follow results of the bibliographical research and field concerning the practical ones of lynching in Belém of Pará, in this aspect the first initiative was leaned over on the historiography of the act, that would supply support posterior problematization of the same while question of eminently social matrix. In this direction, after all the source of information harvested in such a way of books as of popular periodicals, we enter in the mined field of the lynchings, ideamos launching in them without mooring cables in the world of the people, places of where happen the modalities staggering of the wild use of the rude force, the social actors in this universe elaborate its proper forms of confrontation of the crime and at the same time of maintenance of communitarian social bows and for in such a way they launch hand in such a way of legal artifices as well for the illegality. The visualization of one form of sociability gestated for the fear and the violence the one that had been always submitted corroborates so that the answers violent crime is equally using itself of the rude force, the sociação between the innumerable known individuals or not, victims or same viewers of some form of crime are capable to stimulate the arbitrary decision to cut with a scythe the life of a criminal eventual contumacious person or, the ressignifica lynching if while modality of collective revenge is thus a form averse of popular application of justice, where visualize the violence as last resource the popular reach that it supplies to immediate reply a perpetrated trespass, the degree of belonging of the actors social authors of these crimes, some involved social representations, the absence of accountability of its participants, the belief of that had reacted to a cruel event. Thus, our sociological intuition directed in them for the understanding of the same having as starting point the places of where the same ones emanate and the social actors who supply to the lynchings conditions of existence and maintenance in the present time.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Lamento e dor: uma análise sócio-antropológica do deslocamento compulsório provocado pela construção de barragens(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2007) SANTOS, Sônia Maria Simões Barbosa Magalhães; HÉBETTE, Jean; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2510506955292935; TEISSERENC, Pierre; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9957120409952563The central idea developed in this work is that the studies carried through on the compulsory displacement provoked by the construction of dams, although mentioning the social dimension of the social suffering, do not submit that dimension to analysis. And, therefore, go round or displace the subjective sense expressed in the sorrow and pain, which is constituent to this social process. Taking as principle that the analyzed facts are socially shared and constructed, therefore carrying senses more or less lasting or more or less perceptible anyhow, publicized - that, at times, interact under the form of conflict, it is my goal to perform an analysis of the way these senses conform to three distinct and linked social situations. On the first one, the public arena, I analyze the controversy about the main classification categories for the compulsory displacement process, its contexts and main agents, trying to evidence the rhetorical construction fundamentals, in a dispute to make prevail a determined politic and social evaluation of this process. In this analysis, I emphasize the content that stabilizes itself and the intervention of one agent -the World Bank- and its role in the conformation of an expertise on the subject. In the second social situation, the academic universe, I analyze the current state of studies on the compulsory displacement, locating the main theoretical axes, in order to highlight the relation between the disciplinary and interpretative fields, mostly the hegemony of disciplinary subjects, amongst which the analysis of the suffering is not included. On the other hand, I outline that, thanks to the rigor of these analyses (many of ethnographic background), it is possible to find reference to the social suffering lived by the groups submitted to the compulsory relocating process, allowing me to fundament the hypothesis resulting of my own investigation. In the third, I analyze the process of compulsory displacement, from a research carried in Tucuruí, Pará state, Brazil, presenting the senses of social suffering evocated by those who lived it, pointing out: a) the absence of parameters to evaluate the consequences of the process lived, not only because it is an unusual situation as because the undertaking itself unchains other local and regional transformations that are not given a priori; b) the incessant search of a way to replace a situation lost or desired, that can be seen in public forums (assemblies, meetings, encounters), considered here as "sorrow forums", because they are, concomitantly, a place of public claim and spaces of encounter with their own history and, consequently, spaces for reminding and stating losses; c) the irreversible character, that lines the construction of social suffering. Finally, I try to show the constraints, above all economical, that are verified in the passing from the suffering dimension to the public arena.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Modernidade reflexiva: Giddens, Beck e as limitações da segunda modernidade(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2009) COSTA, Jonas Fernandes; BRITO, Daniel Chaves de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4547584911539063This objective works to display the theory of reflexive modernity produced a more precise by Ulrich Beck and Anthony Giddens, trying to understand the contours of this proposal and its possible limits. For that, we contextualize the discussion within a broader perspective to achieve our goals.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Mudanças sociais e energia elétrica na Vila de São Sebastião, interior do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2009) MARINHO, José de Ribamar Miranda; AQUINO, Maria José da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1799861202638255This thesis conducted a study on the social changes occurring in the village of San Sebastian, in the District of Guajará-Açú belonging to the municipality of Bujaru, State of Pará. The thread tried to associate the arrival of electricity as part of modernity that leads to changes in the traditional way of life. Is not intended to do a study with unfounded generalizations about the relative power / social change, as the central focus tried to establish a sociological analysis which promote plausible explanation of this process. The objective is to review the literature dealing with the concept of social change, to be verified approaches that address the issue. In addition, sought to portray the city of Bujaru within the context of the "Light for All", the federal government, and verify through field research, the perceptions of residents (the) of St. Sebastian on the arrival of electricity, its uses, the relationship established, changes in daily life, worries, joys and points to be worked. The results enabled the research both in the theoretical approach, in conjunction with empirical data were satisfactory and important. The power has been taken in general as something that was important to change people's lives, but you need an evaluation of policy and how it was implemented on site, namely the increase energy arrives, but this is not enough so that the dimensions of health, education, incomegeneration activities and employment, gain practical dimensions.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Mulheres migrantes na Transamazônica: construção da ocupação e do fazer política(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2008-08-23) SILVA, Maria Ivonete Coutinho da; ANTONAZ, Diana; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7547028254641362Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Na friadagem do mangal: organizar e tirar caranguejos nos fins de semana em Bragança (Vila do Acarajó)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2007) REIS, Maria Regina Ribeiro; AQUINO, Maria José da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1799861202638255; FURTADO, Lourdes Gonçalves; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1828475659148260The work here presented discusses the crab extractors organization at Vila do Acarajó in weekends, the place is located in Bragança/PA, in Northeast of the State. The source is from the cold grubs. The crab extractors are organized in groups by a local merchant, that in partnership with the merchants from the town, facilitate the crab extractors’ journey in trucks, as a way to extract as many crustaceans as possible, indicating an intensive capture with negatives consequences from the biological point of view of the specie and social of the human groups that live around there and are dependents of the ecosystem. This research was guided by the hypothesis that the lack of material conditions to develop the fishing and agriculture, due to the scarceness of land, forcefully led the extractors to the mangroves, to allocate their work force. The investigation results show a rapid change in the context of capture and sale of the crabs, which are considered an easy and fast product to sell. Was verified that the mangrove rush is done by the Vila’s residents, even those who have terrains that indiscriminately extract crabs that didn’t reach the adult stage. These small crabs are sold without a rule about their size and the quantity by the traders. The whole is sold.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Palavras sagradas, rimas e experiências: uma tentativa de compreensão sobre cristianismo pentecostal, rap e Antropologia(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2008) BORDA, Bruno Guilherme dos Santos; MAUÉS, Raymundo Heraldo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0915136632611666Based in research developed on the subject of rap gospel in the city of Belém, Sate of Pará, Brazil, I could obtain empirical data which gave me information to reflect upon general questions of anthropology. In that way, I organized the dissertation in the perspective of a compilation of essays, which deal with the question of as the use of the subjectivity is possible in the construction of the ethnographic text. This subjectivity, in the field work between researcher, intermediate, interlocutors e informers. For the exposition of the analysis in it, I used the analogy with the composition, production and recording of a CD. In fact, it is as if each essay contained here constitutes a band of a CD entitled sacred Words, rhymes and experiences: A thematic of the understanding on Pentecostal Christianism, rap and anthropology, by the MC and anthropologist Bruno “B.O.” Borda, with a bonus track, also. The Christian Rap provided reflections to me on religion, youth and racial relations, on one hand, and epistemology, methodology and art, on the other, making that I presented this work with a purpose much more of incitation to the questioning and the doubt. All this in a kind of philosophical style, keeping the rhyme and the poetry, to at least propitiate a mixing reading, in order to reach partners anthropologists and allied hip hoppers.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Um passado persistente: o sistema de aviamento na extração madeireira da Ilha do Mututi, Município de Breves/PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010-03-23) CARNEIRO, André Luiz Torquato; SCHMITZ, Heribert; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2294519993210835; SÁ, Samuel Maria de Amorim e; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3256903697536068Through empirical research using as key concept of organization and system Aviamento, added to other ones that have permeated the analysis in this study (domination, power, reciprocity, games), this dissertation examines the substitution of a previous context for extraction of rubber by that of processing lumber in the area of a former plantation located on the island of Mututi, municipality of Breves/PA. In order to examine the meaning of the results found in the island. Analysis was extended to other towns which had historical similarities in their social and economic formations. In this sense, we attempted to assess trade relations between employers and customers, replacements, or continuities transformations within, the previous modal as well. As the factors that contributed to the emergence and maintenance of such events and the its social and economic consequences resulting from new or redesigned model of organization in the lives of its members.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O potencial interpretativo dos artefatos cerâmicos: a tradição Tupiguarani na Amazônia(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2009) SOUSA, Eliane da Silva; SCHAAN, Denise Pahl; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9087840228167206This dissertation discusses the archaeological interpretation of material culture remains related to Tupi-guarani linguistic family; such vestiges were classified as belonging to an archaeological tradition named Tupiguarani. A criticism of the normative approach of culture that supported such interpretations (and conceived the tupi-guarani as resilient to change) departs from a review of the ethnohistorical and ethnographic sources that supported them. Since the ethnohistorical and ethnographic accounts were employed to justify a historical continuity between the archaeological and historical Tupi-Guarani – considering settlement patters, spatial mobility, correspondence between language, material culture, and ethnic identity – the use of such sources are analyzed and the achieved results are discussed. From the examination of archaeological studies in Amazonia, the supposed homogeneity and immutability of Tupi culture in time and space is challenged.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Sapurahái de Karuára: mitos, instrumentos musicais e canto entre os Suruí Aikewára(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2007-09-24) SILVA, Gilmar Matta da; MASTOP-LIMA, Luiza de Nazaré; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1067737666679586; BELTRÃO, Jane Felipe; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6647582671406048The traditional knowledge are connected through processes of learning based on the interaction between the human groups and the environment, involving experimentation, speculation and experience of its members that systemize a set of practical conceptions and in relation of intergenerational.
