Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Análise da influência dos solutos Zr e Ti sobre as propriedades mecânica, elétrica e de termorresistência de uma liga Al-Cu-Fe-Si destinada a Tx e a Dx de energia elétrica(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-01-10) MACHADO, Paulo Cordeiro; QUARESMA, José Maria do Vale; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7443111804471290The global energy context presents a steady increase in electricity consumption in the last century, thus requiring the search for new materials for use in wire and cable conductors of electricity. From these demands for new materials, was developed an analysis of the influence of solute titanium and zirconium in the modification of important characteristics of the Al-Cu-Fe-Si alloy, destined to be the middle conductor of electricity, aiming to get properties resistant to heat. For this study, the alloys were obtained by direct casting in Ushaped metal ingots, from the Al-EC, standing at the base levels of 0.05 wt% Cu, [0.24 to 0.28] wt% Fe and 0.7 wt% Si, and then inserting the contents of 0.26 wt% Zr and 0.26 wt% Ti. The experiments were, divided in two steps, STEP A and STEP B , respectively. In order to characterize mechanical, electrical and structure of alloys. The specimens after cold rolling (in diameters of 2.7, 3.0, 3.8 and 4.0 mm) were analyzed without heat treatment (STT) and with heat treatment (CTT): 230 °C for one hour, according to the protocol COPEL (Companhia Paranaense de Energia Elétrica), 310 °C and 390 °C for one hour, to evaluate the heat resistance at higher temperatures, thermal stability and analyze the microstructures developed in these heat treatments (TT). It was found that Ti has more capacity to refine the grain compared to Zr, which has less refined grains, but with better physical properties are presented and heat resistant.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Análise experimental das emissões de uma microturbina a gás utilizando biodiesel(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011) FERREIRA, Ricardo Wallace Machado; NOGUEIRA, Manoel Fernandes Martins; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2324813094737469; GUERRA, Danielle Regina da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6750321690921056This work presents an experimental study with the use of biodiesel, diesel, natural gas and mixtures operating in a gas microturbine as fuel. The main objective of the study is to understand the emissions produced by the fuels. The experimental apparatus was constructed entirely for the purpose of performing tests with natural gas and changes in the supply line were made for the supply of liquid fuel, no changes were made in the combustion chamber. The experiments were performed for rotations of 45.000rpm, 50.000rpm, 55.000rpm and 60.000rpm. By the experimental difficulties encountered in understanding the combustion process and its emissions, a complementary procedure for the emissions estimation is presented, resolving and estimating the composition of emissions through ComGas V1.0 software which calculates combustion in the equilibrium. As a contribution, we present experimental data for CO, CO2, O2, gas exhaust temperature, mass flow rates, molar flow rates, and energy characterizing of fuels and mixtures.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Aspectos metalúrgicos de revestimentos em dutos depositados com a superliga de níquel ERNiCrMo-4 pelos processos MIG convencional e MIG com adição de arame frio(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-08-02) SANTOS, Marcio Wagner Batista dos; MOTA, Carlos Alberto Mendes da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2041034504642740This work is a metallurgical analysis of the inner lining layer of pipeline used in welding process MIG C and MIG AF. The petrochemical industry, and others that use pipelines for transportation of their raw materials, faces a major challenge: how to increase the useful life of these products in a harsh environment work? In the specific case of the petrochemical industry, whom this research is directed, the pipes serve as means of transportation for oil and gas, products that are extremely aggressive to the internal walls of these tubes that are degraded by corrosion, caused mainly, by chemical composition, pressure and temperature these products. In this context the welding of lining made with nickel-based alloys becomes an excellent option for the construction, repair and maintenance of equipment whose application be returned in harsh environments of work, allowing the improvement of characteristics required, such as the resistance to corrosion. It is this scenario that emerges the theme for this research, based on studies that indicate that the process of welding MIG / MAG with the addition of cold wire, has to evaluate the metallurgical characteristics of the pipeline coating deposited by the derivative process MIG conventional – MIG-C and MIG with the addition of cold wire - MIG AF - using Nickel alloy ERNiCrMo-4 in carbon steel pipelines. The welds were deposited in pipes of 228.6 mm of diameter, forming a layer of internal lining of four passes, divided into three segments of the circumference of the duct, in three different welding energy: 1.1, 0.9 and 0.7 kJ / mm. These segments are removed specimens of the ducts, for the production of the samples. After metallography, performed on the samples, followed with the analysis and characterization by optical microscope, scanning electron microscope and testing of microhardness. The coatings exhibited excellent surface quality for all operational packages used in obtaining the welds. The results of the analysis of the regions studied: metal base, partially mixed zone and heat affected zone, were compatible with the literature studied for both the MIG with the addition of cold wire, as for the conventional. In HAZ were observed values of Tungsten around 1.0%, the increased levels of hardness was credited to this fact. The microhardness results indicated that in both cases, MIG C and MIG AF, in 4 regions analyzed occurred similarly, and the HAZ region which showed the highest values in the range 400-500 HV, while in the other regions range was between 250-350 HV. The results indicate that the process with cold wire, MIG AF, was as efficient as the conventional MIG C. The welding power increased the dilution of Fe in the weld metal. Precipitates rich in Mo and Cr were found in the weld metal.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Caracterização da liga 6101 refinada com a adição de diferentes teores de cobre e solidificadas em molde unidirecional horizontal e em molde "U"(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2007) FEITOSA, Johnyson Pereira; QUARESMA, José Maria do Vale; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7443111804471290The 6101 alloy (series 6xxx) was modified with addition of 0.05% and 0.3% of copper and with additions of grain refiners as Al-Ti-B. The alloys were thermally characterized (heat transfer coefficient of metal / mold, displacement speed of liquidus isothermal and cooling rate), mechanically (tensile strength and toughness module) and electrically (electric resistivity, specific resistance and power conductivity) using two forms of pouring out: one is horizontal directional solidification and the other into the "U" mold. By horizontal directional solidification was possible characterize the macrostructure, influenced by refiners of grain and by viscosity that copper provides in the metal / mold efficiency of alloys researched, modifying the thermal, mechanical and electrical properties. The solidification in "U" mold makes possible evaluates the mechanical and electrical properties, seeing the forming process variables of alloys, as forming rate, tensile strength, toughness and electric resistivity, power conductivity and electric resistance, using the specimens obtained in several diameters. For the “U” mold were casting more two alloys to evaluation, Al-0,6Mg-0,4Si-0,1Cu and Al-0,6Mg-0,4Si-0,2Cu. The mechanical and electrical properties had been influenced by cold working, copper content and shrinkage void presents into alloys structures.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Confecção de discos de desbaste a partir de AI2O3 e pó de vidro(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2009) OLIVEIRA, Rosane Felice de; DIAS, Carmen Gilda Barroso Tavares; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2113791118142177This article describes the development of abrasive and cutting disks made of alumina and waste glass powder to apply in cutting tools. These disk mills are used to micromize rigid post-consumed thermoplastics and let its use in a lot of recycling process, as rotomolding. This cutting disk uses glass powder as a fluxing agent and poly(ethylene terephthalate) post-consumed to give a plastic behavior to the powder, making it easier to fill in the mold. The amounts of glass powder were analyzed from previous studies with different minerals, as diopside and feldspar, since the studies with waste glass powder substituting natural minerals are recent. The development of the disks occurs in two steps. The first one is the homogeneization of the compounds with the calculated amounts. Afterwards it's pressed and taken to the mufla to get the percolation of the resin and its complete degradation up to a temperature of 900oC, pre-sintering and soften the silicates. After getting these green composites, it happens the second and final step, when the disks are sintered to decrease the porosity and improve its strength, followed by a superficial finish and cutting tests.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Construção de um modelo de dispersão de poluentes na Baía do Guajará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2005-12-19) BATISTA, Adriano Gomes; SENA, Manoel José dos Santos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2349287816857909; MESQUITA, André Luiz Amarante; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1331279630816662The sea and coastal environment of Brazil have suffered a process of considerable environmental degradation in the last years. This degradation was caused by the growing environmental pressure on the sea and the continental natural resources that have overwhelmed the limited capacity of the ecosystems to absorb the impacts. In the specific case of the Bay of Guajará, located in the Estuaries Guajará, in the area delimited by the Bay of Marajó and for the rivers Pará and Guamá, these risks are associated mainly to the pollution originating from of the city of Belém and the petroleum derived pollution caused by transport operations. In the case of the Bay of Guajará, it is known that there are sewer spillings periodically caused by the tide. Because this pollution is caused by the tide, there is little that can be done to correct or soften the effects of this problem. The numeric models consider the complexity of the physical phenomena that govern the operation of the coastal environment, and have been used as tools in hydrodynamic simulation with recognized importance in coastal administration. This application can support several studies: the understanding of the dispersing processes of pollutants; the implantation of systems of monitoring of water quality; the plan of action in cases of a oil spillage; and the effects of alterations in the geometry of channels and bays and estuaries. The objective of this work is to explain these subjects and to describe the necessary stages for the construction of a numeric model of dispersion in the Bay of Guajará using the tools of the Systems of Geographical Information and the Method of Finite Elements.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Efeito de adições de Ni e Mg sobre o comportamento térmico, mecânico e elétrico de ligas Al-Cu-Fe solidificadas unidirecionalmente(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013) SOUZA, Pedro Henrique Lamarão; QUARESMA, José Maria do Vale; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7443111804471290This work studied the influence of Mg and Ni solute content on the modification of the thermal, electrical and mechanical properties of an Al-Cu-Fe alloy for application as an electrical conductor. To realize the present study, the alloys were obtained by unidirectional horizontal casting, starting from the commercial pure aluminum with the addition of 0.05wt% Cu and [0.24 to 0.28]wt% Fe content. This basis was modified on a first stage with 0.45, 0.60 and 0.80wt% of Mg content. The alloys obtained with these contents had its properties studied for the selection of a Mg content for further Ni addition at the alloy. The study of these properties on the first stage passed through the analysis of the thermal properties: growth rate (VL) and cooling rate (Ṫ). The electrical characterization studied the electrical conductivity property (φ) and the following mechanical properties were determined: ultimate tensile strength (σ) and Vickers microhardness (HV). The alloy which has Ni additions passed through ageing heat treatments of 1, 4 and 8 hours. These samples were analyzed in a scanning electron microscope – SEM by the electrons backscattered – EBS and energy dispersive spectroscopy – EDS signals. As a result of the research, it was found that Mg additions had significantly influenced the alloys viscosity, increasing its growth rates at the final moments of the solidification. The microhardness tests for the aged samples showed that they suffered a significant gain of hardness at the fourth hour of ageing, also, the EDS analysis showed that Ni content increased at the same treating conditions.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Efeito de teores de Zr sobre as propriedades mecânicas e elétricas de ligas Al-Ec-Si aplicadas na elaboração de ligas para Tx e Dx de energia elétrica(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010) SANTOS, Washington Luis Reis; QUARESMA, José Maria do Vale; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7443111804471290This paper aims to develop an analysis of the influence of Zr in the modification of important characteristics of Al-EC-Si alloys used in electrical conductors, aiming to obtain heat resistant properties. For this study, the alloys were obtained by direct casting in a U-shaped ingot mold, from the Al-EC, with a base Si content of 0,7%, and then varying with different amounts of Zr. Intending o precipitate second phase particles called dispersoid, whose main characteristic is the retention of the deformed microstructure when exposed to high temperatures, it was necessary to submit the alloys to a heat treatment of 310 ºC for 24 hours in order to cause the appearance of fine dispersoids of Al3Zr. Two steps were established to obtain the results: The Step I was composed of solidification, machining and deformation obtained with the alloys, generating the wires used in all tests. The Step II repeats the same processes adopted in the Step I, however a heat treatment of 310 ºC for 24 hours was made before deformation. The heat resistance characterization of the specimens of each alloy followed the requirements of COPEL (Companhia Paranaense de Energia Elétrica ) when submitted to temperatures of 230 ºC for 24 hours, and heat treatments at temperatures of 310 ºC and 390 ºC were also made to evaluate the thermal stability of the alloys. In general, it was observed that crescent contents of Zr results in a grain refinement and a increase of the Ultimate Tensile Strength and thermal stability of the alloy, both in the Step I and Step II. It was also observed that in Step I, the electrical conductivity was severely affected by the Zr contents and the addition of heat treatment in Step II increased the electrical conductivity of the alloy, particularly to diameters that suffered higher deformation.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Implementação e análise do desempenho de técnicas de monitoramento através de medição de vibração e correlação com corrente estatórica(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010-06-16) JESUS, Keliene Maria Sousa de; SOEIRO, Newton Sure; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7303174583088137The growing demand for electricity coupled with the great importance of this sector to the national economic system has led the government and private companies to invest in studies for improving the performance of the systems involved in this process, given the important gains that this initiative can produce. In this context, this work is a contribution to the study of the development of a methodology for diagnosis of defects to the machine number three hydro Hydropower Plant Coaracy Nunes, located in Amapa State. In many situations the methods of vibration analysis is used to detect the presence of faults in this type of machine, this work will also be used to analyze the current signals to provide similar indications. This work aims to present a methodology for fault diagnosis in electrical machines using the vibration signals and correlation with the analysis of the stator current. Throughout this work presents a review of techniques for monitoring and diagnosis of the condition of electrical machinery, through vibration tests correlated with the characteristics of the stator current. The result of the correlation of vibration measurement with the current measurement is based on a methodology implemented by a system of acquisition and data processing platform developed in LabView. The experimental results were obtained from mechanical defects (unbalance and mechanical defects on the slopes, and internal bearings) induced in an experimental device designed with the intention to represent a generation system. Finally, the vibration and current signals were analyzed and compared to verify that the defects that were detected by the conventional vibration altered the behavior of current signals. The good results of this study demonstrate the feasibility of future studies in this area.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Interação CFD-DEM em fluidização: aplicação para o setor mineral(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013) CASTELO BRANCO JÚNIOR, Alan Mota; VAZ, Jerson Rogério Pinheiro; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1623983294183975; MESQUITA, André Luiz Amarante; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1331279630816662The particle fluidization process is widely used in the industry, mainly due to the high heat and mass transfer rates between the phases. The coupling between the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and the Discrete Element Method (DEM) has become attractive for the simulation of fluidization, because in this case the particles movement is analyzed in a more direct way than in other types of approaches. The main problem with the CFD-DEM coupling is the high demand for computational capacity in order to track the movement of all the particles in the system, what it leads to the use of some strategies to reduce the simulation time which in case of incorrect usage can prejudice the results. The present work deals with the application of the CFD-DEM coupling in the analysis of alumina fluidization, which is an important problem for the mineral sector. It were analyzed several parameters capable of influencing the results and the simulation time like the time steps, the drag models, the particle size distribution, the spring constant, the usage of representative particles bigger than the actual particles, etc. The DEM model used was the Linear Spring Dashpot model (LSD). All the simulations were carried out with the software ANSYS FLUENT 14.5 and the results obtained were compared with experimental data and the data available in the literature. These results allowed to verify the capability of the Linear Spring Dashpot Model for predicting the global behavior of alumina beds and reducing the simulation time, since the model parameters are defined adequately.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Projeto e construção de câmaras reverberantes em escala reduzida para o estudo das características de perda de transmissão de divisórias confeccionadas a partir de materiais regionais(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2006-09-05) TOUTONGE, José de Aviz; SOEIRO, Newton Sure; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7303174583088137To project and build reverberant chambers, in scaled model, for the determination of materials transmission loss used for noise control purposes was the objective of this research. Besides, the research seeks to establish a methodology of analysis and interpretation of the acoustic parameters starting from the theory of scaled models, in such way that one can infer the transmission loss of the studied materials. The necessity of this construction occurs due to the non availability of real scale reverberant chambers (only available in some regions of Brazil), making it difficult and raising the costs of material performance tests in other Brazilian regions. Therefore, reverberant chambers were constructed in a reduced scale of 1:6, in order to allow the transmission loss study of party walls, developed with regional materials, confronting their performances and, simultaneously, their use in academic activities. Despite the fact of the chambers have been constructed in reduced scale, the scale factor (1:6) was not considered, meaning that measurements had been carried through in the real octave bands between 125 Hz and 8 kHz. Party walls had been assayed for the determination of the acoustic parameters, based on ISO 140 and 354. Finally, from experimental results, it was possible to prove the efficiency of materials used in the construction of partitions, which could be used for noise isolation purposes in buildings and industrial enclosures. Apart from the experimental assays, analytical calculations had been fulfilled according to the formulation of Analysis Energy Statistics (SEA) in order to provide evidence and validation of the results.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Projeto e construção de uma câmara reverberante em escala reduzida para a caracterização acústica de materiais absorventes(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2007-05-31) GUEDES, Reginaldo Cascaes; SOEIRO, Newton Sure; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7303174583088137In the area of Acoustics, concerning the last decades, a significant growth has been observed in the demand for data regarding not only the absorbing characteristics of acoustical materials, but also the usage of numerical methods which are able to represent the acoustical behavior of real systems. These real systems demand a significant infrastructure, which means a great deal of investments. Thus, in order to attend such demands for new data, to allow the development of research regarding the sound absorbing characteristics of regional materials and to develop practical classes on acoustics, both for graduate and post-graduate students, this work presents all the information regarding the project and construction of a scaled reverberant chamber (1:6 of a 200 m3 real chamber). Besides, a methodology is presented regarding the qualification and adequacy of the internal acoustic field, based on the guidance of ISO-354. On the other hand, experimental results for the miniaturized chamber are presented and discussed, which characterize and validate the usage of the coconut fiber panels, developed by the Acoustics and Vibration Group of the Federal University of Pará. Finally, numerical results, based on Ray Tracing Methods, are presented and compared to those measured for the scaled chamber, seeking the validation of the developed numerical model.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Simulação numérica da gaseificação de biomassa em leito fixo(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011) ITAI, Yuu; MALICO, Isabel; BRASIL, Augusto César de Mendonça; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0571960641751286The objective of this study was to evaluate the potential of açaí seeds rejected after processing in Belém - Pará, in order to be used as a source of biomass for energy production by gasification. Elemental analysis results obtained in LABCAT - UNB on a dry basis were obtained with percentages of Carbon, 46.06% Hydrogen, 6.01%, Oxygen, 43.37% , Nitrogen 4.33%and Sulfur 0.08%. These values and other parameters obtained in an experimental study carried out by the studies of Santos (2011) and Cruz (2010), were used to perform a numerical simulation of the gasification process by means of a zero dimensional FORTRAN code developed specifically for this purpose. Variations of the influence of equivalence ratio and moisture content in the concentrations of CO, H2 and CH4 were compared with experimental results. A transient one-dimensional model developed by Hla (2004) was also analyzed. Using the application of a mechanism of two steps pyrolysis where the primary tar (or oxygenated) are initially formed and then cracked into secondary tar (or oil) and other combustible gases. Thus is revealed the complexity of physical and chemical processes that occur in the reactor by the use of energy and mass balance information and rates of chemical reaction of the recommendations and the physical transport processes. The computer model can predict the profile of the gas composition, temperature, primary and secondary tar along the longitudinal axis of the gasifier. Data results have been obtained from both models and after the phenomena behaviour was analyzed in comparison with the experimental data obtained by Santos (2011).Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Variáveis térmicas de solidificação, espaçamento dentríticos secundários e resistência à corrosão de ligas hipoeutéticas Al-Ni(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2008-08-14) COSTA, Giselle Barata; SÁ, Fernando Antonio de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8275621144223544In this research is carried out a sequence of experiments with Al-Ni hypoeutectic alloys to analyze the upward vertical directional solidification on transient conditions of heat flow. Experimental approaches were developed to quantitative the thermal variables of solidification, as follow: local time solidification; dislocation rate of liquidus isotherms, tip cooling rates and thermal gradients. This study analyzes the dendrite secondary arms spacing in relation to solidification thermal variables and to alloy composition, beyond link these parameters with corrosion resistance of these alloys. These experimental dendrite parameters, concerning to alloys solidification as Al - 1, 1,4 and 1,8%Ni, couldn’t be compared with the main theoretical model of dendrite growth by others researches, because, to alloy studied there shortage of thermophysic properties, impossible this comparison. The corrosive behavior is analyzed by potentiodynamic polarization technique and cyclic polarization technique lead into 3,5%NaCl solution on room temperature, coarse structure dendritics tend to increase the corrosion rates of Al-Ni hypoeutectic alloys. The experimental results obtained by the corrosion tests were correlated with dendrite microstructure. This way, experimental tendencies of growth dendrite were determined to upward vertical directional solidification.
