The paper describes the Siamaz, an automatic and cooperative information system - with emphasis to the environmental question - in the eight Amazonic countries. It describes its general goals and the basic premises of conception, as well as the operational structure organized as a descentralized cooperative network. It relates also the InformAM experience performing as a National Coodinator Center of the Siamaz in Brazil, as well as the resources for the implementation and the development of the system.
