It observed that generally such institutional forms of cooperation, officially supported, have not matched the spontaneous forms of cooperation, according to peasant traditions and rooted in trust and mutual responsibility. Frequently, associations that were just formal had to engage into agreements or to follow agreements between financial institutions, public and private organizations and the peasant producers. Associations with more effective economic, political or cultural outcomes were those that had, prior to their constitution, implemented collective or community activities, kinds of associations based on shared commitments and trust. These contradictions that traditional communities experience when they participate in the modern institutional system merit attention. Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O extrativismo de mangaba é “trabalho de mulher”?: duas situações empíricas no Nordeste e Norte do Brasil(2008-12) MOTA, Dalva Maria da; SCHMITZ, Heribert; SILVA JÚNIOR, Josué Francisco da; RODRIGUES, Raquel Fernandes de Araújo; ALVES, Jackeline Nakata F.Despite recent academic investments, the work of the women is not very well known yet, as the insistent initiatives of emphasizing its importance for their lives prove to be, so they become more visible and valued. This little knowledge agrees with the fact that the habitual categories of economical and social analysis, for a long time, either omitted or denied female activities, or associated them exclusively to a particular universe called “the works of the women”, marked by a large number stereotypes which escamoteiam socially acquired capacities. The aim of this article is to analyze the social construction of the notion of “work of women” from the refl ection of the two empirical situations of the Extractivism of mangaba practiced, predominantly, by the women of the North and Northeast of Brazil. The research was made in 2007, in the towns of Indiaroba/SE (Village of Pontal) and in Salvaterra/PA (Marajó Island). Besides the distance and the social-cultural particularities, there is still the idea that the extractivism of mangaba is “work of women”. What are the meanings attributed to this expression in so different contexts?Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) As paisagens fantásticas numa cidade amazônica sob o olhar dos taxistas(2012-10) SILVEIRA, Flávio Leonel Abreu da; SOARES, Pedro Paulo de Miranda AraújoThis article intends to analyze the taxidriver's impressions and interpretations about the changes that have been taken place in the city of Belém throughout the XXth century. hence, the taxi-drivers of Belém appear as owners of a knowledge concerning the town based in the practice of getting around an urban area, revealing a collective memory connected to the process of changing of the town's landscape. So, an imaginary emerges built inside a professional category in relation to the city of Belém, as well as representations, ideas, imaginings and complaints involving the life in town. In a first level, it focus in the perspective of the State reform in the 1990s; in a second level it relates that perspective to the need of building a structure that makes possible developmental action based on proposals of sustainability. The analysis ends with the presentation of some proposals of reform made by developmental institutions (SUDAM/BASA) and, in this context, it shows the difficulties to transform a system that has been based on patrimonial principles in its political actions.
