Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Análise da influência do formato de elemento de concreto e propriedades de fibras de aço na tenacidade à flexão(Rede Latino-Americana de Materiais, 2018-10) OLIVEIRA, Marco Antonio Barbosa de; RAMOS, Edson Marcos Leal Soares; OLIVEIRA, Dênio Ramam Carvalho de; POMPEU NETO, Bernardo BorgesConcrete characterizing studies with steel fibers starting from the assay of the traction on flexural of prisms to obtain the toughness flexural have being done to the parameterization of the mechanic behavior of concrete pipes with steel fibers. The study aim is to adjust curves modeling the toughness estimates to the flex on concrete pipes in function to the toughness flexural on prims, both with steel fibers randomly oriented and moreover verify if there is or there is not significant statistic difference among toughness average to flexural when compared to the concrete element form (pipe or prism), and the priorities of steel fibers: Form Factor (65 or 80), State (free or joined to the basis comb) and theoretical fiber consumptions (0,25% or 0,38% or 0,50%). Curves were adjusted modeling the concrete pipe toughness with steel fibers in function of prism flexural toughness, being possible to observe that larger is the prism flexural toughness the larger will be the pipe flexural toughness. The analysis of variance was used to evaluate the existence or not of significant statistic difference among double or triple or quadruples associations. It was individually found that there is not significant statistic difference among the average values of toughness flexural, when compared concrete elements forms, however, there is significant statistic average values of toughness flexural when compared: (i) Form Factor; (ii) State and (iii) Theoretical Fiber Consumption. There was influence on the average values of flexural toughness when we make associations among the different levels of form factors, state and theoretical consumptions on fibers.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Análise das causas de aditivos de custo e de prazo em obras públicas de instituições federais de ensino(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-03-19) ALVARENGA, Felipe Campos; MAUÉS, Luiz Maurício Furtado; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7497951647889934Completing works within the cost and schedule stipulated in the planning phase is a major problem faced by managers in the construction industry. With this, several studies have been carried out around the world to identify the main reasons that lead to noncompliance with the works at the time and cost initially established. The present study aims to analyze the contractual additions made in public works of the Federal Institutions of Education (IFEs) and the main reasons that led to their conclusion. To achieve this goal, statistical tools were used to compare the cost and time changes between the country regions. The data of this work includes public construction projects divided in all the 5 regions of the Country, filtered from the database of the Ministry of Education. A diagnosis was made showing the percentage of additives among the regions and the main justifications of the same ones indicated in a sampling in this database. Statistical techniques such as the Kruskall-Wallis Analysis of Variance and the Mann-Whitney U-Test were used for data analysis and inference. As results, the differences in the distribution of time and cost additives were statistically significant among the regions, with the South and Central-West regions presenting the greatest differences and the North, Northeast and Southeast regions with a statistically similar behavior among them. Of the 2178 projects collected, 69.05% had additives of term and 61.89% of cost. The main factors that affect time and cost of the projects were the inclusions and / or modifications of design and the additions of services. The ways to reduce the incidence of overruns point to the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology, lean construction and greater experience in the management of works.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Gender, age, endoscopic findings, urease and Helicobacter pylori: all uncorrelated within a sample of a high gastric cancer prevalence population in Amazon(Instituto Brasileiro de Estudos e Pesquisas de Gastroenterologia e Outras Especialidades, 2019-09) MIRANDA, Ariney Costa de; CALDATO, Cássio; SAID, Mira Nabil; LEVY, Caio de Souza; TEIXEIRA, Cláudio Eduardo Corrêa; QUARESMA, Juarez Antônio SimõesBACKGROUND: It is widely assumed that gender, age, gastritis and Helicobacter pylori , all have some degree of cor-relation and, therefore, can synergistically lead to the development of gastric cancer. OBJECTIVE: In this cross-sectional study, we expected to observe the above mentioned correlation in the analysis of medical records of 67 patients of both sexes (female, n=44), mean age ± standard deviation: 41±12 years old, all from Belém (capital of Pará State, Brazilian Amazon), a city historically known as one with the highest gastric cancer prevalence in this country. METHODS: All patients were submitted to upper gastrointestinal endoscopy for gastric biopsy histopathological analysis and rapid urease test. All diagnoses of gastritis were recorded considering its topography, category and the degree of inflammatory activity, being associated or not associated with H. pylo-ri infection. RESULTS: The results show that no statistically relevant associations were found among the prevalences of the observed variables. CONCLUSION: The authors hypothesize that observed risk factors associated to gastric cancer might be lesser syner-gistic than is usually expected.
