This dissertation aimed to discuss how the teaching of African History and Ethnic-Racial Diversity, prescribed by law 10639/03, has an important contribution to an anti-racist education. Thus, we mobilize, through the dialectical process between teaching and learning as pedagogical tools, knowledge that involved the ancestry that walks with memory and, as a means, the orality to work on the valorization of an identity linked to the African continent. For this, we searched through the interface between “Griot Technology” from ancestry and the orality technology of cyberspace podcast, to put our purpose into practice. Our studies were based on “Irmã Maria Angelica Dantas school”, in Paragominas, which in its Political Pedagogical Project includes the “Project Black is the Root of Freedom” for discussions on ethnic-racial relations.

This research delves into the creation process of artworks from the hybrid performative arts field, which present textile yarn as their primary element of poetic expression, culminating then in the photo performance Bilreiras Ancestres as their current development. The works have been conceived based on the confluence of two distinct leitmotivs, respectively characterized as biographical-affective and political poetical: the practice of bobbin lace techniques by my great-grandmother, Maria Antônia da Conceição, an ancestral instance and creation spark of the here present poetic (MARTINS, 2021); and changes observed in this centenary know-how from its insertion among indigenous people onwards in the brazilian North and Northeast regions during the portuguese colonial time (LOPES, 2005). The relational aspect through the contact with the materials and techniques emerges as a fundamental stage for the deflagration of theoretical considerations and creative processes. This aspect reveals a dimension of entrancement by the ancestral textile technologies as a methodological and poetical resource towards the renewal of traditional knowledge through the production of contemporary art.

(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2025-04-04) SILVA, Adriana Tobias; LEAO, Ana Claudia do Amaral; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3091200390689592
“DIVINE HOUSE: Art, Ancestry, and Belonging in the Sacred Spaces of Dona Benedita’s Festa do Divino in the Quilombo Urbano Liberdade”, this research explores the possibilities of interpreting the images of the Festa do Divino Espírito Santo by analyzing its spaces and their hierarchies according to the rituals performed there. In this sense, I seek to go beyond a mere analysis of images; this is an act of self-writing—of myself and my great-aunt—from the place where these rites take place. It is a writing that emerges from an absence, one that I have been filling with images I did not experience while my grandmother was alive, and that I now live through my gaze, shaped by the experience of a pandemic. I write for my ancestors, especially for my great-aunt, a caixeira of the Festa, for myself, and for other women who could not continue their crafts and traditions due to religious racism. In this work, I draw from the concept of escrevivência developed by writer Conceição Evaristo and establish a dialogue between my great-aunt and me through my photographs—capturing imaginary and physical spaces, as well as those reshaped with ritualistic purposes. This dissertation is a study of ancestry and belonging, exalting the history of a Black woman, a mineira, and a grandmother to all. Through a photographic essay, I rewrite voices that were silenced, based on my own perspective and the testimonies of participants and organizers of the Festa do Divino in the Liberdade neighborhood, the largest urban quilombo in Brazil.

In recent years, new anticoagulants have been developed with the purpose of minimizing the difficulties encountered in the clinical management of conventional dru- gs, but there are no published data on its pharmacogenetics. Considering the hypothe- sis that polymorphisms related to its metabolism may be the source of genetic variability, this study aims to make inferences on molecular epidemiology of polymorphisms in CyP3a4 (rs2246709) and CyP2j2 (rs890293) genes related to the metabolism of Rivaroxaban, a new direct factor Xa inhibitor. 136 samples from healthy individuals in a population of northern Brazil with a high degree of inter-ethnic mix, so as to guarantee that the pharmacogenetic goal was achieved, have been subjected to a parallel analysis of genomic ancestry for the individuals investigated. The results sho- wed significant differences among genotypes for CyP3a4 observed in the study com- pared to all ancestral populations for a polymorphism 99,365,719 a> G ( P < 0.05). The mixed population of northern Brazil, therefore, showed differences in the distribution of genotype frequencies in relation to ancestral groups, forming our population. The same finding was not observed for the CyP2j2 gene polymorphism. It is noteworthy that the polymorphism in the CyP3a4 gene in the investigated sample is influenced by indivi- dual ethnic European contribution. Considering the high miscegenation featuring local people, and the advancement of Pharmacogenomics in current medicine, such data can contribute to a better understanding of the pharmacogenetics of that new anticoagulant.

This study highlights the role of festivals in the Dona Juscelina Quilombola Community as fundamental expressions of quilombola identity and memory, which, although they attract visitors, transcend the recreational nature of the gathering. These festivities are configured as spaces for political and social construction and, through ancestry, promote collective consciousness and the strengthening of community ties. In this context, the following questions arise: what elements and social practices are present in quilombola festivals? How can social practices contribute to a multiple vision of tourism and the notion of Tourism of Origins? In view of this, the main objective of this study is to analyze the original-ancestral practices in quilombola festivals in northern Tocantins and identify their interface with tourism. Thus, the following specific objectives were established: to characterize quilombola festivals, the community and its agents; to identify the original-ancestral practices of quilombola festivals; and to investigate the elements and strategies of the community in festivals in tourism. In this sense, qualitative and interdisciplinary methods were used, including interviews and focus groups, based on social research, in the Dona Juscelina Quilombola Community, in the north of the state of Tocantins. Multidimensional analysis of festive and tourist practices was used to generate data, which revealed the depth of these encounters, which incorporate symbolic elements, rituals and social interactions, providing an immersive tourist experience in the quilombola culture. In addition, the festivals act as educational, anti-racist and social awareness tools, triggering debates on broad themes, such as self-management, cultural recognition and social justice. It was observed that quilombola festivals can be understood as dynamic networks of reaffirmation of autonomy and community organization, essential for tourist experiences in the community. Therefore, the notion of Tourism of Origins emerges, which emphasizes the value of quilombola knowledge and practices, breaking a paradigmatic rupture with traditional tourism models by valuing ancestral knowledge and questioning the power structures imposed by the tourist market. Origin tourism promotes a perspective on multiple opportunities to understand tourism, focused on the practices of quilombola communities, which are determined by the protagonism and ethnic values of quilombolas. Finally, it highlights the resistance of quilombola communities in the face of economic, social and environmental pressures, where tourism is capable of becoming a tool for social strengthening and community cohesion, consolidating an approach that respects and strengthens the ancestral quilombola identity.
