(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-08-16) SOUZA, Raquel Ribeiro de; ALBÉRIO, Carlos Augusto Abreu; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2335187399740995; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9364-3990
INTRODUCTION: Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease that remains a serious global public health problem, and lack of adherence to treatment contributes to the development of resistant strains. OBJECTIVE: To build a web application as a technology to assist in the management of adverse reactions related to the treatment of MDR TB in patients treated at the João de Barros Barreto University Hospital (HUJBB). METHODOLOGY: This is a cross sectional, observational, descriptive study on patients diagnosed with multidrug-resistant TB (MDR TB) in the intensive phase of treatment. In addition, methodological research into technological development was carried out, which consists of building a product that can be implemented in the care of patients with MDR TB. The web application was validated by health professionals who work at the MDR TB Outpatient Clinic and the HUJBB Outpatient Pharmacy using the form with responses on the Likert scale. RESULTS: In this study, 17 patients were evaluated, with a predominance of females (52.94%), between 50 and 59 years old (29.41%). Furthermore, regarding the lifestyle habits of the researched population, it was found that 7 claimed to be alcohol drinkers (33.33%), 5 smokers (23.81%) and 3 illicit drug users (14.29%). The most predominant clinical complaints were arthralgia, nausea, vomiting and anxiety. Regarding comorbidities, 60% reported having diabetic mellitus (DM), while the other items, such as systemic arterial hypertension (SAH), asthma, osteoporosis and neuropathy presented equal distribution with 10% each. Regarding laboratory tests, the hematimetric parameters of 47.06% of the patients presented anemia, while the biochemical parameters were observed values above the reference for: fasting glycemia, creatinine, TGO, TGP, alkaline phosphatase, GAMMA GT, amylase, lipase and in total bilirubin and fractions. Based on this information, a web application was built and, subsequently, the application was validated using a Likert scale with health professionals. Thus, a Global Content Validation Index (Global CVI) of 0.93 was obtained. To be considered valid, the Global CVI must present a value equal to or greater than 0.78. CONCLUSION: The application proved to be valid for use as a tool for managing complaints related to the treatment of MDR TB.

The Finger Tapping Test (FTT) is a classical neuropsychological test that assesses motor functioning, and recently it has been employed using smartphones. For classical protocols, it has been observed that sex and handedness influence the performance during the test. By assessing the influence of sex and handedness on the test, it is possible to adjust the performance measurements to ensure the validity of test results and avoid sex- and handedness-related bias. The present study aimed to evaluate the influence of sex and handedness on smartphone-based FTT performance. We developed an Android application for the FTT and recruited 40 males and 40 females to carry out three spatial designs on it (protocols I, II, and III). Participants’ performance was measured using the global, temporal, and spatial parameters of the FTT. We observed that for the performance in protocol I, handedness had a significant influence on global and temporal variables, while the interaction between handedness and sex had a greater influence on spatial variables. For protocols II and III, we observed that handedness had a significant influence on global, temporal, and spatial variables compared to the other factors. We concluded that the smartphone-based test is partly influenced by handedness and sex, and these factors should be considered during the evaluation of the smartphone-based FTT.

Concrete is the most widely used building material in the world, resulting in high consumption of natural materials, thus, the reuse of waste in substitution of cement and aggregates in the production of concrete enables reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, reduction in extraction of natural raw materials, in addition to the reduction on the disposal of these wastes in nature. Given the need to develop solutions that contribute to the efficient reuse of waste, this paper aimed to analyze the state of the art of national production of concrete with waste reuse, to develop a mobile application to promote the reuse of waste in concrete production. Through bibliometric analysis of Brazilian publications on concrete with reuse of waste, we analyzed works published over a period of 20 years in the Web of Science database, revealing growing interest on the subject, especially the construction and demolition waste, being this the most published and protagonist residue of the most influential article on the subject. The analysis of the publications allowed the creation of a knowledge base on the use of waste in concrete production. These data were used in the development of an application for Android mobile devices, which allows the user to have easy access to concrete dosages with reuse of residues, obtain information on potential waste suppliers and calculate the production costs of this concrete. The system has 41 different mix proportioning, including 7 concrete types and 10 waste options, allowing the user to achieve environmental gains by replacing up to 100% of natural concrete aggregates with waste and saving up to 11.82% over cost. of concrete produced without waste. Keyword: concrete, waste, database, application, bibliometrics.

This work aims to develop a pilot project of an online Monitoring System for implementation in dam instrumentation, using a platform and free software. The research methodology was carried out in 6 stages, as follows: the literature review; the selection of the development board; the development of a data logger; the development of an application for analog sensor reading; the implementation of the Monitoring System in a controlled environment and the implementation of the Monitoring System in the field. Finally, the conclusions obtained with the elaboration of this research were: the chosen development board, the ESP8266, had a satisfactory performance, being able to be programmed by the Arduino development environment, besides having wifi connection, which allowed the construction of a Data Logger that uses a wireless network, with IP addressing for data presentation. The application created, developed in IDE Android Studio, had satisfactory answer, being able to log in the IP address of the Data Logger, and present the user, in real time, the results on screen. Controlled environment tests were performed to verify the response of a pressure sensor, and in the field, where it was possible to obtain trend curves in each of these environments with great precision, however, by comparing the curves obtained with the curve. standardized calibration, only the convergence of the readings values up to the value of the head height equal to 3 mca was observed, whereas values of head height of 3 to 6 m.c.a. demonstrated approximately 1% dispersion from the standard curve and readings above 6 m.c.a. presented dispersion greater than 5%. This was only possible to identify because the application has a sampling period of 800 milliseconds, thus ensuring a reading in practically real time.

(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-05-23) OLIVEIRA, Alex Santos de; FERREIRA, João Elias Vidueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8018691254585785; MERLIN, Bruno; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7336467549495208
Technological advancement has helped the integration of the visually impaired by increasing access to education. This paper presents a proposal to update the application Quimivox Mobile, developed for Android devices, which presents a tool accessible to the visually impaired, giving access to periodic table of chemical elements via synthesis of Voice and commanded by global gestures that do not require pointing to specific elements of the interface. In order to enable vident/visually impaired collaboration, the application also provides visual returns. In addition to the numerical and organizational information provided by the periodic table, the Quimivox Mobile provides several explanatory and qualitative information regarding the: family, period, classification and main uses of the element. The application also adds accessible information about the distribution of electrons in layers and energy sublevels, based on the Linus Pauling diagram and analyzing the data obtained through the evaluation of the application. Consequently, the visually impaired may have greater autonomy in the study of the periodic table and the electronic distribution of the chemical elements when using the new application. Thus, a better teaching and learning of chemistry becomes possible, with equality in the use of technologies with accessibility techniques using mobile devices with touch screen and open source operating system.

T-Tátil: desenvolvimento de uma tecnologia assistiva para auxiliar pessoas com deficiência visual na leitura e interpretação de desenhos táteis
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-12-12) ZAMPROGNO, Leonardo Zani; FERREIRA, João Elias Vidueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8018691254585785; MERLIN, Bruno; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7336467549495208
Graphic content, including images, drawings, schematics and maps, is effective in providing a considerable amount of information concentrated in a small space, allowing a better organization of data and information series so that they are easily understood. They are widely used in the teaching process at all levels of education. Naturally, visually impaired people do not have easy access to such contents. Other strategies are used by visually impaired people to access graphic contents, one of them is the use of tactile drawings that enable to explore graphic representations using the sensory touch system for this task. However, it is difficult for visually impaired people to be autonomous in reading and exploring tactile drawings usually needs the help of a sighted person to provide initial information, such as the general message conveyed by the tactile drawing, and to guide the individual in step-by-step reading. The absence of such a person may make it impossible or considerably difficult for visually impaired people to use tactile drawings. Assistive technologies have been developed to make it easier for visually impaired people to access graphic data and even to make displays more dynamic. In this paper we list some of the main assistive technologies that aim at helping visually impaired people to read and interpret tactile graphs using various forms of feedback for vision substitute sensory systems. After studying different strategies for exploring tactile designs adopted by visually impaired people, we proposed to develop an application for ordinary tablets exploring the benefit of multimodal interactions by overlaying tactile designs printed on touchscreens intended to assist the visually impaired people in reading tactile drawings. After confirming that interactions with current touchscreens devices are possible through the papers used to explore tactile designs superimposed on the screen. In a case of study, the application prototype was tested with three blind students demonstrating that the solution has a promising approach to improve exploration of tactile designs. It also raised improvement requirements. After the implementation of these improvements, a controlled experiment with 8 blind participants was performed to compare the exploration of tactile designs with braille subtitles with multimodal tactile designs, using the developed application, and to evaluate the application usability through a SUS (System Usability Scale) questionnaire. The results showed that the application has excellent usability, according to the participants, and that the task of tactile exploration is more enjoyable, easier and faster with multimodal tactile designs, demonstrating also a performance gain and improved understanding of tactile design, and at last that user satisfaction was higher when using the application.

(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-07-10) OLIVEIRA, Mônica Silva de; MERLIN, Bruno; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7336467549495208; VERAS, Adonney Allan de Oliveira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2201652617167877; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7227-0590
Assistive Technologies has contributed significantly to the inclusion process, encompassing solutions that contribute to the dynamic and gradual construction of the teaching-learning process. It is possible to realize over the years the development of many computational solutions in this area for the visually impaired. However, there is also a strong need for productions in specific areas, such as Genetics, a subarea of Biological Sciences, still little explored. Analyzing this gap, the work in question proposes to make use of mobile devices as a facilitating tool in the inclusion process, through the development of an assistance application to assist in the teaching of classical genetics to students with visual impairments in the regular classroom. Allied to the mobile application, a web platform is proposed to promote and facilitate the interaction between students and professors of the discipline. Based on the survey of requirements and usability tests, through the SUS Usability Scale, the application interface was developed, according to meet the needs of the users. This study was carried out in the city of Tucuruí, the southeastern region of Pará. The results obtained in relation to the use of the application by the participants, show a high level of satisfaction (80%), also allowing it to be used by the visually impaired student to study inside and outside the school environment.
