Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Do Largo de Nazaré à Praça Santuário: as transformações entre 1982 e 2015(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-03-31) OLIVEIRA, Jeová Barros de; PONT VIDAL, Celma de Nazaré Chaves de Souza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0782346426511704This work is the result of studies of the transformations occurred in the old Largo de Nazareth and its surroundings, as long as it was still a small habitation site of Placido family man who found an image of Our Lady of Nazareth in 1700 in the city Belém, Pará 's capital, a city in the Amazon, northern Brazil . The Nazareth Shrine belongs to the range of Marian Shrines around the world, however, was nonexistent a Master research on the site where it was built, showing the architecture implemented on site.The Nazareth Largo meets every year, two million people participating in the Feast of the Cirio and the research sheds light on the evolution of the architectural process that formed the place. He sought to answer the gaps on the architecture developed in Nazareth from the first hut to the transformation of the Square "Just Chermont" in a Sanctuary Square, through historical events that favored the appearance of the place and its final adaptation as sacred space to the Catholic religion. The survey gathered Nazareth Parish publications, Archdiocese of Bethlehem, Barnabites Fathers, Public Archives and Official Sites justifying the bibliography, documentary consultations, visits, questionnaires and new photographic records of the subject matter.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Mercados públicos em Belém (1940-1943): arquitetura, história e funcionalidade(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-09-30) SANTOS, Hélio Canto dos; VIDAL, Celma de Nazaré Chaves de Souza Pont; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0782346426511704This work is included in the studies about commercial spaces, which seek to approach their impact on society’s changes and cities’ transformations. Several studies in this area approach the construction’s peak of public markets in the late nineteenth century in Europe and Brazil. This work analyzes three public markets built in the 1940s in Belém, from their relations of origin, development and permanence in time and space: the markets of Pedreira’s, Jurunas and Sta. Luzia. Qualitative and historical-interpretive research methods are used, through the study of use of its architecture, history, functionality and study of surroundings, from documentary material, crisscross information and interviews with their users. Evidences and indications about the origin's and development's periods of the markets was identified, that aid in the understanding of their meanings over time. It was found the state of degradation, underutilization or change of usage in some of these markets as well as the urgent need to work in a strategic plan for the management of such traditional public spaces in the social, cultural and economical life of the city.
