The existence of organic matter in a watercourse results in the consumption of dissolved oxygen. This is due to the processes of stabilization of the organic matter made by the bacteria decomposers, which use the oxygen available in the liquid medium for their respiration. The decrease in the concentration of dissolved oxygen has several implications from the environmental point of view, constituting one of the main problems of water pollution. In view of this problem, this work aims to know the behavior of the autodepuration phenomenon in the Tucunduba River Basin in Belém-PA using the Streeter-Phelps model.

Avaliação de sistemas de prevenção e contenção de inundações em bacia de drenagem urbana

This study aimed to assess the risk of flooding and propose alternatives for prevention and containment of flood for the river basin Tucunduba Oxbow River, located in Belem, from the development of methodology for hydrological and hydraulic simulation, aiming the sustainability of macro drainage system, and analyze the physical variables of the basin to be used as input data for the mathematical models, will also be presented in full simulation methodologies. The results show the application of the models mentioned, as essential tools for the prevention and containment of floods on urban drainage basins, which suffer direct influence of the tidal regime. Since the prevention and containment of extreme events such as floods, is an essential tool for urban areas subject to climatic accidents due to the amount of lives involved in the process, disease by the collapse of the sanitation system and impairments on buildings , materials and infrastructure assets.

Marchas e contramarchas na luta pela moradia na Terra Firme (1979-1994)

The dissertation examines the struggle for housing developed in the area Tucunduba River Watershed, specifically in the Terra Firme between the years 1979 to 1994. The research aimed to analyze the contributions produced in the process, they designed for resistance and social organization by the residents of that place. We use primarily journalistic sources and interviews with leaders. During the eighties, political events shook the country, promoted by the return of the crowds to the squares and put in a headline set of social demands, among which the urban reform. In Belém, the Movement and Titling of Urban Area Tucunduba - MOTUAT, became one of the social references to become representative of popular demands in the fight for the right to live on land considered at the Federal University of Pará - UFPA.

O plano de desenvolvimento local no Tucunduba: uma experiência de gestão urbana reformista na Amazônia

This work examines the Local Development Plan (LDP) for the urban occupation of "Riacho Doce" (2001-2004), in the Tucunduba basin, in the city of Belém, based on the document conception, the perceptions of the technical team, and the experiences of the dwellers. It analyzes references and discussions regarding a new project for the city re-democratization, based on the ideals of Urban Reform. The work is, therefore, an attempt to reexamine the social space theory through the contextualization of urban planning in the Amazon region, at pace with social and spatial contradictions in urban policies for the city of Belém. It is an exercise of recognition and acknowledgement of the city complexities, as well as a proposal for new possibilities of urban management.
