Introduces the practice of informational marketing as an object of study, to curb the stereotypes that exist about the image of the professional librarian. The goal of this research is to analyze the design of the 2nd and 3rd year students of E.E.E.F.M. Brigadier Fontenelle, with respect to the course Library. The method used is the qualitative and quantitative research. The results examine the points cause the stereotypes of the occupation of librarian and library science. The research concludes, showing the testimony of some students, after the lecture held at school, and as they note the inclusion of the librarian regarding the fields of expertise in library science and its real image front of society.

The aim of this dissertation is the information literacy of professionals who are library managers from the Library System of the Federal University of Pará. What are the information competences required to library managers of the Library System of the Federal University of Para? Which of these competences are already part of daily work and which one need to be developed by those managers? These were the questions that guided this study. The research was grounded in proceeding blending quantitative and qualitative approaches, conducted at first, as an exploratory study using a questionnaire addressed to those professionals – librarians and managers. Five of these librarians were interviewed, they were chosen by their representativeness and stage of development of these libraries, at this time using life history as methodology. All those data and its analysis allowed us to know who these managers have their competences, their profile, their most frequently difficulties, and their functions and work that they have developed and what resources or practices they use to build capacity and keep up to date in their position and profession. The results confirm the absence of a ground-work, even small one, to act as manager of libraries and indicate the needing to create training programs for information literacy for these professionals and thus fill the current lacks.

Construções intersubjetivas na prática profissional bibliotecária: reflexões

The article addresses intersubjective practice in Librarianship and progressive action, in order to find clues about the receptivity that involves this science as a humanistic area, establishes critical and emancipatory thoughts aiming at the bonds of cooperativity. For this, it contemplating theory and practice and re-signifies technical action by the Progressive (social) action of the librarian. This is a theoretical research, with a critical and interpretative approach, based on the thinking of Jürgen Habermas on communicative action and based on the hermeneutical characterization, which tries to develop in the discursive action, in the intersubjective dialogue of Librarianship and in the social role of the librarian. The study show that it is necessary to lead librarians closer to the social, with mediation discursive practices, and to build contributions to think beyond the instrumental aporias and to go beyond the paradigms that are instituted. Through communicative reasons, the reform of the constructs (instrumental) of the ideology of the technique comes to tow, in the perspective of making users more autonomous. Therefore, although it is an interpretative base study, one can assert the progressive and critical librarianship is a starting point for other studies, an open path to information science and its epistemological base studies.

A música como fonte representativa de informação: o caso da Fonoteca Satyro de Mello no CENTUR/FCPTN

Introduction: To consider the music as interpretative source of information. Objective: Discusses the importance of music as representative aspect in Fonoteca Satyro Mello and as social and informational process. Methodology: This is an exploratory research of bibliographic and documentary basis. Discussions: Presents the Fonoteca Satyro Mello as an instrument of cultural representation and the music as a source on the social context information librarian. Conclusions: Terminates the experience reporting librarian must have to play its role of mediator and cultural agent in Fonoteca Satyro Mello.

Narrativas da censura informacional registrada sob a ótica historiográfica: apreciações a partir da influência do Terceiro Reich Alemão

The article investigates the historiographical context of German Third Reich locating their ways of censorship, its influence with political propaganda Nazi and its climax with bücherverbrennung action (book burning) involving German libraries. It establishes itself as a theoretical approach of historical, bibliographic and documentary character, adopting the knowledge of evidence, evidencing the interpretative aspects of other forms of knowledge that share the clues and footprints through indirect knowledge. It presents the context of censorship in books from the historiographical narratives of the Third German Reich, highlighting the intention of Nazi intolerance, which was marked against freedom of expression and knowledge, propagated by propagandist strategies employed to influence adherents to practices of Nazi extremism. Rescues the memory of German librarians in your function were persecuted by the Nazi barbarism and, at the same time, captives of an outrageous regime on the achievements of their role as disseminators of knowledge and scientific aspects, technical and humanist.

Nas causas de um sintoma social o bibliotecário atua: a mediação e uso da informação como fonte de interposição sobre o vírus HIV

It is of importance that the professional librarian has as a mediator of information vis-à-vis the reality of social cases, with regard to concepts about the HIVAIDS. And their seriousness in-group, to bring assistance through the information, as foundations against the superstitions and misconceptions regarding HIV/AIDS. The theme is relevant to all areas therefore presents the discussions about prejudices and myths in the early 80. Above all have their goals based on addressing the social formation of own information professionals, especially the contribution of the librarian on social action for the context and the spread of the HIV virus. The methodology was a bibliographical revision about the exploratory, Almeida Júnior (1997) and Marques (2002), among others. In summary, the research used two sources of information such as the bases MEDLINE, and VHL in that sought articles published in the Decade of 80, among others found articles about the drugs that inhibit HIV among them called Zidovudine (AZT). The results show a lack of information, in which prejudice still linger in the social context. Because information workers at this point rebound the librarian, which is essential in this context, where it contributes to health professionals, to take the uncertainties, assisting on the information convalidadas to the virus carriers themselves and society.

Reflexão Bibliotecária no ato de mediar: entre a racionalidade e a concepção representacionista da informação

It discusses library mediation from Fred Dretske informational action, the findability and usability of information through affordances in Jerome Gibson, and communicative action on the basis of Habermasian thinking from a critical and interpretive approach. In methodological terms, this is a theoretical research, with a critical and interpretive approach, which tries to develop the informational perception of the librarian in informational environments, which is responsible for the formation of information patterns that direct the perception-action of its users. In conclusion, it is considered that information as a phenomenon of cognitive action emerges by fissuring the technical structures of information theory by developing in the discursive act and in the intersubjective dialogue of the librarian as mediator and in the subjects that seek the knowledge available in libraries.
