Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Avaliação da contaminação por mercúrio na foz do Rio Tapajós e exposição ambiental à população de Santarém-PA, Brasil(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-10-06) SOUSA, Enilson da Silva; QUEIROZ, Joaquim Carlos Barbosa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4383935463464893In the last decades of the twentieth century, academic work focused on discussion of the mercury problem in the Brazilian Amazon pointed to a mercury contamination of anthropogenic origin, especially from artisanal gold mining prospecting activities. In the mid-1990s and early years of this century, with the advancement of research in the field of geochemistry focused on this discussion, point to a possible geogenic origin of this contamination, and environmental exposure of the local population would be related to protein intake of animal origin, from the fish and work activities. The aim of this study is to analyze the speciation of Hg and methylmercury in soil and particulate matter in the mouth of the Tapajós River, and perception, mobilization capacity and political action on contamination by this metal of the population of Santarém; Elaborate mercury maps from spatially distributed data using up geostatistics to infer results for the location and risk of contamination of the metal along the mouth of the Tapajós River, Santarém-Pa.; and maps of contamination probability that this metal, which enabled the classification and quantification of contaminated areas for different confidence levels in and around the mouth of the Tapajós River; and quantify and evaluate the total mercury concentrations in water and particulate matter and hypotheses about the origin of this contamination in the Tapajos bay. The methodological procedures included the making location maps, georeferencing of points of collection and identification of the search area; Application Integrated Questionnaires for Measuring Social Capital Index - SC-IQ, proposed by the World Bank; Maps of the quantify the mercury concentrations in the study area and prepare maps of the spatial distribution of concentrations; and maps of the spatial distribution of concentrations and use of geostatistics (factorial kriging), which enabled the development of maps at different scales of variability associated with anthropogenic or geogenic origin activities. Two campaigns one in July and December 2014, with 37 and 45 sampling points in each were conducted. The results point to a possible contamination of the area at some points, with indexes to the top of the type recommended by the resolution n. 357/2005, of CONAMA. The results of the factorial kriging point to the possibility that mercury concentrations are associated with the natural environment itself, although it may have contributions due to human activity such as mining and industrial activities in the basin.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Bancos comunitários de desenvolvimento: o papel da comunicação na economia solidária(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-08-29) COELHO, Celina Leila Chagas de Oliveira; MORAES, Sérgio Cardoso de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4568311568729454The present study aims to analyze the role of communication in solidarity economy and local development, especially in Community Development Banks (BCDs). This research has as locus the fishing village in Marudá. The fishmen that inhabit this region and the route of one of existing associations in that place, Associação Beneficiente dos Pescadores de Marudá (ABPM,) will have special attention in this study that intends to understand how the capital stock as an aid process lends and confidence in the search of common objectives – involving or not fishmen and the controllers of ABPM in ways and (un)ways of association group in Marudá. The research framework used for this study was based on Putman (2007) and was complemented with studies made by other authors. This association was privileged and during some years it was the place which was perceived by ABPM. It was the only one which was conducted its objectives for the fishing production in the region making possible the analysis of association route of local fishmen. The methodology applied in this study was the application of interview script among associate informal fishmen, former-associates and non-associate fishmen in ABPM. The anthropological technique of observation and field note-taking had been relevant to establish the contact and dialogue with the studied reality. In order to aid the analyses and interpretations, the analysis technique of Bardin’s content (1977) supported the subjective interpretations during the analyses of the interviews. Although the human existence potential in order to get the politics organization of local fishmen, the practical of association group in Marudá present some difficulties which are caused by the weak capital stock of that control the ABPM and marudaense fishmen whose predisposition for the participation is fragile. Besides this result is temporal. This is the result of the inexistence of common objectives hindering the arise of what it would have been accumulated for the reinforcement of the capital stock.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Capital social, redes sociais e inovações produtivas(2008) PONTE, Tereza Maria Ferreira XimenesSuccessful experiences in motivating local populations show the importance of organizing people and training them to develop innovative projects. It also reveals that communities in which people interact more frequently with each other and where social networks, on a whole, are well integrated, are more likely to overcome their limitations and to take advantage of their opportunities. This in return favors the development of strategies and collective tactics, increasing the power of choice and decision of the community members.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Desenvolvimento da floricultura tropical paraense: uma análise dos fatores locais de inovação(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011) RIOS ARÉVALO, Michelly; PONTE, Marcos Ximenes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0120823127408114The aim of this study was the interaction of specific social communities in the tropical floriculture agglomeration of Pará. The focus was local producers in direct interaction with other agents of the sector in order to value local factors of innovation in tropical floriculture. Although tropical floriculture has a lower economic representation than temperate floriculture (found in other regions of Brazil) in the local scenario, in the short time it has been established, it has been considered by different public and private agents as an important economic activity for the state of Pará. However, there is evidence of agents who focus on social organizations, an alternative that reduces the “production costs” and the “transaction costs” of different activities that this sector demands. Among the communities studied are: the Benevides Florists Association(AFLORBEN), The Santo Antônio Agricultural Cooperative (COOPSANT), The Flower Producers Association of Santa Bárbara (TROPISAN), The Microproducers Association of Castanhal (BARREIRÃO), The Pará Association of Floriculture and Medicinal Plants (PARÁFLOR); and finally, the communities and/or agents that make up the commercial and institutional floricultural scene (The Social Network of the Local Flower Agglomeration of the Metropolitan Mesoregion of Belém). This last community was responsible for the implementation of the central object of the study, where the relevant organizational processes that value the factors of local innovation and their impact on the sustainable development of the sector were integrated. The methodology was based on the analysis of the social capital and of social networks, with an aim to recover the structure and functionality of the local society in relation to a dynamic and competitive market like floriculture itself. The results show that the organizational processes minimize the costs of transaction and help these social groups to remain on the market, and, therefore, value the tropical brand of flowers. Finally, it is suggested that more integrating and far-reaching processes be prioritized in order to strengthen this local activity even more.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Escolarização, capital social e participação sócio-política em uma comunidade amazônica: Retiro Grande/Marajó(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2008-08-14) SEMBLANO, Josiane do Socorro Caleja; OLIVEIRA, Ney Cristina Monteiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4355112931326342This work is a study about participation and social e political involvement of the inhabitants of the area of Retiro Grande in the Island of the Marajó, in the Town of de Cachoeira do Arari. Using interviews, we carried out the mapping of the dialogue network regarding socio-environmental issues among 505 actors from the Amazonian Gateway Territory. The analysis identified 3384 dialogue relationships. Each actor has an average of 6,7 dialogue partners. The analysis of the structural characteristics of the dialogue network was used to build indicators of social capital of the bonding type, based on the mapping of the organization among actors from the same municipalities, and bridging type, based on the identification of relationships among actors from different municipalities. At the municipal level, the distribution of the two types of social capital allowed the characterization of groups of actors according to their differing participation in the environmental governance of the Territory. At the territorial level, the connectivity pattern among the 16 municipalities exhibits a balance between the two types of social capital and reveals the potential of communication and organization among actors, as demonstrated through the example of the local Agenda 21 projects. These results demonstrate how social network analysis can contribute to the definition (or re-definition) of the territories frontiers in order to include a set of municipalities whose cohesion is based on effective social relationships. We also propose governance actions for the Amazonian Gateway aiming at strengthening dialogue processes, reducing conflicts and promoting the sustainable use of natural resources in the Amazon.
