This dissertation addresses the configuration of social engagement against homophobia by the fans of Remo and Paysandu and both clubs from Pará on the internet. As an empirical object, the positions of the barras bravas organised supporters' groups of football Camisa 33 and Banda Alma Celeste were selected; and the Remo and Paysandu clubs, published on their official Facebook pages. The sociation processes in the sense of visibility brought by the communication have enabled discussions about homophobia, which in 2019 was criminalized in Brazil by the Superior Federal Court. Such discussions reached the football arenas and the cultural spectacle of football, where homophobia is often performed by fans. The guiding question is: how is the anti-homophobic social engagement process being carried out amidst the cultural spectacle of Pará football? The main objective is to explain the social engagement against homophobia in Pará football, which in turn is marked by the rivalry between Remo and Paysandu and their respective fans, not just explaining, but went further by proposing a reflection on the universe of football and the practices of homophobia and against homophobia.. The methodology used is content analysis according to Laurence Bardin (1977), and qualitative and bibliographic research to obtain adequate theoretical references, such as Édison Gastaldo (2005), Itamar Gaudêncio (2003), Georg Simmel (1983), Roberto DaMatta (1982) , Manoel Tubino (2001), Frederico Coelho (2006) and Mauricio Murad (2012), for studies that made it possible to approach the proposed subject. The result of the research points out that the engagement against homophobia means a new context in football, which has the internet as a fundamental piece so that it is more relevant and developed in the midst of the Paraense and Brazilian soccer spectacle.

(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-02-26) BERNAR, Lígia Isís Pinto; LAGE, Danila Gentil Rodriguez Cal; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4593992869253877; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3243-8368
This research analyzes the place of critical whiteness (CARDOSO, 2010), represented by white followers who repudiate racism in digital environments, in relation to performance of black women from Belém, represented by activists and producers of digital content. The theoretical framework encompasses different concepts, and theoretical disciplines, organized here in three dimensions: (1) the intersectional approach, comprising Race, Gender and Class, based on the thinking of the authors Cida Bento (2022), Edith Piza (2002), Lia Vainer Schucman (2020), Liv Sovik (2009), Ruth Frankenberg (2004), Zélia Amador de Deus (2008), Cardoso (2010; 2014), and Deivison Campos (2023); (2) that of the communicational gaze, through the lens of interactional processes and mediatization, based on the studies of the authors José Luiz Braga (2017), with interactional devices and the process of mediatization; and Axel Honneth's (2003) and Rousiley Maia (2018) with theory of recognition, used to focus on the behavior of black digital activists and content producers, covering the aspects of intersubjectivity with communication, as well as to understand how the patterns of intersubjectivity occur in the individual and collective relational process of the subjects of this research; and (3) Digital Colonialism, based on Deivison Faustino (2023) and Walter Lippold (2023) to reflect on the dynamics of communication relations in digital environments. The methodological design is that of a qualitative empirical research that connects with the theoretical foundations of this dissertation, which is based on an interactional, relational and situational conception of communication (FRANÇA, 2022). Semi-structured interviews were conducted with eight women, two of whom were black digital activists and two black digital content producers, and four followers racialized as white. From this path, it is possible to highlight that the place of critical whiteness has a secondary role, of public support against racism only in the digital environment, but little effective in terms of practical and daily attitudes in the face-to-face to combat whiteness and racism.

The current Brazil’s government has resumed the discourses that attribute to the public servers the inefficiency and burden of the treasury, in addition to sustaining deprecating predicates to the Federal Universities and to place the Performance Appraisal (PA) as an instrument of its management ideals. The PA is a fundamental process for organizations because it instrumentalizes actions and has a direct influence on careers. Despite this, the Universidade Federal do Pará (UFPA) registers disorders in this context, materialized in formal discrepancies that affect its strategic purpose. Considering that organizations and their processes are result of the communicative interaction between their components, this study aimed to analyze the role and the importance of internal communication in the PA of UFPA servers. The research is applied in its character, being descriptive from the perspective of its objectives and quantitative as to the approach method. The technical procedure for data collection was the field survey, with application of a questionnaire to the proportional stratified probabilistic sample, composed of Technical-Administrative in Education and Professors who exercise a managerial function, both categories were participants in the PA 2018 and work at the UFPA's Campus Belém. There are positive aspects, such as the high qualification of the servants, the considerable interest in feedbacks, the existence of modern communication channels, and the evidence of dialogue between the actors. However, there are signs of noises interfering with the flow of formal information about the appraisal process, since, to obtain it, most informants do not refer to the Administrative Unit that manages the process, besides unknowing the basic rules of the PA. In addition, the computerized system that receives the appraisals needs to be improved so that it can allow, mainly, the feedback and the availability of the appraisal results. The research concludes that communication still needs to assume its strategic role in the People Management area and that there is a need for dialogue between the actors that carry out the UFPA appraisal process, enabling continuous feedback both to improve individual measurements and to build, together, a process better suited to the needs of the public service.

(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-12-03) QUEIROZ, Fábrício Natalino Bentes; COSTA, Luciana Miranda; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1310961057480638; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3843-4499
The interaction between science and society through initiatives of socialization of knowledge has been intensely developed since the 18th century. However, in a scenario of paradigmatic transformations in science, these actions are reconfigured from the influence of several factors, such as criticism of the principles of modernity, the appreciation of different social groups, their knowledge and their cultures, and the strengthening of the communication field. This research starts from the understanding of these phenomena to discuss the interrelation between science, communication and environment to investigate the role of environmental communication in an extensionist action called Espaço ITEC Cidadão, held in the Camillo Vianna and Benito Calzavara woods, located on the Guamá campus of the Federal University of Pará. The main thread is the notion of public communication of science applied to environmental issues, which, in our view, dialogues with the critical debate on the strategies of domination and coloniality, in which science and communication are involved. The exploratory research uses secondary source information about the activities carried out in the Espaço ITEC Cidadão over 15 months and published in the project's profile on the social network Instagram. In addition, the research is supported by an interview, data collection in records of the activities and other materials that reference the project's performance in order to understand the dynamics of interaction between the three fields in this case. The results indicate that there is an interface between science, communication and environment verified by the parallels existing between the different perspectives and models proposed in each area. In the case of the Espaço ITEC Cidadão, this manifests itself in the way the project articulates conceptions of instrumental content to the promotion of a broad debate about sustainability, encompassing the idea of resistance, collectivity and solidarity, for example. Thus, it is evident the tensions and negotiations existing in this relationship, as well as its reflection on the debate abourt social role of knowledge and universities.

communication triggered by the social groups affected by the Hydro Alunorte disaster, in Barcarena, Pará, located in a historical context of environmental injustice (ACSERALD, 2001) that crosses the socio-environmental conflicts in the Amazon. What motivated our study was the fact that the media coverage of the environmental disaster, denounced by local communities and occurred in the beginning of 2018, involving the leakage of tailings from the Norwegian company Hydro Alunorte, leader in the global aluminum market, has achieved national repercussion. and international, but with little space for popular and local voices (STEINBRENNER, GUERREIRO NETO; BRAGANÇA; CASTRO, 2020). Thus, our intention, based on an exploratory study of a qualitative character (YIN, 2016), considering a period of 24 months from the occurrence of the disaster, was precisely to seek the other voices, usually and historically invisible, in order to understand, from the perspective of mediatization (HEPP, 2014), the communication processes and practices (FRANCE, 2016) for resistance (PERUZZO, 1998) that mark in this period the actions of the mobilized social groups, in what we call the field of communicative resistance, in reaction to the impacts caused by the disaster and in the defense of rights and their territories in the municipality of Barcarena, understood as mining "sacrifice zone" (CASTRO, 2019).

The need to improve the service to end customers and suppliers at a multinational in the Industrial Pole of Manaus, due to the low performance of its main KPI (key performance indicator) OTD (on time delivery) and which fluctuated by 56% delivery. Thus, the objective of this work is to raise this index to 92%. The methodology applied for this approach is centered on the philosophy of lean production and quality tools, and for that, a survey of the main problems that negatively impact the main KPI will be carried out in each area or sector of the company, therefore, this research suggests a method for the implementation of lean production based on a macro view of how a company works with a micro control of KPI's. The results point to a main common problem, namely, the communication between the sectors of the company, and several smaller ones that with the support of the board and the application of continuous improvement in the processes, it was possible to raise the KPI to 92%, and which, currently, the company has a delivery rate of 99%.

(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-09-29) SEREJO, Elias Santos; LAGE, Danila Gentil Rodriguez Cal; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4593992869253877; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3243-8368
The democratic crises and political ruptures marked by the 2016 coup, which polarized the public debate in Brazil, showed us that the notions of family have guided contemporary discussions, especially when tensioned from the advances in the struggles for recognition taken up by the LGBTQIA+ populations and of women, through the feminist gender debate. In different spaces, we were able to witness the mobilization of the concept of traditional, or nuclear, family, as a resource for coping with social changes arising from the visibility of other relationships and ways of being and living. At the same time, we also see in debate arenas the assertion that, as a historical-social construct, the family entity is mutable and diverse. In this context, we ask ourselves: what arguments are put forward in the public sphere to defend one or another way of dealing with the issue? And how do the media act in this context? These questions instigated this research. Our general objective in this work is to understand how the notions of family guide the contemporary political debate from the tensions arising from the action of social movements and the meanings produced about the family category in the media. Specifically, we want to a) Identify which senses/notions and arguments about family emerge in different communicational contexts; b) Identify which contemporary landmarks are decisive for the debate on families in the political agenda; c) Understand what notion of politics or democracy underlies discourses about families and what elements/characteristics/aspects of the family entity are in dispute; f) Understand how social movements from different political spectrums (conservatives and progressives) build their political agendas around the family category. For this, we focus on a theoretical framework to understand the elements that led to the rise of the extreme right in western democracies, the convenient partnership between neoconservatives and fundamentalist Christians, especially evangelicals, and the strength of neoliberalism operating as rationality in social relations. In addition, we seek to understand the role of the media in inserting themes for discussion in the public sphere and how social movements appropriate environments of increased visibility to reverberate their agendas. The corpus of analysis consists of texts published on the news portals O Globo and Estadão; and the content of progressive (ABRAFH and Aliança LGBTI+) and conservative (Instituto Plínio Corrêa Oliveira and Movimento de Defesa da Família) sites. To answer our questions, we developed a Content Analysis with technological support from the Iramuteq software, which helped us to systematize the data. For each dimension, we established categories based on the Descending Hierarchical Classification (CHD) derived from the Reinert Method, produced by the software. The categorization allowed us to understand the available arguments about families that deal with the defense of a rigid structure, which contributes to the maintenance of traditionality and an expanded notion of family.

(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2025-02-07) CARDOSO, Diego Tavares; ARRUDA FILHO, Emilio Jose Montero; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9895428179606886; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1574-8332
The status of sustainable consumption has emerged as a differentiation capable of generating demand for environmentally friendly products, which is why several studies have dedicated themselves to better understanding this positioning phenomenon in the context of sustainable consumption. Thus, this research sought to understand the effects of this status of sustainable consumption on engagement and, consequently, on word of mouth when moderated by the type of communication in the virtual environment (rational x emotional). To this end, three quantitative studies were developed, in which statistical techniques were applied using SPSS 23 and PROCESS 4.3 software to analyze the data obtained and achieve a greater understanding of the phenomenon studied. Among the findings of this research, the moderating effect of emotional communication on the relationship between status and engagement stands out, in addition to status with word of mouth. Furthermore, we identified that engagement acts as a mediator in the relationship between status and word of mouth. This study makes significant contributions to the literature and to marketers, offering insights into the most effective type of communication for sustainable products with high or low status appeal, as well as suggesting directions for future research.

(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-06-13) SOUSA, Raissa Lennon Nascimento; AMORIM, Célia Regina Trindade Chagas; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9650931755253248
This research focuses on the emancipatory practices of black women hair braiders living in Amazônia, in Belém Pará. We understand braiding activity as communicative experience of resistance, economic autonomy, and overcoming the oppressions that affect black Amazonian women. The braid, for black women and men, is not just a matter of aesthetics or vanity it represents an encounter with African ancestry and the affirmation of an historically relegated identity by a racist society. For Nilma Lino Gomes (2019), hair and body can be considered expressions of Brazilian black identity, since they are symbols of relations of violence and ethnic racial inequalities. The objective of this work is to understand, in light of communication and social sciences, the crossings that women hair braiders experience on issues concerned to racism, black identity, coloniality, ancestry, territoriality, and resistance. We understand that braiding culture in Amazônia enables singular forms of communication divergent from the logic of the capitalist and colonialist white patriarchal system. As methodological paths inspired by Kilomba (2019), we conducted an investigation focused on the individuals, through non-directive interviews (in depth) with black women hair braiders, who work in the city of Belém Pará. From the reports extracted from this dialogue, we interweave a decolonial and Afrodiasporic epistemology, in which the women's narratives are what show us the paths of research. We are supported by Muniz Sodré's (2014) notion of the organization of the bond and the “common”, Paulo Freire's (2018) critical theory, Grada Kilomba's (2019), bell hooks' (2017) and Nilma Lino Gomes' (2019) reflections on race and gender, and Zélia Amador de Deus' (2019) and Vicente Salles' (1971) perspective on blackness in Amazônia, among others. The emancipatory practices of women hair braiders happen through overcoming economic difficulties, in solidarity, in the valorization of a black, feminist, and Amazonian identity, and above all, in the communicative relationship of black ancestry promoted by braiding.

The article reflects on the conformation of the world view of a group of young people from a city in the southeast of Pará, Parauapebas, about the experience of living on an Amazonian border. The visions of common sense – on the one hand the promise of wealth and development; on the other hand, the image of crisis and violence – are contrasted by the representations effectively constructed by these young people in their daily lives, forming a generational experience marked by the sensation of transience. The discussion is based on research about the social representations of a group of 38 students of a Communication- Journalism course. For the most part, these students were born outside the Amazon region and experienced the social situation identified by several authors as being marked by the conflicting and transient dynamics that characterize the social processes of occupation of the Amazonian territory – a situation that is often identified as an ontological void. We test this perception by contrasting it with the actual daily experience of young people. To do so, we collect their social representations of where they live, inquiring about how their perceptions of the world and the rural Amazon are mediated by the intersubjective and media tissues that make up the Amazonian "frontier" as a space condemning to the transition and to the eventuality.

After the perception of a constant use of a communicational dimension of fashion in the researches that composes the fashion studies, mainly in the US and Europe, we propose to reflect on how some contemporary developments in the communication field contributes to stress some processes on the fashion studies. Especially because of a common preoccupation with the interactional/relational dimension on the two fields. Along with the presentation of our propose of interface, we dedicate to the analysis of the costumes used by the Pará’s singer Gaby Amarantos, due to point how this interface perspective applies to the study of empirical cases.

This article is part of the dissertation of the first author under the guidance of the second author who aims to investigate how the student interprets and understands the set of mathematical problems, and communicate their resolutions to the members of the interaction. Reading becomes a process to better understand the student as well as express the mathematical language. In the present study, two meetings were held. In a first meeting each participant individually solve division problems. Already a secondparticipants who solved individually were placed in pairs to solve division problems. Both the first and the second meeting were filmed and later transcribed and analyzed. The results showed that when the subjects have the ability to communicate in writing to the other of the interaction, they start to reframe their views, conjecturing new reading processes. This research also contributes to the communicative exchanges favoring the coordination of problem solving strategies used by students. We emphasize reading as an activity essential to interpret and understand the text and its interpreter.

    Linguagem e comunicação em Heidegger
(Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, 2014-06) CASTRO, Fábio Fonseca de
This article discusses the ontological dimension in the Heideggerian category of “talking,” based on which we seek to make an interpretation of communication as a fundamentally intersubjective phenomenon. To this end, we use Heidegger’s Being and Time. We begin by explaining Heidegger’s concept of language, which he discusses in the above cited book, to gain an understanding of this philosopher’s concept of communication. We seek to demonstrate that talking is equivalent to giving ordinary meaning to something: not the encounter, the revelation, of the meaning itself of something, in its so-called ontical dimension, but the meaning present in intersubjectivity, in the shared world, and in the resources of understanding that the individual uses in his interactions with others. Based on this rationale, we seek to demonstrate that philosophical reflections about language and communication should be rooted in the ontology of being-with-others in order to go beyond the bounds of the individual’s metaphysics and of subjectivity in order to gain a deeper understanding of the phenomenon of intersubjectivity.

At Belém do Pará, in a territorial context of modernization that distances us from the cycles of Nature and living spaces, the struggle for the right to the city has been intensifying since the 1970s. the Tucunduba Pro Lago Verde Movement, made up of a group of residents of the Terra Firme neighborhood, who have a history of fighting for territory. In the same year of its emergence, a left-wing government came to power in Belém and the movement saw a political opportunity to boost its mobilization for the guarantee of socio-environmental rights with the creation of Tá Selado, the Permanent Forum of Citizen Participation. The objective of this research is to understand how the communicative mobilization processes of the Tucunduba Pró Lago Verde Movement (MTPLV) contribute to the advancement of socio-environmental guidelines in Belém-PA. Social mobilization is taken here as a communicational phenomenon, being understood as a place of encounter and dialogue that makes possible the relationship of different experiences and worldviews, being able to guide the action of the subjects, by tensioning and rebelling against the hegemonic powers in the scope from the city. This research was carried out based on the participatory research methodology (PERUZZO, 2003), inspired by urban ethnography (RODRIGUES, 2006; VELHO, 2003). In the end, it was concluded that the MTPLV has not only been one of the most prominent social actors in the environmentalization of the right to the city agenda in Belém, but has also been reimagining this territory, against the dominant logic of its occupation and expansion
