This paper brings an overview of media communication systems in the Northern region of Brazil (the Amazon) observing its operational orientations and its strategies of social reproduction. The objective is to establish a typology of private and public organizations, as well as of the several communication agents who work in the Amazon, observing their systemic relations and their role in the local media economy.
