Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Amazonsocialdtn: IBR-DTN com bluetooth para inclusão digital na Amazônia(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-05-29) FERREIRA, Ronedo de Sá; CERQUEIRA, Eduardo Coelho; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1028151705135221Despite the evolution in deployed infrastructure and in the way that people access information, still there are those who are socially excluded and have no access to information due to their geographic location (e.g., riverside/countryside communities). This paper proposes an extension to a DTN architecture implementation to allow the dissemination of information in such communities, including educational short-video clips and audio books. The IBR-DTN architecture is complemented with a Bluetooth Convergence Layer, to facilitate the exchange of information over this short-range wireless technology, and with a Bundle Compression mechanism that aims at improving data exchange in short-lived opportunistic contacts happening among nodes. Experiments in a small-scale testbed and in a large-scale simulator environment show that nodes are indeed able to efficiently use contact opportunities to exchange an increased amount of data, allowing people in riverside communities to receive more content related to digital inclusion services.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A educação ambiental como apoio ao manuseio e tratamento dos resíduos sólidos em comunidades ribeirinhas: estudo de caso em Abaetetuba-PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-06-24) SANTOS, Albenita Ribeiro dos; LUCZYNSKI, Estanislau; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9749970886455933One of the major environmental concerns of contemporary society is the consequences that excessive consumption of products of industrial origin has on nature, especially the destination given after their use, this concern is observed in both urban and rural areas. The Abaetetuba-PA riverside communities are among those facing serious problems in the disposal of solid waste, giving them convenient but inadequate treatment. In this sense, this work was carried out in public schools of three riverside communities in the city, from January to December 2018, whose objective was to analyze the practice of Environmental Education as a motivator of sustainable actions regarding the proper use and handling of waste. solid. The research is qualitative and quantitative and participated in the work students of 8th and 9th grade of elementary school. Questionnaires were applied and pedagogical practices were developed, such as lectures, extracurricular activities, workshops and the elaboration of an environmental education booklet. The results were positive and are presented through graphs and tables. It was found that, before the activities, more than half of the students of the three schools, about 70%, were unaware of concepts such as sustainability, environmental education, solid waste, among others, and found the correct destination that their community was giving to household waste, as well as certain old practices of the population such as burning of waste. After the pedagogical activities we can notice the change of mentality in these students. With the knowledge acquired and through the introduction of environmental education, 90% of students thought and acted in a sustainable manner, even condemning any practice that could endanger the environment and their quality of life. Thus, they began to look for alternatives that could alleviate the consequences of improper disposal of solid waste. In addition, they began to bring information from their relatives and those interested in the topic, which until then was known to few. With this, they become multipliers of sustainable actions, contributing to the maintenance of their quality of life. Through an interview with the representative of the Secretariat of the Environment, we learned about projects aimed at minimizing the problem of solid waste disposal on the Abaetetuba Islands and the environmental booklet contributed to promote reflection and motivate the student to new ecological practices. The expected result is that new booklets will be produced and worked with students from all grades in both urban and rural areas of other municipalities and thus expand the practice of environmental education for the protection and preservation of the environment.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Impactos ambientais causados pelas atividades do Complexo Minerometalúrgico de Barcarena na Comunidade ribeirinha do Rio Guajará de Beja do Município de Abaetetuba/PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-04-22) FERREIRA, Genivaldo de Jesus Silva; SILVA, Christian Nunes da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4284396736118279This master's thesis has as its theme the environmental impacts caused by the activity of the Barcarena minerometallurgical complex in the riverside community of the Guajará de Beja river in the municipality of Abaetetuba / Pa and aims to understand, analyze the possible and main environmental impacts caused by the activities of companies. of minerals and transport from the Barcarena metallurgical mining complex from the report of the Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance Intervention made to families affected by the environmental accident of Vila do Conde de Barcarena-Pa, from the technical report of the institute Evandro Chagas (IEC) , of the technical opinion of COMDEC- Technical Coordination of Civil Defense of the Municipality of Abaetetuba and of the Inter-Sectoral Committee of Public Calamity carried out by SEMEIA- Secretariat of Environment of Abaetetuba and 7 Municipalities of the Municipality in 2018 and added to these surveys, are considered reports of arrears families, representatives of communities, secretariats, etc. which through quantitative qualitative interviews allude to the Abaetetuba riverside communities that were affected by the minerometalurgic complex, as the main and possible responsible, the company Norsk Hydro Alunorte, according to the results of the analyzes, of the Committee Diagnosis, the Report and the Technical Opinion previously informed. This research will analyze various aspects of environmental impacts, assessing the perception of public management regarding these challenges faced within the municipality of Abaetetuba, focusing on riverside communities, in order to subsidize the contribution of the elaboration of public policies and strategies. for problem solving, identification and reduction of environmental impacts. For the work to be solid, many authors related to the theme are approached, such as Sánches (2008), Muratori (1998), Vieira (2009), Melo Junior (2002) and Ferreira (2015) Pinto (2006), Paiva e Silva (2012). , Barbosa (2010) and Ribeiro and Alencar (2016), Beck (1995) and Egler (1996), among others, will be used for the purpose of subsidizing research-related themes, giving truth to the information collected and described during the production and elaboration of this work, guaranteeing its scientific nature. The question that leads to the theme is to identify if the environmental impacts caused by the activity of the Barcarena minerometallurgical complex in the riverside community of the Guajará de Beja river of the municipality of Abaetetuba / pa, have a direct reflection on the water bodies and if they cause a series of complications in the water. health of the inhabitants of the surrounding communities. It concludes the research considering that the IEC governmental agencies and the inter-sectoral committee point out that the communities were affected by effluents, the same result converges with the results of the interviews conducted in the community of Guajará de Beja, the main focus of the research conducted to verify the impacts of this community belonging to the municipality of Abaetetuba-Pa.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Território e desenvolvimento: análise da produção de açaí na região Tocantina (PA)(Universidade Estadual Paulista, 2017-08-14) CORRÊA, Rosivanderson Baia; HESPANHOL, Antonio Nivaldo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6472166033420989The present work has as main objective to investigate and to analyze the production of the açaí (euterpe olerácea martius) in the area tocantina in the state of Pará, in matter the municipal districts of Cametá, Igarapé-Mirí and Oeiras do Pará belonging Geographical Microrregião of Cametá, for they be these big producing of açaí. Tends that this experienced product in the last years a great expansion in the regional, national and global external market. The selected temporary cutting if it extends from 1990 to the current days, for being this the moment in that the açaí-fruit, in pulp form, begins to be marketed out of the area, besides the internal consumption in the Amazonian. In that way new products do appear starting from the pulp of the açaí as the açaí ice cream, mix, energy, soft drinks etc. which THE main problem investigated the advantages have been for the riverine communities that produce açaí, with the expansion of the space circuit of the production to the national and international markets? We accomplished the investigation using the bibliographical research, the research of Field and the documental research and results point that development perspective exists to break the açaí production if allied to other activities, as the fishing and the culture of other products.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A Valoração biosocioeconômica de serviços ecossistêmicos como instrumento de ação política das comunidades tradicionais na Amazônia Oriental(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-05-26) FERREIRA, Vanilda Araújo; RAVENA, Nírvia; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0486445417640290; SANTANA, Antônio Cordeiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2532279040491194; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-4324-9178The central axis of this study was to analyze the influences of ecosystem services and the effects of social and environmental externalities generated by large enterprises, especially the multinationals Hydro Alunorte and Cargill Agrícola S. A, on the subsistence conditions and the way of life of traditional communities riverbanks, in Baixo Tocantins. Seeking to understand how the biosocioeconomic valuation of ecosystem services, estimated from the perception of local social agents, can contribute to instrumentalize social struggles in defense of life and the productive strengthening of these traditional communities whose means of survival are being threatened/affected by large enterprises installed in the study area. The riverside communities belonging to the Agroextractivist Settlement Projects - PAE Santo Afonso/Ilha do Xingu and Santo Antônio II/Ilha do Capim, located in the floodplain ecosystem of the municipality of Abaetetuba-Pa, are presented as a basic empirical example. The theoretical-analytical instruments of the thesis are interdisciplinary, converging knowledge from the social sciences. It is operationalized through the key categories of ecosystem services, territory and bio socioeconomic valuation. Having their meanings deepened from other categories that cross them: distributive conflict, socio-environmental justice, power relations and autonomous territoriality. Due to the strategic nature of data collection and analysis, the study excelled in combining qualitative and quantitative research methods. The information was collected through a documentary survey (government plans, Decrees, EIA/RIMA, Plans for the Use of natural resources of PAE, Public Civil Action, Reports, Letters of Denouncement, Minutes, etc.), plus the production of scientific knowledge, technical reports and others relevant to the subject. At the same time, a survey of cartographic representations related to the rationales that guide the use of natural resources and ecosystem services by the different agents that interact in the territory was carried out. Field information took place from free interaction interviews, complemented with semi-structured interviews and application of forms with semi-structured questions with 80 riverside social agents and 10 key informants, including leaders of local social movements and social organizations. In the data analysis, an ethnographic and descriptive methodological strategy was used, given the centrality for the analysis of power in social relations. The data obtained from the application of the forms were submitted to Factor Analysis for the construction of indicators: Social, environmental and economic indicator (Isae); Bioeconomic Productive Potential Indicator (Ippb), and; Political Action Indicator (Iap), which represent them more precisely. In identifying the approximate values estimated for socioeconomic losses, as well as the approximate value of the ecosystem and conservation products and services provided by the riverside communities of the PAE, the Integrated Contingent Assessment Method (MIAC) was used, with the application of the methods of Willingness to Pay (DAP) and Willingness to Receive (DAR), based on Isae, Ippb, Iap indicators; economic (Rfam) and social (Tml, Esc, Tfam). The main results showed that there is an inseparable link between the way of life of traditional communities, their natural resources and healthy ecosystem services in the SAPs. Riverside communities showed a high degree of perception regarding the effects of social and environmental damage (negative externalities), which radically interfere with their forms of existence, but which are hardly recognized and penalized. The maximum annual values estimated for the willingness to pay for the preservation of ecosystems (DAP) and the willingness to accept the substitutive implementation of ecosystems (DAR) corresponded, respectively, to R$ 19.296.39 per family per year and R$ $59.333.42 per family per year. It is concluded that the DAP model, with the greatest significance, expresses the economic value of paying for ecosystem services for the continuity of the PAE' bio sociodiversity preservation. This is knowledge that can anchor the negotiations of local communities in defense of their historical biosocial and economic heritage with the impositions of large enterprises that threaten their territories of life, with the possibility of creating a framework for the construction of new dynamics of bioeconomic development, with social inclusion and environmental sustainability in these traditional territories.
