It is clear that agrarian conflicts have marked and currently mark a field of existence and resignifications for the Tembé people in relation to the conquest of land. More specifically, the Battle of Livramento is analyzed and, based on experiences in History Teaching, the agrarian struggles in the conquest of land and the approaches to this theme within the classroom in Basic Education are discussed. The Battle of Livramento was an armed conflict between Tembé indigenous people and squatters who occupied the Alto Rio Guamá Indigenous Land, which occurred in the 1990s and reached its peak in 1996, when a group of more than 70 individuals, indigenous people of the Tembé, Timbira, Ka'apor, Guajajara and non-indigenous ethnic groups, were imprisoned by farmers and squatters for three days, subjected to torture and lack of minimum conditions for survival, and were only rescued by the Federal Police in Vila do Livramento, in the municipality of Garrafão do Norte. Thus, we surveyed the bibliography on the subject and developed the research based on teaching experiences in the classroom in an indigenous community, as well as on the reports of subjects who experienced and/or remembered those events that constitute an important historical moment in the region and relevant to the work in History Teaching. The research is developed based on interviews recorded by students in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd years of high school about the importance of discussing agrarian conflicts for the Tembé people, as well as interviews with individuals who participated in the conflict, cross-referencing with bibliographical references relevant to the topic. As a result of the research, we propose a supplementary educational material on the Tembé people and agrarian conflicts, which can be used by both indigenous and non-indigenous teachers, especially in history classes, discussing indigenous school education in the northeast region of the state of Pará in the contemporary Amazon, valuing the history of the Tembé people.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) A escola e a terra: ensino de História e Educação em situações de conflitos nas séries iniciais da Escola José Valmeristo, assentamento Quintino Lira/Santa Luzia do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-05-24) OLIVEIRA, Antônio Jefferson Paiva; NUNES, Francivaldo Alves; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4125313573133140; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2750-0625This dissertation aims to analyze the pedagogical practices used in the Teaching of History at José Valmeristo school with the aim of analyzing the historical actions aimed at early grade students at José Valmeristo school. In this sense, a method of teaching history will be presented to these students. The historiographic operation will be carried out combining a social place where practices that relate to method and writing. The achieved objectives took place in person at the settlement and at the school, interviewing teachers and students, in order to understand the existing gaps, about the Teaching of History in that school. Here, the memory and historical awareness of these students are approached, as investigative points if they have a certain knowledge about the local history of the lands in which they live. Based on theoretical and methodological assumptions that dialogue on the subject. Authors who dialogue with the theme will be approached about historical consciousness. The approach to the occupation of the lands of the Cambará farm is relevant because this territory is linked to a past of conflicts and involves a very emblematic character in the northeast region of Pará, the triggerman Quintino Lira. The research approach focuses on the Amazon environment, human rights of the rural population, agri-environmental information and interdisciplinary. The analysis part of the study on human rights issues, the contextualization of the agrarian situation experienced in Para State in view of the sui generis process of land occupation, the origin of land grabbing, land conflicts and intensified the predatory exploitation of environment, as well as the performance of the judiciary towards agri-environmental problems in the state. The results obtained are closely related to the approach taken before the recent change of position of the judiciary in handling of records of rural land riddled with constitutionality and possible emergence of new perspectives of human rights guarantees in rural from this new reality. Natural aspects, the image of the region and its population are current issues in the beginning of this work. Land uses, productivity and the meanings of the earth are elements that allow us to think Tocantina region within a dynamic local and international trade. The way of life of the region Tocantina society is expressed through his actions and extractive activities in rural areas. In this sense we perceive different discourses on the most appropriate form of development in the province of Pará and the clashes between modernization policy and way of living location. The use of legal action in defense of property to mediate land conflicts reveals the numerous intentions and the game forces to ensure mastery of the earth.
