    The increase in the efficiency of industrial processes has been necessary in the present day, due to the high market competitiveness. In this context, techniques that seek to increase the performance efficiency of industrial plant control systems, minimizing costs and maximizing product quality, such as the use of Kalman Filter in process variables that feed control systems, has significant relevance. Kalman filter is a parameter estimation technique that allows, for linear systems, the reduction of noise and uncertainties that are subject to process variables. Its wide use is mainly due to the fact that the variables (information) that are obtained through the process, through physical instruments and measurement routines, have finite precision and are naturally corrupted by errors (random or coarse). These variables, when introduced into the control system, without the use of the Kalman Filter, carry all noise signals, reducing the performance of the control system. The aim of this work is to present the results of the Kalman Filter implementation in the industrial process, a propane generator column, controlled through a Predictive Controller, based on real data, in order to improve control performance and energy efficiency of this process.     This work consists of a Neural Network for modeling the relationship between the well head surface variables and the multiphase flows of the test separator vessels in the East Urucu Field (LUC). In practice, this relationship is obtained when each producing unit is aligned to a test separator for production estimation. Data were obtained when the well is aligned to a test separator. Those data are used for training a Neural Network of Radial Basis Function (NN - RBF). The goal is to make the NN - RBF to recognize the patterns of the wel l head variables (input RBF) and the phases flow in the separator (out RBF), through using, as the training set, the patterns obtained during the production test previously executed.

    Metaheurísticas populacionais: estudo comparativo na sintonia de parâmetros de controladores clássicos

    Population metaheuristics are techniques belonging to the field of Computational Intelligence and are based on natural models, have emerged as alternatives to solve optimization problems where the traditional techniques cannot be applied, or even where a solution model for the problem is not available with which the solution is found through empirical means. Given these capabilities to provide acceptable solutions in a timely manner for most of the complex problems encountered, metaheuristics has been applied successfully in most of the control system problems found in the literature. This work presents in general how the metaheuristics are being applied in the solution of control problems and performs a comparative study of performance among four algorithms bioinspirados in the tuning of the PID parameters. The following algorithms were used: Genetic Algorithm (AG), Genetic Algorithm in the Islands Model (AGMI), Bacterial Foraging Optimization (BFO) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). The results demonstrate that the algorithms present an excellent performance in the tuning of the PID producing response that met the project requirements. Different systems with different characteristics were used to evaluate the algorithms. The PSO was shown as the best algorithm among the four used, producing response in a faster time and presented lower deviated standard in the trials.

    This work has as main objective to make a study about a system of data communication, using the power network between equipment as the physical media in a harsh industrial environment. In this case, it was implemented a pilot project in an alumina refinery, located in Barcarena in Para state, in a bauxite stacking movable machine, which had a system of data communication via radio, where many communication failures occurred due to electromagnetic interference, RFI, etc., prejudicing the process of production of the refinery. As an alternative, it will be presented the use of a technology more immune to interference which can improve the performance of the system for communication between equipment. This is the technology PLC - Power Line Communication, which is full-duplex and uses OFDM modulation, which reduces the undesirable effect of interference. In the conclusion, some comments were made to the obtained results and the expected ones about the reliability of the technology and its use for future applications in several areas where this technical can be used.
