METHODS:Several ANA experts from university centers and private laboratories in different areas in Brazil joined the workshop in Goiânia on 2008 April 13 and 14 with the purpose of discussing and approving the recommendations for standardization, interpretation and use of the test by physicians. Commercial representatives of different ANA slide brands were also invited as listeners to the workshop. RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS: The 3rd Consensus emphasized the need for quality control in indirect immunofluorescent since there is a considerable heterogeneity of available microscopes and reagents. It also promoted adaptations in the previously approved terminology used to classify the different patterns and finally updated the clinical associations of the several patterns with the purpose of providing guidance for interpretation of the assay by clinical pathologists and assistant physicians.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Análise da qualidade de energia em sistemas de distribuição através de medição e fluxo de carga harmônico trifásico(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2005-02-10) BRANCHE, Marcos Nascimento; BEZERRA, Ubiratan Holanda; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6542769654042813; TOSTES, Maria Emília de Lima; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4197618044519148This work presents an analysis about the power quality, carried out in a real electrical energy distribution grid, considering different customers groups, located in the low voltage grid. The study was made in two steps. The first one through measurements registered in the transformers of the distribution grid supplied by CEA – Amapá’s Electricity Company, previously classified in groups as: commercial group, residential group and home-and-commercial group, identifying and characterizing the generators sources of harmonics generation in the system, making possible, this way, an analysis of the harmonic injection level in the distribution grid as well as the impacts these distribution sources of harmonic generation can provoke in the power quality offered by the CEA utility. The last stage of the study presents the use of a threephase harmonic load flow, where, considering the harmonic profile found out through the measurements carried out, a global evaluation of the system is provided.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Análise farmacognóstica das folhas de Arrabidaea chica (Humb. & Bonpl.) B. Verlt., Bignoniaceae(2010-05) ALVES, Mauro Sérgio Marques; MENDES, Patrizia Cardoso; VIEIRA, Janaína Gell de Pontes; OZELA, Eliana Ferreira; BARBOSA, Wagner Luiz Ramos; SILVA JÚNIOR, José Otávio CarréraArrabidaea chica (Humb. & Bonpl.) B. Verlt. is a Bignoniaceae widely used in the popular medicine as anti-inflammatory and astringent agent, and for some illnesses as intestinal colic, diarrhoeas, anaemia and diseases of the skin. Its biological properties and dye biosynthesis lead the species to be used in the cosmetic industry. The use of natural products of vegetal origin implies in pharmacognostic quality control and purity assays that compose the technical specifications of the material. Therefore, the anatomical description of mature and young leaves of A. chica was carried through the use of optic microscopy on histological preparations. The leaves are hipostomatic and dorsiventral with heterogeneous mesophile. In petiole, the epidermis is unistratified, it contains trachoma and it is endowed with thin cuticle. The pharmacopoeia assays included the determination of the grain size distribution of the plant drug, the determination of humidity and the total ashes, beyond the phytochemistry approach of tincture, to establish parameters for its quality control.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Análises cromatográficas por CLAE-DAD, termogravimétricas e morfo-anatômicas de amostras comerciais de Echinodorus macrophyllus (Kunth) Micheli (Chapéu-de-couro)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010) FREITAS, Cristian Barbosa de; BORGES, Fernanda Iikiu; BARBOSA, Wagner Luiz Ramos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1372405563294070For quality control of the commercial sample of Echinodorus macrophyllus were analyzed with botanical, pharmacognostic and physical-chemical properties. To achieve the anatomical cuts was rehydrated, sectioned with steel blade and fixed on slides semi-permanent. The sections were cleared in 20% NaClO and stained with astra blue-to-follow basic fuchsin. In cross section the epidermis is uniseriate with cells of rectangular shapes, heterodimensional, smooth and thin cuticle. For realization of thermogravimetry was used both drugs as solids at a heating rate of 5, 10 and 15 degrees Celsius. The chromatography was performed in HPLC and sample was obtained from column chromatography and eluted by gradient with methanol and acidic water. The palisade tissue consists of two layers of cells. The parenchyma spongy cells have thin walls, heterodimensional, different formats and well-developed intercellular spaces. The vascular bundles are collateral. The leaf is amphistomatic with stomata paracytic. Petiole in cross section, has a triangular to hexagonal. The epidermis is uniseriate with cells of polygonal shape, smooth walls, large amounts of aerenchyma which sometimes occur diaphragms. Samples of the leaf have characteristics of the species E. macrophyllus, but the anatomy of the petiole showed different structures from those described for the species, which belong to the genus Echinodorus, however suggests possible contamination of the material supplied with other plant species. Thermogravimetric analysis contributed significantly to establish parameters and characterize the sample.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Aquisição de serviços de TI como um processo de qualidade no fornecimento de software - estudo de caso de terceirização em medicina transfusional(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2009-12-22) MIRANDA, Arnaldo José de; OLIVEIRA, Roberto Célio Limão de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4497607460894318As a consequence of the continental dimensions of Brazil, the demand of specialized software solutions for organizations in underdeveloped areas require the distribution of operations of Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO) to other regions. As a result, the reducing of costs and the improvement of the acquisition services on Information Technology constitute two main topics nowadays, motivating the notion of multiple partners deeply involved in reciprocal operations and engaged in formal and informal activities such as outsourcing. The outsourced services are diverse and they include the development and maintenance of software through contracts made by organizations located in areas lacking demand for specialized software systems. It is known that the outsourcing of Software and Related Services, which includes the activities of the acquisition and management of the acquisition process are complex and necessary for organizations, especially with regard to the conditions involved in contract. In such cases, the exercise of governance has been an important instrument for, with outsourcing processes, to promote proper management of risk and return of investment. Thus, the process of buying or selling a software product in this environment is an activity that involves a lot of subjective concepts, mainly related to the gathering of products requirements. It is a major challenge when it comes to Modified Off-The-Shelf Products that undergo changes and additions to requirements for each new customer. In this context, aiming to adapt market requirements with the continuous demand of methods and guidelines for software acquisition improvement process, this text explores the key features about the contract, quality control, and the results of the relationships adopted in the implementation of outsourcing projects developed from a distance. We present the results of a case study conducted in a public company for transfusion medicine in the north of Brazil that adopted the outsourced software development process. To conclude, this text presents a discussion about the advantages and limitations of this work, and discusses some future directions of this research.Artigo de Evento Acesso aberto (Open Access) Avaliação da qualidade da base de dados de informações jornalísticas sobre a Amazônia: ciência, tecnologia e meio ambiente - BDIJAm(2006) SILVA, Ana Rosa dos Santos Rodrigues da; RODRIGUES, Anderson Luis Cardoso; SOUZA, Erika de Santana deDissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Avaliação externa da qualidade das baciloscopias para tuberculose, realizadas nas unidades laboratoriais públicas no município de Belém (Pará)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010-10-04) BRITO, Michele Lima de; LIMA, Karla Valéria Batista; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9795461154139260The sputum examination is the most widely used for diagnosis and control of tuberculosis (TB), as a method of simple execution, low cost, but has low sensitivity and specificity. For the effectiveness and efficiency of this method are met, it is necessary for the establishment and application of standard rules of execution and reading of slides. Thus, it is essential to know the quality of smear microscopy available in a laboratory network. The aim of this study was to evaluate the quality of sputum for diagnosis and control of TB conducted in Units Laboratory (UL) belonging to the public laboratories in Belém, Pará, in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Although some studies have described the phytochemical profile of S. globulifera, there are no studies to date, assessing the botanical properties, chemical properties (thermal analysis) and pharmaceuticals (spray dryer) of this plant. Thus, classic methodologies were used contained in pharmacopoeias and modern analytical methods. The results for the botanical characterization are: the epidermal cells of both sides of the sheet are heterodimensionais. The stomatal complex is anomocytic type found only on the abaxial surface. The petiole is presented coated plano-convex cells cutinização square and thick. The characterization of the powder are: particle size analysis classifies it as being rude. Loss on drying was 9% in total ash content was 4.3%, with the thermal analysis we observed in TG between 31 and 100°C at the first mass loss of 7.8% in the DTA 64°C and a DSC endothermic event at 84°C an endothermic event of 169 J/g, the spectroscopic profile in the region of the IV suggests the presence of phenolic compounds. While the results for the dye and dried extract are: bulk density of 0.97% g/mL, pH 6; percentage of dry weight of 9% in chemical prospecting verified the presence of saponins, reducing sugars and phenols and tannins to extract and some fractions, the thermal analysis TG was found in a mass loss of 6.55% from 28 to 100°C, only one event in DSC exotherm to 169°C, the spectroscopic profile in the region IV showed bands of strong absorption features of alcohols and phenols. In the study using a spray dryer, excipients that showed the best results were 40% aerosil more aerosil and microcrystalline cellulose in the proportion of 35:5. The extract showed antioxidant properties. The vegetable raw material was also tested for their antimicrobial and antifungal activity, providing positive results for some strains tested and shown bactericidal activity for fractions of iv ethyl acetate and hexane. The extract and the hexane fraction showed fungistatic activity, all these results contribute to future studies with this Plant, thereby increasing their value.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Caracterização farmacognóstica, química, físico-química e estudos preliminares de pré-formulação da Arrabidaea chica (Humb. & Bonpl.) B. Verlt., belonging to the family of Bignoniacae, which receives several denominations, and in the Amazon region is known popularly as pariri, that is widely used in popular medicine for the treatment of many diseases, such as skin infirmities caused by dermatitis and eczema. The use of natural products from vegetal origin requires the pharmaco-botanical quality control and pureness analysis which sets the species technical specifications. Therefore, it was made an anatomical description of the young and mature leaves of the plant from observations made at the optic microscope in histological cuts. The pharmacological tests included the determination of the granulometrical distribution of the plants powder, determination of the humidity purport and of total ashes and, about the dyeing, it was made pH, relative density and solids purport determinations, and also it was made the chemical prospection, the chromatographic profile by thin-layer chromatography (TLC) and the highperformance liquid chromatography (HPLC), besides the valuation of its microbial activity. To the powder as well as the dyeing of the A. chica observed the profiles by spectroscopy in the infrared region and thermal profiles by TGA and DTA. Some studies of preformulation were made by spectroscopy in the infrared region and thermal analysis (TGA and DTA) of the binary mixtures of the formula adjuvants suggested to spread the dye, with the purpose to evaluate possible incompatibilities between the dye and these elements. The results obtained evidenced that the A. chica dye demonstrated to adjust to the aim demanded, moreover it assured the compatibility to the tested adjuvants to constitute the proposed formula, once none clue of physical or chemical incompatibilities were observed among them. The studies provided relevant basis to the development of the proposed formula, seeking to obtain quick results with the wished accuracy.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Caracterização química e físico-química e estudos preliminares de planejamento da formulação fitoterápica semi-sólida contendo tintura de Calendula officinalis L.(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2008-12-29) NUNES, Kariane Mendes; SILVA JÚNIOR, José Otávio Carréra; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4437885351749994The phytotherapy is a form of medicinal therapy that has been grown noticeably over the years, however, despite the broad use of phytomedicines, the quality of these drugs is often poor and questionable. Among the several medicinal plants used as herbal medicine, the Calendula officinalis L. is known for its anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and healing effects. Thus, this present study aimed to enhance and consolidate the use of methods of pharmaceutical technology in the development of phytotherapeutic agents, through the completion of preliminary studies of the planning of a semi-solid formulation phytotherapic containing tincture of Calendula officinalis L., for the quality control of the stages of their development. In the physical characterization and physical chemistry of the dust and tincture of calendula were obtained farmacognóstics specifications consistent with the literature, and to establish the identity of the plant material through the detection of the chemical marker rutin by Thin-Layer Chromatography (TLC). Through the validation of the method, that presented parameters recommended by existing legislation, was given 463 μg/mL of rutin in tincture. The infrared (IR) spectra showed characteristics of rutin in the lyophilised extract, in addition to demonstrate the permanence of these bands after mixing with the excipients of the formulation. The thermoanalytic techniques confirmed the compatibility between the excipients and lyophilisate of calendula extract. In the preliminary assessment of the stability of the gel formulation remained stable during the cycles in greenhouse (45 ± 2 0C) and temperature (25 ± 2 0C). In the preliminary study of the gel, permeation tended to favor the permeation of total flavonoids as rutin for receiving phase. These results demonstrate the importance of employment of protocols for quality control of raw materials plant, besides the establishment of technological methods for the production of phytotherapic.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Controle de qualidade de bauxita: otimização do método via úmida para RxSiO2 e método alternativo via WDXRF para AvAl2O3(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-07-09) GOMES, Bruna Serrão; PAZ, Simone Patrícia Aranha da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5376678084716817In the metallurgical bauxite industry the quality control of the ore is performed by two chemical parameters, namely: available alumina (AvAl2O3) and reactive silica (RxSiO2), determined according to a procedure that simulates Bayer digestion in laboratory scale. They are parameters for prospective control, mining, processing and ore feeding in the Bayer process. For gibbsite bauxites, which are of interest in this work, AvAl2O3 is associated with the mineral-gibbsite and RxSiO2 to the mineral kaolinite, which is undesired and controlled in the Bayer process because it reacts with NaOH (leaching agent) to form Bayer sodalite, causing irreversible losses of NaOH - which means a considerable increase in the production cost of alumina. Bayer sodalite is a sodium aluminosilicate, insoluble in Bayer digestion conditions and therefore discarded along with the other insoluble bargain minerals in the red mud (insoluble solid residue of the Bayer process). In this context, we sought to: (1) optimize the Alcan method, aiming acid economy by proposing new acid dissolution conditions varying acid type (HCl, H2SO4 and HNO3), acid volume (20, 25 and 30 mL) and (2, 2.28 and 3.8 g), one of the steps for the determination of RxSiO2 and (2) proposing an alternative method for the determination of AvAl2O3 by WDXRF (X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometry by Length of Dispersive Wave) through mass balance in digestion. Secondary patterns of red mud were properly characterized (XRD, DTA and XRF) and calibrated bauxite and red mud analytical curves with optimal response for linearity and reproducibility. The acid dissolution study of sodalite Bayer showed potential savings in the volume of acid for 25 mL of HCl for ores with up to 45% RxSiO2 and 20 mL for ores with up to 9% of RxSiO2. The HNO3 and H2SO4 presented discrepancies between the contents dissolved in different contents of RxSiO2, whose main influence was the salt used for the effect of the common ion, since NaCl is used in the Alcan method for HCl. Therefore it is necessary to investigate the best salt for dissolution tests with these acids. The mass balance by mineralogical estimation proved more efficient for the future development of the alternative proposal for AvAl2O3 determination studied in this work.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Desenvolvimento de um método para caracterização do extrato hidroetanólico das folhas de Mikania lindleyana DC por Cromatografia Líquida de Alta Eficiência (CLAE)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011) OWITI, Alex Oselu; BARBOSA, Wagner Luiz Ramos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1372405563294070Mikania lindleyana DC (Asteraceae), vernacular “Sucuriju”, is a creeping, shrubby, perennial, evergreen plant, growing in the Amazon region where it is used as diuretic, anti-hypertensive, anti-inflammatory and anti-ulcerous medicine. The main aim of this study was to develop a method for characterization of hydro-ethanolic extract (tincture) from the leaves of M. lindleyana DC, using UV and High performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The hydro-ethanolic extract (tincture) was prepared based on Brazilian Pharmacopeia V, 2010 and its dry residue was submitted to phytochemical analyses, Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) and High Performance Liquid chromatography (HPLC). Among the substances observed in the phytochemical analysis was coumarin, alkaloids, amino acids, reducing sugars, phenols, tannins, steroids, terpenes, saponins and organic acids. TLC test was done by applying hexanic, chloroformic and ethyl acetate Fractions together with Crude hydro-ethanolic extract and aqueous solution of coumarin Aldrich® 0,1mg/ml on the same plate using toluene/dichloromethane/acetone (45:25:30) as the eluent system. The chromatogram was then sprayed with an alcoholic solution of KOH 5%, and then observed under UV light at 254nm and 365 nm, revealing a light green band at an RF-0.61 for chloroformic fraction, crude hydro-ethanolic extract and for coumarin samples. The HPLC analysis was conducted using methanol/water 53:47 as the eluent system. The chloroformic fraction(CL), coumarin and the crude hydro-ethanolic extract (CHE) showed peaks at Retention time around 6.00minutes and spectra with maximum absorptions between 270nm and 300nm.This clearly demonstrate the presence of coumarins in the samples (CL= 0.209mg/mL and CHE= 0.014mg/mL).Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Elaboração e caracterização do “Queijo Marajó”, tipo creme, de leite de búfala, visando sua padronização(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2006) FIGUEIREDO, Elaine Lopes; LOURENÇO JÚNIOR, José de Brito; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2919433679918544This work objected the elaboration and physical-chemical, microbiological and sensorial characterization of the “Marajó Cheese”, type cremate, processed with buffalo milk, besides evaluating shelf life, for 28 days and economical income. The two places were produced the derivates (Place A - University of the Para State and Place B - Dairy industry, Soure, Para). The milk and cheese were processed levels of humidity, lipid, protein, carbohydrate, caloric value, acid, pH, mesophylla bacteria, coliforms at 35ºC and 45ºC, mould and yeasts, Staphylococus aureus and Salmonella. Just in the cheese cholesterol and minerals analyses were accomplished. The sensorial analysis consisted of profile of characteristics and acceptance test. The similarity of the averages of the physical-chemical variables of the buffalo milk indicated that this was adapted for the elaboration of having standard derivate. Anyone sample of milk presented contamination for coliforms, Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella. The largest contamination was verified for aerobic bacteria (mesophyllas), mould and yeasts. The fat levels in the dry extract and of humidity they classified the derivate as fat and of average humidity. The “Marajó Cheese” came inside of the established standard for quality food, until the 21º day of storage. Most trans-mission systems use three phases: A, B and C. Hence, a short-circuit between phases A and B will be identified as AB". Considering the possibility of a short-circuit to ground" (T), the task is to classify a time series into one among eleven possibilities: AT, BT, CT, AB, AC, BC, ABC, ABT, ACT, BCT, ABCT. These faults are responsible for the majority of the distur-bances in electric power systems. Each short circuit is represented by a sequence (time-series) and both online (for each short segment) and offline (taking in account the whole sequence) classification are investigated. To circumvent the current lack of labeled data, the Alternative Transient Program (ATP) simulator is used to create a public comprehensive labeled dataset. Some works in the literature fail to distinguish between ABC and ABCT faults. Then, results differentiated these two faults types adopting preprocessing techniques, different front ends (e.g., wavelets) and learning algorithms (e.g., decision trees and neural networks) are apresented. The computational cost of the some classifiers during the test stage is investigated and the choosing parameters of classiffers is done by automatic model selection. The results indicate that decision trees and neural networks outperform the other methods.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estudos de pré-formulação e formulação de Heliotropium indicum (L.) DC (Boraginaceae)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010-01-14) COSTA, Russany Silva da; SILVA JÚNIOR, José Otávio Carréra; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4437885351749994Heliotropium indicum L. (Boraginaceae) is a shrub, reaches up to 70 cm high. It is known as “fedegoso” in the north and northeast of Brazil. Because of the biological potential of this species, this work aims to determine the quality parameters of the vegetable drug to the final product and evaluate the antimicrobial activity of the leaves of H. indicum L. The purpose of obtaining a phytotherapic formulation semisolid, we used the parameters of quality control physical, chemical and physicalchemical described in the Brazilian Pharmacopoeia and others literature. The vegetable drug was classified as coarse powder, showed values of loss on drying and total ash of 12.88% and 17.14%, respectively. The thermogravimetric analysis of the powder and the extract showed that both had good physical stability up to 180 °C. The spectra in the region IR showed an increase in the intensity of the absorption bands of the extract, which may relates to the extraction of chemical constituents of the cellular matrix. The prospecting chemical extract confirmed the presence of classes of secondary metabolites already reported in literature. The chloroform fraction suggests the presence of alkaloids by precipitation test with Dragendorff reagent. The TLC and HPLC showed a possible presence of the same substance in the alkaloidal and hexane fractions. The crude extract inhibited the growth of Staphylococcus aureus with halos of 12.5 mm ± 0.707 and 10.5 ± 0.707 mm for concentrations of 500 and 250 mg / mL, respectively. The physical mixtures of the extract with adjuvant pharmaceutical used to develop the phytotherapic formulation showed no physical incompatibility and no significant changes in the absorption profile of the compounds analyzed. The phytotherapic formulation semi-solid has a good stability after the preparation, after the submission of the gel by centripetal force and after the action of heat stress.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estudos de pré-formulação e formulação de Vismia guianensis (Aubl.) Choisy(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010-01-15) CAMELO, Sarah Regina Pereira; VASCONCELOS, Flávio; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3695753129639448; SILVA JÚNIOR, José Otávio Carréra; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4437885351749994The obtention and evaluation of a new herbal formulation from Vismia guianensis (Aubl.) Choisy was determined by parameters of quality control. Physical-chemical characterization in plant raw material dried and crushed, its extract of the tincture and semi-solid formulation with antimicrobial activity. For the characterizations specific parameters for herbal drugs contained in the Brazilian Pharmacopoeia 4th Ed were used, the thermal analysis: thermogravimetry, differential thermal analysis and differential scanning calorimetry and infrared and ultraviolet spectroscopy. The evaluation of the antimicrobial activity by the disk diffusion method in solid identified the sensitivity of S. aureus (ATCC 25923) to the dried extract dissolved in DMSO at concentrations of 500, 250, 125 and 62.5 mg / mL. The HPLC drawing the profile of the composition of the sub-fractions A and B from the ethyl acetate fraction of the tincture and showed the range of maximum absorption at 290 nm similar to the maximum capacity of emodin being used a reference standard and an external marker. The method validation was performed by ultraviolet spectrophotometry, demonstrating a selective method, linear, repeatable and robust. Thermal analysis showed possible incompatibilities between the binary mixture of the extract of the tinsture with hydroxyethylcellulose and propylene, then obtaining non-homogeneous gel due to precipitation of proteins, triggered by the polyphenol-protein interaction. A preliminary evaluation of the stability of the formulation obtained remained within the normal parameters, show results within acceptable limits for the centrifuge tests, thermal stress and organoleptic characteristics.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) III Consenso Brasileiro para Pesquisa de Autoanticorpos em Células HEp-2: perspectiva histórica, controle de qualidade e associações clínicas(2009-06) FRANCESCANTONIO, Paulo Luiz Carvalho; ANDRADE, Luis Eduardo Coelho; CRUVINEL, Wilson de Melo; ARAÚJO, Flávia Ikeda e; DELLAVANCE, Alessandra; GABRIEL JÚNIOR, Alexandre; NUCCITELLI, Barbara; TALIBERTI, Ben-Hur Braga; VON MÜHLEN, Carlos Alberto; BICHARA, Carlos David Araújo; SANTOS, Cláudio Henrique Ramos dos; BUENO, Cleonice; YANO, Cristiane Martinez; MANGUEIRA, Cristóvão Luis Pitangueira; CARVALHO, Darlene Gonçalves; CARDOSO, Elizângela; BONFÁ, Eloísa Silva Dutra de Oliveira; RASSI, Gustavo Gabriel; MUNDIM, Hugo Mendonça; BENDET, Izidro; RÊGO, Jozelia; VIEIRA, Lisiane Maria Enriconi dos Anjos; BARBOSA, Maria Ordália Ferro; SUGIYAMA, Mitiko; SANTIAGO, Mittermayer Barreto; BARRETO, Natasha Slhessarenko Fraife; SILVA, Nilzio Antônio da; JARACH, Renata; SUDA, Roberto; LEVY, Roger Abramino; SAMPAIO, Silvia Oliveira; NEVES, Suzane Pretti Figueiredo; SANTOS, Wilton Silva dos; NÓBREGA, Yanna Karla de MedeirosOBJECTIVE: The Third Brazilian Consensus for Autoantibodies Screening in HEp-2 Cells (ANA) had as purpose the evaluation of difficulties in the accomplishment of the 2nd Consensus recommendations that took place in the year of 2002, the discussion of strategies for quality control of the assay and the discussion of an update of the clinical associations of the several immunofluorescent patterns. METHODS: Several ANA experts from university centers and private laboratories in different areas in Brazil joined the workshop in Goiânia on 2007 April 13 and 14 with the purpose of discussing and approving the recommendations for standardization, interpretation and use of the test by physicians. Commercial representatives of different ANA slide brands were also invited as listeners to the workshop. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The 3rd ANA Consensus emphasized the need for quality control in indirect immunofluorescent assays since there is a considerable heterogeneity of available microscopes and reagents. It also promoted adaptations in the previously approved terminology used to classify the different patterns and finally updated the clinical associations of the several patterns with the purpose of providing guidance for interpretation of the assay by clinical pathologists and assistant physicians.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Judicialização da regulação e perda da qualidade do fornecimento de energia elétrica em áreas periférica(2013-04) MONTEIRO, Maurílio de Abreu; RAVENA, Nírvia; CONDE, Cláudio Luciano da RochaThis study analyzes the results from a structural change in the regulation of the public electricity service implemented as a national reform in the late 1990s. We compared the quality of the electricity supply for two companies, one private and one public, operating in the northern Brazil. The quality indicators for the supplied energy deteriorated for the private company, and once penalized by the regulatory agency, the company systematically judicialized the punitive processes. This strategy was not observed in the actions taken by the public company. The possibility for institutional judicialization occurs because these agencies are dependent on judicial frameworks, which operate within a logic that is structurally different than managerial logic. We concluded that judicialization creates the opportunity for procrastination-based behaviors within the context of the regulatory framework for public services, thereby impeding the public strategy of regulation.
