Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Apuração, desinformação e whatsapp na rotina jornalística: os atravessamentos da pandemia de Covid-19 nas redações de TV de Belém (PA)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-06-02) SILVA, George Luiz Miranda da; CUNHA, Elaide Martins da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3778190981135428; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7723-7055Like other activities, Journalism also needed to adapt to the so-called “new normal” with the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic. WhatsApp - which was already widely used by TV stations in Belém (PA) - became even more strategic for the production of television news after the start of the health crisis. Producers began to accumulate functions and use the app even more in information traffic and in contact with the public, characters, specialists and official sources. In view of this, the purpose of this research was to investigate what are the procedures adopted by these professionals to filter and verify the information that reaches the newsrooms, through WhatsApp, after March 2020, the month in which Pará registered the first case of Covid-19 and the firsts restrictive measures were implemented in the State. This work also proposes to indicate the profile of the professionals who are part of the journalistic production staff of the TV stations in the capital of Pará, including gender, age group and time of profession, in addition to mapping the perception of these professionals about the fight against disinformation, the challenges of producing and the defense of Journalism when the press is suffering so many social and institutional attacks. The research is supported by the concepts of Information Disorder (WARDLE and DERAKHSHAN, 2017), Participatory Culture (JENKINS, 2009), Interactivity (LEMOS, 1997), among others. To achieve the objectives of this study, a qualitative approach methodology was adopted and online interaction application techniques were used, which included 28 professionals from six stations in Belém, in addition to semi-structured interviews and participant observation. The survey results indicate that 100% of those who use WhatsApp do it in their work routine and most of them feel responsible for combating misinformation, although some were in doubt whether they have already aired a content without proper investigation. The most common checking procedures among producers are: asking the complainant for more information, researching the matter on the internet and asking official sources for a position. As for the profile of professionals, the study shows that the production staff of the stations is formed, mostly, by young professionals with little career time. The survey also pointed out that professionals face conflicts in carrying out their work, mainly due to the accumulation of functions and the precariousness of the profession.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Cinema como escola de vida: a propósito das películas de ficção científica(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2022-02-18) OLIVEIRA NETO, José Augusto de Jesus de; SILVA, Carlos Aldemir Farias da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7226908910873590; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5463-1316The language of cinema presents possibilities that allow us to evoke the human fascination for images, something we’ve inherited from photography itself, and it also provides a multiple, collective and individual experience when we think about the environment where it occurs, be it a movie theater or the screen of a smartphone. These qualities ignite in us the identification-projection, a process through which we project our own selves on the characters who, in their turn, come alive through us. This work reflects on how cinema, through film, promotes learning that goes beyond the action of making school content and scientific concepts didactic, when we amplify the conceptual expression of Edgar Morin of cinema as a school for life. Such a reflection is carried out through bibliographical research starting from Edgar Morin’s studies on cinema and the Brazilian post-graduate scientific production on the topic, especially as it concerns science fiction in the teaching of school science. Eventually, discussing the movie Contagion (2011), we endeavor to understand, through reflections which seek to provide answers to the covid-19 sanitary crisis, what the cinema school of life can teach us through the narrative of a pandemic scenario which projects realities based on the imagery of a future that has already arrived.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O consumo da corda do Círio de Nazaré na pandemia da Covid-19: experiências simbólicas nos sentidos (i)materiais(Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing, 2022-08) FERREIRA, Gabriel da Mota; VIEIRA, Manuela do CorralThis article analyzes the consumption of the Círio de Nazaré’s rope, a religious and cultural manifestation in the city of Belém, Pará, based on the experiences and interactions with this object during the Covid-19 pandemic (2020-2021). Thus, the objective is to understand the rope’s symbolic consumption in the context of suspended processions in which it is traditionally present. Through the notions of consumption ritual as a cultural practice and the material culture that builds experiences, it was noticed that the suspension of processions evidenced the constitutive character of the object-symbol Círio’s rope in the in the experience of the subjects, so that its absence in the streets influenced the own perception and experience of consumption of the festivity as a social experience that is usually shared annually in the city of Belém.
