(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-03-31) BAHIA, Carmosina Maria Calliari; MIRANDA, Cybelle Salvador; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3254198738703536
This research aims to analyze the memory and daily life at Magalhães Barata Avenue, using the method of Street Ethnography, used as a resource for the preservation of the cultural heritage of the area. This proposal is based on the experience of the researcher and architect of the Goeldi Museum, for over 30 years, which aroused looking at the changes in the former Independence Avenue architecture in this time interval. The choice of the ethnographic method provided a qualitative and closest approach of the avenue residents‘, allowing us to an analysis of the interactions, the memory of the residents, the daily lives of passersby, traditional activities of formal and non-formal working, from the first decades of the XX century. During the immersions in the avenue, we use the interviews to record the historical and affective memory of the passerby, who works and who lives on the avenue, as well as we use the photographic record as a way of highlighting the transformations in the architecture. In response to the guiding research question "How to preserve the architectural diversity of the Avenue, considering the changes that have occurred and the social dynamics of the place?" We conclude that the knowledge gained from the incursions in the field will allow the appreciation of the cultural heritage found in the stretch where a marked change in the customs and local ambience is visible. Through actions adapted by cultural institutions located in the Avenue, we can make the daily activities of the streets, where the human relationships are found, work and friendship ones, as well as routine activities that have the testimony of personal and social events. This is the rescue of cultural memory, an important factor for preservation of the identity of the place.

Arquitetura residencial eclética em Belém do Pará (1870-1912): Um estudo da gramática das fachadas
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-08-30) FARIA, Maria Beatriz Maneschy; MIRANDA, Cybelle Salvador; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3254198738703536
In this research we studied the compositional grammar from the facade of the eclectic residential architecture of Belem, on the formal aspects of its elements, through relations of symmetry, rhythm, proportions, layout, dimensions and use of colors in each of its parts. The study is restricted to the type of residential basement and a deck in specimens without definite authorship. The research also considers the importance of facades in construction of collective identity, based on a sense of belonging in the community. Therefore, using the ethnographic method in the apprehension of memory, since the interventions historic preservation often disregards the need to address the conflict between the old (original stylistic features of the building) and the new (current needs or preferences ), an old dilemma between permanence and change. To conduct the analysis, we created three categories of facades: pure classicist facades, classical facades with eclectic elements and eclectic facades. By considering the facade classicist pure source eclectic facade, it was preferred to the polychromatic geometric and analyzes a) Comparative analysis over time of iconographic images of the search, b) compositional analysis of the relationships proportions, dimensions and arrangements of façade elements based on proportionality golden c) Visual observation of chromatic patterns found from prospecting pictorial. From this study it was possible to say that the pure classicist facades have a limited vocabulary in the composition of its grammar, with well defined rules, but the projects in its origin, do not obey the compositional principles learned, which leads us to conclude that based on imitation of other works, possibly without relying on the guidance of professional architecture. As the ratio of chromatic ranges between the various elements of the composition of their facades, we identify the existence of a principle chromatic. We believe that the model is not found chromatic complex and not contrasts, but nuances of tone, used with meanings. This study contributes to the understanding of the eclectic civil architecture of Belem.

(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-12-03) CORRÊA, João Nazareno Pereira; BASTOS, Carlos Augusto de Castro; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5957760591235451
This text deals with the steps taken towards a sociocultural cartography of the Jurunas neighborhood (Belém-Pará), according to the cognitive point of view of students from two classes of Fundamental Maior (8th and 9th Years), from Escola Vereador Gonçalo Duarte. Research / teaching strategy, mainly, focused on moving elements of the local history of this urban space and its cultural heritage with the knowledge of school history, through the use and analysis of mental maps, textual productions and photographic records formulated by them subjects / students. The application of this mapping process or didactic sequence, emerged from the favorable meeting of my teaching experiences with the scientific theory of History Teaching, especially from the reflections emanating from the perspective of local history, the plural notion of heritage and important aspects of the field Cartography. That said, I can say that this research effort was able to glimpse the gestures that such students practice to territorialize the spaces in which they live and, with that, offered the possibility to unveil new scenarios of living heritage or in continuous movement of this southern region of the Capital of Pará.

The object of this research is the Ver-o-Peso Fair, located in the city of Belém do Pará, as a popularly activated territorial heritage. That is, it intends to understand the fair as a territory where sociocultural practices and popular memorials, ancestral knowledge and doings, maintained by subjects historically subalternized by the processes of territorial formation in Latin America, resist; and to investigate what risks this heritage-territory faces in the face of urbanization, especially the processes of global patrimonialization. The following objectives are proposed: to identify and analyze which elements and practices of Amazonian culture give notoriety to the Ver-o-Peso Fair, as a popularly activated territorial heritage facing risks in the face of the global patrimonialization process; to identify who are the subjects that activate and how the popular activation of the territorial heritage of the Ver-o-Peso Fair is constituted; and to identify which risks the territorial heritage faces in the face of global patrimonialization. Thus, we start from the dialectical relationship between the urban economy, global patrimonialization and activated territorial heritage, to investigate the fair from the problem-questions: Which elements and practices of the Amazonian culture consecrate the Ver-o-Peso Fair as a popularly activated territorial heritage, facing risks in the face of the global patrimonialization process? And more specific questions, such as: Who are the subjects that activate the territorial heritage of the Ver-o-Peso Fair and resist the processes of global patrimonialization? How is the popular activation of the territorial heritage of the Ver-o-Peso Fair, faced with the process of global patrimonialization? What are the risks faced by the popular cultural elements and practices that make Feira do Ver-o-Peso a territorial heritage in face of global patrimonialization? The geographical approach to the research is guided by the historical-dialectical materialist method, starting from the inter-scalar dimension of the universal – particular – singular movement of contemporary urbanization, in order to understand how the mechanisms of global patrimonialization are particularized in the Central Area of Belém and land on a social fact represented by a territory appropriated secularly by sociocultural relations. In this way, the cultural dimension of the territory is privileged, whose thesis is based on the perspective of heritage utopisms, as a theoretical-methodological proposal focused on the Latin American reality, seeking to understand the spatial contradictions and social vulnerabilities generated by the universal Eurocentric logic of global urbanization/patrimonialization particularized in the Ver-o-Peso Fair. And at the same time, capture elements and values of spatial order that activate and highlight the Fair as a territory guardian of memories and ancestral social and cultural practices. The research found that heritage utopianisms are already underway at the fair, ratifying the thesis that: the Ver-o-Peso fair is an Amazonian heritage-territory popularly activated and fundamental for the maintenance of ancestral life, from the metropolis. It is represented by the singularities of handicrafts, herbs and medicinal remedies, typical spices such as Maniva and Tucupi, and Afro-religious elements and practices. However, it is impacted by contemporary urbanization mechanisms, such as: urban requalification projects and heritage policies aimed at the tourist market, which trigger risks of re-signification and loss of identity. Thus, the thesis brings a contribution to the debate of the contradictions linked to heritage, to rethink new proposals for preservation, from the existential perspective of the subjects that compose it.

(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-12-17) CARDOSO, Jesimar Miranda; BRITO, Adilson Júnior Ishihara; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5217224392697515; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9072-8956
The present work presents a proposal to use the concepts and approaches of research and reflection on local history and historical and cultural heritage in the classroom, aiming to create in elementary and high school students a historical awareness about the relationship of heritage - institutionalized or not - with their experiences as historical subjects, in addition to developing in these young people a self-recognition in history and an orientation towards the practical life of Vigia and its communities. It is also intended that the student himself is able to identify and interpret, in his living spaces, elements (material and immaterial) that, in his view of the world, are characterized as heritage. The research and its practical application with the students took place both in the municipality of Vigia-PA, where I reside and develop part of my professional activities as a history teacher, more specifically at the Santa Rosa State Elementary and High School, located in the same village. The name, which, being located in the rural area and receiving students from adjacent communities, allowed the focus of the work to be directed not only to the urban area, but mainly to the rural environment of the city. It should be noted that the municipality has an institutionalized cultural heritage with which, however, our students seem to have little identification, a fact that motivated the development of this work. As a product of the research carried out, didactic support material was developed, intended for use in classes on cultural heritage.

(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-08-30) TOSCANO, Thais Zumero; SANJAD, Thais Alessandra Bastos Caminha; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8950586647715771
The mosaic is an ancient art which impacts the history of civilizations. The city of Belém po-sesses a beautiful, peculiar and rare acquis. For being so uncommon, it is not regarded as an autonomous or as well integrated art. This fact becomes visible due to the lack of biblio-graphical data and registries on the theme. This research aims to demonstrate such facts by means of a historical contextualization and a literature review that covers techniques, con-servation, common damages and frequent pathological conditions. The main focus of this study is the mosaic collection of the city of Belém /Pará. It identifies techniques, typologies, datings, physical constitutive characteristics of the employed materials. Materials and me-thods are presented starting from the samples selected. After the analysis of these samples with their features and physical chracateristics by optic microscopy the study comes to its final part, the conclusions based on the necessary preservation of this cultural asset which integrates the memory of the city.

In the Amazon, the advent of “new” social movements aimed at collective identities have demonstrated changes in the political organization of so-called traditional peoples and communities. After the experience of struggle against the cutting down of babaçu palms trees and the right to land in the late 1980s, mobilized agroextractivist women start to position themselves in the political sphere forming their own representative organizations, claiming rights based on recognition of the intrinsic ways to “create”, to “make” and to “live” of this group and procedurally triggering the collective identity like babaçu coconut breakers. Therefore this master’s thesis aims to analyze the process of (re) construction of collective identity babaçu coconut breakers, checking their association with the establishment of cultural heritage, with an emphasis on its current stage. The research was conducted in the Povoado de Ludovico, located in the countryside of the city of Lago do Junco, State of Maranhão, where it was found that the social and political identity and coconut breakers of the policy is based on the struggle for the preservation of babaçu palm trees and knowledge and inherited doings, which constitute their cultural heritage in the lived experience in the past and present time, the context in which the experience of children and young people, sons and daughters of coconut breakers, are also bringing new questions about the redefinition of collective identity and assets under which it is built.

Rua Dr. Assis: uma incursão pela paisagem patrimonial transfigurada da Cidade Velha, Belém do Pará
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-03-19) TUTYIA, Dinah Reiko; MIRANDA, Cybelle Salvador; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3254198738703536
This research investigate Dr. Assis street landscape transformation – located in Cidade Velha neighborhood of Belém – based on rereading of buildings its classified as "renewal" by the Law 7.709 of 1994. This law is responsible for Belém’s protection and preservation Historic, Artistic, Environmental and Cultural Heritage. The “renewal” category fits the properties with no interest of preservation, which can be replaced by new ones. Thus these lots in the historic center, “opens custody” to the dynamics of transformation, a city's intrinsic characteristic. The transfigured landscape which escapes from the “cultural heritage aesthetic” consolidates a new “Cidade Velha” – Belém’s genesis district – which along with Campina are the city’s Historic Center. Based on street ethnography method, an incursion is made into this landscape, which keeps in its, the building’s materiality and in the memories of the local residents and traders, the transformer process of the protected urban fabric. Thus, the space (re) cognition, aims to bring out the material-immaterial relation, eclipsed by the legislation category of 1994.
