Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Dermatite por lambedura em bovinos no estado do Pará(2011-02) BARBOSA NETO, José Diomedes; OLIVEIRA, Carlos Magno Chaves; ALBERNAZ, Tatiane Teles; SILVA, Natália da Silva e; SILVEIRA, José Alcides Sarmento da; REIS, Alessandra dos Santos Belo; SOUSA, Melina Garcia Saraiva deA condition of 13 cattle from 10 farms in six districts in the state of Pará, Brazil, characterized by ulcerative skin wounds was studied. The lesions were observed in regions of the body to which the cattle had access with their own tongue; the animals licked the wounds frequently. Epidemiological studies, pathological findings and the differential diagnosis indicate that the dermatitis is caused by licking. The wounds healed after restraining the head of the animals that then were unable to lick themselves.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Dermatitis after contact with Pheropsophus sp (Coleoptera, Carabidae, Brachininae) in the Pará State, Brazilian Amazon(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-12) PARDAL, Pedro Pereira de Oliveira; SILVA, Cristiane Tárcis Cunha da; MONTEIRO, Wuelton Marcelo; GADELHA, Maria Apolonia da CostaDermatitis caused by bombardier beetles is rarely reported. During medical consultation, the physician observed that the injury site was brown and discolored. The patient complained of localized burning pain and blurred vision. The beetle responsible for the injury was identifi ed as Pheropsophus sp. Administered treatment included cleaning with saline, analgesics, and topical hydrocortisone acetate and the patient was discharged without complaints.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Leucodermia sifilítica: expressão rara do secundarismo diagnosticada por exame histopatológico(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010-08) MIRANDA, Mario Fernando Ribeiro de; BITTENCOURT, Maraya de Jesus Semblano; LOPES, Igor da Costa; CUMINO, Shirley do Socorro MagalhãesBiopsies are occasionally necessary to confirm the diagnosis of secondary-stage syphilis, currently achieved by clinico-serological correlation. However, histopathologic examination may offer clues that can lead to the diagnosis of the disease in previously unsuspected or unusual cases. We report the case of a 35-year-old male patient with vitiligo-like lesions for two years, whose diagnosis of syphilis was suggested only after histopathologic examination. Some microscopic aspects observed are discussed and compared to data from the literature.
