The concern with routine maintenance is usually related to a failure of process or equipment (corrective maintenance). The systematic control of maintenance and operation of machinery and equipment is considered a high point for reducing costs and increasing operational readiness for strategic planning. As a result, it has been in service area, a large number of methods, software models and management tools available. Among them, two methods stand out: the RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance and Reliability Centered Maintenance) of U.S. origin, and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance and Total Productive Maintenance), of Japanese origin. Thus, the main objective of this work is the systematic study of strategic planning and planned maintenance to reduce failures and defects that occur in equipment from the proposed methodologies by leading authors in the area of strategic planning and maintenance, in order to propose improvements in the use of this tool. Based on the theoretical (Amendola, Berndt, Coimbra, Right, Coser, Nakajima, Mendes Moreira, Moubray, Oliveira, Kaplan and others) studied, could begin to understand the planning of the management of planned maintenance of the Tucuruí Hydroelectric Plant and their practices in relation to the performance practices of reference and key strategic indicators highlighted by these authors. This research allowed to evaluate the current procedure adopted at Tucuruí is aligned with all the thinkers studied by simply spreading the best of all concepts hieraquics between all levels of planning and execution.

Since 2004, the regulatory rules in the Brazilian Electricity Sector has changed. The agents who act in this market have experienced a rise in new business disputes, showing an increase in competitiveness. The availability of physical assets and maintenance costs are presented as key points of these agents competitiveness. This work aims to present a methodology of Availability Analysis of Repairable Systems during the design or operational phases, covering the measurement of maintenance costs versus the acquisition costs to an expected performance level. The suggested methodology takes the System Block Diagram and exports to the Successful Tree Analysis format, composed by logic gates "AND" and "OR" where each represents a subsystem in the main system. The analyst may re-evaluate the system's topology, adding or removing redundancies in order to adjust the performance to the requirements of availability, acquisition and maintenance costs. As results of this work were identified gaps in the standards rules which defines how to control the assets performance, was established a systematic integration of modeling techniques for reliability and availability, performance indicators of Scheduled Maintenance were incorporated, different scenarios were modeled for an Oil Circulation System and was applied to an entire Hydraulic Generating Unit by modeling the critical components in the main systems.

Nowadays the Brazilian electricity sector is structured on the availability of power plants, substations and transmission lines. By applying the rules of the new model of the Brazilian electric sector, generation and transmission companies began to be subjected to mechanisms that penalize the unavailability caused by forced or scheduled shutdowns, of your assets. To avoid the application of these mechanisms, and other penalties, which cause great damage, it is necessary that the maintenance process ensures the availability and reliability of equipment and facilities. This paper proposes a method of production management, also directed to the elimination of the existing losses in generation and transmission of electric energy, adapted from TPM – Total Productive Maintenance. The development of the method is based on the study of the application of TPM in generation and transmission plants of Eletronorte. The proposed method should promote the management quality not only in operate and maintenance (O&M), but also in all process that can impact the availability of generation and transmission assets.

Tolerância a falha em redes ópticas de nova geração
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2006-08-21) SOUZA, Jaime Viana de; ABELÉM, Antônio Jorge Gomes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5376253015721742
Availability is of considerable concern for network desingners due to the increasing importance of the information that pass through them, motivating the providers of telecommunications services to improve the capacity and the qyality of their backbones. Optical networks that use WDM (“Wavelength Division Multiplexing”) usually present control plane based in GMPLS (Generalized Multiproptocol Label Switching) architecture, because it provides one batter adequation between IP protocol and the optical layer. This work makes a comparative study, between the machanisms used for the traditional optical networks and the said ones of the next generation. It considers the adoption of different mechanism of fault tolerance in function of the traffic model, through simulations, in the networks implemented by SDH/SONET architecture and simulations in computer of the main mechanisms offered for the multilayer model IP-GMPLS/WDM to provide protection and restoration of connectivity in nexte-generation optical networks, being objectified to authenticate our proposal.
