    (2000) SILVA, Orlando Sampaio
Herbert Baldus was a German-Brazilian anthropologist who played an important role in the development of anthropological research and knowledge in Brazil. His scientific work was intimately linked to his own life, spent mostly in this country, where he devoted himself to teaching, to research and scientific divulgation, as well as to the establishment of an official Indian policy bent on the preservation of indigenous populations. His theoretical contributions ranged from initial investigations on material culture and non-material culture to functional and structural approaches, while he also established the foundations for the study of cultural change of Indian societies in contact situations.

The argumentation is constructed by actors narratives such as: old residents, new residents, business men, patrimony technician, so by the images reading which help to tell the districts history and to tell how is it saw as a heritage. The ethnographic method and the semiotic were the reading guides for the written spoken and visual materials, helping to the researchers position as an older habitant, architect and plastic artist. Drawing a map with the culture concepts in the Cidade Velhas district, since the residents point of view to the planers of Feliz Lusitânia Project, this work is as open view of the theme heritage in Cidade Velha, which revels contradiction between the definition of patrimony of the patrimony technician and the social groups.

Analyze how the city of Belém, as a subjective territory, crosses directly or indirectly the identity processes of Drags Demônias, the cultural group studied here, was the main objective of the research entitled EKOAOVERÁ: A Study on Territoriality in the Identity Processes of Drags Demônias. For that, a bibliographic study was made about the montação with a great emphasis on the theorists Roger Baker and Carlos Figari, followed by a conceptual survey and a review of terms that speak with the montação, including the studies of Judith Butler, Berenice Bento, Anna Paula Vencato among others. To deepen the research, the montação was studied as a method of body alteration based on the study of Renata Kamla on Contemporary Masking. The methodological action was based on interviews with twenty - three artists from the cultural segment, through a structured interview proposal by Maria Cecília Minayo. To finalize the methodological procedure, the data were crossed by the ethnomethodology approach, resulting in crossings of three instances of analysis: personalities, concepts and territorialities. The final analysis confirms the hypothesis that territoriality is directly related to these identity constructions.

Folia de São Benedito: um estudo de mudança em uma manifestação religiosa na comunidade do Silêncio do Matá
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2008-10) VIEIRA, Daniel Hudson Carvalho; FURTADO, Lourdes Gonçalves; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1828475659148260
This study deals with structural changes associated with religious manifestations, in particular one known as the Folia de São Benedito, held in Silêncio do Matá, a community of Obidos, in Pará. It is shown here that Folia de São Benedito exhibits classic properties of popular Catholicism. However, based on actual observations, it is argued that the changes observed in this particular Folia is not only driven by exogenous factors, but also orquestrated by community members, yielding a connotative application of its original meaning.

The dissertation discusses the development of practices of sociability and a network of commitments among members of an art world (BECKER, 1982) made possible in popular song, as well as forms of cultural production and circulation of such goods in the city of Belém do Pará, Brazil, understanding it as a frontier area ( HANNERZ, 1997) in the eighties. For this, I turned to the musical scene category (STRAW, 1991) as an input for socio-cultural analysis of these occurrences. This is an anthropological study of a historical theme (FREHSE, 2005; SAHLINS, 1999) which is divided into three chapters. The first, entitled "An expanding city and its musical culture in process" presents a characterization of the transformations of the urban scenery of Belém do Pará in the early 1980s and the foundations of a scene of popular song. Thus, two key events are studied concerning for the formation of this music scene: the Feira Pixinguinha in Belem and Projeto Jayme Ovalle. The second chapter is named “The production of identity by song discursive practices of popular music artists in Belém in the 1980s”. The focus in it is the relationship of place with the making of the song and its meaning, the idea of a song as the object-value, the formation of the association of musicians called CLIMA and a study of some emblematic songs of the eighties scene. The third chapter, "Practices of sociability and ‘places of Popular Song’ in Belém do Pará eighties" studies social spaces of popular song as places where they produced and consumed to that cultural commodities and place to artists and audiences this musical mode in the city - such as bars, theaters, concert halls - in the characteristics of the urban environment. Also, it presents a view on the song festivals and recordings as cultural commodities as projeto (VELHO, 2008) for the category to the artists of music scene.

Psicologia social e etnografia: histórico e possibilidades de contato
    (2015-06) SOUZA, Maurício Rodrigues de
Ethnography can be defined as a method of qualitative research that aims to gain an integrative description and understanding of sociocultural phenomena presented in particular groups or communities, according to the terms and attitudes of the group's members. Specifically following this simultaneously technical and ethical dimension of ethnography, this article mainly intends to promote a historical reconstitution of the reappropriation of this modality of field studies by both American and Brazilian social psychologists. Therefore, it focuses on a specific time and institution: the first half of the twentieth century and the Chicago School of Sociology, which is considered here through aspects of the lives and works of three of its principal contributors: Robert Park, George Mead, and Donald Pierson. In conclusion, the article debates some of the specificities of ethnographic practice, and bringing together past and present, defends the relevance of its use in present psychosociological research.

The "marajoara" ceramic produced in the district of Icoaraci (Belém), inspired in ceramics founded in Marajó Island, is one of the symbols that define the identity of the people in Pará today. Through government incentives, this artcraft production won public recognition, contributing to a national project survival started in the Imperial period, which recommended the creation of a Brazilian identity supported in the Indigenous’s image as an outstanding referent. Reflecting about the construction of identities from a material object of a popular culture, involves asking questions and reflections about concepts such as tradition, culture, identity, multiculturalism, cultural circularity, heterogeneity or hybridization. These concepts whose theoretical informations are found in the Canclini, Ginzburg, Milton Santos, Ulpiano Meneses and Marcos Areválo’s works contribute to the development of a new understanding about the identity of the people in Pará from their material culture: the traditional ceramic from Icoaraci.
