Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Acordos de pesca: desafios de implementação e consolidação em áreas de várzea do município de Gurupá, Pará, Brasil(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010-08-03) COSTA, Pâmela Melo; MCGRATH, David Gibbs; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4373475491613670Considering the context in which many decisions Amazon to protect and conserve the environment for the region often arise vertically, with no participation of the users of natural resources, local community in decision-making processes, and end up forgetting the empirical experiences this population is that they did this study. Through the methodological techniques: direct observation, application of semi-structured interviews, analysis of monitoring data sheets, we tried to look at the context of life gurupaense, especially those living on the floodplains of the municipality, and has considered agroextractivists activity fishing source of protein, income and who has been practicing in a shared mechanism of the Fisheries Agreement as a way of managing this activity. The research focuses on the Community Management of Shrimp implementation process and consolidate the participation of experts, NGOs and financing projects, as well as the social, economic and environmental conditions in periods in which there was or not the work of that outside mediation. The study showed that participation of outside mediation stimulated organizational processes and provided the local collective action, which even with the termination of support, self-management and community force is passed on to younger generations, but the study also shows that the challenge best indicators for the environmental levels is required technical support to promote scientific research in the field of Population Dynamics of Fish Stocks.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Avaliação e comparação de projetos comunitários de ostreicultura localizados no nordeste paraense(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2009) HOSHINO, Priscila; MCGRATH, David Gibbs; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4373475491613670The aquaculture is being characterized as strategy to minimize the reduction of the fish. At Pará, the oyster farming was implanted in 2003 as an opportunity regarding to occupation and profits generation at Northeastern of this state. In 2005 this initiative was expanded to other communities with different levels of familiarity with the mollusk, regarding to the support either on the researches in this sector or on the extractive activity. This research evaluated the communitarian oyster farming performance in the state of Pará. It was studied three projects with at least two years of implementation and with either different levels of preservation and oyster harvest activity. The implementation of the firsts cultivations occurred simultaneously and in a similar way regarding to institutional support, however with different performances. The main producer issues are to obtain the license to develop this activity and also the necessity to take care about the tide. It is necessary to provide more detailed feasibility studies, with more commitment from the side of the interested institutions in order to perform the actions they are supposed to work out, providing events where it will be possible to spread the information and discuss the aquaculture bottlenecks at the state of Pará, as well to provide a consolidated partners network to prepare the groups regarding to organization, activity management and helping in the market access. The most part of the oyster famers are small producers, artisanal fishermen that found a way to manage their families via oyster farming. However, the oyster farming is a secondary activity to them, once it is still not enough to support their necessities. Nevertheless, several farmers already declared once they manage how to increase the oyster production they will be exclusively dedicated to this activity.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Biologia reprodutiva e dinâmica populacional de Hypancistrus zebra Isbrücker & Nijssen, 1991 (Siluriformes, Loricariidae), no rio Xingu, Amazônia brasileira(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-05-25) ROMAN, Ana Paula Oliveira; ROCHA, Rossineide Martins da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4371300451793081; ISAAC, Victoria Judith; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3696530797888724Hypancistrus zebra is a specie used with ornamental purposes, endemic and rare in the Middle - Lower Rio Xingu, which has strong demand from the international ornamental fish market, which created a strong pressure of exploitation associated with this species. H.zebra is included on the list of Brazilian fauna threatened with extinction and their capture is prohibited. It is known that even prohibited, it continues to be captured and exported illegally, together with the construction of this hydroelectric Belo Monte in his patch of distribution, which threatens their geographical distribution and lack of information on its biology and ecology make it difficult planning actions for this species. So, if this work aimed to study aspects of reproductive biology and population dynamics to contribute to conservation measures for this species. Specimens of H. zebra were taken monthly from March 2009 to February 2010, by diving with a compressor, on the Xingu River, between the location of the weevil and Rita village of Belo Monte. The captured individuals were weighed and measured (total weight and total length). The gonads were removed and immediately fixed in Bouin solution. This was followed by routine histological techniques and the slides were stained with hematoxylin-eosin (HE). The stages of gonadal maturation were described based on the presence of germ cells at different stages of development. Through the length frequency data, estimates of population parameters such as growth models, recruitment, mortality, yield per recruit and size of first gonadal maturity. The species showed a seasonal spawning peaks between the two transition seasons of drought and flood (and vice versa) of the river, and two periods of recruitment, with different growth rates. It was estimated that the species has a lifespan of five years, and is at the limit of maximum sustainable yield, which is characterized as a dangerous situation for the species, because any increase in effort will compromise the stock and it is not known impacts that occur as a result of changes in their habitat caused by dam construction.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O caranguejo-uçá Ucides cordatus (Crustacea, Brachyura, Ucididae), no litoral paraense: uma abordagem sobre a atividade extrativa no Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-03-31) SILVA, Mauro Marcio Tavares da; PINHEIRO, Marcelo Antonio Amaro; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6829111589524333; QUEIROZ, Helder Lima de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3131281054700225This paper initially provides information about the extraction potential of productive mangroves in the municipalities of Quatipuru and Bragança, as well as the socioeconomic characterization of the extractive professionals (crabbers) of this resource. Parallel to the information generated in the mangroves and communities interviewed in Quatipuru and Bragança, this study also seeks to contextualize the extractive activity of the mangrove crab-uçá around the Pará coast, through information obtained by the collection and analysis of data in different mangrove municipalities of Pará’s coast, characterizing the productive activity of this important resource extraction communities. The information collection occurred in the period between 2010-2012, where the extractive potential was examined, in the mangroves of Bragança and Quatipuru confirming these locations as potentially producing regions, with a density of 5.01 ± 1.09 ind/m2 in the Quatipuru magrove and 6.5 ± 1.0 ind/m2 in the Bragança mangrove with an immediate extraction potential (IEP) of 80.91 % in Quatipuru and 86.23 % in Bragança. Concerning extractive activity in the major communities in the municipalities of Quatipuru and Bragança, the profile of crabbers was characterized by male dominated, low education, with at least 16 years of activity for most in Quatipuru and more than 20 years for most of the interviewed in the communities of Bragança. The primary capture technique used is the "braceamento" with the aid of hook in both locations, where they capture on average 51-100 units / day in Quatipuru and 101-150 in Braganca, where the middleman is the main destination of the product for the sites investigated. The data obtained from the Pará coastal reveal that out of all the mangroves studied, the municipality of Viseu was highlighted as an important forest region of Pará, with a density of 4.23 ± 1.40 ind/m2, CPUE 46.6 (crabs / man / hour) and 226.8 ± 113.1 units captured by crabber/day, however , it is important to notice that this municipality had the lowest average price per crab (R$0.18 ± 0,05) among all communities of the municipalities visited. The importance of this resource for the communities in the coastal Pará is clear and requires regulatory actions that support exploration with sustainability, as well as encouraging these professionals of artisanal fisheries through actions of to recover their citizenship.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Processo participativo da mulher na cadeia produtiva do mexilhão Mytella charruana (D’orbgny, 1846) na comunidade Vila Nova, Bragança-PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-03-26) ARAUJO, Zilah Therezinha de Souza; SILVA, Iracely Rodrigues da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5393264898435715; SIQUEIRA, Deis Elucy; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8347270681208567The study of the sexual division of the Mytella Charruana productive chain from Vila –nova, Bragança-PA, was developed on Juner 2013 to February, 2014. Aiming to analyze women’s participation and appreciation in those activities. For this, we have chosen two categories for analysis: traditional community and the work’s sexual division. Presenting the productive chain of Mitilídeo Mytella charruana. With Own resources, we followed the qualitative method presenting ten families that selected because they used to organize the mollusk’s extraction activities in the same area. As an methodological instrument the snow ball technique, to identify the leaders and the formation of the sample group; the interview ,the questionnaire and the informal talk, the participative observation, and picture registers. The investigation resulted in the following of identification of men and women in the productive chain: the collection data, the extraction process and the Mytella charruana’s commercialization. Concluding that from the moment it started to be introduced and sold in market, men became responsible for the collection, and responsible for the first and final step of the mollusk extraction. And that women are responsible for the space prepping to the products’ arriving after the extraction of it, the cleaning of each product, the rescues’ collect process after selection, of the review process of extraction of each shell to extract possible content of mass, adding to daily domestic activities. Whereas women’s work, the strict hygienic treatment of Mytella charuana, is considered the big deal when dealing with regional costumers, the valorization goes to man. The investigation also showed the excessive exploration of the natural resources that need normatization and extra hand careful dealing with it, to avoid damages in the environment.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Uso dos recursos alimentares por populações quilombolas da Amazônia brasileira(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-08-31) MELO, Luciana Santos de; GIARRIZZO, Tommaso; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5889416127858884This work verified the extrativism activities and the consumption of animal protein of four Quilombola communities from the protected area Reserva Biológica do rio Trombetas, Pará state, Brasil. The data were obtained by forms in a participative methodology after the food were weigthened in a 5kg balance. The data were colected weekly through 12 months (August 2007 to July 2008). The Cachoeira Porteira community shown the samllest average of fishies consumption (371,6g ± 312,3g. capita-1.day-1) and Lago Mussurá showed the higger value (567,5g ± 415,5g. capita-1.day-1). The Lago Erepecu show the higger average of hunting (276g ± 407,7g.capita-1.day-1). Chelonian eggs were the one iten that show significant differences bettwen sazonallity periods (seca and vazante). This search confirmed that fishing resources was the most abundant bettwen all the itens, followed by hunting. The industrial protein food suplies don´t play important role in the dietary activities in the four communities studied.
